We Are The 99%
People bravely took to city streets
Determined to effect positive change
Occupying parks n’ other public places
Beginning with Wall St. stock exchange
Carrying placards, expressing discontent
They set up tents preparing for “Long term”
Non-violent “Occupiers” did shout n’ vent
Making mayors n’ officials sweat n’ squirm;
After hearing in one-voice “We’re the 99%”
Police n’ agent provocateurs’ would try
To incite the growing crowds to violence
Remaining calm the people refused comply
One flustered cop maced helpless women,
Trapped behind an orange fence
Occupation is but one finger in a leaky dike
‘Til “The 99%” go out on “General strike”

Growing Up In Public
Some people are into the power of power
The absolute corrupting power, that makes great men insane
While some people find their refreshment in action
The manipulation, encroachment and destruction of their inferiors
Growing up in public, growing up in public
Growing up in public, growing up in public with your pants down
Some people are into sadistic pleasures
They whet their desires and drool in your ears
Theyre quasi-effeminate characters in love with oral gratification
They edify your integrities, so they can play on your fears
Theyre gonna do you in public, cause youre growing up in public
Theyre gonna do it to you in public,
cause youre growing up in public with your pants down
Some people think being a man is unmanly
Some people think that the whole concepts a joke
But some people think being a man is the whole point
And then some people wish theyd never awoke
Up from a dream of nightmarish proportions
Down to a size neither regal nor calm
A prince hamlet caught the middle between reason and instinct
Caught in the middle with your pants down again
Caught in the middle, Im really caught in the middle
Im caught in the middle, caught in the middle deciding about you

What is democracy?
They said that the government of the people,
By the people and for the people, remarkable,
Democracy in many countries of third world,
Derived from aimless policies and controversies untold,
People on the street hope for the better tomorrow,
As the tomorrow, their hope never comes true,
Is Painting the finger once in a few years the democracy?
Is carrying the placards with empty stomach a liberty?
Are the indebted human tied with the voiceless economical stump?
When people having nothing, they have the voice,
When people everything, they have a voice with no noise.
Human are made dump for they not want to lose their properties,
Human are made to be tolerant, when they are kept vertical,
Human are confused with capitalistic democracy,
Human are not comfortable with socialistic democracy,
What is the meaning for democracy,
when the mind and the body are controlled?

In terms of the idea of long-term occupation - I have been reading a little bit more about this period - and you can see in that occupation are many lessons for the current occupation of Iraq. So we have these connections that go way back that people aren't aware of.

Public Safety
You have no 'constitutional' rights,
To police protection.
The police are there to uphold the 'law'.
Public safety...
That's all!
And 'if' it has been determined,
That 'law' has been broken...
Guess who is going to jail?
That is certain.
Those 'laws' will prevail!
People yelling, 'Protect me and mine! '
Will find themselves ignored,
Most of the time!
Police are trained to deal with you psychologically...
However,
Your individual needs...
Are not theirs to feed!
Your rights to protect yourself is best.
And that's why the streets are full of such unrest!
IF you have problems with this as it is...
Know what those laws are!
And why crime has risen...
Bringing folks to tears.
And your individual feelings,
Are not part of constitutional business!
You have no 'constitutional' rights,
To police protection.
The police are there to uphold the 'law'.
Public safety...
That's all!
And your taxes 'may' be used,
To fill a pothole!

Was I Just Dreaming?
I watched as the Lord carried his cross
through the streets of my estate,
I wanted to go and help him
but I just looked on instead.
Gangs of feral youths stood around
smoking dope and drinking lager
I was amazed they didn't notice
who was walking past them.
Then it dawned on me
he was invisible to their eyes.
I then watched Christ as he walked
through the crowded city streets,
people going about there business
too busy to notice the Lord in there midst.
I noticed him as he slowed down
was the cross getting too heavy to bear?
he stopped near to a public house,
customers stood outside drinking
but they too seemed oblivious
who was standing so close to them.
I followed behind him as he carried on
walking with his heavy cross
on through town after town,
city after city, country after country.
During his long painful journey
he witnessed wars upon wars,
violence upon violence,
hate, misery, sadness, loneliness.
but nobody knew that he was there.
Then I woke up drenched in sweat
realising it was all just a dream,
it was just a dream, wasn't it?

City Of Music
Music is like a city
The genres are the suburbs
The bands, the streets
The albums, the buildings
And the songs, the apartments
The streets get inspiration from other streets
They duplicate then alter them slightly.
The city is very busy and there are always
People driving through looking and listening
The city is growing every day.
The suburbs larger and larger
And some join together.
The streets longer and longer
And some old and tattered.
The building will always stay the same
But they will always be new.
The city will always keep growing
As the music goes on.

