A Thing
a things smooth and
as fragile as
china
when you left
untouched it cracks
shatters on the floor
unpicked.

China

China, china, on the sea shore
China, china, on the dance floor
China, china, I must have seen your face before
Ive been to cairo and Ive been to khartoum
Ive seen them places from my rented room
Ive been to paris and Ive been to marseille
But that was nothing till I got to cathay
Ive been to new york and Ive been to l.a.
Ive been to delhi and Ive been to bombay
Ive been to venice and Ive been to rome
But now its peking that I think of as home
China, china, on the sea shore
China, china, on the dance floor
China, china, theres no finer place on earth
China, china, I must have seen your face before

(Heart Still) Shatters
Lie about feeling small
Low about standing up ever tall
For there's nothing like a brawl
Guess heart still shatters to crawl
Heart still shatters
Heart still shatters to crawl
Heart still shatters
Heart still shatters to crawl
For I'm not feeling whole
Only now I don't know wish to crawl
Denial of the love being ever minimal
Guess heart still shatters to crawl
Heart still shatters
Heart still shatters to crawl
Heart still shatters
Heart still shatters to crawl
Never wanted you to ignore this plea
Even no golden marquee
Every day passes not feeling free
Guess heart still shatters to see
Heart still shatters
Heart still shatters to see
Heart still shatters
Heart still shatters to see
Letting me forget priority
A memory passes over recently
So hurt now but so easily
Guess heart still shatters to see
Heart still shatters
Heart still shatters to see
Heart still shatters
Heart still shatters to see
But now I struggle to even adore
A hope goes out open doors
Left feeling like that of sore
Guess heart still shatters to ignore
Heart still shatters
Heart still shatters to ignore
Heart still shatters
Heart still shatters to ignore
For unsure what's in store
May leave me feeling unsure
Here life isn't yet pure
Guess heart still shatters to ignore
Heart still shatters
Heart still shatters to ignore
Heart still shatters
Heart still shatters to ignore

Maalaala Mo Kaya?
in worship of the truth
love bends
the chaos begins
the porcelain shatters
and she picks the
pieces piecing them
all again
the cracks insist
that this is something wrong
waste of so much pain
she insists on the power
of truth's liberation
she bows to take all
the consequences
the writer of the story
makes the truth victorious
and love is regained
the pieces back to their places
the family is whole again
in real life however i wonder
what if she just kept things to herself
conceals the truth for good
and no one should have been shattered
just like what my mother did
then there would have been no story after all
no one would have been listening
for an hour or more
wondering what happens to truth at the
last episode
mother was indeed different
for like the earth she believes that not all
need not be known
some things that hurt may better be left
unknown unsaid untouched
i guess i agree with her
underneath this earth some magma keeps the fury
at the surface the earth keeps the peace
the harmony and the moment

Untitled Manifestations
The mirror that you look shatters when the words that you breathed are conveyed.
The mirror that you look shatters to millions when your eyes are set to the one thing that you cant get.
The mirror that you look shatters to millions when your heart turned black to the things that you assumed incompatible.
The mirror that you look fucking obviously shatters to gazillions when you try to smile beautifully where in reality you are actually tarnished and tainted and with so much more indescribable thoughts on your face from the things that reflected you.

China (Ronson Vocal)
China, China, the evening's moving in
See you, soon now, the boat moves with the wind
China, China, I can see the harbour lights
Light your, fire, we'll be warm tonight
China, China, the thoughts drift from the sea
I'm dreaming, of you, wear your dress for me
China, China, the oceans on the wheel(?)
The seagulls flying lower now
China I can feel you by my side
Across the bay, across the Tyne
Can you hear me say
China, China, wear your hair down low
Lady, Lady, you're frozen to the bone
China, China, the catch was good today
The oilskins clinging to my back
And the lantern gently sways
Oh don't you cry, the kids to bed
Didn't mean the things I said
China, China, the years go rolling by
Laughter, sorrow, I will not make you cry
China, China, think before you speak
Always remember the ocean hauls as deep
And if I'm tired of feeling low
Don't let me sleep, you know
China, China, the men are on the quay
Drinking, smoking, talking quietly
The water's calmer now
All my work is done
So China, see ya.

If You're Dreaming
of flowers don't forget their roots
unpicked their fragrance gives birth to your breath
untouched their colours know the deepest blue
not searched for they come like wild lambs
to make the whole house out of your door

Waiting for the box.
Submerging her best China in the box,
she sensed she'd never see it, from that day.
Condemned to languish with her summer frocks
in dusty attic corners, left to fray.
She wondered who would find them when she'd gone,
who'd marvel at the history within?
Or would their interest lay more upon
the newspapers which they were wrapped up in?
These fragile treasures, swiftly stored away
lest children's fingers carelessly may roam.
The next time that they see the light of day,
she'd probably be living in a home.
She stopped, she smiled and giggled to herself...
then plopped that China back up on the shelf.

