Dreams are no escape
He spends his work squabbling, haggling over a rupee
Foul mouths, abuses and all that drains his energy
You couldn’t tell if he is drunk just pretending to be sober
Battling through a rotten life, his ordeal never really over!
But when night comes and the half ball silver glows
Leaving behind the muck, he can stop being morose
He neither reflects on his misery nor feels the need to weep
On a six by six potholed floor, quickly he falls asleep!
Are you not curious to know if dreams visit him then?
With sweet angels with words of love or beautiful women
No curses no shouting men, only friends surrounding him
Hugging him, cheering him, he is a winner in his dream!
Or the same evils haunt him, the ones that storm his day
Mock him, spit on his face, kick him out of their way
He struggles to find his way out, shouting curses in his sleep
There’s no light or end of the tunnel, he doesn’t know to weep!

Shouting...
i cannot sleep for this constant shouting...
the shouting of trees, the shouting of alleyways,
the shouting of rats crawling through trash.
the shouting of needles and Family Bibles,
the shouting of flags folded and given.
the shouting of machines, abandoned and morose,
the shouting of fields gone barren.
the shouting of poverty ripping color from being,
the shouting of hunger in faces silent.
the shouting of guns loaded and unloaded,
the shouting of clinics, filled without names.
the shouting of prayers wriiten in pavement,
the shouting of rivers filled with sewage.
the shouting of birth, and the shouting of death...
the shouting of love, distant and forgotten.
the shouting of god, in doubt's innumerable forms.

Foul Mouths Shouting
This magic we hold...
Comes from deep 'withinside' of us.
The moment our hearts began to beat...
That magic of life,
Began
To sweep us up in its wonder....to keep,
In wonder.
And so ungrateful we become,
Soon after that's done.
With a so too often shown...
Disrespect to be allowed.
And foul mouths shouting...
In someone's house.
And so ungrateful we become,
And soon after that's done.
Foul mouths shouting...
In someone's house
To cuss it!
For what it is,
And what it is not!
Soiled from the beginning.
And spoiled to aggrevate and annoy!
A lot!
Until there is conflict.
And it does come.
And so ungrateful we become,
And soon after that's done.
Foul mouths shouting...
In someone's house
And we re-act the way we've been taught,
To defend ourselves.
From those 'bad guys'.
With their differences...
Few make attempts to hide.
Foul mouths shouting...
In someone's house rise.
And we spy on 'them'...
To undercover their weak spots!
Making it easier to do them in.
To cuss it!
For what it is,
And what it is not!
Soiled from the beginning.
And spoiled to aggrevate and annoy!
A lot.
Until there is conflict.
And it does start!
And so ungrateful we become,
And soon after that's done.
Foul mouths shouting...
In someone's house
To cuss it!
For what it is,
And what it is not!
Soiled from the beginning.
And spoiled to aggrevate and annoy!
A lot.
Until there is conflict.
And it comes to start again!
Foul mouths shouting...
To cuss it!
For what it is.
Foul mouths shouting...
To cuss it!
For what it is.
Foul mouths shouting...
To cuss it!
For what it is.
To cuss it!
For what it is.
To cuss it!
For what it is.
Cuss it!
For what it is.
To Cuss it!
For what it is.
Cuss it!
Cuss it!
Cuss it!
Cuss it!
Cuss it!
For what it is.
To Cuss it!
For what it is.
Cuss it!
For what it is.

Afraid To Sleep
We slept in this room together but now youre gone
And its so quiet I turn the tv on
We lived in this room together we painted the walls
Now time doesnt stand still
It crawls
And Im afraid to sleep
Cuz if I do I dream of you
And dreams are always deep
On the pillow where I weep
I never realized how much I was in love with you
Until you started sleeping with someone new
Last night I dreamed again and you were there
You kissed my face you touched my hair
And Im afraid to sleep
Cuz if I do I dream of you
And dreams are always deep
On the pillow where I weep
Lying alone in the darkness with a memory in my head
Theres a big hole where my heart is
And a lonely feeling rollin round my bed
And Im afraid to sleep
Cuz if I do I dream of you
Im afraid to sleep
Cuz if I do I dream of you
And dreams are always deep
On the pillow where I weep
On the pillow where I weep
Im afraid to sleep.

