Tiger Within
There lives a tiger within
Often growls and bites
However, with discipline
Beast restrains its appetite

The Most Dangerous Beast!
The beast has the fangs of a Werewolf
The claws of a tiger.
It never rests, day or night
Once it scents it prey
There is no escape;
It is impossible to be distracted or deceived.
It has insatiable appetite,
Which cannot be satisfied
With a lunch or dinner.
Always on the hunt,
Prowling like a tiger,
Squeezes like the anaconda,
But thinks like a man.
It can survive in any terrain or climate,
The harsher, the more successful it is.
Its natural habitants are the slums
Of Calcutta, Bombay,
Slums of many third world countries.
Many countries developed nations
Think they have eradicated this beast
But it prowls again
Once condition for its natural habitant
Occurs, even temporarily.
The terrifying beast is
Hunger!

Tiger, Tiger
Tiger one to tiger two
Tiger one says I love you
Tiger two does not reply
So tiger one, he starts to cry
Tiger two says why you cry?
Tiger one says 'you did not reply'
Tiger two says I need not to
Tiger one says why?
Tiger two says i love you
Tiger one says i love you too
Tiger one says why oh why?
Why didnt you reply?
Tiger two says I love you
I don't have to say it
You know its true
Now you know the reason why
Tiger two did not reply
Tiger one realises why
Tiger two did not reply
So tiger one he starts to smile
And says tiger two is very fine
For tiger two is my dearest babe
Whome I think of everyday
And tiger two I cannot wait
To see your pretty face again
Play Fighting
Two tiger cubs fought tooth and nail
Regardless of the cost,
Each chewing on the other's tail
Such that both tigers lost!
With claws extended to the max,
Ferocious growls to boot,
Then climbing on each other's back
While striving to look cute!
Their little ears were throbbing pain
From scratches and from bites,
The cubs retreated, rushed again,
Determined in their fights...
The other cubs looked on with glee,
Far off and out of range,
As if they'd lost the novelty,
While these two wouldn't change!
Two tiger cubs now nose to nose,
Up close and personal,
Content that they fought blows for blows,
Until one had to fall...
Yet these two cubs would find respect
Within each other's eyes,
Though others thought them incorrect!
Surprise, surprise, surprise!

Tiger
Tiger with coat of dissimilar stripes,
When he’s angry, tiger swipes,
Tiger cautious, guarding his lair,
Danger lurking, tiger aware.
Tiger hungry so he hunts,
Facing quarry, tiger confronts.
Tiger waiting, being sly,
Undercover, no tiger espy.
Tiger detects, now he purrs,
Hunger pangs, tiger stirs.
Tiger quick, must now surprise,
Here we have one tiger, wise.
Tiger from his throat he roars,
Stretching out those tiger claws.
Tiger moving, stealthy pelt,
Expiration, by tiger dealt.
Tiger now with belly filled,
Anger passed, one tiger stilled.
Tiger sleeping, with the Pride,
Craving gone, tiger satisfied.
Tiger such a majestic sight,
Near extinction, tiger fight.
Tiger beautiful and fine,
You’re such a leonine feline.
Tiger we must have respect, ,
For your great tiger intellect.

The Dragon and the Phoenix (version two) :
The Dragon and the Phoenix (version two) :
The Tiger lies in a mist, shrouded in mystery.
Who is she, what is her purpose?
The Dragon lies upon a cloud, covered by time.
Who is he, what is his purpose?
The cloud and Dragon descend into the mist as the moon rises, meshing together.
The Tiger prowls through cloud and mist; the Dragon growls, wary of this new creature in his midst.
Startled by the new noise in her domain the Tiger hisses and tenses.Silver eyes meet those of green, stillness ensues.
'Why does it not attack, this beast of the forest? ' he thinks.
'Will this being from the skies run or strike? ' she thinks.
The Dragon becomes stone still, waiting, for what he knows not.
'Does this armored creature of flight even live? ' she wonders.
The Tiger slowly lays a paw against the Dragon's scaly hide, sparks of blue fly from the point of contact, the Tiger jumps back with a howl of surprise. 'What is this magic? ! ' she cries.
The Dragon's face becomes filled with the expression of joy 'Yin! ' cries he. The Tiger freezes in shock 'Yang? At last, we can be one once again! '
The Dragon drew a great breath and breathed the fires of his love unto the Tiger, from her ashes arose a mighty Phoenix.. A great cry of joy sounded through the night, a cry of joy: 'Forever one are we! Together in the skies for all eternity shall we be! '

Lions And Tigers (Oh My)
When the tiger sleeps, the coward growls,
While the lion naps, the hyaena howls.
When the tiger saunters down to the pool,
The coward hides, he's not a fool.
When the lion strolls through the African veldt,
The hyaena shivers, in his spotted pelt.
The tigers eye's turn hot blood to ice,
The lion terrifies, with his piercing cries.
Such is the case in many climes,
The haughty ones pick opportune times.
They walk by showing their disdain,
Always making sure, that the tiger is chained.

