A Heavy Rain
the rain falls heavily
at six o'clock in the evening
you are stranded in an
island of the city road
you have no umbrella
your car got stuck
with the flood and your
cell phone is dead
you have no plans
you think of the past.

To Write Truthfully About The Rain
i must be here when the rain falls
heavily and when the waters rise
above canals and manholes
where what i see is water everywhere
when the rain does not stop
i must cross this street to another
street taking the middle of this flooded ways
without an umbrella
without my clothes on
the rain falls in all freedom
to the pores of my body
penetrating the thickness of my hair
my mouth drinks its drops
my ears take some more
i may be blinded and even be deaf
let the rain fall freely & heavily on my body
only then can i truthfully write about this rain
this walk this wetness this freedom this oneness
on the world that cries on these drops these tears

To Different People
it is about to rain
the clouds are dark and heavy
along the road
two people are quarreling
about their having forgotten
the umbrella
the goat is tied on the tree
and the cow is looking
for escape
when the rain falls
the driver of the car that got
stuck on the canal
is cursing
on the other side
the children are playing and shouting
they all love
the first rain of summer

Cell Phone Mania
Cell phones to the right,
Cell phones to the left,
Cell phones, cell phones,
everywhere I look.
Red alert, stop! Listen,
shut up and drive,
shut up and read,
Cell phones, why so many.
Everyone talking,
cell phones in cars,
cell phones in bars,
eating places, cell phones.
There you can't escape
from them, you say
to yourself, the restroom,
no one would dare
use cell phone in there,
oh no, I hear someone,
talking to me, I answer them,
oh, sorry sir, did not know you
were on cell phone.
Oh, so many,
shut up, and walk.
Do away with cell phones,
and it would be like,
the crash of '29'.
People need cell phones,
sometimes their nice,
to have, but so many,
cell phones, might
as well join them
if you can't lick 'em,
join them.
Cell phone, cell phone
now how do I use this
thing, oh cell phone, cell phone,
Hello, Hello, oh that's
you mert.

Umbrella Man
When the sun just refuses to shine on through
And its cats and doggies all over you
You need some protection so what do you do
See the umbrella man
Go and see the umbrella man
When its raining - umbrella man, umbrella man
You can see him when its sunny, when the rain comes down
You ought to find a corner where hes always found
A reflection in a puddle, just turn around
To see the umbrella man
Go and see the umbrella man
When its raining - umbrella man, umbrella man
There are some things in life on which you can depend
Dont try to guess when itll rain again
You dont have to worry cause youve got a friend
Come see the umbrella man
I will be your umbrella man
When its raining - umbrella man
Go and see the umbrella man
Dont forget the umbrella man
When its raining - umbrella man
I will be your umbrella man, umbrella man

Nowheresville
I wanna see paris
Insane on the sine
I wanna do that bull run thin in spain
I wanna go to england
And walk down penny lane
Half a pint an island
May wash away my pain
Im stuck in mud
Spinning my wheels
And Im all alone
On the road
To nowheresville
I wanna meet a little girl
With french horn lips
And introduce her to my trip
Ill make her smile on the nile
Hold her hand in japan
But last things first for all my plans
Im stuck in mud
Spinning my wheels
And Im all alone
On the road
To nowheresville
Im on my way
Im almost nowhere
Im almost everything I swore Id never be
When I get there
Then Ill go somehwere
Im going to pay my last repsects and get the
Hell out of there
Out of nowhere
Im stuck in mud
Spinning my wheels
And Im all alone
On the road
To nowheresville
Spinning my wheels
And Im all alone on the road to nowheresville
Nowheresville

Sit By The River
Sit By the River
The dripping tap, ticking clock, the long nights
when unwanted memories surface on gloomy
waters, and my past creeps nearer and future
hides in a Saragossa mist, together they push
me nearer a non existence. Sad morning light,
rain falls like an old man’s tears when all ships
have sailed and he is stranded on the island he
shares with snakes and scorpions knowing they
will soon eat him. Driftwood in the sea of life,
I never was a master of my destiny, but I can do
a last brave thing, walk into the Savannah night
and eaten by lions or, with my luck, wolfed by
hooting hyenas, so I will stay where I’m, my
last act of cowardice, sit by the river and wait.

Rainy Day
Rainy Day
It was eight in the morning when I heard
a car door slam and a car drive off.
It rained all day and it soothed my nerves
to hear water trickle down old roof tiles;
stuck indoors, I didn't have an umbrella.
Five o'clock, afternoon, the car returned
and the same door slammed shut,
the rain continued, the water trickling
was a Geneva Convention offence; utterly
bored now and still without an umbrella.

The Day's Plans Go Awry
It's wet out there, the rain rolls in,
The day's plans go awry,
It's wet out there, the rain rolls in,
The tears that God must cry.
'Hey Mom, what's rain, what makes it fall? '
Asked Zachary, sincere.
'When will it stop, will it at all?
I can't be stuck in here.'
It's wet out there, the rain rolls in,
The day's plans go awry,
It's wet out there, the rain rolls in,
As God begins to cry.
'It's God's tears, my son, he must weep,
For all of us on earth.
The pain we feel, we cannot keep,
Ourselves alone from birth.'
It's wet out there, the rain rolls in,
The day's plans go awry,
It's wet out there, the rain rolls in,
For our pain God must cry.
'But Mom, God's cried, every day,
He must be getting weak.
Tell him to laugh, that's what I'd say,
And try that for a week.'
It's wet out there, the rain rolls in,
The day's plans go awry,
It's wet out there, the rain rolls in,
Why do we make him cry?
'But ah, my son, you do not know,
How much hurt God has felt.
So our Father, he has to show,
Us what our pain has dealt.'
It's wet out there, the rain rolls in,
The day's plans go awry.
It's wet out there, the rain rolls in,
God doesn't want to cry.
'So Mom, then why, do we hurt God?
How can we be so bad?
Why do we hurt each other too?
We know it makes him sad.'
It's wet out there, the rain rolls in,
The day's plans go awry,
It's wet out there, the rain rolls in,
The tears that God must cry.

