Armed

in considering the dangers of my position
i am giving you the first impression
that i am armed with the possible explanation
for these are the logic of my ammunition

but if you only delve more deeply about my situation
i am so helpless hiding only in the web of an exhortation.

My mother's incredibly giving, almost too giving at times. And, my dad is a real logical person. He's got logic for every situation. They've been married for 24 years, so there was that stability, also. I really learned to think on my own at a very young age.

Dad - Stated In Letters Of Gold

I’m deeply touched by a situation
I’m helpless to change – but firmly
convinced that the story of the
intrigue against my father
must one day be
revealed

My father WILL be vindicated one day
I shall keep on formulating his story
until it becomes stated in letters
of gold and his unselfish spirit
undying love and unique
brand of eccentric
integrity

will prevail over my mother’s mercenary
religious conniving and refinement
in using of him and his family
I started reading the book
of my father’s life about
three years ago - I’m
intrigued

determined to play a role in
reinstating him to a higher
position after my mother
relegated him to the
lowest dungeons
of infamy

Helpless

There is a town in north ontario
Dream comfort memory despair
And in my mind I still need a place to hide
All my changes were there
Blue blue windows behind the stars
Yellow moon on the rise
Big birds flying across the skies
Casting shadows in our eyes
Leave us helpless helpless helpless helpless
Helpless helpless they leave me now
Helpless helpless helpless
Blue blue windows behind the stars
Yellow moon on the rise
They leave us
Helpless helpless helpless helpless
Helpless helpless they leave me now
Helpless helpless helpless
Helpless helpless helpless helpless
Helpless helpless they leave me now

Thats My Impression

(tennant/lowe)
------------
I went looking for someone I couldnt find
Staring at faces by the serpentine
Walking slowly, I realised
Youd been and gone - I know you lied
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
The wind was chilly and the sky was dull
I went for shelter to the temple
Once inside I couldnt believe my eyes
Youd been and gone - I know you lied
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Go to a club - you think Ill be there
I dont go cause Im not a member
You said you went to apologise
Its plain to me thats one more lie
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Thats my impression (impression)
Thats my impression
I went looking for someone I couldnt find
Staring at faces by the serpentine
Walking slowly, I realised
Youd been and gone - I know you lied
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Its an expression
And a suggestion
I learned my lesson
Thats my impression
Thats my impression (impression)
Thats my impression
Thats my impression (impression)
I learned my lesson
I went looking for someone I couldnt find
Staring at faces by the serpentine
Walking slowly I - realised
Youd been and gone - I know
You lied - thats my impression
I know you lied
And thats my impression
Thats my impression
My impression
Thats my impression

Logic suffers

Desire blurs the logic.
Passion wounds the logic.
Fear maims the logic.
Rage kills the logic.
They spring from instincts
To protect the self
And hence ignore the logic.
Logic is meant for the third person.

Helpless

Helpless, helpless, helpless, helpless
I thought about it but I couldnt think of what to say
But I thought about it anyway.......yeah
I tried to tell you what you mean to me
But it didnt come so easily..........no
I never reckoned
For more than a second
Just how it would be on my own
Id be helpless, without you
Id be helpless, without you
The dawn that calls beyond the night
Tells its old story.
The shadows fade into the light
In all its glory.
Helpless
Helpless baby Im a helpless
Helpless baby
Im a helpless
If I could put a good shine on the past
Do you think that we could make it last - oh yeah
Seems to mind the time goes fast
I wonder if the vote is cast
Now that you mention it,
Got my attention
I quite clearly blew me away
Id be helpless, without you
Id be helpless, without you
The dawn that calls beyond the night
Tells its old story.
The shadows fade into the light
In all its glory.
Helpless
Helpless baby Im a helpless
Helpless baby
Im a helpless, without you
Id be helpless, without you
Helpless, helpless, helpless, helpless

