Make Time to Be Alone

Make time of your own
To be alone!
Away from the rush around
Away from the droning sound
Leaving the drudgery behind
Wallowing in your mind!
No mask, no farce
With you, you converse.

Make Up Mind

I cant seem to make up my mind
I cant tell the colors
That will fit this room
I cant tell a thing about you make up my mind
I cant seem to make up my mind
Are you laughing at me
Or telling a joke, the cigarette on the sheet
Begins to smoke, make up your mind
Right or left, up or down
In or out, straight or round
Love or lust, rain or shine
I cant seem to make up my poor mind
I cant seem to make up my mind
I cant tell the difference between wrong and right
Are you laughing at me in your sleep tonight
Leaving me behind
Leaving me behind
Why dont you make up your mind
(I cant seem to make up my mind)
About leaving me, baby
(I cant seem to make up my mind)
(I cant seem to make up my mind)
(I cant seem to make up my mind)

Its A Fire

Its a fire
These dreams they pass me by
This salvation I desire
Keeps getting me down
Cos we need to
Recognise mistakes
For time and again
So let it be known for what we believe in
I can see no reason for it to fail.... ...
Cos this life is a farce
I cant breathe through this mask
Like a fool
So breathe on, sister breathe on
From this oneself
Testify or tell
Its fooling us now
So let it be known for what we believe in
I can see no reason for it to fail...
Cos this life is a farce
I cant breathe through this mask
Like a fool
So breathe on, little sister, breathe on
Ohh so breathe on, little sister, like a fool

Leavings Not Leaving

Title from anywhere but here
Starring susan sarandon
Sometimes a time comes along
When its time to, time to move on
Youll still be there in everything that I do
And wherever I go
Ill remember you
Leavings not leaving
cause Im not, leaving you behind
Youll always be with me, always be with me
Part of my heart for all time
Where Im going , youre going
Even if its just in my mind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you behind
Moments shared there with you
Theyre the best times that I ever knew
Theyll still be there when godbyes are all though
Ill remember those days
Ill remember you
Leavings not leaving
cause Im not, leaving you behind
Youll always be with me, always be with me
Part of my heart for all time
Where Im going , youre going
Even if its just in my mind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you behind
Ill hold on the memories
cause in my heart youll be here with me
Theres no reason to cry
Goddbye isnt really goodbye
Leavings not leaving
cause Im not, leaving you behind
Youll always be with me, always be with me
Part of my heart for all time
Where Im going , youre going
Even if its just in my mind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you behind
Leavings not leaving
Not leaving you behind
Im not leaving you
Im not leaving you behind
Leavings not leaving
Im not leaving you
Im not leaving you behind

Make Me A Mask

Make me a mask
That I can wear
till day is done
The wind in the trees
The falling leaves
The worlds spinning
Make me a mask
So I can laugh
till night time comes
No more can I stay
How long must I play
This game of winning
If I had known this was only a dream
I would have awakened from this sleep
Make me a mask
So I can last
till the right time comes
A tear in my eye
To light I fly
An end is beginning

Wearing It Now

People are around
I know I’ll be alright
The mask doesn’t hurt
No tears
Come from the mask
I put my own on
Thinking that’s the only way it should be
Becoming someone not even I can recognize
In the puddle on the ground
Stomping in it knowing this is not me
Then when the people go away
So does mask
This is the scene in the play I don’t know my lines
For I get scared and choke every time
Mine my mask just changes from
White-ish pink to a dark red
Where the mask simply goes from
Oh look at me I don’t do any thing wrong
To black showing it’s true colors
Whoever said black was all the rainbow mixed together
Is wring in this case
There is no other feeling other then black
Like truck tiers black
No sadness no joy just anger and hatred
The mask gets switched around from him to her
All the time I never know who is wearing it or
If the both of them are sharing it at the same time
So walking through that broken old door
That squeaks and carries on when you open it
You never know if this time
Will be the one time that will kill you
Or break your back
But you hope like heck you make it through
‘Cause if you don’t then you know your not
The only one the mask subjects
And the others will not survive without you

On A Plateau Leaving

On a plateau leaving...
Are those who stood by to warn,
And 'suggest'...
Times to leave behind,
Limiting and upsetting pettiness...
Would overnight,
Be as useless as a waste of breath.