Dear wife
I work so hard
I have no time for supper, breakfast, and dinner
Got a cracker and a noodle
A little solid a little hot liquid Are enough since I need a lot of time
Before my computer And this is non-stop working for the whole day
My cell phone is on silent mode and I cannot open it
I work the whole day, concentrated and straight It is eleven o’clock in the evening I arrive in the house and you say a lot of things I do not care anymore as I drag my dead tired body Towards the room and eyes half-closed I almost stepped upon your expensive porcelain vase
I lay on bed my shoes and sock still on my feet I did know anything since then Dead tired I am dead asleep.
If you are unhappy and do not like me
Find the man who is not tired, just leave me I am dead asleep.
i am just your loving husband, tomorrow i will still be your loving husband, yes tomorrow, even if you decided to go away.

You Sit On The Car And Call Yourself, Stupid
you sit inside the car
as i drive on this busy road
in the city, on some dangerous
intersections, and you hold your hair
with your left hand
leaning on the mirror
seeing the flow of people
on the pedestrian lane
and you quip,
why do you love a stupid
woman like me?
i focus myself on the road
and it begins to rain
and people are running
everywhere seeking
for shelter
you ask,
do you really love me?
i am sorry
putting you on this mess.
i am really sorry,
tears begin to roll
from your eyes
the rain goes heavily on
the glass and i cannot clearly
see the road
it is dark and i turn on the
front lights and drive
the car slowly on the side
of the road. I stop
for a while,
it is hazy, i said.
and i just love to kiss you.

Rain Show
Chennai city
At south india
On the road
Rain was on the way
Town buses
Go slow too slow
At road
A road poblem
In side the bus
Rain rain drops rain
Come again
Travalling people...
Simply taken
The umberlaw
At inside the bus
With a rain!
How is the rain show?

The Ant Empire
on the side of
an old mango tree
the ants built their empire
of
soft sand and
porous soil where they
hid their Queen
where the soldiers
heavily guard
where every worker
brings the food
one night
a heavy rain falls
and flood comes
and the empire
in an instant
is gone
the Queen is nowhere to be found
the soft sands level like a desert
the porous soil nothing but mud
the soldiers all dead.

Sorry, Wrong Number
Those handy little Cell phones have changed
They do things now that can enthrall.
They play music, games and take pictures too
They can even make a phone call.
And if voice mail is not enough
You can type a text that‘s wordy
By using the little keyboard
That’s much too small but QWERTY.
With all of the things Cell phones can do
There’s just one thing I am berating.
It is what this little device has done,
For the wonderful word of dating.
When on a first time dinner date
And her Cell phone rings
It can be a harbinger
Of what the future brings.
Depending on her reaction
You’ll soon find out your fate.
Whether it will be an early evening
Or you’ll be getting home very late.
This is a human application
That can cause one to burn.
But, better than going to the ladies room
With her never to return.

Stranded on a Sandbar
I enjoy this life as a jester
Seems to keep me movin around
Like the wind that blows
Tide that flows
Have my ups and downs
All a part of some strange plan Im sure
Start a new chapter each day
Honey, love gets lost, time gets tossed
cause weve both got our own different ways
Chorus:
I feel like Im stranded on a sandbar
Stuck in my tracks like a street car
Playin it for all that its worth
Im just payin for my sins on earth
Now I used to go crazy for days at a time
Now Im takin my time with my days
Havent found the answers like some that I know
Im just stuck in a fairly nice maze
Climb to the top of the island tonight
Sit beneath the cashew tree
I want to count the stars, lights on the cars
That are shinin up and down on me
Chorus:
I feel like Im stranded on a sandbar
Baby Im stuck in my tracks like a street car
Playin it for all that its worth
Im just payin for my sins on earth
Chorus:
I feel like Im stranded on a sandbar
Sugar Im stuck in my tracks like a street car
Playin it for all that its worth
Im just payin for my sins on earth
Coda:
I enjoy this life as a jester
Seems to keep me movin around

Rain
The logic of rain
Is that when it comes it makes
And always makes the road wet.
Can the rain be illogical at any time?
Can the road also conspire? So that
When it rains the road would have its way
Of not getting wet, and you are somehow
Confused
And reason out that this cannot be true
And that logic
Will always be faithful to you.
Beware. The time comes when the road
Deceives you. It deceived you once, and I can
Deceive you some more
You always walked on it
With a raincoat
When the rain came
The road hid
In the flood of your asphyxiated mind.

An Island Or A City
is he an island or a city
he wonders through his world
not knowing the words
if an island or a city
lost time
and
losing life
in search of a dream
that was never dreamt-
from happy to sad
but never being glad
changing like the days and dates
that will never come back.
nor an island or a city
is left
but the dust, in the wind
don’t go in search of a dream,
that was never dreamt!
Was it an island
or
a city
