mind Over Money”

Want days to be warm and sunny?
Weather storm this eventful year?
Practice discipline of mind over money
Will chase away unease and fear

Gotta Weather The Storm

Friend fell into alcoholic maze
the kind who never ceases to amaze
leaving me with only words to say
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

Here's clue, he's got woman trouble
guess easy to say he's seen double
so I'm gonna lay it down again
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

Working hard all this year long
he can't tell right from wrong
so I'll ring it from day one
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

Swore aloud how he's thinking suicide
thinking aloud bout rising river tide
so I'll sing it from day two anew
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

Booze has turned his head around
think he's suicidal devil road bound
so I'll play it from day three
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

So I'm laying truth down the line
listen to these blues yours and mine
listen catch hold my repeated lines
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

Think it's worth sown in your mind
making black white stop you been blind
so I'll ring sing the twelve bar blues
sometimes man you gotta weather the storm.

Repeat sometimes man you, gotta weather the storm.

Ive Got My Love To Keep Me Warm

Irving berlin
The snow is snowing
The wind is blowing
But I can weather the storm
Why do I care how much it may storm
Ive got my love to keep me warm
I cant remember
A worse december
Just watch those icicles from
Why do I care if icicles form
Ive got my love to keep me warm
Off with my overcoat
Off with gloves
I need no overcoat
Im burning with love
My hearts on fire
The flame grows higher
So I will weather the storm
Why do I care how much it may storm
Ive got my love to keep me warm

Grey Skies In July

We are now well in to the month of July,
But above my head, there's a leaden sky.
For days on end, it has constantly rained,
And I must say that it's a right old pain.

Every time that I step out of my door,
The Heavens open and it begins to pour.
This awful weather is getting me down:
My once sunny smile has turned to a frown.

When it rains, it rains nearly all the day long;
For the middle of summer, it feels so wrong.
In July, we should be getting long days of sun,
But, so far, this month, we've had hardly none.

I hate these days which are dreary and dull;
With this wet weather, there is hardly a lull.
It was on the radio, that I heard one morning,
Half of Britain had severe weather warnings.

Around the sodden streets, everyone rushes.
Packed to full capacity, are our local buses.
I dare not leave home without my coat.
Very soon, I'll be needing to buy a boat!

Like many others, I don't mind confessing,
That I find this weather pretty depressing.
I want this weather to be over and done:
Rain every single day, is certainly no fun.

They say that sunny weather is on its way,
And I'm really looking forward to that day.
Let us all hope that, for the rest of July,
We'll see some sun and bright blue skies.

A shy eye casts a romantic look

A shy eye casts a romantic look
~
He looks with unease
At a girl something beyond beautiful
At least in his mind she is all of that
He stays his tongue from speaking
Not through caution but through fear
A fear of her rejection forefront
Besides not knowing which words to speak
Or how best to express them
He sits almost silent thinking
How her lips would feel against his own
The touch of her skin
The smell of her hair
His eyes cast a glancing look
Shyly looking away, fear of being caught
A subtle smile offers little
He looks with unease
At a girl he finds incredible

An Indian Summer

After weeks of waiting, our summer is finally here.
For our late Indian summer, we all give a big cheer.
It’s early October and it’s a humid twenty five degrees;
Following days of dullness, it’s hot, with very little breeze.

Alive with people, are those sandy beaches, normally deserted;
There are children, women in bikinis, and with men, unshirted.
Unusually, for this time of year, much flesh is on display,
And the ice cream seller is still doing a really roaring trade.

By weathermen, this sunny spell was recently forecast,
But their expert word was doubted, due to times past.
This time, however, it seems they’ve got it right,
And it is, indeed, extremely hot, sunny and bright.

Office workers sat on benches, eating lunch, are now seen;
Normally, at this time of year, they’d be sat in the canteen.
People converge on the nation’s many public parks,
And stay until 7pm, when the days begin to get dark.

With everything around us, bathed in sunlight,
Our once saddened souls, suddenly take flight.
We didn’t believe we’d see any more days like this,
And, rainy, dull days, we certainly don’t, at all, miss.

But, late at night, when we are lying in our beds,
We toss and turn and struggle to catch some zeds.
Woken way too early by the brightly sunlit mornings,
We rub our eyes and can’t keep ourselves from yawning.

People sit in their gardens, catching the sun’s rays,
On what could be one of this year’s last sunny days.
But, about the hot weather, we shouldn’t really complain,
As, this year, we may not see another sunny day again.

Chase the money, let the money don’t chase you

Wrongly said by some one, don’t chase the money
Dumbly accepted by many, let the money chase us
Open your eyes and make your way, out of the traditional way
Kick out the advices, dig out your dreams
Chase the money, let the money don’t chase you

In This Weather, In This Windy Storm

In this weather, in this windy storm,
I would never have sent the children out;
They were carried outside -
I could say nothing about it!

In this weather, in this roaring storm,
I would never have let the children out.
I was afraid they had falllen ill,
but these thoughts are now idle.

In this weather, in this cruel storm,
I would never have let the children out;
I was worried they would die the next day -
but this is now no concern.

In this weather, in this cruel storm,
I would never have sent the children out;
They were carried outside -
I could say nothing about it!

In this weather, in this roaring, cruel storm,
they rest as they did in their mother's house:
they are frightened by no storm,
and are covered by the hand of God.

