About Joy and Beauty
the ugly creatures come
crawling beneath our feet
we feel
their tiny hundred hands
above the skins
of our existence
we are tickled for a time
and then we shoo them away
we used to feed them
but we change
too
we are what we are
despite
we are the attempts about
why joy and
beauty must be
we choose
and hold....

Oobey Doop
Oobey shoo doo loo be doo
Loo fly me shoo koo doo ooh
Hey yeah!
Every time I turn around
There's another war tryin' 2 bring me down
Nobody ever told me what I'm fightin' 4
They just tell me get in line
Change my clothes, change my mind
It's 110 and I'm just gettin' bored
Maybe we should be dancin' {x2}
U make me say oobey doop be shoo ooh
Doo fly me shoo doo koo ooh
U make say oobey doop be shoo ooh
Doo fly me shoo doo koo ooh
I don't mean no disrespect
But the way I see it, this is a mess
It's got your butt in a sho'nuff dirty jam
If I could just make believe
Make U holler on your knees
Praying 4 somethin' 2 make U understand
Maybe we should be dancin' {x2}
CHORUS:
I can't help but say oobey doop be shoo ooh
Doo fly me shoo doo koo ooh
I can't help but say oobey doop be shoo ooh
Doo fly me shoo doo koo ooh
Maybe we should be dancin'
(Oobey doop be doop be shoo)
Sooner or later, your ways will tumble
Just might take an all night rumble
Might take a piece of New Power cake
But if U cut away the war, hearts will break
Hearts will break
Maybe we should be dancin'
Dance (Ooh, ooh, ooh ooh)
Every time I turn around
There's another war tryin' 2 bring me down
Nobody ever told me what I'm fightin' 4
CHORUS
Maybe we should be dancin'
{Parts of CHORUS repeat}
Baby, baby
Maybe we should be dancin'
U make me say...
Maybe we should be dancin'
Oobey doop be shoo ooh
Doo fly me shoo doo koo ooh
I can't help but say oobey doop be shoo ooh

A little Flower
A flower grew out of the ground
A tiny flower from the dirt
A tiny living soul from underground
A baby crawling from the dirt
A little innocence of wild color
A tiny spark of hope
A tiny pleasure free of charge
A flower that i called my own
A little baby ran towards it
A tiny flower crushed beneath the feet
A little human innocence
A little bliss destroyed by ignorance
A little flower dead on the ground
A little baby jumping up and down
And only me from my own window, witnessed the death of my own flower beneath the feet of blissful child without idea of his first crime...

Hello Stranger
[Cover Of Barbara Lewis' hit from 1963]
(Shoo-bop, shoo-bop, my baby)
(Shoo-bop, shoo-bop)
Hello, stranger
(ooh) It seems so good to see you back again
How long has it been?
(ooh, seems like a mighty long time)
(shoo-bop, shoo-bop, my baby, ooh)
It seems like a mighty long time
Oh-uh-oh, I my, my, my, m
I'm so glad
You stopped by to say "hello" to me
Remember that's the way it used to be
Ooh, it seems like a mighty long time
(shoo-bop, shoo-bop, my baby, ooh)
It seems like a mighty long time

Beneath Your Feet
Everyday we go outside,
to enjoy the world out there,
but we never think about,
the world beneath our feet.
It maybe tiny and microscopic,
with creatures that make some shiver.
This world is in a way
similar to the one we live in.
There are dramas there
as each creature struggles to survive.
So the next time you go
out into the garden,
stop for a moment and wonder,
at all the dramas being played out there.
The dramas of life and death,
that is just beneath your feet.

Big and tiny creatures
Big and tiny creatures, are so unique each one,
But they're so amazing each one, out in the noon day sun;
For example, look at the spider, and the web she doth make,
So clever and wonderful, and the time she doth take.
Big and tiny creatures, I am amazed each one I see,
Look at the pigmy possum, trying to hide in a tree;
It's color goes in with the background scene,
But he will cover his steps to hide where he's been.
Big and tiny creatures, do you like the tall giraffe?
To think his neck is so tall, his length is longer than a raft;
Then there's the whale, out in the huge sea,
Moaning and groaning to his mate, amazing do you agree?
Big and tiny creatures, like the tiny crab, or the large hippo,
What about the large elephant, and the tiny ant on the go;
Each one has a job to do, yet both care for their young,
They travel far, travel wide, busy in the hot sun.
Big and tiny creatures, colors some so pretty,
Such as the butterfly, and the flamingo, agree;
Then there is the snakes, and the parrots too,
We should thank God for each one, where thanks is due.

