How Deep Below Are You?
I made footprints
On the ceiling
While the mouse
Jumped over the chandelier,
Just missing the pile of stones
Clustered, not falling.
Only the floor falls,
Ground and all.
My blood dripped
On the stones
On the ceiling.
Then, nothing - - - -
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The floor boards moved,
pushed from below.
It falls
Exposing the skies.
Then voices float:
'Will we have a rest after this? '
'I heard, your daughter will debut soon.'
'Are you coming to Ted's tonight? '
There he is.'
'He's in delirium.'
'Two days, two nights
In upside-down house
Buried in mud.'
'Any more survivors? '

One Mans Ceiling Is Another Mans Floor
Words & music by paul simon
Theres been some hard feelings here
About some words that were said
Been some hard feelings here
And what is more
Theres been a bloody purple nose
And some bloody purple clothes
That were messing up the lobby floor
Its just apartment house rules
So all you partment fools
Remember: one mans ceiling is another mans floor!
One mans ceiling is another mans floor
Theres been some strange goins on
And some folks have come and gone
Like the elevator man dont work no more
I heard a racket in the hall
And I thought I heard a call
But I never opened up my door
Its just apartment house sense
Its like apartment rents
Remember: one mans ceiling is another mans floor!
One mans ceiling is another mans floor!
Theres an alley
In the back of my building
Where some people congregate in shame
I was walking with my dog
And the night was black with smog
When I thought I heard somebody
Call my name
Ah-- remember: one mans ceiling is another mans floor!
One mans ceiling is another mans floor!

A House Without Stairs
do not say
that without the stairs
the house is not a house anymore
without the ceiling
the more the house becomes to me
take the roof
if you want
or the beams
or even the floor and window frames
my house will still be a house
the sky its roof
the stretching grassy plain its floor
all the stars become
my magnificent ceiling
whatever is taken
we must imagine that all things are still there
lest we only have a house
that crashes on the floor
with all of us
dead
crushed to the death of
our imaginations
a door without an exit
because you have not seen hope coming
the lock and key
are all in the mind and heart

Feelings...
actually we are falling
like rain
but the difference is that
we fall
upward
because we are transcendental
creatures
who know the cycles of light
and darkness
who know that life is a ring
there is no end to this falling
and so we
simply stay
there is no floor
we only dream of skies
no ceiling
we only have space beyond
and this pretty makes all interesting
together
we are actually floating in this fall
and so we simply feel
that we are watching things around
us
we invent television and
we sit by the sofa
and watch
there is no falling after all
we are here
dots on earth taken by its spins and
revolutions
we are like stones now
stable on the sand...

Surprise Before Christmas
was a couple of days before Christmas
And all through our house
Wrapping supplies were still scattered
When my wife first saw the mouse
I was dozing watching TV
When I hear her query
'What's that running across the floor? '
Her eyes showing signs of fear and fury
Then I saw it too and hoped it was
Heading out on his way back
It was a mouse for sure
Fury light brown with eyes coal black
I jumped to my feet
To see what to do
Could I be fast enough to catch him
Or just hit him with my shoe
I scared him all right
He again ran across the floor
Hid behind our presents
Instead of going out the door
Help was on the way
My son handed my a broom
My wife standing in her chair
Watching from the other room
Our daughter on her cell phone
Also seemed full of fright
I heard her asking a friend
If she could go there to spend the night
Then the mouse was gone
Fast as a shot
At least that's what I told my wife
I showed her the spot
'See the bottom of the new door
where the the rug used to be
That's where he went out.'
Sounded convincing to me
She made me check all the rooms
Even close up the chimney flue blockikng any crack
I thought better and didn't ask
How Santa was going to get in with his sack
Finally she went to bed
I was soon to follow
I'm sure she knew my promise of
'No mouse for Christmas.' was hollow

Red And Orange
Ther's a red house,
Inside there's an orange door.
Beside that there's a red carpet,
On top of an orange floor.
There's a red table,
Below an orange ceiling.
Upstairs there's a red bed,
Inside an orange room.
There's a couple of red people sleeping soundly,
Next door two orange ones too.
Outside there's a red truck,
No one knows what to do.
I don't see the proble,
Why don't you leave us all alone.
But now I see the red more clearly,
And I know what's done is done.
And I'll float away with the cloudy smoke,
Before the inevertable happens and I start to choke.
Good bye red house,
So long orange door.
I'm going for a long sleep noe,
Six feet under the floor.
House In The Woods
Im going down to the house in the woods
See my little darling
Im going down, out in the fields
With summertime coming
Oh my love, what can I do
What can I do but love you?
For the rest of my days, the rest of my nights
What can I do but love you
Babe
Summertime falls on the house in the woods
Back by the power lines
I aint got a neighbor for nine or ten miles
Back in the tall pines
And hey, now baby, what can I do?
What am I goin to do but trust you?
The rest of my nig hts, the rest of my days
What can I do but love you?
Babe
Hey now baby, what can I do?
What am I going to do but love you
For the rest of my days, the rest of my nights
What could I do but love you?
Babe