As i lay asleep......
Soft cushion
Flavoured incense
I lay asleep
Night
Day
All the same
I lay asleep
Hurted deep
Women weep
I lay asleep
I lay asleep
Amidst the noise
Mortal body
Left with no choice
Drones of people
Flock around
Curious for my name
In moments of despair
Feeling of fame
Its all over
Forget me now
Lay me lower
My house-the ground
And let me sleep
Let me sleep
Sleep
Sleep, forever........

Is There Anyone Out There?
Staring at the stars at night
it makes you wonder
if this is the only planet with life
in the vastness of space.
You feel like shouting at times.
Is there anyone out there?
People see things in the night sky
that they cannot explain.
Even in the daylight
mysterious objects appear unexplained
and all the time you feel like shouting.
Is there anyone out there?
Years from now when
we might have learned to listen,
we might find someone else
is really out there listening
to us shouting.
Is there anyone out there?
It is quite possible one day
in the truth we might find
that all the time we’ve been shouting
someone else has been out there
shouting back at us too.
Is there anyone out there?

In Absence
WAKE, do you wake in the dark in the strange far place,
Window and door not set like the ones we knew,
Leaning your face through the dark for another face,
Stretching your arms to the arms that are far from you,
Even as I, through the depth of this darkness, do?
Sleep, do you sleep in the house in the lonely land?
In the lonely room do you hear no steps draw near?
Do you miss in the darkness the hand that implores your hand,
See through the darkness your last dream disappear,
And weep, as I weep, in the outer darkness here?
Dream, do you dream? Nay, never a dream will stay,
Never a phantom is fond, or a vision kind.
Your dreams elude you and fly through the dark my way,
My dreams fly forth to you whom they may not find;
And we in the darkness weep, we weep and are left behind.

Weep Day
I never went to the tropical island
Though everybody said they saw me there
And it wasnt me you punched a hole in
At the west german protest march
Simultaneous events dont happen
We are isolated temporally
And a part is never called the whole thing
Though it bothers us to know its so
Every man is made of two opinions
Every woman has a second half
And its samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man (samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man)
Yes, its samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man (samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man)
I didnt write the words you hear me singing (didnt write the words you hear me singing)
I didnt sing the line before this one (didnt sing the line before this one)
You are not the one I was addressing (you are not the one I was addressing)
That person took a train to africa (africa)
Where he met the consulate from belgium
Who is now a buddhist in a cave
Who is pitching for the oakland raiders
Striking out the batter she became
Every man is made of two opinions
Every woman has a second half
And its samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man (samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man)
Yes, its samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man (samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man)
Yes, its samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man (samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man)
Weep day for urine man (weep day for urine man)
Weep day for urine man (weep day for urine man)
Weep day for urine man (weep day for urine man)
Weep day weep day

Weep day weep day

Weep In Silence
You who thought
Your eyes could tell no lies
So your life became a compromise
And it was you
Who had seen men dyin
You heard their children cryin
While their women weep in silence
And you who thought
You were so wise
Succeeded only in disguise
Now and then
Youd find a bridge to cross
Reach the other side
And youd still be lost
Evaded by the sweet smell of life
And the people that you try
To show the way
Never believe you
Never believe you - no way
While your women weep in silence
Your women weep in silence
Women weep in silence

Nullify
Nullify all curses of failure in your life and come and stay with my muse,
For you will then free yourself very loose with my deep love;
So do not weep my sweet one.

The Drunk
I wasn’t always a drunk
Once I was a child - a little girl
Who wanted love
Which she found - in a bottle
At first it had been fun
There were friends and laughter
She felt complete, unbroken for the first time
But it stole something I couldn’t afford to lose
It took my sanity – for awhile
It took over my life – and my child
Withered and died
I can’t get her back
I’ve tried
But I was a drunk
The kind that drinks in the morning
And falls asleep with a glass in her hand
That spills
Red liquid onto the floor
Who laughs too loud
In a crowd
And doesn’t know
She’s not the centre of attention because she’s fun

If We'd Stop!
if we'd stop shouting at each other...
if we'd stop shaking angry fists.
if we'd stop lying to ourselves.
if we'd stop running from the mirror.
if we'd stop playing religion and politics.
if we'd stop declaring war.
if we'd stop living by our taking...
if we'd stop pointing fingers.
if we'd stop pretending to be men and women...
only if we'd stop!