The Rose
Sometimes you come upon a unpicked wild rose
And sometimes you come upon people
Who are beautiful like an unpicked wild rose
There so beautiful and smell so great
But somehow seem much more beautiful
Every time you look at them
And when you come upon a rose that's unpicked
You can't help but want to cut the rose off
And carry it around and show it off
We all know roses have thorns on them
But there so beautiful that you
Must have one for your own
So you try and cut a rose off
And get pricked on your finger
You bleed but you still keep trying
After you get the rose
You run home
To show it off
You eventually get a band-aid to cover the prick
Where the rose bit you
After you take the band-aid off you see the scar
It eventually goes away in time
But you will always remember
Where the rose bit you
But it doesn't stop you
From trying to get another
Beautiful rose
And If The Mirror Cracks
And if the mirror cracks, why worry?
It’s only the reflection that is marred;
Originals remain intact and crystal clear.
And if the mirror splits, why panic?
There’s twice the value, twice repeated truth
To show those gems of insight that we seek.
And if the mirror shatters into shards, don’t weep:
Since dazzling diamonds can still decorate the floor.
Illuminating all the room with wisdom’s light.

Food and hunger go wasted
Cheep is she, who I can get.
But to get access, my pride forbids.
The other is worthy to befriend.
But to get her, her pride forbids.
The withered fruits lie unpicked.
The hanging fruits are untouched.
The fruits are in decay.
My hunger is in dismay.

Slowcar To China
Shell take a slowcar to china
Shell pay the rent for the use of you
Shell take a slowcar to china
Shell pay the rent for the use of you tonight.
We are not afraid to love, but no new ideas
You almost get used to such things you know.
The mechanics on the phone again, we break down.
The others youd remember if I could spare some time.
In love with this elegant bitch
And here am I just a shy young fool
In love with this elegant bitch
She only sparkles at times for you tonight.
She forgets that we know,
She forgets who we are
I suppose the things I overheard were quite by chance
The only story I ever knew or cared for
Best left unheard I suppose, dont you?
You look for somewhere to start to look
Well take a slowcar to china
Everything that you need is here
Well take a slowcar to china
Everything that you need is here tonight.
I forgot not to call,
And now were out of love.
Shell take a slowcar to china
A little green worm inside my head
Shell take a slowcar to china
A little green worm inside my head tonight.
Theres nothing much to keep us alive, but dance.
All that she can say is goodbye. all things change I suppose
Well sing without voice, without heart and leave no address
I well never ever see you again. I know.
Dont take a slowcar to china
She needed nothing and no one so
Dont take a slowcar to china
She needed nothing and no one here tonight.
You will pay like before.
Always one step behind.
You will pay mr jones.
Always one step away.
Theres no one here to leave you behind but me.

Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid
I feel like I could run away
Looking at a darker day
Oh Im pulling the shades away from my eyes
Its true the moody manners come and go
And its better that you never know
Some things are better left unsaid
Some strings are better left undone
Some hearts are better left unbroken
Some lives are better left untouched
Some lies are better off believed
Some words are better left unspoken
My ideas seem to frighten you
Are you really that afraid to move
Oh I guess that its your right to reason
Im still dealing with a force thats so strong
The force is stringing us along

Year 2347
The human race has long died out.
The night is hot, the air is polluted beyond cleansing.
Animals cover in the filth we left.
The sun is trying so hard to shine,
Through smoke covering a purple sky.
Now what has happened to all we saw good?
The wall in China crumbled to dust,
Eiffel tower begun to rust.
What has become of the mine of Geita?
I lies covered by vines, gold stolen by people now dead.
And what of the seas?
They long died all but one, the Atlantic still heaves before the dawn.
Dolphin skeletons lay next to Titanic,
The cracks in the ocean floor fill with sand.
And how long will all this take?
I do not know, but for your sake,
I must say a long time yet,
Year 2347 give or take.

Living In China
They got the red book, they got the new look
All the little people that are living in china
They got the answers to all the questions
All the little people that are living in china
The solution is revolution
For all of the little people that are living in china
They got ping pong egg foo yung
For all the little people that are living in china
What would chairman mao say, if he knew what theyre doing to his wife today
What did china do? she ordered out for submarines instead of chinese food
China fields of rice, modern man no longer evil hes a paradise
What did the chairman want?
A great big wall they could all watch orientals on
They got the red book, they got the new look
The little people that are living in china
They got the answers to all the questions
The little people that are living in china
The solution is revolution
For all the little people that are living in china
They got ping pong egg foo yung
All the little people that are living in china
What would chairman mao say
If he knew what his people think of him today
Revolution is out of hand
The gang of four, trying to make it as a western band
China, what do you need
Youve got everything from your scruffy head to dirty feet
China you want to dance
Youre wearing makeup and listening to adam and the ants
They got the new look, they got the red book,
All the little people that are living in china
They got the answers to all the questions
All the little people that are living in china
The solution is revolution
For all the little people that are living in china
They got ping pong egg foo yung
The little people that are living in china
The solution is revolution
They got the answers to all the questions
All the little people that are living in china
China, living in china
China, living in china
China, living in china