Feel Tickled With That Giggle
When you feel tickled,
And you giggle.
Don't hold it in,
Laugh back.
People try to hold onto their sadness traps.
Thinking an award is going to honor that.
And they want to sink even deeper in that crap!
Believing this activity is where they should be at.
But when you're tickled.
And then you giggle.
Don't hold it in,
Laugh back.
When you feel tickled,
And you giggle.
Don't hold it in,
Laugh back.
People try to hold onto their sadness traps.
Thinking an award is going to honor that.
And they want to sink even deeper in that crap!
Believing this activity is where they should be at.
Release it,
And...
Don't hold it in,
Laugh back.
He he he with your ha ha's.
Don't hold it in,
Laugh back.
Feel tickled with that giggle...
Don't hold it in,
Laugh back.
Release those giggles,
And...
Don't hold it in,
Laugh back.
Do the he he's...
And
Don't hold it in,
Laugh back.
With the ha ha's.
And
Don't hold it in,
Laugh back.
He he he ha ha!
And
Don't hold it in,
Laugh back.
Release those giggles,
And...
Don't hold it in,
Laugh back.
Feel tickled with that giggle...
Don't hold it in,
Laugh back.
Feel tickled with that giggle...
Don't hold it in,
Laugh back.
Feel tickled with that giggle...
Don't hold it in,
Laugh back.
When you feel really giddy?
Don't hold it in,
Laugh back.
When you feel really giddy?
Don't hold it in,
Laugh back.
When you feel really giddy?
Don't hold it in,
Laugh back.

(Depression Poem) Blood Letting Just To Feel
Blood letting just to feel.
Nothing is real.
Crawling in the dark.
Looking for an escape.
Will destiny just let be free.
In constant debt.
A slave to an system that knows no regret.
Your just so god damn insufficient.
Nothing absolutely nothing.
A march of the blind.
At war with everyone for just an tiny bit of breathing room.
Someone just let me out.
Blood letting just to feel.
Nothing is real.
Crawling in the dark looking for an escape.
Will destiny just let be free.
I'm on my knees praying to a god
i don't even believe in.
Just for a chance at a better existence.
One where i can run above the clouds.
Without having to worry about falling so far down.
So suddenly i hit the ground.
Got to run for cover.
Blood letting just to feel.
Nothing is real.
Crawling in the dark looking for an escape.
Will destiny just let me be free.
Maybe with a little more agony.
Pain turns into pleasure.
It becomes the systems measure.
Walk a mile in denial.
No willingness to face it faithfully,
honestly, and wholeheartedly.
Blood letting just to feel.
Nothing is real.
Crawling in the dark looking for an escape.
Will destiny ever let me be free.
Take your shackles and chains.
I just will not play this game.
See the writing on the wall thats my name.
Yes i was here but now i'm gone just so far gone.
Lost in space and time.
Searching for something i will probably never find.
Its just too late its already gone, already gone.
Blood letting just to feel.
Nothing is real.
Crawling in the dark looking for an escape.
Will destiny ever let me be free.
All i have ever wanted is that
i promised an was so wrongfully denied.