My Tiger
When my thoughts are turned within,
There lives a Tiger I obey.
I find my other self… my twin.
Protecting me from mortal sin,
She blossoms like a fresh bouquet.
When my thoughts are turned within.
She waits in silence with a grin
And enemies are easy prey.
I find my other self… my twin.
A part of me that waits therein;
My Tiger keeps my foes at bay.
When my thoughts are turned within.
My Tiger waits beneath my skin
And she has never run astray.
I find my other self… my twin.
My other self, my discipline;
Harm me and she’ll make you pay.
When my thoughts are turned within,
I find my other self… my twin.

My Desperation Fades
My desperation fades,
When my craving for you ends.
My appetite satisfied in small bites...
When I licked my wishes in nibbles.
I could not in patience wait to feast.
I could not...
When I hungered for you to eat.
I could not...
Fast
Or last that long!
I need to taste.
And that temptation was prolonged.
I thought I was strong.
But not having you near.
It became clear what I did was wrong!
I went on and on and on until...
No knocking from you came!
So I did.
My desperation fades,
When my craving for you ends.
My appetite satisfied in small bites...
When I licked my wishes in nibbles.
Exciting myself...
Like I do each night,
Whenever you call to say...
'Perhaps another time?
Perhaps another day? '
I then lay...
Wet!

The Royal tiger of India
Stressful chattering of birds,
monkeys jumping from one branch to another.,
fluttering wings of birds,
running around of animals,
a sudden unrest in the jungle,
the news spread like forest fire,
there comes the majestic
yellow and black striped beast,
walked slowly on the dried leaves,
the best catwalk if one could luckily see,
the bold and the beautiful,
its the tiger on the scene,
the Royal tiger of India indeed,
unruffeld by noise around.,
unquestionable the king of jungle,
the wildest cat on earth,
unsocial solitary beast,
make every soul to fear for life,
be it a bird, animal, man or a beast.

Life Is A Tiger
Life is a tiger a terrible beast....
a terrible beast who will
eat you up
He does not know CHANEL
perfume number five
from.....cow dung number 23,
nor a Paris gown
from a breech cloth
At least he loves us all the same,
mangles with no malice,
no elite are dressed
for his jaws, blood and flesh
have the same sweet taste.....
he gnaws as savagely
on my arm as yours,
eats both hearts
with the same gusto.
Turn up the music and make the
red lips redder.... we shall walk
down Broadway with
the tiger at our heels.

Tiger By The Tail
What a shock it was so surprising
You looked so small and frail
I didnt know what to do
I grabbed the tiger by the tail
I grabbed the tiger by the tail
I grabbed the tiger by the tail
People said that you must be joking
You let emotions run away with you
I realized a little too late
I bit off more than I could chew
I grabbed the tiger by the tail
I grabbed the tiger by the tail
Sometimes you grip it right
And sometimes you fail
I grabbed the tiger by the tail
I grabbed the tiger by the tail
I grabbed the tiger by the tail
At times life can be so enlightening
But it can turn on you
Lately it gets so complicated i
I dont know what the tiger will do
I grabbed the tiger by the tail
I grabbed the tiger by the tail
Sometimes you grip it right
And sometimes you fail
I grabbed the tiger by the tail
I grabbed the tiger by the tail
I grabbed the tiger by the tail
Sometimes you grip it right
And sometimes you fail
I grabbed the tiger by the tail

Nature Of The Beast
It is the key to all the doors,
It is the crashing on the shores.
It lives in your steering wheel.
It hides in the wind and rain,
With voices as cold as steel
Its calling your name
It is the smile upon his face
It is the winning of the race.
It lives in the red-alert.
It lives in the power game
Its easy to take to heart
But harder to tame
This is the nature of the beast
(this is the nature)
This is the nature of the beast
(this is the nature)
Without all this heat
Theyll be dancing west to east
This is the nature of the beast
It is the glowing in his eyes
It is the reason for his lies
How many know youre there
How many play your game
Hes always the man to dare
Youre always to blame
It is the need to understand
It is the trigger in his hand
It lives in the uniform
It grows from the need to gain
With faces so old and torn
Its calling your name
This is the nature of the beast
(this is the nature)
This is the nature of the beast
(this is the nature)
Without all this heat
Theyll be dancing west to east
This is the nature of the beast.