Hello And Goodbye
he pops out and says hello
you must know by now that
that is what he only wanted
you know what he will say
next: thank you and goodbye
he will find many excuses
a story to write, a friend to invite
a poem to read alone with him
alone admiring the smooth flow
of the words and then he disappears
for in truth he does not like the crowd
though he misses it
most of the time
he knows that he cannot be there
dissolve and be gone
he tried it once
had a drink or two then danced his way in the middle of the dancing floor
with all the lights blinking in shifting colors
he was shouting with all joy and lost himself until he fell in the same
dancing floor
his eyes will not close
they stared at the blinking lights
they thought he was dead
indeed he too thought that he cannot live anymore
he shatters in the limelight
like specks of dust scattering every bit of himself
he learns his lesson
now he makes the limits
marks the boundaries of his being
knows the fence
and the entrance and exit
he looks from a distance and then makes his sure steps
towards his own death

She's Breakable
She's breakable
She's fragile
Will you catch her if she falls?
Better watch what you say
She takes things the hard way
She's breakable
She's fragile
Will you keep her all togeather?
The wind will blow her away
If she thinks doesn't you want her to stay
She's breakable
She's fragile
Will you keep her heart from pain?

Fragile (demo 1998)
Four o'clock in the morning
I close my eyes and consider you
Is this some kind of warning
To let me know you're just passing through my life?
It's a good place to be
For someone like you to take solace in me
This is my fragile reality
For someone as eager as you
Can break me in threes
And break through my needs
To get to the dirt
You learned how to hurt... me
Six o'clock in the evening
I brush my hair and will you to know
Is this some kind of teasing?
And are you prepared to be half as true as you try,
As you try hard to be?
Someone so cautious and careful and free
And why are you waiting for me?
You're steady and stable and able to be close to me
I'm strapped to my seat
The tables have turned
You know how they burn right through me
Why do you wrestle with my right to be different from you?
Why do you settle for me if it's not what you wanted to do?
I'm fragile too
I'm fragile too
I'm fragile too
Only with you
Four o'clock in the morning
I hold your head and take care of you
Are these symptoms of touring?
Did someone you love leave you black and blue?
Sometime, somewhere I'll never be
Aware of misfortunes and torture and grief
This life is a good place to be
For someone as fragile as you
I'm fragile too
I'm fragile too
I'm fragile too
But only with you
Only with you
I'm fragile too
But only with you
Only with you
I'm fragile too
But only with you
I'm fragile too (7x)
But only with you
Only with you
I'm fragile too
But only with you.

Like China
My mom and daddy both say
I must be crazy to be this infatuated
But I know you know
We got something special never felt before
You get me going just looking at you
And the feelings not hard to recognise so
Alright Ill come out in the open with it
Will you walk out with me.
Cos youre the first girl Ive ever loved
Tell me do you feel the same way
Well Ill show you Im not like all the rest
Cos I know who I am
Your skin is smooth as silk and your eyes like stars
Youre just like a picture book standing there
But I cant go on
No, I cant go on thinking you dont feel the same way that I do
Ill be so careful Ill hold you like china
Ill promise not to hurt you Ill hold you like china
You wont feel nothing, Ill hold you like china
cos I know its your first time
Your mum and dad dont like me
And they tell me every time I call around to see you
I dont know why
Cos I always straighten my tie and comb my hair
I know your brother thinks that
Im a limp wristed wimp from the other side of town
I know hes got me wrong
Because Im really not like that, Ill tell you why
Youre the first girl Ive ever loved
Tell me do you feel the same way
Well Ill show you Im not like all the rest
cos I know who I am
I remember the very first time I held your hand
And that was the last time you were so close to me
But I cant go on
No, I cant go on thinking you dont feel the same way as I do
Ill be so careful Ill hold you like china
Ill promise not to hurt you Ill hold you like china
You wont feel nothing, Ill hold you like china
cos I know its your first time
I know you know and now I want to, I want to tell everybody
I know you know and now I want them all to see...

Room 205
What could walls tell now of Dylan Thomas
speak to me of love and death
of madness of a kind he sometimes knew
beneath the paper cracks of genius
nothing left in his decay only
ghostly words once played so well
on an old typewriter with some letters lost
and he blunted by another whisky
embraced a welcome rush to die
and cut the loss
as floor boards squeak in vain
little drama left to fit
the bill in Hotel Chelsea.
