An Insecurity
the way she
puts the foundation
on her face
and puffs powder
on her cheeks
and paints her lips
with that stick
and sprays
her hair like
a pesticide
i think i know now
what anxiety turning
into a full blown depression
really means
but i will not be speaking any word
somehow i do not wish to give
the impression that for now
i already know how to
relate to the falling of
a world.

Too Foolish?
must i be foolish
how can i not figure out the correct spelling of
love, when you are there
undressing and perfuming your bare back
and putting puff powder on your cheeks
when you let all the curtains fall
when you say you are finally sleepy
and on a dreamy state
as i still face this blank wall
looking for the word
the right letter
the next color of my imagination
have i not known bridges of steel?
pathways of the flesh?
have i not felt once the lusciousness of
your lips?
the softness of your thighs
and the the spasmodic gestures of your
abdomen?
i must be foolish to stick to the word
love and lust
i still misspell

Depression 2
depression
a state of agitated depression
now facing the depression
like a closed session
needing medical attention
making my agitated confession
depression my obsession
depression my only material possession
years of oppression before the recession
see the expression of my depression
depression leaving a facial impression
at it's own discretion
like a rapper at a rap session
and a singer in a jam session
or a poet at the blog talk radio session
you can't forget the internal impression
the repossession of my depression
it's a new life i'm now facing without question

Powder
I am soaked in sweat tonight
Knuckles white and you try to fight
You beg for more to get you by
I've had enough, you wonder why
Even now your body cries
And jealous adds to blind your eyes
You wonder how you stay this high
When the sails begin to die
Forever forever forever
CHORUS: Brush it up, brush it up
Take it down, take it down
Smash it up, smash it up
Falling down
Follow like a medicine
It's broken down my happy friend
I wonder if you let me in
If I'm gonna see him win
Forever get better get better
CHORUS
Powder, give me powder
If only when you're young
This power, in the powder
If only when you're young
CHORUS x 5

My fight for my life!
My Eyes Are Heavy,
Full Of Sleep,
My Tears Twinkle,
When I Weep,
My Face Is Pale,
My Lips Are Blue,
My Obsession With Depression,
Has Taken Hold,
My Addiction To Self Infliction,
Is Getting Worse,
I Watch My Blood Role Down The Drain,
I Feel Relive In My Pain,
I Hate This Life,
As I Carved This Word Into My Arm
With A Knife,
Once Again My Worries Fade,
And I Dream Of a Better Day,
So Here I Am,
Half One In The Morn,
Fourteen Years And To Many Tears,
Already The Depression Has Taken Hold,
Fourteen Years,
Not Many Stories To Be Told,
But The Depression Has the Hold.

Depression Is When
depression is when you hate everyone around
depression is when you don't want to make a sound
depression is when all you want to do is cry
depression is when you feel like you’re dying inside
depression is when your thoughts wonder all the time
depression is when you can't sleep even though you’re tired
depression is when you don't want to go on
depression is when you can't stop shaking outside
depression is when you hide who you are
depression is when you put on a mask to hide what you feel
depression is when you feel weak all the time
depression is when you give in to everything around
depression is when you don't care what happens anymore
depression is just another day in my life

Chap Stick, Chapped Lips, And Things Like Chemistry
Ok, so, who doesn't own a cell phone
Who brought back their permission slip
Because I know nobody wants to stay home
While the rest of us go out and make a day of it
[Chorus]
Cause theme parks are so much more fun when the sun's outside
And I lost my phone to the lake beneath the Batman ride
They're starting something, and I don't want to begin it
(I don't want to begin it)
They're looking for trouble, but with me it won't be found
(With me, won't be found)
And I regret that I'm completely out of daytime minutes
(I don't want to begin it)
And, so, I guess I'll have to wait a lot til 8 o'clock comes around
Ok, so, who doesn't have a cell phone
Well, I don't need to ask my friends
Because, I know mine was fastened to my jawbone
Thanks to all those nights and weekends
[Chorus]
When it comes to relationships (I'm the dumbest one)
And I don't mean just with girls (I mean with everyone)
Your illustrations always point out just what's wrong with me
It's Chap Stick, and Chapped Lips, and things like Chemistry
It's Chap Stick, and Chapped Lips, and things like...
It's Chap Stick, and Chapped Lips, and things like...
It's Chap Stick, and Chapped Lips, and things like Chemistry
Can I relate to you the way you relate to me
Can you help me out with my chemistry
I don't want to be perceived the way I am
I just want to be perceived the way I am

