Tears Of Years
As the years do come
And the years will go
And the years keep rushing on by.
Will you have done for me,
What I have done for you
Or will I just sit and cry.
No limit has been set,
From me to you
As the things my soul say I must do.
So the sky is your limit
Money and work will be no obstacle,
For I, truly do love you.
When you look back from years
You will look back with cheers
Reflecting back, to me and my deeds.
You will remember them all
As them always you will recall,
liken the Gardener who plants His seeds.
For again they will grow
With each smile and laugh you show
Everyday and every year of your life.
Then you will look into my eyes,
As though to erase tears I have cried,
Knowing mine weren't nourished, so they died.

Years From Now
As I see myself many years from now
I am relaxed and happy as I am retired
No longer tied to work or chained to a plow
Living my life and situation that I have long desired,
I most certainly will still be reflecting and writing
While remembering the adventures of my life
But I will not be arguing or even fighting
As I will be tired of that cumbersome strife,
I will also think of the good deeds I have done
Also I will smile remembering the joy I have brought
As GOD knows I was a good father and a good son
And never pain or dishonor from anyone had I sought,
I will probably also think about my past loves
And truly in my heart I wish them all well
Sadly we were unmatched like worn out gloves
But it wasn't I who discarded them, as I did not fail,
I will remember all the accomplishments that I achieved
When I look back at all those yesterdays
And I will also remember the tears I had grieved
But to my strength and determination I will give praise,
Many years from now I see myself as a happy man
I will had accomplished no more that what GOD would allow
Being happy and joyful though will be my greatest plan
As I see myself, many years from now.

Years of Tears
Years of tears for no ears to hear, lonely for years am I
Years of tears for no ears to hear in silence they dropp and die
Years of tears, hidden deep, I cannot weep, nor cry.
Years of tears, for many fears of dying alone, I sigh.
Years of tears which no one hears as many years go by.
Years of tears in the lonely sky, my tears grow wings and fly.
Years of tears, my smile shines, through its little lines, I lie.
Years of tears, my somber peers through my melancholy eye
Tears of tears, Years of Years, in my soul, I tie.
Years of tears for no ears to hear my tears weep goodbye….

Grow Old Together
I know never to say forever,
But lets grow old together
Lets not our years, had disappeared
Falling like lonely tears.
So lets stay so young,
As we greet the moon and sun
To be as new like the morning dew,
Awakening with a child's smile.
So lets shed not many tears
By falling through empty years,
But to both be here forever,
And we will both grow old together.

Through The Years
(steve dorff/m. panzer)
I cant remember when you werent there
When I didnt care for anyone but you
I swear weve been through everything there is
Cant imagine anything weve missed
Cant imagine anything the two of us cant do
Through the year, youve never let me down
You turned my life around, the sweetest days Ive found
Ive found with you ... through the years
Ive never been afraid, Ive loved the life weve made
And Im so glad Ive stayed, right here with you
Through the years
I cant remember what I used to do
Who I trusted whom, I listened to before
I swear youve taught me everything I know
Cant imagine needing someone so
But through the years it seems to me
I need you more and more
Through the years, through all the good and bad
I knew how much we had, Ive always been so glad
To be with you ... through the years
Its better everyday, youve kissed my tears away
As long as its okay, Ill stay with you
Through the years
Through the years, when everything went wrong
Together we were strong, I know that I belonged
Right here with you ... through the years
I never had a doubt, wed always work things out
Ive learned what loves about, by loving you
Through the years
Through the years, youve never let me down
Youve turned my life around, the sweetest days Ive found
Ive found with you ... through the years
Its better everyday, youve kissed my tears away
As long as its okay, Ill stay with you
Through the years!

Oh, How The Years Go By
In our times of trouble
We only had ourselves
Nobody else
No one there to save us
We had to save ourselves
And when the storms came through
They found me and you
Back to back together
And when the sun would shine
It was yours and mine
Yours and mine forever
Chorus:
And oh how the years go by
And oh how the love brings tears to my eyes
All through the changes the soul never dies
We fight, we laugh, we cry
As the years go by
There were times we stumbled
They thought they had us down
But we came around
How we rolled and rambled
We got lost and we got found
Now were back on solid ground
We took everything
All our times would bring
In this world of dangers
cause when your heart is strong
You know youre not alone
In this world of strangers
(repeat chorus)
And if we lose our way
Any night or day
Well well always be
Where we should be
Im there for you
And I know youre there for me
(repeat chorus twice)
As the years go by