Handsome Beast
The tiger stood his ground one day,
Like posers often do,
To let the others have their say,
Express their point of view...
To stare at him, with jealousy,
Each time his fame increased,
While tigresses looked longingly,
'He's such a handsome beast! '
The tiger stayed still, like a king,
As if the world were his,
While all the rest were wondering
What magic spell is this?
As if they watched him mesmerised,
Fixated and so pleased,
While tigresses all realised,
'He's such a handsome beast! '
Of course, the magic couldn't last,
That's life, we all move on...
Endangered species leave so fast,
They're here... and then they're gone...
For now, he's truly in his prime!
The foremost not the least...
While tigresses think he's sublime,
'He's such a handsome beast! '

Taming The Tiger
I stepped outside to breathe the air
And stare up at the stars
Big dipper hanging there
Over the rented car
Over the rented car
Im a runaway from the record biz
From the hoods in the hood and the whiny white kids
Boring!
The old man is snoring
And Im taming the tiger
(you cant tame the tiger)
Tiger, tiger burning bright
Nice, kitty kitty
Tiger, tiger burning bright
Sophia says its hard to catch
And harder still to ride
The time to watch the beast the best
Is when its purring at your side
Purring at your side
Accolades and honors
One false move and youre a goner
Boring!
The old man is snoring
And Im taming the tiger
(you cant tame the tiger)
Tiger, tiger burning bright
Nice, kitty kitty
Tiger, tiger burning bright
In the forest of the night
The moon shed light
On my hopeless plight
As the radio blared so bland
Every disc, a poker chip
Every song just a one night stand
Formula music, girly guile
Genuine junkfood for juveniles
Up and down the dial
Mercenary style
I watched the stars chuck down their spears
And a plane went blinking by
And I thought of anna
Wild and dear
Like fireworks in the sky
Fireworks in the sky
Im so sick of this game
Its hip, its hot
Lifes too short, the whole things gotten
Boring!
The old man is snoring
And Im taming the tiger
(you cant tame the tiger)
Tiger, tiger burning bright
Nice, kitty kitty
(boring!)
Tiger, tiger burning bright
(you cant tame the tiger)
Oh, be nice, kitty kitty
(boring!)
Tiger, tiger burning bright
Nice, kitty kitty
(boring, boring!)
Tiger, tiger burning bright
(fight to the light, fight to the light)
In the forest of the night

The Tiger- past predator: present prey!
Tiger, Tiger, poached for hide!
By Man’s bullets many died;
Bones and claws of thine are dried;
Poachers have thee crucified.
Past predator, now a prey!
Recklessly killed every day;
Thy extinction is so nigh;
Mortality of thine’s high.
Lord of Jungle, O Tiger!
Hast thou become much tamer?
Thy reserves have dwindled fast;
Wilt thou soon be thing of past?
Oh, what sinews, what muscles!
Victor of fiercest tussles;
Thou with agility stalk;
Despite weight, thou canst cat-walk!
No beast dare challenge thy might;
Thine eyes glimmer green at night;
Thou live in forests so dense;
Mighty beast- ’tis no pretence.
Frightens thy roar every beast;
Stalk thou grassland’s beasts for feast;
What strength fills thy graceful frame!
Jungle Lord, wherefrom thou came?

Avoid The Light
growls
Modern day plague
Stronger than any and every
Virus, disease, or sickness
/growls
For a glimpse of ideology.
Anti-christian and eternally alive
growls undead /sings
Buried underneath two thousand years
growls Of histories /growls
Yet able to rise,
Instinctively arise
half growl
Avoid the light, the suns in sight
The undead should be sleeping
Avoid the light, and cross upright
My fledgling's dropping, weeping
Avoid the light, avert your sight
Go underground discretely
(x4) Avoid the light
/half growl
growls
True and purely horror
Man's ultimate enemy and predator
wrapped into one
/growls
Spread black wings of damnation
Then folding into shape a mortal men
growls not slaved /growls
Plasmicumber will over-ride
growls the true emotion /growls
That peering virgin to guard my callused grave
half growl
Avoid the light, the suns in sight
The undead should be sleeping
Avoid the light, and cross upright
My fledgling's dropping, weeping
Avoid the light, avert your sight
Go underground discretely
Alone, unseen, reborn, received
/half growl
It's a battle of wills
Ingloriously killed
growls we shall devour /growls
half growl
Avoid the light, the suns in sight
The undead should be sleeping
Avoid the light, and cross upright
My fledgling's dropping, weeping
Avoid the light, avert your sight
Go underground discretely
(x4) Avoid the light
/half growl

Tiger Stare
Intimidation is the game, as any tiger knows.
Infuriation is the aim, before it comes to blows.
The tiger stare, with ears erect, the lowered jaw in tune,
The teeth to bear, for bold effect! All say, 'I'll fight you soon! '
If not, the tiger stare is used to focus on the prey...
Before all energy's enfused and it gets clean away...
Or else a future mate is seen, with him truly smitten...
Wide-eyed, the alpha male is keen to meet the little kitten...
If not, some new scent's in the air... his basic instincts rise.
He breathes in deep... his nostrils flare... as danger he defies.
He bides his time before he acts, while time is on his side,
But come the time he finds the facts, no conscience comes to guide.
Sometimes a tiger stands alone! It's him against the rest!
Gone are the brothers he has known, now he must do his best!
No more the tiger cub of old, no more the little one...
He's seen the seasons which unfold beneath the golden sun!
The tiger stare is what he does... portraying who he is...
Who knows what it will mean for us? A quick death or a kiss?
And yet we stare, breathtaken, too, till fear has been increased...
At just how big this big cat grew.... at beauty and the beast...
The poem is based on the magnificent painting
by Stephen Gayford called 'Tiger Stare'.
