As He Peels The Ripe Mango
as he peels the ripe fruit
a mango
taking the skin
and slowly sipping the
sweet sap from
the pulp and
leaving the
hard part
of the seed
so shall God peel the
masks of our faces
slowly shall He take
the sweet smiles
the substances
of our memories
and pasts
leaving the
core of our soul
He skins us He buries us
and so shall we, all of us without exception, begin
to regrow a new beginning.

The sweet stays.
The fading memories still fill the heart
Like the wind’s footfalls on the lonely
desert.
Sweet memories are the persistent calyx
That wraps up the sap of the fallen fruit.
Sweet memories are the Arabian attar
That overspread the decaying pulp.
A man dies rather with sweet memories.

Kiwi
Fruit without a stone, its shiny
pulp is clear green. Inside, tiny
black microdot seeds. Skin
the color of khakiImagine
a shaggy brown-green pelt
that feels like felt.
It's oval, full-rounded, kind
of egg-shaped. The rind
comes off in strips
when peeled with the lips.
If ripe, full of juice,
melon-sweet, yet tart as goose-
berry almost. A translucent ring
of seed dots looks something
like a coin-slice of banana. Grown
in the tropics, some stone
fruits, overlarge, are queerly
formed. A slablike pit nearly
fills the mango. I
scrape the fibrous pulp off with my
teeth. That slick round ball
in avocado (fruit without juice) we call
alligator pear:
Plant this seedpit with care
on three toothpicks over a glass
of water. It can come to pass
in time, that you'll see
an entire avocado tree.
Some fruits have stones, some seeds.
Papaya's loaded with slimy black beads.
Some seem seedlesslike quince
(that makes your tastebuds wince.)
Persimmon will
be sour, astringent 'until
dead ripe,' they say. Behind
pomegranate's leathery rind,
is a sackful of moist rubies. Pear,
cantaloupe, grapefruit, guava keep their
seeds hidden, as do raspberry, strawberry,
pineapple. Plum, peach and cherry
we know as fruits with big
seedstones. And fig?
Its graininess is seed. Hard to believe
is prickly durian. It's custard
sweetand smells nasty.
But there's no fruit as tasty,
as odd, or as funny
none
as fresh-off-the-vine New Zea-
land kiwi.

Your Scent
Your scent encases me
My second skin
It permeates everything
All at once satiating
While leaving me hungering for more
Leaving me open
Right down to my very core
Your scent encases me
Driving out the demons of memory
For new paths to be formed
Along their wake
Cementing new paintings in place
Ignoring the gossamer wings of time
So easily torn
Your scent encases me
My every breath waiting
To be set free
Time obliging, abiding
My whim
To be within your breath
Within your arms
Surrounded by the trail of your secret, your soul
Your scent encases me
Holding fast their silken bonds
And, oh rapture
To be held by such luxurious tethers
Held fast to your lust, your need
Only matched by the flames within my breast
The fires that only moments ago were mere embers
Slowly, your breath on my skin, your scent in my hair, come to life
Your scent encases me
I am left in darkness
No light does penetrate
My only salvation, your whispered words
I follow those sounds, those wisps of pure lust
My every breath taking in sweet passion
Your passion, my passion, our passion, as one we are once more.

Sweet Memories Of My Childhood Days
Sweet memories of my past
Like sweet gentle breeze upon the mast
Sweet ceaseless flow of the running stream
Sweet castles in my boyhood dream
Sweet tales of ages and places
Sweet memories of names and faces
Sweet whispering voices before dawn
Sweet ecstacies that linger on
Sweet glory of hard time overcome
Sweet hopeful days to come
Sweet cherished secret untold
Sweet tasted love of old
Sweet me, in most sweetest ways
Sweet undying memories of my childhood days! !

Act Of Love
Neil Young - "Mirror Ball") (performed live on various dates)
The fruit of love was in the future
Around the corner and over the hill
The act of love was slowly pounding, slowly pounding, slowly pounding.
The Holy War was slowly building
Heroes leaving for the Great Crusade
Seek reward in the ever after, ever after, ever after.
Don't wanna have to lose you baby
Don't want to have to take you back
You know I'll never lose you baby, abuse you baby, use you baby.
You know I'll always help you baby, but you know I just can't do that.
I know I said I'd help you baby, here's ny wallet, call me sometime.
Act of love... (4x)
The fruit of love was in the future
Around the corner and over the hill
The act of love was slowly pounding, slowly pounding, slowly pounding.