Change Of Weather

September came along
and brought with it
a change of weather.
The humid days
were suddenly cold and windy.
A few, very nice, cool, fall days,
managed to slip in,
even though it wasn’t quite fall yet.
So, as I do every September,
I emptied out my closet of
t-shirts, and short sleeved shirts.
With all that room in there
I decided to fill it with my winter shirts,
even though I didn’t need them, just yet.
And don’t you know,
I got caught again?
No sooner did I get the summer shirts away
and the winter ones out -
what happens?
There’s a change of weather.
The warmer days kicked in again.
I sure can use those t-shirts now.
But, I’ve got them packed away,
and away they’ll stay.
This is the time of year
when the weather doesn’t know
if it wants to be warm, cool or cold.
Well, I can always roll up the sleeves
on the long sleeved shirts, should I need to.
With changes of weather
as it is these days,
I’d rather play it safe.

Money, Money

I work all night, I work all day, to pay the bills I have to pay
Ain't it sad
And still there never seems to be a single penny left for me
That's too bad
In my dreams I have a plan
If I got me a wealthy man
I wouldn't have to work at all, I'd fool around and have a ball...
Money, money, money
Must be funny
In the rich man's world
Money, money, money
Always sunny
In the rich man's world
Aha-ahaaa
All the things I could do
If I had a little money
It's a rich man's world
A man like that is hard to find but I can't get him off my mind
Ain't it sad
And if he happens to be free I bet he wouldn't fancy me
That's too bad
So I must leave, I'll have to go
To Las Vegas or Monaco
And win a fortune in a game, my life will never be the same...
Money, money, money
Must be funny
In the rich man's world
Money, money, money
Always sunny
In the rich man's world
Aha-ahaaa
All the things I could do
If I had a little money
It's a rich man's world
Money, money, money
Must be funny
In the rich man's world
Money, money, money
Always sunny
In the rich man's world

All the things I could do
If I had a little money
It's a rich man's world
It's a rich man's world

Can't Change the Weather

Crisp and white and cold
It was a beautiful snowy day
Life seemed devoid of turmoil
As I watched the ducks at play

Trees covered in their lacy winter white
The sky was gray with threatening snow
And yet a bit of white peaked through
It was the best kind’a day I know

And as I drove across a bridge
Slush was forming and the snow rearranged
It seemed as though there was a pause
I knew something was about to change

I love the changing of the weather
A cold and blowing storm
And then as quick as fingers snap
It would be sunny and sweet and warm

I guess whatever the season
Or whatever the weather right now
We might as well just settle in
Can’t change the weather anyhow!

Summers Coming Around Again

(carly simon/jim ryan/paul glanz)
Here now summers coming around again
Every year it seems to come in this way
Before you know it youve fallen in love
But be sure its love before you sail away
You see someone wearing a sunny face
You want to know him anyway that you can
Tell him youre just in from shanghai
And his smile you just cant pass by
Follow him away
Follow him away
Sad to say he hasnt seen you come by this way
His sunny smile just reflects sunny days
Havent you seen his face before
Every year it seems to come this way
Every year it seems to come this way

It Is So Warm For Early In December

It is so warm for early in December the birds are panting and scarce a puff of breeze
And the tar is boiling on the sunlit roadway in temperatures of over thirty degrees
How come it's so warm this early on in Summer? we hear the scientists talk of the ozone hole
If this be true we have influenced the weather and the temperatures not beyond our control.

Some scientists claim it's due to man's pollution that we experience the weather extremes
The water now is down to a slow trickle in the polluted rivers, creeks and streams
Three weeks ago the low lying paddocks flooded the changes a few warm weeks can bring
And the farmers they are praying for rain already although we've had big rainfalls through the Spring

Each year the Summer temperatures keep rising and the warm weather goes into late Fall
And despite the first week of heavy rains the weather bureau
claim it's been the warmest November of them all
'Twould seem the coastal towns will do well for Christmas and traffic jams on the highway to the sea
And New Year's day will find them by the ocean the working man and his wife and family.

It is so warm for early in December and Summer days have only just begun
And people already wearing their sun hats and sun screens to keep away the cruel rays of the sun
And some scientists claim that the extremes of weather is or was never beyond our control
And that modern man who creates much pollution is responsible for the big ozone hole.

The Day For November Quite Warm

The day for November quite warm with only the faintest sign of breeze
And starlings from the trees to the garden railings flying and flying back again to the trees
The weather temperature in the high twenties from 27 to 29 degrees
And in the shade of the gum in the paddock the cow sits and chews her cud at ease.

White butterflies out in the sunshine they do not like the wind and the rain
Why they like the calm sunny weather do not ask me since I cannot explain
Anything of the workings of Nature of Nature's ways so little I know
Of Nature's ways I know as much now as I did five decades ago.

The poets love Spring for Nature's greenery her beauty them always inspire
In their words they always laud the Earth Mother of singing her praises they never do tire
And the artists try to capture some of nature's beauty on their canvas the flora and fauna of the woods and the hills and sea shore
I know of so many fine artists in fact there has never been more.

The day for November quite warm even warm for the time of year
And on the wattle tree in the garden the song of the blackbird I hear
'Tis said when birds sing in warm sunshine that rain cannot be far away
The radio weather forecaster says the weather is changing with thunder showers later today.

Is Born

The illusion of an angel
Taking care of my teps, is born.

The belief that you will be there
Taking care of me, is born.

Let me believe these sunny days
Are your smile and the sparkle in your look.

Let me dream that this warm weather
In the midst of winter
Is the intangibility of your hug
Sorrounding me.

That you are commanding the weather
So to keep away
A grey, cold and cloudy day
From flaking its sadness
And blowing myself to smithereens.

Oh life how wild you are and unfair
The days are chasing days
Like the drops of rain are my pain

Where the time will fade so fast
The life cant wait for the pain to end

Not many days when the summer is gone
And the water is dry
The silence of war
You can never go home
You can not ever go home
So many lights in the heaven I saw
When the living were dead
And the mother instead
Keeps her little boy warm
Keeping her little boy warm
Fools never knowing
Never knew which storm was blowing
No one left to save the day
Only night last forever
All the truth don't change my weather
Let me live
