You and I

I see a glass
Half empty
And I see your hands
Filling an emptiness
That I have
Invented.

I am empty now
And then
You fill me
Up to the brim

I am overflowing
And here you
Are
In the full blast
Of your lust
That you
Invented
Licking me
From the
Bottom
Beyond the brim.

In My Silence I Am Breaking

i am an empty vessel
why not fill me up a little
with your cool water

it will really matter
i am an empty vessel
for a long time now
wanting to be contained
in your fullness
you may please
fill me up to my brim
if it is possible with you
fill me with your cool waters
let me overflow
with your love
and understanding

in my emptiness
i am howling
in my silence
i am breaking

The progress

Cooking invented, I have lost my teeth.
Tools invented, I have lost my hands
Carts invented, I have lost my legs
Electricity invented, I have lost my sight.
Calculator invented, I have lost counting.
Computer invented, I have lost faculty
Internet come, I lost neigbours.
Is mankind on march to stability?

Bottom Of The Glass

You think that you have found a way to ease your troubled mind
You fill a glass, then drink it down and fill it one more time
Well, the wine will flow and the pain will go but the spell will never last
Youll never find the answer in the bottom of the glass
Youll never find the answer in the bottom of the glass
Well, the bottom of the glass is just as empty as your life
You know it holds no secret way to help you in your strife
But for a while youre in another world and you wake up in the past
Youll never find the answer in the bottom of the glass
Youll never find the answer in the bottom of the glass
...glass
That bottle there is not your friend when its gone it leaves you cold
The strength it gives you slips away for its something you cant hold
Your hands will shanke and then youll take another from the flask
But youll never find the answer in the bottom of the glass
Youll never find the answer in the bottom of the glass
Youll never find the answer in the bottom of the glass
Youll never find the answer in the bottom of the glass

Something More Beautiful Than A Well With Water

we always want a well full of water
like a glass to its brim

there is more beauty somehow
to a well running out of water
the hollowness beneath
the sound of the wind
filling its emptiness

much different than the dripping
of the rain
from a rooftop
where one may feel so safe inside

the darkness of the bottom
the dryness of the soil
beneath

it is in there that some real voices speak
the one that you have not
heard

they are so deep and real that they cannot
refuse to tell you the truth

it is like someone is moaning
and you feel that you are one of them seeking
the voice of God

One On One With An Empty Glass

the final confrontation is finally set on the table
the mantel still pretends to be clean
the morsels are polite and the empty glass is civil

just a while ago, it was filled with water
up to the brim and now it is thirsty again
and it stares at me begging for more
but i give it silence hoping that it shall remember
what origin it has
from the department store

it stares at me and threatens me with the pain of emptiness
it does not move
giving me the semblance of an earth that stops to spin
nothing falls and the possibility of freezing is pestering me

i lay my hand on the chest telling it that i am not at all disturbed
i listen to the rhythmic beatings of my heart
i bite my lips like bread using my teeth
i close my eyes and begin my journey inward
my gut

i remember the sound of the broken glass
i recall how i sweep the shattered pieces
i still picture myself digging a hole and burying what should be forgotten

i do not sleep and i do not dream much
i breathe more air and then i awaken all my senses
the glass is empty still and it is there to manifest a surrender

i have learned to fill my lungs with air
the moments pass away taking all that i have and now
i am full.

Sunset Heighting Aire

Barley sixteen and half unseen,
Who in battle engaged and never gave up,
When a sunset heights the air,
Tree's swaying, standing bare,
Like in that there,
Place of feelings where-
A sunset heights the are
Half empty filling up the day,
Empty empty full of rays,
A sunset heights the air,
The menacing mighty wind where,
This there place of feelings was,
Half empty, half full.

Realizing Reality...

we have been filled
to the brim
our contents are overflowing
what is it that we can choose?
except to
empty what is full
to discard what we think we can
we do not rationalize anymore
there is simply no place for
this
at this time of the
state of our affairs
when we are moving without an exact direction
where we have to confess
that all our compasses
are broken
our fingers do not point
to the north
the skies are cloudy
and cold
in such a paradox
of cold
and heat
all co-existing
actually we must profess
that understanding had always
been at a loss
the confusion is gaining ground
and then we
begin to understand
we walk cool
there is no rush
our minds are empty
and we have
become
so confident
saying this is it
this after all is the truth of my existence
this purposeless life
this non-fulfillment
of desire
this luster lust
then we stand against the sunset
welcoming
whatever happens
what happens happens
and must happen
and what do we have
we have nothing
to lose

oh, pinch us
we are real now
we are not sands anymore
but stones

Once Desired To Be Filled To The Brim

Spilling over the rim,
With overflowing grim details...
On a daily basis these days,
Is enough for anyone...
To wish for those cups,
Once desired to be filled to the brim...
To hurry and empty up.
And be thrown away in disgust.
With a looking elsewhere,
To measure the degree of their fortunes.