Through The Veil for Dave Walker
there's a light
in the window
of the house
forgotten by time;
a book on the table,
unopened.
footprints on the floor
covered with dust.
a cup in the sink
half-empty.
the wind blows
curtains grey with time....
whispering, whispering....
names that cannot
be heard.
voices, echoes,
creaking the floor.
a book of photographs
on the closet floor.
walking through the mist,
the fog and the shadows,
touching small particles
of being left like gifts....
lives unwrapped into mine!

The falling is the constant mate of fear
The falling is the constant mate of fear,
And feel of emptiness is the feel of fright.
Who throws us the stones from the height --
And stones here refuse the dust to bear?
Once, striding in a monk’s unbending mode,
You pierced the yard from rim to other rim;
The cobble-stones and the coarse dream --
Have thirst for death and sadness of the broad-
Let Gothic shelter be in ruins turned
Where ceiling serves as a deceptive fable,
And in the heath the gaily logs don’t burn!
A few here for eternity were born;
But if your mind has only instant label
Your lot is awful and your home unstable!

The Lost Days
running around, southing,
jumping on bed,
crying for petty things,
making paper boats in rain,
getting wet,
jumping in the poodles of water,
running falling, getting dirty
feelings safe in the arms of mother,
lying on the floor,
watching the ceiling
trying to figure out dragons and fairy
from the water patter formed by seepage
looking for rainbow, trying reach it
looking at stars, making a wish
those little games
imitating birds and running after dogs
climbing trees and getting scratched,
watching fishes in pond
throwing stones in water
i really miss those good old days

Blood On The Floor
Written by jeremy spencer.
Well goodbye world
Its sad but true
Got a date with the hangman
I have to leave you
I shot my darlin
Three times of more
The reason Im goin
Is blood on the floor
The nights are so lonely
The days are so long
Im in the jailhouse
Cause they say Ive done wrong
I dont say Im sorry
I just say Im sore
The reason Im goin
Is blood on the floor (blood on the floor)
Well I came home one night
She were lyin,
With her legs around
Another mans bod
She saw me, stared laughin
But she cried, when she saw my gun
Goodbye world
I guess we must part
Theyre taking my life
Cause I shot my sweetheart
I dont say Im sorry
I just say Im sore
The reason Im goin
Is blood on the floor
Oh the reason Im goin
Is blood on the floor
Oh the reason Im goin
Is the blood on the floor

In the spirit of Rumi - 65 - The Housefly
So small,
such a tiny eye,
yet sees, has seen, so much
to be a housefly
in the house of the Lord,
a house without walls, without ceiling,
without floor?
I wonder.

Forgetting Something So Important
why am i here?
must i have forgotten
the reason why
am i
here? am i destined
for something
greater
than my mind?
or my heart?
have i forgotten that
i have a soul?
a spirit engraved
within the
shiny metal of
my body,
a name, a brand,
a status
why am i here?
have i forgotten You
who have placed
me here?
have i forgotten
that love is always the
reason for my
being here
in this misery
shall love continue to be
my guide and cure?
how can i ever forget
the floor of
my existence
the love without
a ceiling?
the house of love
that never falls
the beams that never
break
the Host that knows
everything

Stones
Stones
Stones would play inside her head
And where she slept,
They made her bed
And she would ache
For love and get but stones
La la la la la la la la la
Lordy, child
A good days comin
And Ill be there to let the sun in
And bein lost
Is worth the comin home
La la la la la la la la la on stones
You and me, a time for planting
You and me, a harvest granting
The every prayer ever prayed
For just two wild flowers that grow
La la la la la la la la la on stones
Mmmmmmmm.....

The Essence Of The Waterfall
the essence of the waterfall
its beauty
the reason for its existence
is the falling
day and night it falls
and falls and falls
you cannot stop it
let it be let it be
like the way you are falling
from the skies of your dreams
it is your essence
it is the beauty of your existence
it is the meaning
of your being you
let it be let it be
find the bottom of it all
you shall find rest there.