The Talk Show Circuit
A blue suit with short hair
Speaking empty speech
To a tanned girl
With long legs and a beautiful mouth
A gray suit with gray hair
Speaking empty speech
To a fair skinned girl
With sexy hips and cherry red lips
A black suit with a pink tie
Speaking empty speech
To a Latin girl
In a green dress with lovely breasts
A pinstriped suit with a silver tie
Speaking empty speech
To an Asian girl
With rosy cheeks and perfect knees
…Too much television

Dealing With Depression
Depression is being lonely in a room full of people
Depression is being constantly tired but never able to sleep
Depression is longing to be with others yet not being able to cope with company
Depression makes you lose your appetite and eat yourself fat
Depression is smiling to hide the pain inside
Depression is when the soul dies but the body keeps on living
Depression is forgetting who you used to be
Depression is not knowing if you could survive without it
Depression is being sad when nothing is wrong
Depression is not caring whether you live or die
Depression is having no interest in the things you used to love
Depression is lying awake for hours in bed at night contemplating the best way to kill yourself only to realise that you can’t be bothered.

Suffocation
Last night I had the weirdest dream
I dreamt that I was lying in bed
With this girl whose hair was
As black as the night and as
Thick as a forest,
And her hair, her hair was
Smothering me
Or at least, I thought it was
Her hair,
Until I noticed it was her hands
Running over my face,
My lips
My eyes
My cheeks.
As hot as the desert
And smooth as silk
But pressing down
Pressing me into my pillow
Until I could see nothing
But the pink of her skin
And I thought,
Im gunna die
Those hands are gunna
Kill me
Until I realized really,
It wasn’t hands,
But lips,
Sucking the air from mine
Engulfing my last breath
And drawing it into her being
And I thought, well,
At least lips are
A nice way to go
Until finally I came
To my goddamn senses
And I realized,
I realized it wasn’t her lips
But the words coming
From those sweet lips
That was suffocating me
And it was “I love you”
I was choking on
Not her hair, hands or lips
At all.

Fantasy: *Characters* On Ship In Outer Space
Sitting at my desk, translating a French text
indicating right amounts of pesticide to prevent
us dying suddenly - while the characters in my head
On a ship in outer space are collecting the charred
bodies after an exploded nuclear reactor while
feeling deepest sympathy with the maimed still alive
My protagonist, with hair as black as coal, falling
to her shoulders like a silky-soft waterfall, is in a
state of shock on seeing the devastation wrecked
By technology run amuck – she also knows how
much pesticide there already was in the bodies
of the dead – I suffer from emotional fatigue
With all this going on….

Depression
They give you a pill for your depression
They say, 'It will soon go away'
They tell you it's a defect in your expression
It comes and goes like passing days
They tell you not to think in colour
'Try monochrome, or shades of grey'
They tell you not dream or think too deep
Or imagine living on a better stage
They give you a word for your depression
'feeling low or feeling blue'
They give you a place for your depression
A place they send the 'depressed to'
Of no direction, hope or purpose,
A gallery of muted faces
Who sit in silence devoid of violence
Watching the chairs and empty spaces
They send you to hell with your depression
Take your ID at the door
Relieve you of all your possessions
Leave you howling on the floor
I've seen them caged in adult cages
Past the stage of want and care
They leave them swaddled up like babies
And forget that they are even there
There is a name for depression
It's called 'extinction' learn it fast
The sand is falling quickly through,
Let's leave before the hour is past!

Oscar's Drawing
oscar draws a woman
with a long black hair
and light brown skin
holding a big Grey cat
her red lips are tight
as a bud
her cheeks do not
have a dimple
her eyes are blank
without a blink of an eyelid
very much like the cat that stares at you
when you steal a glance at it
i ask him if he can compromise a falling leaf
at the back of the woman
or a little red sparrow flying away from a branch
of a tree to a blue cloud nearby
at least there is a movement to feel the wind
or something to hear like the fluttering of a wing
as a matter of compromising
the smirk of mellowing sorrow
but he does not say any word
and without batting an eyelash
he puts in there
some old letters which he kept for quite a time
inside an old family trunk
a little bit blurred and
distant so i may never have
the chance of reading them again
something so sad maybe, but i think Oscar
knows what he is doing with the scar
he knows the ways of the
deep, the mysterious and the beautiful