Runnin' Shine

WELL NOW DOWN DEEP IN THE OZARKS MAN, THERE WERE I WAS BORN, MY GRANDFATHER OWNED A STILL AND RAISED A FIELD OF CORN. HE TOLD ME BOY, YOU GONNA CARRY ON THIS FAMILY TRADITION, THEN HE WILLED ME THE STILL PLUS ALL THE GUNS AND AMMUNITION. YOU BETTER START RUNNIN' WHEN THE BULLETS START TO FLY. YOU BETTER UNDERSTAND YOU FACE FLASH IN THE SKY. I'M RUNNIN' SHINE. MY GRANDFATHER TAUGHT ME ALL THE SECRETS OF THE TRADE, HE TAUGHT ME HOW TO DRINK AND SELL THE BEST OF WHAT I MADE. HE TAUGHT ME HOW TO UTILIZE THE GUNS AND AMMUNTION AND HE ATAUGHT ME HOW TO DEAL WITH THOSE WHO ENVIED MY POSITION. ONE DAY SHERIFF GERALD COLTRANE CAME A KNOCKIN' AT MY DOOR, HE TOLD ME YOU WON'T BE MAKIN' THAT CORN LIQUOR NO MORE. I FINALLY GOT TO UTILIZE THE GUNS AND AMMUNITION AND I FINALLY GOT TO DEAL WITH WHOSE WHO ENVIED MY POSITION

K.K. Is Hiding

KK is hiding
Watching everyone
Making sure that we all know
She's not a toy
KK is hiding
Watching everyone for us
She's kinda makin' sure
She's getting all of us
Ahhh, Ahhh, Ahhh, Ahhh
KK is hiding
Watching everyone
Making sure that we all know
She's annoyed
KK is hiding
Watching everyone for us
She's kinda makin' sure
She's getting all of us
B-Sec
Break down
It's all that you can do
What's the cost of giving us the blues
You break down
No more that you can cry
What's the cost
You're thinking she could die
Maybe there are people you know
Who like to drag a ball and chain as they go
You've got to know
How can it be
How can I turn your love
Forget about you for a while
Break down
It's all that she can do
Getting lost and
Giving you the blues
Maybe there are people you know
Who like to drag a ball and chain as they go
About you now
Forgetting all the rest
You're gonna see oh
KK is hiding
KK 'n KK is hiding now
KK is hiding
KK 'n KK is hiding now

Sonnet: My Second Love

I am not married to the Muse in me!
My pleasant past-time is Poesy now;
My second love in whom I delve freely,
And will achieve soon dizzy heights somehow.

My computer-like brain has many words,
That flow in an automatic fashion;
I waste not time with the rest of the herds;
I think a lot with logic and reason.

My heart is tending nearer to my God,
Who gave talent new called Poetry;
In all my work, I’ve tried to praise the Lord;
My labor will be rewarded surely.

Like mist, it came and settled as dew-drops,
Reflecting life and world, giving men props.

Is It True?

for after all
is it true that a good poem
does not teach?
or preach?
or even tell something
so important
is it true that it simply
makes you feel?
logic is for
mathematics and
any exhortation on
how we live
and why
must be archived
in the ethics department.
this one must make sense
in the color and in the scent
and in the sweetness
or bitterness of its
words

it is more of a comma
than a period,
and some dots,
lots of dots.......

Daytime Dilemma

She came from a happy home
A very happy home a very happy home
Miss personality, a grade 'a' student naturally
She had it all worked out but things aren't what
They seem is this real or just a dream?
And things will never ever be the same again
She came from a happy home
A very happy home a home of happiness
Miss personality, a grade 'a' student naturally
She had it all in place but things aren't what
They seem is this real or just a dream?
Things will never ever be the same again
The dangers, it's the dangers of love
The dangers, it's the dangers
She came from a happy home
A vey happy home a vert happy scene
She caught him with another it turns out it
Was her mother what a tragedy can things be
What they seem is this just some crazy dream
Things may never ever be the same again
The dangers, it's dangers of love
The dangers, it's the dangers
Keep telling li-ie-ies, but you dis you know you did
It's coming,. it's coming,. it's coming
The dangers, it's the dangers of love
The dangers, it's the dangers
What went wrong she couldn't tell but we know
It all too well
The dangers, it's the dangers of love
The dangers, it's the dangers

Show Me The Real You

Hey remember me?
Hard to forget, right?
Insistent, demanding
When we were both sixteen
I remember you in the spotlight
You seemed so in control
Hiding behind your wall
Have you ever met somebody who could
Unmask you
The way you unmask me
Guidelines and sub-routines
You make me forget the things
That I put in place to save my face
But I'm not sure if it's a face worth saving
Show me the real you
And I'll show you the real me
Can we make a second first impression baby
Show me the real you
And I'll show you the real me
Can we make a second first impression, baby
Maybe, maybe, yeah
Seven years have past
Now here I come
I caught the briefest glimpse
I haven't seen it since
When you smile at me
Where'd you smile from
From insecurity
But you're secure with me
Have you never let somebody in to
Unmask you
The way you unmask me
I know it's dangerous
Please don't be afraid because
This is your life I used to live
Now I know It's not a life worth living
Show me the real you
And I'll show you the real me
Can we make a second first impression baby
Show me the real you
And I'll show you the real me
Can we make a second first impression, baby
Maybe, maybe, yeah
I know I'm acting stupid
Can we make a second first impression
I want us to be honest, open
Show your face to me
Show me the real you
And I'll show you the real me
Can we make a second first impression baby
Show me the real you
And I'll show you the real me
Can we make a second first impression, baby
Maybe, maybe, yeah

And never - not in a single case - was the explanation, 'I was pressured to do this.' The explanation was very often, 'The limited data we had led one to reasonably conclude this. I now see that there's another explanation for it.'