Golden Rain
There is no Golden rain in real life
But in our dreams you and I see it clear
It falls from the sky
It paints our face golden like the sun
It doesn’t matter in the dream
Because it is only in the dream that can happen
The trees and the flowers and the grass are golden also
Nothing like that would had happen in real life
Because in real life the rain is silver
And our face doesn’t change color with the rain
It only happens in our dream
Weird things happen when we are dreaming
The are no birds to see
What a strange land this is
No house
No cars
No bus
No other people
But you and me
That Golden rain keeps falling non stop
And keep raining down that creek
That Golden rain doesn’t look nice at all
Not even in our dreams
What about the weather
It is cold and miserable
It makes us even more tired
And we want to sleep more
It is happening now in our dreams
And that Golden rain in our dream is not going to hurt us
There is no acid in that Golden rain
And that land in our dream is not polluted like the land in real life

Kick Off Ball
Kick off ball,
Kick the ball to win the game!
But, with fair play.
Player,
Lyricist,
Arranger,
Keeper,
Composer,
Winner! !
But it was only yesterday that i found you;
And like the game ball in the land of your muse.
Face to face,
Again and again!
But pay and take it;
And, play the match to win the game! !
Play the ball,
Kick the ball,
And like the African Cup of Nations!
Race, ace, face, brace, mace, place, lace;
But words are things upon a thought,
And like something long lost! !
However, play the ball into the net to win the game.

My Little Man
Dont you know I love you more than life itself,
Dont you know that youre my pride
And I would not have you walking through this world.
Without me by your side
Go to sleep my little man
Dont you weep my little man
Id like to keep you with me all your life,
But I know I cant do that
So I must try to teach you wrong from right,
To keep the vulture from your back
Go to sleep my little man
Dont you weep my little man
And when youre dreaming you can talk to angels,
So wipe the tears from your eyes
And if theres demons that try to steal you breath away.
You cant believe that, know my spirit will be standing by your side
You saved me, you gave me, the greatest gift of all
Believe me, believe, there aint no mountain thats too tall
I will gladly carry your cross for you,
To take your pain away
But what I cant carry is my love for you,
Beyond my dying day
So be strong my little man
When Im gone my little man
You got to be my little man
So dont you weep my little man
Go to sleep my little man
Dont you weep my little man
You got to be my little man
So dont you weep my little man

A Rocking Hymn
Sweet baby, sleep! what ails my dear,
What ails my darling thus to cry?
Be still, my child, and lend thine ear
To hear me sing thy lullaby.
My pretty lamb, forbear to weep;
Be still, my dear; sweet baby, sleep.
Thou blessed soul, what canst thou fear?
What thing to thee can mischief do?
Thy God is now thy father dear,
His holy Spouse, thy mother too.
Sweet baby, then forbear to weep;
Be still, my babe; sweet baby, sleep.
Though thy conception was in sin,
A sacred bathing thou hast had;
And, though thy birth unclean hath been,
A blameless babe thou now art made.
Sweet baby, then forbear to weep;
Be still, my dear; sweet baby, sleep,
While thus thy lullaby I sing,
For thee great blessings ripening be;
Thine eldest brother is a King,
And hath a kingdom bought for thee.
Sweet baby, then forbear to weep;
Be still, my babe; sweet baby, sleep.
Sweet baby, sleep and nothing fear,
For whosoever thee offends,
By thy protector threat'ned are,
And God and angels are thy friends.
Sweet baby, then forbear to weep;
Be still, my babe; sweet baby, sleep.
When God with us was dwelling here,
In little babes he took delight;
Such innocents as thou, my dear,
Are ever precious in His sight.
Sweet baby, then forbear to weep;
Be still, my babe; sweet baby, sleep.
A little infant once was He,
And, strength in weakness, then was laid
Upon His virgin-mother's knee,
That power to thee might be conveyed.
Sweet baby, then forbear to weep;
Be still, my babe; sweet baby, sleep.
In this, thy frailty and thy need,
He friends and helpers doth prepare,
Which thee shall cherish, clothe and feed;
For of thy weal they tender are.
Sweet baby, then forbear to weep;
Be still, my babe; sweet baby, sleep.
The King of kings, when he was born,
Had not so much for outward ease;
By Him such dressings were not worn,
Nor such like swaddling-clothes as these.
Sweet baby, then forbear to weep;
Be still, my babe; sweet baby, sleep.
Within a manger lodged thy Lord
Where oxen lay and asses fed;
Warm rooms we do to thee afford,
An easy cradle or a bed.
Sweet baby, then forbear to weep;
Be still, my babe; sweet baby, sleep.
The wants that He did then sustain
Have purchased wealth, my babe, for thee;
And by His torments and His pain
Thy rest and ease securèd be.
My baby, then forbear to weep;
Be still, my babe; sweet baby, sleep.
Thou hast (yet more) to perfect this,
A promise and an earnest got
Of gaining everlasting bliss,
Though thou, my babe, perceiv'st it not;
Sweet baby, then forbear to weep;
Be still, my babe; sweet baby, sleep.