Praying Arm Lane
Well hey I been down that a way
With a dream on my arm
Yet me an my love we could not stay
We heard voices of children
An by little hands were led astray
All the boughs bend for us
All the earth awaits thee
All the stones they will cry out
An evry tongue confess thee
Oh my dream come an take me quickly
fore the struggle take me
Yeah lay me down any way you choose
An let the voices of our children wake me
The boughs they all will bend for us
An all the earth awaits thee
All the stones they will cry out
Yes an evry tongue confess thee
An though the word yes
It falls on deaf ears
It is spoken jus the same
The word is stands
Look straight at evry man
From kings down to the lay
Well I told it fast an glad
The color of a sloe drink
Or so they say
So they say by the light of day
Hidden neath their wings
Of black, brown an grey
The boughs they all will bend for us
An all the earth awaits thee
All the stones they will cry out
An evry tongue confess thee
An though the word yes
It falls on deaf ears
It is spoken jus the same
The word is stands
Look straight at evry man
From kings down to the lay

Pictures
Whoa oh yeah
I've seen pictures
Well i saw you just the other day
And i could not help but look your way
I say you've just got this special look
That has got me completely hooked
Ow
Pictures on the wall
Pictures everywhere
Pictures on the wall
Everywhere i stare
Pictures on the wall
The ceiling and the floor
I'm in a metal room
And i cannot find the door
Will this feeling ever go away?
Or will this feeling stay?
Will this feeling ever go away?
'cause i can't live the rest of my life this way
Pictures on the wall
[c'mon]
Pictures everywhere
Pictures on the wall
[c'mon c'mon]
Everywhere i stare
Pictures on the wall
[c'mon c'mon]
The ceiling and the floor
I'm in a metal room and i cannot find the door
I see your face in the clouds in the sky
I see your face before my eyes, yeah
I see your face everywhere
And now i don't know what to do
Oh oh
Pictures on the wall
Pictures everywhere
Pictures on the wall
Everywhere i stare
Pictures on the wall
The ceiling and the floor
I'm in a metal room
And i cannot find the door
Whoa pictures...

Act Like You Know
Uh
Big Will and Tra-Knox
Yo yo yo yo jump
When I tell you make your way up to the front
Addicted to the way I kick it I know what you want
The don jiggy catering to what your feeling
Pack it to the floor up to the ceiling
Shake
What ya momma gave you baby don't let nothin' break
Yo watch cause we don't care how much time it's gonna take
Dance floor packed and it's lookin' like a lake
It's obduction here's your instructions
Slide
Get up off that wall girl stop tryin' to hide
Trackin' afrodesiac won't be denied
Chill with that cigarette take it outside
Messin' with my vibe
I don't like that
Bounce
I'm a press your player when it counts
Party like a lamb and a wolf about to pounce
The don jiggy catering to what you're feeling
Pack it to the floor up to the ceiling
Bring it on the nothing
Ain't no time for fun things (come on)
Just let it flow (jump on)
Act like you know
The only floor is jumpin'
Ooh these girls are somethin' (come on)
Just let it flow (jump on)
Act like you know

We Are Afraid To Ever Tell This Story
we are here upon a page of a book
like ears, marking a restful minute since the eyes are aching,
we are in this room of a space filled in the order of words
systematically placed by a careful writer whose reputation is respected by all
his colleagues at the university,
we are wary, aching ears, rough skinned faces,
drooping eyes, lousy hands, hanging feet,
the chairs at the other northeastern part of this room are restless
but cannot speak what they feel
and they cannot be stopped
as they start running towards the balcony jumping into the ground floor
of this very silent nook
the table starts an exhibition of a circus act
tumbles like an acrobat and shouts to the wall and the ceiling that it can fly
like a winged fish that no one has ever seen
the ceiling fan loosens its neck and falls to the ground screaming
the pillow cases escape from their pillows saying it is all over now
the carpet rolls upon itself like a man rolling its sleeves now ready for a fistful of bouts
it is midnight and the light bulbs are blinking like an ambulance
there is an emergency but everyone in the house is asleep
and must not be disturbed
we are afraid we are witness to this unruly behavior of things that should not
move or scream or tumble or run or jump or brag about some imagined wings
we are very silent and the following morning when they all wake up
we keep our mouth shut afraid that they will call us crazy
or if not, paranoid because the whole night we guarded the house
and never for once close our eyes and taste the sweetness of sound sleep