A Short Term Effect
Movement
No movement
Just a falling bird
Cold as it hits the bleeding ground
He lived and died
Catch sight
Cover me with earth
Draped in black
Static
White sound
A day without substance
A changeof thought
An atmosphere that rots with time
Colours that flicker in water
A short term effect
Scream
As she tries to push him over
Helpless and sick
With teeth of madness
Jump jump dance and sing
Sideways across the desert
A charcoal face
Bites my hand
Time is sweet
Derange and disengage everything
A day without substance
A change of thought
The atmosphere rots with time
Colours that flicker in water
A short term effect
A short term effect
A short term effect
An echo
And a stranger's hand
A short term effect
An echo
And a stranger's hand
A short term effect

New Zealand
An earthquake struck New Zealand's city of Christchurch on Tuesday
Burying vehicles under debris and collapsing buildings into the streets.
Police announced a curfew and city was shut down on Wednesday,
Rescuers scrambled to reach beneath the rubble the residents.
The quake devastating the spire of the Cathedraland is a real tale.
The buildings had collapsed and the people were trapped inside.
All around the city, this powerful earthquake strangely bent some rails, Moreover, it toppled the tall buildings and seventy five people died.
The earthquake combination of distance and depth was so deadly,
Streets were strewn with concrete and people were stuck in towers.
Firefighters climbed ladders to pluck people from roofs to safety.
Buildings have gone because aftershocks hit the city within two hours.
Pre-World War buildings were damaged by the quake on September,
People wandered through streets strewn with debris and concrete.
The further damage was caused by a strong aftershock in December.
Now there is a real carnage with bodies littering the streets..
The women went into premature labor and the city was in agony.
The airport was shut down, in ruins the people began to groan,
Every child has been walking home trying to find the lost family.
The city were suffering cuts to the water supply and the phone.
A thirty million tone block of ice sheared off a glacier of New Zealand
After the earthquake had devastated the city groping it into Dark.
The iceberg crashed into a lake had rocked the South Island
Ripping off the Tasman Glacier at Aoraki Mount Cook National Park.

So what are you doing with your life now?
She says
She stares blankly on the wall
She is busy
Counting the lamp posts on the streets
She is so busy
She thinks God is preparing something
Grand for her and she is so busy
Too preparing something for God
Who prepares for her.
I am amazed
I ask her
“So, did you stare long enough on that blank wall
Was it really blank? Did you really stare?
What made the wall so blank? Is the stare really
Worth making on a blank wall?
And how many lamp posts have you counted?
Is the street filled with lamp posts?
How is God? When will the preparation last?
How are you doing with God? Is God busy too? ”
She is a little bit understanding to my way of thinking.
“There you are making a poem again. You have never changed.”
She said.

I've talked to law enforcement officials at the state and local level who say that violence against women is going up. In any case, we think that it's an important issue whether it's going up or not. And we are determined to stop it.

Street Dwellers
With their faces all lined and weather beaten,
It could be days since these folk have last eaten.
These city dwellers; these rough sleeping rovers,
Have resorted to searching rubbish bins for leftovers.
Through the city streets, they aimlessly roam;
Sometimes asking people for the bus fare home.
Refused money, some will swear in your face;
The streets can seem such a threatening place.
Some of them don’t exactly turn on the charm,
When they ask for money, and grab your arm.
Some smile, courteously, bidding you a good day,
Despite things not having quite gone their way.
Some attempt to stop people passing them by,
But most people still do, however hard they try.
Asking for spare change, they repeat their plea;
Some, passers-by, purposely, choose not to see.
They may sleep in a shop doorway, or under a bridge,
Where the temperature is often as cold as a fridge.
The days and nights seem to go on for almost ever,
Especially during the cold and wet, wintry weather.
These people are all different; they are not all the same.
Some are uneducated; some have letters after their name.
Some of them are outgoing, while others are very shy;
Some of them are trustworthy, while others are very sly.
We know very little about these people’s past lives;
They may have left behind children, husbands or wives.
This group of individuals are so unique and so diverse,
But, for them, their living conditions could not be worse.
All they need is someone to give them a second chance;
Someone who gives them more than just a second glance.
Nobody lives their life on the streets, purely by choice.
It is time that they were listened to, and given a voice.

Somethings will never change
While the earth circulates in circles
Time cannot be frozen in a sudden miracle
And whilst the sun still rises and sets
Only a female has the ability to give birth
Solely the sensible
Know that death is inevitable
You know! I know! We know!
Some things will never change
Like growing older with age
A fire always burns with some rage
Some people are born to hate
Some people are late by trait
And the things we all care about
I number in three
'Money, love and life, ' I shout
These things are not for free
They come with a price
Sometimes a bitter sacrifice
We will always wander the earth
Stumbling upon birth and death
And what is even strange
Is with air we must exchange to stay alive
And we must continuously eat to survive
You know! I know! We know!
Events may be arranged or rearranged
And change is always bound to change
But some things will never change!
Like every beginning has an end
And let us not ignorantly pretend
Everyone has at least an enemy or friend

Where is the future?
If we legalize abortion,
if we legalize prostitution,
Not that I'm perfect but I have to know the truth
Where is the future
if we have corrupt police officials
what about government officials?
What went wrong on the taxi industry?
are all drivers violent?
That's the only answer I know 'NO'
Why are our streets full of kids and adults?
Where are they from?
These are the questions without answers.
I couldn't hold my tears when I saw a poor child in the street.
Where is the future of Africa?
we still have racism.
I stand where I stood with my very first question
where is the future?

