At Midnoon...
now what you hear is only the sound of the rain outside
there is no lamppost, it has been taken away just this morning,
understandably there is no need for light
there is no feeling that
in the brightness of a new day
darkness can have digits
but i heard of a man who carried his flashlight
at noon
declaring that this city is as dark as the deepest floor of the ocean
where the gods
of rage have been hiding
and he warns that the rage continues
that we honestly still feel this matter inside the guts
of these modern days
that sometime the ocean will bring its own darkness
with the storms at mid-noon
and we who take pride of the light and the
grasses of the earth
will have something to write
perhaps not really that gentle and calm
and perhaps we are too clumsy for this

And Here Comes Dark
It's dark outside
But I see the light
Then darkness
I see the light again
And here comes dark
It's dark outside
I am lonely and sad
But I see the light
You ask my name
Then darkness
You take my hand
I see the light again
We fall in love
And here comes dark
It's dark outside
I can't find you
But I see the light
You were right there
Then darkness
I have my doubts
I see the light again
You say I'm wrong
And here comes dark
It's dark outside
I reach for you
But I see the light
You don't reach for me
Then darkness
I feel alone
I see the light again
I read your face
And here comes dark
It's dark outside
I want to leave
But I see the light
You're come to me
Then darkness
I feel your grip
I see the light
You're hurting me
And here comes dark
It's dark outside
I try to scream
But I see the light
You have my throat
Then darkness
I can not breath
I see the light
For the last time
And here comes dark

A rock in the sea
Like a rock in the savage sea
I have weathered many a storm
Being slowly worn in the passing days
Growing smaller and more frail
Seasoned by the sea which rolls
In an uneven tempest I’ve watched
Outward in the ocean of time
Felt the still calm of nothingness
And the rage of high winds
The crash of the ocean against me
The light of my colour faded
Where notches of storms past remain
Chipped away from me
The broken rock, the life I’ve lived
Lost in the depths of the ocean
Washed into the deepest blue
That I can no longer see
That I shall stand till I can stand no more
Like a rock in a savage sea

Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on that sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Run from the light
Run from the light
Into the arms of all embracing night.

Do not fight it
Do not fight it
Night is calling, just invite it.
No light at end
No light at end
Darkness now, your only friend.

Darkness Of...
Darkness is not the darkness of night
it is the darkness of mind and soul.
darkness is not the darkness of night,
it is the darkness of discrimination between poor and rich.
darkness is not the darkness of night,
it is the darkness of dishonesty.
darkness is not the darkness of night,
it is the darkness of aggravate.
darkness is not the darkness of night,
it is darkness of corruption.
darkness is not the darkness of night,
it is the darkness of indiscipline.
darkness is not the darkness of night,
it is the darkness of animosity.
darkness is not the darkness of night,
it is the darkness of inveterate.
darkness is not the darkness of night,
it is the darkness of perjury.
darkness is not the darkness of night,
it is the darkness that we all brought up inside us,
so, light the lamp of light inside you...

Turning Off The Lights
you say, you love light, its brightness
that reveals what had long been denied to you
by darkness,
you take it, and raise it and put it at the higher place
for that should be how it must be
everything is now obvious and you begin to see
the truth, and you say, at first, that this is beautiful,
and good, and you preach about light, its brightness,
you want all those that love you to have them too
time changes, seasons come and go, tastes not just sweetness
but bitterness, this is also truth, but this is not good,
this is ugly, and all the scenes pass before your eyes,
your parents, and brothers, they are carried by this rage
of the river of time, there was thunder and lightning at the background,
there is too much lighting, and you begin to dislike
what light has given you, brightness has become too harsh
for such a short life,
there is panic and fear now, you want to run but all the doors are closed,
and the windows refuse to open,
the clouds make the rain, and rain does not stop,
the sun still shines, no promises are broken, all for your love of light,
its brightness, now getting too sharp and too jagged, they hurt
you sit alone, you let the rain flood over you, you dislike water
there is too much of it, just like light, flooding over your senses,
they are no longer good, they are so ugly,
but what can you do? you wished for it and now it is given for free.
forgetting has taken your beloved away. Such a cruel goddess.
Now you are alone. You remember the night of sound sleep.
You remember when you said, once when we were small,
You want all the lights turned off, light hurts, and you cannot sleep.
and so, i turned off all the lights now. I shall not tell you anything.
You need sleep and dreams shall be there to comfort you.