A Strange Feeling

I have never been to this place before,
yet I feel that I have, I’m absolutely sure.
The whole place seems so familiar to me,
how can that happen, it just cannot be.

That man over there has stood up and pointed,
the expression on his face, he’s so disappointed.
I’ve seen all this before it’s like a replayed scene,
but it’s impossible it could never have been.

That running three legged dog; well I’ve seen it before
and not in a Lowry painting, somewhere else I’m sure.
The position in which everyone’s standing here and now,
we’ve stood them before, but I don’t know how.

The tall man over there who was so agitated before
he’s going to cry and slump to the floor.
Even though I can say what people will do and when,
it’s only here and now, as it’s about to happen.

Would I consider dreaming as a possible explanation?
I suppose I would after some deliberation.
Is there another explanation? Well, I haven’t got a clue,
except of course for déjà vous.

This Is My Hiding Place

as a child i was hurt
hurt so deeply with nowhere to tell how hurt i was once
with no other place to bury my tears
to shout my fears
there were no skies above me
there was no moon to confide
there were only walls

i have grown up
through layers and layers of silence
thick silence thicker than the earth of million years
strong and big and always
keen and piercing the walls that i have been used to
i have seen more about life's pains
and felt the dangers
that i have escaped and survived
i have become a man
and found this hiding place

my poetry.

Part Of Life, That is

Few get to sit in the midst of it.
Part of life that is.
With the giving of opinion and the giving of lip.
Part of life that is.
Few get to sit in the midst of it.
Part of life that is.
With the giving of opinion and the giving of lip.
Part of life that is.

Stuck with sticking emotions felt in my gut...
Unable to abandon them.
Or give them up...
Had been a place I'd been,
Back then.
With no one but myself...
And faith,
To help me slowly break away...
Of a hold I had on them to mend.

Few get to sit in the midst of it.
Part of life that is.
With the giving of opinion and the giving of lip.
Part of life that is.

I have learned to feel grief deeply,
Where it is felt.
Let it visit.
And then from it to leave!
Not to forget the process...
But to breathe!

Remembering...
With an agony upon my letting go,
Knowing what I felt was painful...
It was also,
Part of life!

A part of life,
That is!

Few get to sit in the midst of it.
Part of life that is.
With the giving of opinion and the giving of lip.
Part of life that is.
Few get to sit in the midst of it.
Part of life that is.
With the giving of opinion and the giving of lip.
Part of life that is.

Few get to sit in the midst of it.
Part of life that is.
With the giving of opinion and the giving of lip.
Part of life that is.

First and Foremost

First and foremost...
With pre-eminence to commence.
I'd like to thank you,
And your listening audience...
For giving me this opportunity
To provide clarification on the matter.
With open and honest dialogue,
About those issues we face as a great nation.

When last I visited,
I had stated 'this' was 'that' time.
And without 'that' to advance...
'This' would not be an enhancement.

Now...
Let me explain my position.
I am sitting comfortably!
Am I not?
Will you concur with me, Dirk!

'This is your host...
Dirk Kincaid.
And yes,
It appears our guest...
The honorable and nobel,
Mr.Chick Crisp...
Is, indeed, sitting quite comfortably'

If I sat 'this' way...
Would 'that' then be another position?

'I am not sure I follow.'

Exactly!
And I would not expect you to, either.
Only a fool would confuse two separate positions,
That are completely different ones...
As debateable!
And for eight years...
Eight grueling years,
I have stayed the course.

I am not expecting everyone to agree.
But 'this' is the position I have taken.
And 'that'...
As you can plainly see, Dirk
Has to be our objective and main focus!

'Well, ladies and gentlemen...
There you have it.
And as always...
We have been given the facts.
Brilliantly stated.
And clearly defined.

Folks...
We have witnessed
One of today's most gifted statesmen of our time.
We...
And I speak collectively for all of us enthralled.
We...
Have been truly blessed by your presence.'

I am the one deeply honored to have been invited!