Women Men
When the ship runs out of ocean
And the vessel runs aground
Lands where we know the boat is found
Now theres nothing unexpected
About the water giving out
Lands not a word we have to shout.
But theres something beside the shoreline
Moving across the beachhead
Coming up from the shipwreck
Making as if to say:
Women & men
Women & men
Women & men
Women & men
(women & men) bringing with them messages of love
And every where they go love will grow (love will grow)
(women & men) when you see the faces of the women
And the men, you too will know (you will know)
Women & men have crossed the ocean
They now begin to pour
Out from the boat and up the shore
Two by two they enter the jungle
And soon they number more
Three by three as well as four by four
Soon the stream of people gets wider
Then it becomes a river
River becomes an ocean
Carrying ships that bear
Women & men
Women & men
Women & men
Women & men

We have to stop this violence. We have to make the political nature of the violence clear, that the violence we experience in our own homes is not a personal family matter, it's a public and political problem. It's a way that women are kept in line, kept in our places.

Wall Of Love
Ooh great wall of love, build me a great wall of love
When the blind man sings about the peaceful things
You shout that its not good enough
Ah we wait till daylight hours
Waiting for a sign from you
Golden temples concrete towers
Building mansions on the hillside next to you
In the city souls awaken bodies shaking
Oh pull me up let me see the view
And to the hungry in the gutter
Weve deprived them bread and butter
Always not enough
No not enough
Great wall of love, build me a great wall of love
When the blind man sings about the peaceful things
You shout that its still not enough.
Ah well its not the sound of ghosts I hear
Its the devil with his chainsaw
And Ill be running through the ghettos
Through the townships of soweto
Always not enough
No not enough
Brothers missing, babies kissing
And the thing that got to you
Burning never turning next to you
Ooh great wall of love
Build me a great wall of love
When the blind man sings about the peaceful things
You shout that its still not enough
So listen to me darling
Theyve got worries theyve got troubles on their mind
And when you hear them reaching out
Theyre reaching out for something they cant find
Oh I believe one great day the rain will come
And wash this mess away
Oh I believe one great day the rain will come
Theyve got silver and diamonds
Theyve got paradise around them
Theyve got blue skies so clear
Theyve got their prisoner in a wagon
While the children chase the dragon
And the free bird files so clear
It files away
Fly fly fly away
Fly away
Oh you fly away
And may your sweet lips sing to me
Let the bells ring wherever freedom be
One babe is born and another one dies
Theres people making love tonight
People making love tonight
Ah people making love tonight
People making love
People making love tonight
People making love
I can hear them reaching out
I can hear them reaching out
I can hear them reaching out
I can hear them reaching out

The Killer Tsunami of 2004
O see there, a calm, hand-tied public servant
lets his eyes to flooding tears flowing down
being caught into the web of collusion
between the advocate and the police.
A Tsunami of a mind-boggling complaint
of his daughter-in-law of five months wedded life
and forty days- stay in his house with his son,
alleging demand of dowry, harrassment and cheating,
embellished by the usual rubbish and lies
by a shameless, criminal advocate
and empowered by the money making women cops,
made the sub - inspector surging towards his house
on the dreadful morn of Sunday, the 26th Dec.2004,
lashing out on the gate and waking them up,
pulling him back along with his wife and son
to the fecund station of breeding dowry charges
and kept them under station- arrest.
As the inspector was away to serve
where the tidal waves of great temblor
had risen as a wall in a flash,
chased and swept off the people on the coast,
smashed down huts and concrete houses,
contaminated the sources of water
and trapped the unwary into watery graves,
the Sub-Inspector played her planned role with ease,
with occasional threats and mock panchayats,
praying to God often with pious words,
and at times sprinkling filthy dialects,
coerced the groom to give 3.5 lakhs
to compensate the matrimonial expenses
and the damage caused to his wife’s chastity,
and get divorce under mutual consent
or else be jailed and settled at the court later.
What a counseling! What an operation!
O you girls of unbridled desires! Hatch a plot
to marry an innocent groom from a quiet family;
cajole him to use contraceptives from the night one,
cause ripples of discontent one by one,
route a complaint through the family court
to the All Women Police Station.
You’re sure to win the jackpot!
And rejoin with your boyfriends
waiting with woolfish grins.
But the grooms and their parents roll into a sea
of sleeplessness for the fault of choosing you as brides.
Long live the anti-dowry acts
and the counseling women cops.