Leavings Not Leaving
Title from anywhere but here
Starring susan sarandon
Sometimes a time comes along
When its time to, time to move on
Youll still be there in everything that I do
And wherever I go
Ill remember you
Leavings not leaving
cause Im not, leaving you behind
Youll always be with me, always be with me
Part of my heart for all time
Where Im going , youre going
Even if its just in my mind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you behind
Moments shared there with you
Theyre the best times that I ever knew
Theyll still be there when godbyes are all though
Ill remember those days
Ill remember you
Leavings not leaving
cause Im not, leaving you behind
Youll always be with me, always be with me
Part of my heart for all time
Where Im going , youre going
Even if its just in my mind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you behind
Ill hold on the memories
cause in my heart youll be here with me
Theres no reason to cry
Goddbye isnt really goodbye
Leavings not leaving
cause Im not, leaving you behind
Youll always be with me, always be with me
Part of my heart for all time
Where Im going , youre going
Even if its just in my mind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you behind
Leavings not leaving
Not leaving you behind
Im not leaving you
Im not leaving you behind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you
Im not leaving you behind

The Point That You Are Driving At
of all inanimate
you say you want to be a fruit
a mango
luscious, sweet, and
ripe
i know, your point is that
you are ready,
ripe for everything, an end
for itself,
and of all animate,
you say you simply want to be this
mosquito
of the female variety, one that sings
one that tells you
that life sucks

A Song Of Spring
The Spring comes slowly up this way,
Slowly, slowly,
Under a snood of hodden grey.
The black and white for her array,
Slowly, slowly,
The Spring comes slowly up this way.
Where is her green that was so gay?
Slowly, slowly,
The Spring comes slowly up this way.
Unto a world too sick for May,
Slowly, slowly,
The Spring comes slowly up this way.
Where are the lads that used to play?
Slowly, slowly,
The Spring comes slowly up this way.
She has no heart for holiday,
Slowly, slowly,
The Spring comes slowly up this way.
The trees are out in Heaven they say.
Slowly, slowly,
The Spring comes slowly up our way.

Under The Mango Tree
i like the idea
of doing many things under the mango tree
like
watching time go by like it is a stranger
and i
am a stranger too watching time pass by
like i am so interested
with what time
can do to me
making me old
making the mango tree bloom and flower and have fruits
and they are so many
that the mango tree bends
to the ground
and time stays for a while and ripens the fruits
and make all of them
in time
fall one by one to the ground
like some kind
of withered flowers
luscious, sweet, fruits of the mango tree
falling
by the slightest passing of the wind
and then the children
come and with all joy
pick them one by one
putting what they can
under
their shirts and still rushing
to keep
and take some more
under the mango tree
all the people
are so much alike
the rushing, the taking, the joy
of always having more
and it will never stop
as i watch time slowly go by

Silver Wings
Silver wings shining in the sunlight
Roaring engines headed somewhere in flight
Theyre taking you away
Leaving me lonely
Silver wings slowly fading out of sight
Silver wings shining in the sunlight
Roaring engines headed somewhere in flight
Theyre taking you away
Leaving me lonely
Silver wings slowly fading out of sight
Dont leave me I cry
Dont take that airplane ride
But you lock me outta your mind
Left me standing here behind
Silver wings shining in the sunlight
Roaring engines headed somewhere in flight
Theyre taking you away
Leaving me lonely
Silver wings slowly fading out of sight
Slowly fading out of sight
Slowly fading out of sight