The Insecurities Of Aging...

the more you age
the more you keep things to yourself

old and new socks are mixed up in one wooden cabinet
somehow you are not using any

it is just the keeping for keeping sake
you are not thinking of any heir of any shoe

you begin to emphasize the importance of empty containers
how each must be filled

an empty cup must have coffee to its brim
an empty room must have someone to talk to

and empty road shall have at least one car making a dusty path
the empty stairs are too fearful to look at

how you hate an empty chair
it can make you sick if no one sits in there in another hour

the hours can be empty too
how can you stop the arms of the clock from taking away the sound
of ticking?

you are sensing a terminal
the train must be full so that you can never experience the
palpitations of being alone
you can hear it like the sounds of korean drums
the cascading waterfalls
the horns of taxis in city traffic

do not dare to stop the inevitable
i assure you... you can't. So? get yourself attuned

have an empty cup and learn to drink from it
you must feign the satisfaction of thirst, because

it can't be long.

How can I empty My Mind?

Came out that emptiness,
Bored of what I was,
Looking at the atom shining somewhere in me,
I looked at wonderful world I entered,
Looking at beauties with beautiful faces,
I was only the faceless,
Wished to have a face!
Result is what I am now,
Facing problems of having a face,
Not seen by myself!

Some say look into mirror,
But mirror showed image which is not me,
How can live this is me looking at image?
In the path I met some one,
They said ' you suffered a lot,
Empty your mind, be happy, '
But how can empty my mind,
So many fill it everyday,
Hungry faces,
thirsty minds,
Needy hands fill compassion,
lusty and greedy, selfish and cruel fill
people fill pain,
Wise one fill wisdom,
Fools fill laughter,
Friends fill it with love and smile!

How can I empty my mind,
When beauty around,
Smiling kids, playing puppies,
Jumping and running kittens,
colourful fragrant flowers,
Surrounded by bees and butterflies,
Green trees with wide hands full of fruits,
All call me to enjoy with them!

Tall standing trees and stubborn mountains,
lakes and oceans full of life,
they fill my mind as much I empty, more they fill!

I emptied mind in meditation,
But the beauty of one who filled beauty in all filled my mind,
How can empty love for that beautiful one,
Who is that beauty in all that's beautiful!
Smiling and loving people,

Emptiness Comes

EMPTINESS COMES

Emptiness comes-
There is nothing to say
Nothing to write-

But Nothing is for me only nothing
It is not the goal and the meaning-

Egolessness belongs to saints of a certain kind
I am not a saint-

Emptiness disappears with the writing
Words and meanings come-

I suppose one will be empty forever
When one is alive
What can Emptiness give?

I have written against the Emptiness
And am less empty now for now-

Thank God I no longer feel empty now-

A Glass Of Wine

'What's in a glass of wine?'
There, set the glass where I can look within.
Now listen to me, friend, while I begin
And tell you what I see-
What I behold with my far-reaching eyes,
And what I know to be
Below the laughing bubbles that arise
Within this glass of wine.
There is a little spirit, night and day,
That cries one word, for ever and alway:
That single word is 'More!'
And whoso drinks a glass of wine, drinks him:
You fill the goblet full unto the brim,
And strive to silence him.

Glass after glass you drain to quench his thirst,
Each glass contains a spirit like the first;
And all their voices cry
Until they shriek and clamor, howl and rave,
And shout 'More!' noisily,
Till welcome death prepares the drunkard's grave,
And stills the imps that rave.

That see I in the wine:
And tears so many that I cannot guess;
And all these drops are labelled with 'Distress.'
I know you cannot see.
And at the bottom are the dregs of shame:
Oh! it is plain to me.
And there are woes too terrible to name:
Now drink your glass of wine.

Are we serving others for a living?

If I want to drink,
I can hold,
two hands full.

If I want to eat,
I can fill,
one mouth full.

If I want to breathe,
I can fill,
two lungs full.

If I want to fill,
I can fill,
One stomach full.

We are filling up something,
all our life without thinking,
filling is not a simple process:
fulfilling the needs of others,
may make us the true human being,
as our hands for repetitive doing,
our minds for constant caring,
our hearts for intense loving and
our existence for simple serving.

Empty Hands

He rode in town on a white horse
With nothing in his hands
He came to gather his people
And take them to their promised land
When he came he knew there would be bloodshed
But still no violence made his plans
He came to fight in a battle
With no guns or money

But with his empty hands
With his empty hands
With his empty hands
With his empty hands

They said hey boy what you lookin'at
As they eyed his dreaded mane
He said my father has sent me
I've come back to reclaim
The children whose hearts
Were so whole and pure
Now it's you who'll die in pain
So they lynched the man
Who fooled the word
And all the children gathered
In his empty hands

In his empty hands
The children ..... empty hands
In his empty hands
With his empty hands
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Empty Holes

Fill up the empty holes in my life.
Fill them before it's too late.
Find the missing qualities I have
and let the emptiness abate.

Recognition of these things I need
must be foremost in my mind.
Or the empty holes that need attention
will probably be left behind.

They will follow me like burned out stars
that cannot shine again.
And the emptiness I feel inside
will mark my journey's end.

if you leave
leave at once
for i have nothing
to say,

others ask
what to say when someone
you love says
about leaving?

i say
go, go, find what is lacking
find that which must complete you
and if you are empty still
do not come back to me
for i am empty too

how can emptiness fill another
emptiness?
mine will always be an invitation
i care
but once refused
there is no where
where you can find me
i am also gone
searching what you have been searching
but now it
shall not be you
i'll have someone else
who can fill
my own emptiness