On a plateau leaving,
Are those who have achieved...
A higher consciousness.
And not one is looking to find,
Anyone from fading times...
Who did not have this addressed.

On a plateau leaving,
Are those in a new state of mind.
And...
On a plateau leaving,
Those who are commited to defeat and confine.
And...
On a plateau leaving,
Are those in a new state of mind.
And...
On a plateau leaving.
On a plateau leaving.

On a plateau leaving,
Are those in a new state of mind.
And...
On a plateau leaving,
Those who are commited to defeat and confine.
And...
On a plateau leaving,
Are those in a new state of mind.
And...
On a plateau leaving.
On a plateau leaving.
Yes...
On a plateau leaving,
Are those in a new state of mind.
And...
On a plateau leaving.
On a plateau leaving behind.

And...
On a plateau leaving.
On a plateau leaving
On a plateau leaving,
Are those in a new state of mind.
And...
On a plateau leaving.
On a plateau leaving.

Mistaking Paint For Faint

it is the rush
but why the rush?
it is the shortness of the breath
of time
inside the nostrils of
the unwavering
what the mind means
goes with the sound
and the fingers
as lousy as
then

the building
faints
(nice metaphor)
when what is meant
was that
the building is painted
white, a while, you mean?
gosh, this is the rush
of life
committing to a
commitment of mistakes
here and there
but why bother?
it is something that you leave
without paying much
attention

off you go,
let them bark
like dogs on the
wrong tree.

Angel In Pink Converse

She flew right past me one day,
My eyes must have been blinded by her light,
For seconds later she was gone.
So she must have been an angel,
I fell in love with an angel in pink Converse.

Before I could stop and say ‘hello’,
She’d flown away,
And I could only remember the image of
The angel in pink Converse,
My angel in pink Converse.

If all angels were like she,
I would glad die to join them all,
But could they be more beautiful
Than the angel in pink Converse,
My angel in pink Converse.

Maybe, maybe,
Someday she’ll fly again my way,
And I would stop and talk for awhile,
To the angel in pink Converse,
My angel in pink Converse.
Perhaps they all wear Converse in Heaven?

The leader of men in warfare can show himself to his followers only through a mask, a mask that he must make for himself, but a mask made in such form as will mark him to men of his time and place as the leader they want and need.

Sonnet: God Can’t Be Duped

Although I laugh within my heart, I cry;
Although I smile within myself, I’m sad;
Although I sin, avoiding it I try;
Although I’m sound, sometimes I feel, I’m mad.

Some actors make expressions of all kind;
Some wear a mask to dupe the beholder;
The face for all is mirror of the mind,
Becoming wrinkled, mask-like when older.

How long can you thus cheat the world this way?
Experienced men discern the false from true;
Such tricks cannot protect you every day;
There are so many ways to get a cue!

Yet, none can dupe the Maker of your heart!
He knows too well, all creatures and their art.

Shades Of The Past

Verse 1:
Red as the roses come
My love it never was
Dark as the evening sky
We let love pass us by
I was caught in the middle
Somewhere in the gray
Now its time to leave that all behind
My uncertain yesterdays
Chorus:
Now its black or white
Now its wrong or right
I cant live without you here
Shades of the past are long gone
Ive got one thing on my mind...
Theres a choice to make
Therell be no mistake
The time has come around
Im leaving no middle ground
...let my heart be the only sound
Verse 2:
Pink is not red or white
But you brought me pink roses tonight
And I got to thinking to myself
Oh the time is right
A promise is stronger
Than a whisper
So I say goodbye to our yesterdays
And leave behind those shades of gray
Chorus
Chorus
Chorus
...let my heart be the only, only sound
(black or white, wrong or right)
Oh theres a choice to make
Therell be no mistake
The time has come around
Im leaving no middle ground
...let my heart be the only (only) sound

Put a Sock In It

Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Today there is just too much stuff.
And people are getting fed up!

Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Today there is just too much stuff.
And people are getting fed up!

Many getting sick of the pickiness started.
And when it gets sticky they can not stop.
Instigating agitation with annoyance.
Dropping all they've got to tie a mind in knots.

Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Today there is just too much stuff.
And people are getting fed up!

Can't you see them strike poses and begin to 'cheese'.
Then plop on their knees,
To make their pleas.
These same folks cry about bad luck.
With claims their butts are stuck in ruts.

Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Today there is just too much stuff.
And people are getting fed up!

Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Folks have had enough,
And fed up!

Put a sock in it,
Maybe this will rush a hush.
Folks have had enough,
And fed up!

Folks have had enough.
Folks have had enough.
Folks have had enough.
And fed up!

The Right Mask

One night a poem came up to a poet
From now on, it said, you must wear a mask.
What kind of mask? asked the poet.
A rose mask, said the poem.
I've used it already, said the poet,
I've exhausted it.
Then wear the mask that's made out of
a nightingale's song, use that mask.
Oh, it's an old mask, said the poet,
it's all used up.
Nonsense, said the poem, it's the perfect mask,
still, try on the god mask,
now that mask illuminates heaven.
It's a tight mask, said the poet,
and the stars crawl about in it like ants.
Then try on the troubador's mask, or the singer's mask,
try on all the popular masks.
I have, said the poet, but they fit so easily.

The poem was getting impatient,
it stamped its feet like a child,
it screamed. Then try on your own face,
try the one mask that terrifies,
the mask only you could possibly use,
the mask only you could wear out.

The poet tore at his face til it bled,
this mask? he yelled, this mask?
Yes, said the poem, yes.

But the poet was tired of masks,
he had lived too long with them,
he snatched at the poem and stuck it in his face.
Its screams were muffled, it wept, it tried to be lyrical,
it wriggled into his eyes and mouth.

Next day his friends were afraid of him,
he looked so distorted.
Now it's the right mask, said the poem, the right mask.
It clung to him lovingly and never let go again.

The Invisible Circus

I looked around
and found the prancing devils
showered in sacred veils,
the cobbled pavements
filled with footsteps
without any pursuit

Why am I here?
And nowhere at all?
This dreadful drudgery
seething into my lungs,
this farce comedy
lurking like a tiger
ready to pounce

Such banal superficiality
in tragic charades -
caprices and cavalcades;
why do I have to play
this goddamn harlequinade?

Climb Pyramid Steps Touch The Sky

Take off the life mask
by putting on a mask
for a festival carnival

of community celebration
put on the masquerade mask
to put on an original face

free an original mind
thought is a pattern mask

taught in word rhetoric
free soul sought mind
escape word limitations

ancient ritual pathways
climb pyramid steps
to touch unmasked sky.

Converse In Silence

when ego declines
your heart's insistence;
love,
converse in silence..

when words cease to exist
and mind repudiates;
love,
converse in silence..

when each word you say
is always held against;
love,
converse in silence..

asked to quit the game
far worse, you couldn't complain;
love's
too terse with silence!

My Farce

My farce depicts my rage along the time,
May language find a fault with some of these
Little diseases of this age that states.
Words devastate the real divisions now,
Now that is godly finding me and you.
My farce destroys a little sun of us,
The star for all of us shall carry one,
And this demand defends my actual goal.
Time staggers as the gods roll one over you.

Mask and Mask
Here mask, there mask
Musk over musk

I have forgotten my childhood face
I have lost my childhood eyes
I have lost my childhood smiles

Where is my cittern
Where is my clad

Where I lost my self

Play with clay
Sand pitch and the toys
Dews of grass
I grab with joy

Who taught me to wear mask
From where I learn to put me in husk

Every time we cheat our self
Every time we make delft
Hassle hassle the crazy cage.

Mask

You're wearing a mask
You're wearing a mask
You're wearing a mask
You look better that way
You're wearing a mask
You're wearing a mask
You're wearing a mask
You look better that way
Are you my friend ?
Are you my plumber ?
Are you my God ?
What do you do ?
Wearing a mask
You're wearing a mask
You're wearing a mask
Which mask are you ?
Which mask are you ?
Complicated crushed up disappointed squirming angry thrusting stabbing regretting starving greedy human alien being, struggling down the street, up the alley, in the elevator, through the party, to the office, in the bedroom, on your way to the morgue. Bullshitting, lying, doing a good deed or feeling loved barely possible. Aware of insatiable demands of not a society all around you. Chunky frat boys in their shorts, pimps with old semite eyes, sex hoochies of the jungle, sensitive smart alec college graduates, critics fronting franticly in New York city, every body in L.A just plain licking ass or having it licked, irony in place of balls, balls in place of brains, brains in place of soul, where is the soul?, where is the love?, where am i?
Which mask are you ?
Which mask are you ?
Which mask are you ?

which mask are you ?