Explore your potential and earn the heart of the world
Village mud road
Afternoon and the hot sun
A buffalo in its own slow pace
On its back a half naked boy
Sweat droplets twinkling
Seated and enjoying a mango
Making all efforts to extract
The entire flesh upto the seed
A clean and white seed
Now in his hand
Aiming to hit a crow
Sitting on a milestone
Innocently glancing left and right
Threw the seed at his full speed
Thank God, the crow flew unhurt
The seed finding its way
To a mud-ridden drain
With its drowning deep
Bubbles appearing
Pronouncing the end of
A mango fruit
But it was only a beginning
The seed fighting all odds
Sprouted establishing
In the stinking waste water drain
Growing steadily
To a sapling first
Then to a big tree
Now standing tall
With branches in all directions
Bearing sweet fruits
Now being exported and
Earning foreign exchange
Apparently a useless seed
Had this potential
Which when rightly exploited
Earned global recognition
Explore your potential and
Earn the heart of the world

Sweet Silence Speaks
At the brink of the midnight
When every mortal sleeps
When voices turn their faces
Then the sweet silence speaks
With the onset of the moonlight
Slowly deserting the streets
When the noises are duped
Then the sweet silence speaks
When the zephyrs are high
At the snow covered peaks
And the voices get numb
Then the sweet silence speaks
I desperately wait to meet her
Through days and all through the weeks
I really die to hear her voice
And then the sweet silence speaks
Through an edge of a dream
When my sweety slowly peaks
All of a sudden I wake up
When the sweet silence speaks

Skin
This is someone elses story
Someone that I never knew
This is someone elses body
Am I getting through to you
If you peel away the armor is something underneath
If you look below for hidden treasure underneath another layer
Are you hiding underneath the skin
Chorus
If you peel away the skin is there anybody there
If you peel away the skin is there anybody there
If you peel away the armor is it too late to begin
Is there anybody hiding if you peel away the skin
Now a spark has passed between us now
A momentary recognition
Something lost and something gained
And something shared that feels strange
Something cold that will not go away
Theres a heart as cold as ice
In a vault thats made of stone
Over years the walls got higher
Over years the walls have grown
Is there anybody in there in this self inflicted tomb
If you peel away the layers is there someone in this room
If you peel away the skin, if you peel away the skin
This is someone elses story
Someone that I never knew
This is someone elses body
Am I getting through to you

We Used To
Mmm....
We used to walk through fields of green
We used to sit by clear blue streams
We used to be so happy
Me and you
We used to do such silly things
We used to make love in the rain
We used to
Yes, we used to
Then you went away
Leaving me with the memories we made
Memories of those sweet yesterdays
Spent with you
Spent with you
And even though youre gone
I still think so often of you
And the things that we no longer do
Like we used to
Oh we used to
We used to be so much in love
We used to kiss and hold and touch
We used to find so many things to do
We used to laugh and plan and dream
We used to own the world it seemed
We used to
Yes we used to
Then you went away
Leaving me with the memories we made
Memories of those sweet yesterdays
Spent with you
Spent with you
Oh and even though youre gone
I still think so often of you
And the things that we no longer do
Like we used to
Oh we used to
La...mmm....
Ahh....

Give Us The Cookies
It had been perfectly okay,
For them to do and say...
Exactly as they pleased.
Not just for years.
But for centuries.
A respect was given.
And this had increased.
But a dishonesty became their beast.
This began to feed a greed.
This greed did not cease.
An addiction of it was from them released.
The beast began to roar.
Making demands within its den.
Not only did it begin to offend.
Unwisely it began to destroy...
The goodwill felt,
Amongst its own fellowmen.
Ending all respect that had been given.
'That's a nice story, grandpa.
Can we get another cookie? '
Even the sweet taste of the cookies...
Were slowly suspended,
From the children's memories.
'Tch!
Will you stop teasing, grandpa.
Give us the cookies.'
Even the sweet taste of the cookies...
Were slowly suspended,
From the children's memories.
'Look, old man.
We ain't playing.
Give up the goods! '