Holding The Lamp
anxious face
the lines are bold
like some veins
about to burst
like a bomb timed
at ten tonight
the flash light
roams around the
darkness
a roomful of darkness
wanting to point
out the truth
the truth is in my heart
in the darkness of
my heart
your flashlight gets
nothing
the view is holographic
mirages and shadows
ghosts and
souls
you are a failure again
i turn off the light
now see me again
in this darkness
this is my truth
this is my life
this is the only light i have
the dark room
a roomful of blackness
inside my heart
inside my soul.

Shine Your Light
You've told me,
many times before,
that you prefer living,
in a world of darkness.
But tell me this,
when looking into darkness,
don't you see the smallest light,
in the distance?
Can't you see,
a little light,
that will shine through,
any darkness?
But yet you still say,
dark is better than light,
so are you saying that,
you too are a dark person?
No that can't be so,
when I think of you,
the last thing I'd think of,
would be dark.
You have so much light within,
but yet you've decided to live,
where no light can get in,
but is suffocated by dark.
You seem so strong inside,
but yet to everyone you hide,
except to me when you show me,
the real light within.
If you are full,
of such strong light,
then why do you tell everyone,
you love the darkness?

Darkness Hopes
In each of us lives darkness
black as coal and full of desire,
that lies dormant in the midnight
though it longs to feel a fire.
The fire brings great brightness
to the heart of the darkest dark;
as it dances with abandon
flirting madly as it sparks.
When the sparks flash in the darkness
the blackness feels the heat,
that's created by a passion
when light and darkness meet.
Once the darkness is ignited
white light burns deep inside,
emboldened by combustion
once begun, won't subside.
Though as the fire burns lower
and the light begins to dim,
embers glow with excitement
for what will come again.
The darkness is quite patient
as it quietly sits and waits,
for the fire to build inside again
and reconnect the fates.
You see, the darkness holds out the hope
for the passion of the light,
to dance again with abandon
to bring a fire, burning bright.

When I Write Another Poem
for another head start
i read your poem
reflect on what you say
and what you really feel,
and then i look upon
myself, searching
on a link to my
soul,
searching the recesses
of my heart
looking for a leveling
field
where you my peer
can also feel what i
feel,
and then i realize
we are all one in this
journey
one boat sailing
on a vast ocean
one sky filled with
stars
and storms
and eventually
at times seeing
auroras of light
lightning and thunder
and emptiness
inside a cup of
consumed coffee,
i ponder upon
this humanity
of words, and right
there and then
i write this one
for you
respecting the flow
of thought
linking to the river
of your
expressed
feelings
the rage of a waterfall
of emotions
the settlement
of ideas
flashes of light
reflecting the self
that was there
even before
we have attempted to
write.

Out Of The Darkness
Theres an empty street in an empty town
Theres an old boutique selling ageing gowns
Some words on the walls that were written
By the light of the moon so bright
Can you hear me, can you her me tonight
Take me out of this darkness and in to the morning light
The rain that falls doesnt make me cry
And the wind that blows cannot hurt my eyes
But the things that I see when I turn on tv
Make me wanna lie down and die
Can you hear me, can you her me tonight
Take me out of this darkness and in to the morning light
Can you hear me
Take me out of this darkness and in to the morning light

Darkness Of Light
People regard light as a great principle,
Something that awakens our day,
Something that enables us to see in our misty minds,
Something that we all share.
But when does light share darkness,
Nobody ever thinks about when light was dark,
How it was used to kill and sacrifice,
The forgotten.
This light isn't all good,
For once it cleared the darkness,
It never fought away its return,
This darkness in which we all live in,
Is only light itself, for the earth started in darkness.
The birth is only the true state,
The Big Bang or God brang light,
But before the light there was dark,
And light was our saviour now
Our destroyed respects in the dark.