The Day Old Shep Died
it's been thirty years,
that he's been gone,
the day he died, brought tears,
all day, i played his song.
for nine long years,
i loved him and he loved me,
the day he died, broght tears,
toward the end, he could barely see.
when he died, i was seventeen years,
my child hood died that day,
the day he died, brought tears,
during his youth, we were always at play.
him and i was, so close in years,
when i got shep he was five and i eight,
the day he died brought tears,
he always ate his meals, off our plate.
he died at eighty-four in human years,
he lived to a ripe old age,
the day he died brought tears,
for this poem, he set the stage.
i can't believe, its been so many years,
i think about him, all the time,
the day he died, brought tears,
but old shep, was all mind.
of all these many years,
no dog has taken the place of old shep,
the day he died, brought tears,
i'll always remember, that dog with pep
in memory of old shep 1946-1960 written june 21,1990
In The Way Back Then
Seven years ago,
I went back to Canada
after forty-two years.
I walked down a road
to show my wife where I used to live.
The road was built on rolling hills
and as I came over one,
I knew instantly where I was.
Things had changed
in those forty-two years,
some would say
it was unrecognisable
from what I used to know,
but as soon as I started down the hill
things came back like yesterday.
It was as if I had never been away.
Memories of my childhood
instantly sprang to mind.
I found myself seeing things
not as the now,
but there were changes
from the way back then.
The memory flashes
brought a smile to my face
as I could visualise
all the friends I knew then,
the funny incidents that over my life
in the way back then.
All too soon, time
has a way of taking things back
and my memory reclined them
to the back door of my mind.

If I could get back the lost years
If I could get back the lost years
I would kiss and wipe all the tears
That fell when I hurt you
That I never noticed, never knew.
If I could get back the lost years
I would bring you back all the cheers
That I never really could bring you
I cared so little, I never knew.
If I could get back the lost years
I would give anything to be together
Just loving and never hurting you
That so sadly I missed, I never knew.

My Friends Back In My Prime Years
My friends back in my prime years I never did disown
It's just that I live far from them and apart we have grown
We drank and played football together but our separate ways we've gone
And we have forged new friendships and life of course goes on.
My friends back in my prime years may now look a bit gray
And they might not know me or I might not know them if by chance we met today
In my memory they have remained young but in reality
The years have left their mark on them as the years have left their mark on me.
Old father time the aloof one to anyone doesn't bow
And some of my friends of my prime years may be grand parents now
Perhaps they now are showing their age and time has left them slow
They could run fast as I recall some twenty years ago.
My friends back in my prime years I may now not recognize
For time leaves it's mark on all of us I've come to realize
I drunk beer with them in the pub and with them played football
And that was many years ago as I can well recall.

Today; Tomorrow
Today
It’s been five years since I have heard your voice.
Today
It’s been five years since I have heard your laugh.
Today
It’s been five years since I have seen your smile.
Today
Is the saddest day for me.
Today
I still remember like it was yesterday.
Today
I feel numb just like how I felt five years ago.
Today
I can still remember how I ran and didn’t want to stop.
Today
I still feel the emptiness of knowing I won’t ever see you again.
Today
I try and smile for you knowing that you are watching over me.
Today
I let my tears roll down slowly down my cheeks.
Today
I remember how you were so happy to be home.
Today
I still know that you didn’t have to suffer no more.
Today
I still try hard not to blame myself why you left my world.
Today
I sit here and remember the memories I have of you.
But tomorrow
I will still smile for you.

I Will Remember You
I watched you leave the front door
Knowing you wont be back again
I kept reminding myself over and over
That it just all had to come to an end
I Will Remember You
You walked away and didn't look back
My eyes were so full of tears
That instant it all came back to me
All the love we shared for years
I Will Remember You

Time Will Tell
One day for myself time will tell
If my endeavors in life will send me to hell
But until that I moment I hope not to dwell
As I hope unto my eternity that I will not fail.
I will think to myself of the things I had done
The jobs I have finished and the works I begun
As I worked with my mind and not my tongue
And I greeted everyday with the rising sun.
But time will tell hopefully years from now
As I brush the perspiration away from my brow
It ends as an adult and began when I was a child
Hopefully I wont leave as a coward but will stand proud.
My life though is of both love and hate
Some call it destiny while others call it fate
My soul for many was just an open gate
But hopefully someday my passions I will reinstate.
In the end though my life deeds will prevail
From the things I did and the stories I did tell
The accomplishments made and the work that did fail
Only then will I know if I will make it to heaven or hell.