Cloaks Of 23
I want you
but I know you
suspect this already
taking bites of it like
a ripe delicious apple
with those perfect teeth
looking at me
through the bedroom eyes
of nonchalant youth
feasting on admiration
and attention
from us over thirties
who crave in you
our last grasp at the youth
which was once ours;
now consoling ourselves
with work, money or security,
thinking just maybe
you'd swap the latters
for the true love of the
young men who surround you
in their twenties.
Youth never understands
that age
does not abandon its own youth
rather
our older faces relentlessly
cover its relentless
insurgencies smashing our illusions.
So it is not
just you we crave
but our own fading youth
you represent
as we find ourselves meandering down the years
our minds fixed on how we were
at 17 or 23.
The body defeats
ultimately our youthful sense of agelessness
but that is something that can never be explained
to young girls of 23.
In fact if you approached most of us
we would blush and flee
because it is not you we crave
but our own young selves
at 17 and 23-
selves which abandoned us
for the cheap price of fleeting years
leaving us as oarless dingys
floating on an aging seas.
So as we
console our sorrow
with money or power
which do not sate
we, too, gaze back longingly;
youthful pasts
represented by you
clad now in only our poor cloak
for what was once
our own youthful
youth.
So pass now
sweet sprite
by these older eyes-
apple core
to the ground-
because those seeds within
shall be rightfully
sewn
by other younger
youth's hands.

On this silly hill
On this silly hill I remember the silly things
That we did
We were so young and we decided to pick
Some ripe mangoes on this silly
Isolated hill away from
Our teasing
Silly friends
And I really liked her a lot
My heart was trembling
Her heart too quivering
We felt we like each other
Feelings like hot chili
Heating our ears
We said we love each other
We promised to love each other
Till the end of days
And so I climbed the mango tree
And picked the most luscious
Delicious mangoes as may be gleaned
From their color and shape
Thinking all the best for her
That I could give
To her
I put all the mangoes in my shirt
And I was silly looking silly like a tray to her
And she picked them one by one
Near my chest lower to my tummy
Nearer to my bulge
I was breathless
As she took more
Ripe mangoes from me
Slowly
Gracefully
Peeling with her mouth and tongue
Licking the yellowish pulp
And she said the mangoes were all
So sweet smelling and delicious
Like me
She was craving
She was raving
I was simply receptive
Giving in
All
To what she wanted
She touched my heart and we were silly
On our teens we did
What married people did on this silly hill
Isolated from silly friends
We did something adventurous
We had something marvelous
We did all those silly things
Like wild horses
In nature’s ways
Galloping
Breath taking
The years passed and now I am reaching fifty
Looking back I remember the silly things that we
Young silly people on our early teens did on this silly hill
We went and parted and she married the right man for her
I too went my own separate direction, taking a wife on my own
Looking back,
I feel sad,
I feel happy
What we silly teeny people did which we think was silly
Was all done in the name of pure love so endless
We were all virgins in love & we all thought of nothing else
Love and love and love
The mango was a symbol also of love
The silly hill was the seat of love
The mango tree was a climb of love
The isolation was all in the name of love
The whole was but love’s marvel
Love’s adventure
Love and love and love was all that we had
All love and love
Pure love
Unmixed untainted unblemished unadulterated
And they think it was silly
And I once thought it was silly
On that silly hill remembering the silly things we did
The silly things we said and promised
We did not talk about money, politics and family strategy
We did not bother about inheritance, a family name, a community reputation
We were not told whom to marry and when and always why.
Love can be developed and marriage can always be arranged
That to me are the silly things that we people do to ourselves.

A Thousand Pasts
She walked out into
the cold light of her own future
quivering;
half-present
because hard lessons
from her thousand pasts
gave no indication
of any future destination;
therefore, she stalled
at the intersection
strung out on reality
hoping to mold
a destiny
from a too-crowded
yesterday,
one jumbled up with faded significances
leaving her with
obfuscations rambling within her thousand-fold memories,
which taken together, subdued her consciousness
leaving her
devoid of intent
or direction
and meaning.
'I have seen' she said
'too much TV;
too many versions of the truth;
experienced too many versions of my self
to see or forge
a clear path
in my future tense.'
'The Past' she said 'is best lived
in the real world
because if I am swamped by
multitudes of pseudo life experiences
these will not necessarily lead
anywhere
and there is born future confusion
and ended momentum
and I, I see, am left with only
Media, Computer and TV memories
and crippling apathy.'
'Life is best led' she said sadly;
not viewed or merely read;
and how much of what I currently
am
is derived of such? '
And yet
these thousand points
are mine
and part of me;
how to re-assemble them
into coherency-
my generations reveille
and hard task
to achieve.