There Are Days No Poem Can Be Written
THERE ARE DAYS NO POEM CAN BE WRITTEN
There are days no poem can be written
Grief and worry frighten the poem away
Yet the poem lives hidden
For our darkest moments our loneliest fears
Too need their poetry.
Poetry is a way of saying all we need to say
It is our deepest feeling most deeply expressed
It is all we are
The whole of our being
In words.
When a poet dies
Words die
When I will die
All I am will no longer be able to write
One more poem.
How afraid I am in the night
And how dark in the early morning before I rise
But now that I am here
Writing this
A bit of hope begins in me
And I can dream that
When I walk out the door
a few minutes from now
A new day will begin.
How many days I have left
How many poems to write
I do not know.
It is not light yet
And the darkness is still here
But I will feel the morning again
This morning
Thank G-d
You have given me so many poems.
A few small words
help me believe
I truly am alive.

Light & Darkness
I remember light dimmed without darkness and darkness dimmed without light if you think about it there would be no light if there were no darkness, darkness needs lights, and light needs darkness, is that why heaven and hell do not fight, there calm but why.... they are enemies no? ....but even enemies know how to maintain balance... this light there is darkness on it... i see why.... what is light without darkness, if there were no darkness how would there be a light....... it would be a void of emptiness, thank you hells thank you heavens, thank you demons, thank you angels you know we must last so you maintain balance, you know of light and darkness......

Blackout (Fun Poem 129)
You go to change a light bulb,
suddenly there is a blue flash,
and you are plunged into darkness.
The time is 11 o’clock at night,
the curtains are pulled,
and there is not a glimmer of light.
You fumble around in the darkness
knocking ornaments off the shelf,
tripping over your pets
as they snooze on the floor
while you search franticly
for a light of any sort.
You find a candle and lit it,
then give a deep sigh,
which blow the candle out,
but not before, you’ve found
a flashlight with no batteries,
which sound about right
when you’re in a blackout.
Finally, you get a light
and go to the fuse box
only to find no fuse wire
there or anywhere.
You are stuck in a panic
of what to do,
then I did what anyone would do
go to bed and sort it out
when the morning appeared,
and that is just what I did.

Or When You Are Inside A Dark Room
and all are solid walls
you hear no one and no one hears you
you stand and grapple for light
your hands feeling the sides of
the walls
you panic for an exit
and still there is none
you calm yourself
and sit on the floor
you close your eyes in this darkness
and see the light inside
is this not a relief? you breathe
deeper like you are throwing a rope with a pail
inside the hole
of a well
you hear nothing yet
until it hits the bottom
and then you settle for something
so temporal
like this: i am alright. Things will be.

Conversations of Tess and her light and my darkness
i
Come to the light
And let yourself be known
Shine
ii
I live in the dark
I glow there
I am not visible
In your light
iii
Do take pride
About light
I will take
Darkness
iv
I have seen your light
It still looks dark to me
v
No, go out
See the light
And be uplifted
vi
Ah, I bask in the light
Of my poetry
There is enough moonlight
For me

Song. A Beautiful Mistress.
IF when the sun at noon displays
His brighter rays,
Thou but appear,
He then, all pale with shame and fear,
Quencheth his light,
Hides his dark brow, flies from thy sight,
And grows more dim,
Compared to thee, than stars to him.
If thou but show thy face again,
When darkness doth at midnight reign,
The darkness flies, and light is hurl'd
Round about the silent world :
So as alike thou driv'st away
Both light and darkness, night and day.