We Make The Weather
Heaven is a somewhere locked inside and I must find the key
Wish Id never locked the door
Ordinary things in life are where this heaven likes to be
Hold the sky, feet on the floor
Hold the sky, feet on the floor
We make our sun to shine
We make our space and time
We make the weather
We make it change
Hell is not somewhere but a state of mind I choose to be
When my faith in life has gone
Cruelty rebounds to hurt itself puts shackles on the free
Vicious circle carries on
Hold the sky, feet on the floor
We make our sun to shine
We make our space and time
We make the weather
We make it change
We make the weather
We make it change
Time to judge the act dont judge the actor of the circumstance
Time to free compassions world
Life is not the end were passing through like bubbles on the sea
Time to learn and time to mend
Hold the sky, feet on the floor
We make our sun to shine
We make our space and time
We make the weather
We made a change
We make the weather
We make a change

In The Still Of The Night (I'll Remember)
do do do do
shoo doop shooby doo
shoo doop shooby doo
shoo doop shooby doo
shoo doop shooby waa
in the still of the night
i held you
held you tight
oh i love
love you so
promise i'll never
let you go

i remember that night in may
when the stars were right up above
i hope and i pray
to keep your precious love
so before the night
hold me again
with all of your might
in the still the night
in the still of the night
shoo doop shooby doo

Surgery
I can change I can cut it open
Look at me the way you did before
I can change
diagnose the symptom
buy the anecdote but not the cure
Hold me under
cut away this empty
Hold me under
change the way I feel about you
I can change
I'll correct the defect
repair the injury called you and me
I can change
I'll surrender to it
I can suffer with the best of them
Hold me under
cut away this empty
Hold me under
change the way I feel about you
I can't change
I'll replace the decay
make you second guess your everyday
I can't change
I'll survey the damage
Kill the narcissist with his reflection
until tomorrow
Hold me under
cut away this empty
Hold me under
change the way I feel about you
Hold me under
cut away this empty
Hold me under
change the way I feel about you
until tomorrow

To have a feel of my food
To have the feel of my food not just the taste of it in my tongue
I use my bare hands, the rice I fold between my palms the fish
I touch with my fingers, and then my mouth opens to swallow and savor
Just like you tonight, I feel you with my bare hands I taste you
With my tongue because you are the food of my soul and my soul
Feeds on you as you also feed on mine
We are bare all over, not just our bare hands
We touch we feel we lick we breath with our noses
On our skins, we feed on our flesh, we go deeper
Into our souls, our eyes feast on the food we lay in front of us
The lights of our eyes open in our room the festivity to a beginning
We feed on ourselves we are hungry & greedy & we are never full

Slow Down
Written by dan peek, 1977
Found on harbor.
I hear you knockin but you cant come in
You wear your stockings like you think its a sin
Dont try to tell me you aint been where you been
cause I know that youve been messin round with him
So slow down
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Come on down
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Oh down
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Before it gets too late
Before it gets too late
I met you dancin at the high school gym
You rubbed against me my head started to spin
You turned around gave me a wink and a grin
And then you told me that youd like to be friends
Dont slow down
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Dont slow down
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Dont slow down
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Dont slow down
Before it gets too late
Before it gets too late
Take it!
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
On down
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
On down
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Dont try to tell me
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Youll never sell me
(bop shoo wop, youd better slow down)
Before it gets too late
I said before it gets too late
You know before it gets too late
Oh, hey

how i wish the world is blind to see me naked and broken
they always say
ever since i was small
this little boy is ugly
he will not have a promising future
(did they think that i better be thrown
to the sea and be eaten by sharks
or to the forest so i can be the prey
to those predators?)
they let me live, however,
thanks, nonetheless, and i have grown to be what i am
ugly
learning to live this way
ugly
time however has told me a different story
about the ugliness that lies only on the surface of
things, and living memories have grown in me
the seeds
some possibilities
for beauty
like i can grow a mind of my own
like i can be cultivated like a beautiful flower
of my choosing
in my own garden
like i can have the possibility of
a sweet scent
or i can be a slender plant that will bear
some luscious fruits
to feed the world and make it feel
that i can
quench its thirst
or satisfy its hunger
i have learned patiently
how to be a better possibility and long time ago
when i undressed myself
removing some layers of sadness
and confusion
skin upon skin upon skin
i was once afraid of everything
the windows
the cracks and the crevices
i was once afraid of the hundred eyes of this world
those walls barring me
those writings on the fences of my existence
shouting that
i am ugly
(that i do not have the right to live
or anything to live with)
i go naked again
time places another mirror at the center of my
thoughts,
to see another me
i am beautiful
in my nakedness
now, i do not wish anymore a blind world
so it can see the unfolding
the coming of my
thousand possibilities like some kind winds
white sea caps and gentle sands,
i am beautiful and i really know it now
by heart
this confident soul undressed and still so beautiful.
that you, my lovely world,
must start to see.