Take It To The Limit
All alone at the end of the evening
And the bright lights have faded to blue
I was thinking bout a woman who might have
Loved me and I never knew
You know Ive always been a dreamer
(spent my life running round)
And its so hard to change
(cant seem to settle down)
But the dreams Ive seen lately
Keep on turning out and burning out
And turning out the same
So put me on a highway
And show me a sign
And take it to the limit one more time
You can spend all your time making money
You can spend all your love making time
If it all fell to pieces tomorrow
Would you still be mine?
And when youre looking for freedom
(nobody seems to care)
And you can find the door
(cant find it anywhere)
When theres nothing to believe in
Still youre coming back, youre running back for more
So put me on a highway
And show me a sign
And take it to the limit one more time
Take it to the limit
Take it to the limit
Take it to the limit one more time

Mary O
She went to Dublin in the late sixties off hand can't say what year
For to live with her only child her daughter Peg O Deere
And still her happy laughter comes to me from long ago
The heart and soul of Claraghatlea kindhearted Mary O.
The only daughter of Mary and Jack the Master her only brother Jack
Died in England many years ago of a major heart attack
And Mary O outlived them all and 'tis said she's still going strong
And may she live to be over one hundred years and may her life be long.
I've known her since I was young lad since I was knee high tall
A mentor of my childhood years and one I still recall
She must have been over forty years when I was a schoolgoing boy
And with her happy hearty laugh she spread the gifty of joy.
In my memory she is still quite young she never did grow old
In her mid life when I was a boy she has a heart of gold
And I still hear her hearty laugh across the miles away
And I'll remember Mary O till my own final day.

Do You Remember
Do you remember when you said I wasn't listening to you,
But you know that I really couldn't.
Do you remember when I asked you to repeat what you said,
And too me you said that you wouldn't.
Do you remember when you got mad at me daily for my hearing,
And I told you that you shouldn't.
Do you remember when I flew thousands of miles,
So that I could Just to be with you.
Do you remember also when I flew you here to my home,
So that we could become just two.
Do you remember when I did or went wherever that you wanted,
And all you really had to do was only to ask me to.
Do you remember how I went into deep, deep debt,
So that I could get you all that you did and do own.
Do you remember how I said that everything of mine was yours,
Which included my heart and also my home.
Do you remember how you then mocked and laughed at me,
When collectors would come and not leave me alone.
Do you remember when I prayed to GOD for our love,
Every single day and also every night.
Do you remember how happy and proud I always was of you,
And all you had to do was stand at my side.
Do you remember all the argument that you started with me,
And with me you would love to argue and fight.
Do you remember those many plans that we had made,
But never alone but while we were together.
Do you also remember how I would always say,
That you and I would always be forever.
Do you also remember as I still do and that I always will,
That once again you secretly chose some other.
Do you still remember the many sins that you've done,
And also the many lies to me that you had spoke.
Do you still remember the times that you weren't in our home,
Especially the times you weren't there when I had awoke.
Do you still remember those many times when you just hid away,
I wonder still if your conscience ever did choke.
Do you still remember and of course I always will, ,
How you have done this again and also once before.
Do you still remember how you had use all your other men,
So that you could get what you were looking for.
Do you remember how you lied and how you used them too,
Maybe that's why you always left for a different shore.
Do you remember the vows and promises that you made,
And once again in front of GOD and in the presence of man.
Do you remember how you would always be at your mans side,
While you were holding onto another mans hand.
Do you remember all those promises you made and then broke,
I wish truly that you I could understand.
Did you also know that years or even days from now,
Your eyes will begin to grow a bit dimmer.
Did you also know that about that same time from now,
Your heart will rebel and will begin to shimmer.
Did you also know about that same time GOD you will meet,
And then did you also know, that GOD too will also remember.

The Mirror
I look into my mirror
So I can see who I am,
But all I see is myself,
I don't ever see a man.
There stands a sad soul
Who is unhappy with himself,
Who wished that he was different,
As I wish; He was someone else.
I stare into my mirror
As always to myself I softly cry,
I wonder why no one ever hears me
And why in this life must I survive.
I wish that I was different
Though I know that, will never be
It be like the pebble becoming the rock
Or a bush, becoming a tree.
I gaze into my mirror
As I stand there all alone
Why must it be me against the world
Why must I help every one else’s moan.
I then see the fool that I am
He is gazing right back at me,
I know that he will always fail
Because a man, they wont let him be.
I reflect into my mirror
As I see my years come and go,
I know that for me, it will only be me
And for everyone else I must show.
And I know the time will come one day
When my son will make his stand,
And into his mirror I hope when he looks,
Through the help of family and friends, he sees a man.

Can’t Hold Back The Years
I sit here reading the letter
as my tears smudge the ink.
I can’t hold them back
no more than I could
hold back the years.
The words say you have left me
that you’ve moved out today.
That you won’t be coming back
no matter what I say.
I sit with my head bowed
remembering good time we had.
Remembering the sorrow and sadness
that followed in the good times wake.
Remembering those precious moments,
we wanted to last forever,
but disappeared at the blink of an eye.
I can’t hold back the years
nor the tears I cry.
Tomorrow heralds a brand new day,
a brand new start some would say.
When we should erase yesterdays
and start a new life,
but it isn’t that easy,
as we need our yesterdays
to build that new day.
If we haven’t got them,
what will happen is hard to say.
As I sit here and read your letter
my tears still fall,
and I can’t hold back the years
no more than I can hold back the tears
for our lost yesterdays.