Early Works - Near The Close Of Day
The crimson sunset breezes
dawn lines across the water
as dinghies nudge their moorings
in the quiet of the evening.
We sit in stillness on a hillside
the world beneath our feet
a closing day before us
seems all within our reach.
The last forays of gulls,
across the quiet waters
way beneath our feet,
as time stand still around us.
The creatures of the daylight
find a place to sleep
we watch the beauty before us
change moment to moment.
Shadows creep across the landscape
near the closing of the day
soon night will be upon us
and the moon will send shafts of silver.
Across the stilled waters of our little bay,
we will retire to ours beds
and wait for the coming day
whose sunshine again
will warm the ground.

A Poem About Excitement To Something Huge And Spread Like Space
i am tiny, like a nit
wit, and i look at you
spread like wall paper on the wall
something is beautiful there
like a face
something in there excites me
like a pulse on my wrist
i am tiny and i feel so tiny
watching you
like a wall paper on the wall, you
are indifferent
i am excited like a chick hatching from
a shell
i am growing feathers
like a chicken
something in you is so huge like a world
that i have never been
i am excited like a puppy to my master
getting out of his car
i love this feeling, this tiny feeling
this world that is expanding
you are my world now, and i fall into
a regret,
when tiny becomes lost
and when the hands melt while groping for the
truth
about beauty that is lost
about existence that is deleted
simply because you are too huge
like space
and i, this atom, unseen,
colliding,
invincible, and now unknown.

Dark Seclusion
I see darkness-
Could it be my fear?
I hear someone scream-
Could it be me?
I feel pain-
Could it be my own?
I feel the ground harden beneath my feet?
I hear tears falling
One by one
Sparkle as gemstones as they
Hit the ground,
Tiny tap dancers, or
Perhaps hailstones-
Maybe
The universe collapsing or
The world, caving in,
Could it be mine?
I see light
Creep through the crack
Beneath the door
Perhaps the sun has risen,
Could it be the light of day?
I see the darkness once more
Could the sun have gone under –?
I feel pain, as
The ground has fallen out from
Beneath my feet,
Tiny tap dancers are weeping,
Gemstones have transformed to gravel,
Hailstones are falling hard,
My world has just caved in, and
My rising sun
Has just
Burnt
Out…

The Creature Crawling
The creature crawling don't know when he'll arrive
Don't know if creature is dead or alive
All of god's creatures have the will to survive
Did you know about that ?
Did you know about all that ?
The creature crawling
The creature crawling
The creature crawling and he's coming up the road
He's crawling over to your area code
Crawling through the grass of your little abode
Did you know about that ?
Did you know about that ?
Did you know about all that ?
Whatcha gonna say ?
Whatcha gonna do ?
What goes around it comes around
One fine day
Look around
There will be nothing but you

My Polly
My Polly's varry bonny,
Her een are black an breet;
They shine under her raven locks,
Like stars i'th' dark o'th' neet.
Her little cheeks are like a peach,
'At th' sun has woo'd an missed;
Her lips like cherries, red an sweet,
Seem moulded to be kissed.
Her breast is like a drift o' snow,
Her little waist's soa thin,
To clasp it wi' a careless arm
Wod ommost be a sin.
Her little hands an tiny feet,
Wod mak yo think shoo'd been
Browt up wi' little fairy fowk
To be a fairy queen.
An when shoo laffs, it saands as if
A little crystal spring,
Wor bubblin up throo silver rocks,
Screened by an angel's wing.
It saands soa sweet, an yet soa low,
One feels it forms a part
Ov what yo love, an yo can hear
Its echoes in yor heart.
It isn't likely aw shall win,
An wed soa rich a prize;
But ther's noa tellin what strange things
Man may do, if he tries.