Angry
What the hell gives the right to tell me what to do with my life?
Especially when you made a mess of every chance you had to success.
Look at you... just look at you.
I said Im angry just looking at you.
Im sick and tired of sitting back listening to all of your clap-trap
If you could get me to take the rap I guarantee
Youd leave me with a backslap.
Push me to the left, push me to the right try to take me out of the way
Ven if you kick me off the edge of the world,
Youre still going to hear me say...
When the hell gives you the right to tell me what to do with my life?
Especially when you made a mess of every chance you have to success.
Look at you. oh look at you.
I said Im angry just looking at you.
Shouting down again mahama. shouting down again.
Shouting down agaun mahama. shouting down again.
I cant begin to tell you all the reasons why youre making me crazy.
Ive got so many answers like youre stupid, like youre crooked, like youre lazy.
Hit me with your left, hit me with your right.
Hit me from the top to the toe.
Even when you chew me up and spit me out,
Im still going to want to know.

Black Silver
Silver is the mirror,
Where colours cannot run
From one into another
For silver it has none
Silver is a blackness
Which defies pure light to come
And when it does reflects it
Its image still as one
So that when you look upon it
Your face it will become
Not in silver, but the colours,
With which your face does run
Then with your world behind you
By light reflected one
Not in blackness, but in colours
You are colours of the sun
All mirrors do remind us
That colour is the light
And that they do not see us
In the darkness of the night
For colours are but energy
From the spectrum as it falls
On everything around us
Except, from silver balls
The colours of the rainbow
The colours in the sky
The colours of our galaxy
Are in a baby’s eye
Colours all around us
Enable us to see
That the world in which we live, is part of us,
Lifes chemistry

Dear And Sweet
Dear sweet and loving wife
You give me love and also life
You give me happiness and never strife
Without you my love how could I survive.
You have turned our house into a home
The love we have it is always shown
Together forever in life we’ve been sewn
Never will we ever be sad or alone.
When I am off to work I think about you
As I know there will always be us two
To live without your love I have not a clue
When we sleep at night my soul you soothe.
Dear sweet and loving mother
As I know like you there is no other
You keep me warmth you are my cover
You gave me life and also life to discover.
You kiss me goodnight when I go to sleep
When I am sad you help me not to weep
No steps you said for me are ever to steep
You taught me truth and not deceit.
You taught me honesty and never to lie
Honor and pride you said will be at my side
Because of you I wear a smile at night
As you gave me love and you gave me might.
Dear sweet and loving mistress
Does your husband know you are my misses
For myself you will cheat as you undress
Your children do not know that you never confess.
You come visit me when your family is asleep
You sneak out your house so not to make a peep
As my life and myself is all that you seek
I wonder does anyone know the secrets we do keep.
When your husband is at work you are thinking about me
When your children are at school you are free
Whatever I say or do you will always believe
Hopefully the truth you will never find or see.
Dear mean and hateful woman
You have done again things that you shouldn’t
Though we are all weak and only human
You have done things that any other couldn’t.
You suppose to give your family your very best
So your soul and life would of been blessed
But then you gave your feelings to all the rest
In love and life you should never start another quest.
But in the end of course you will be caught
You lied to everyone and against what you taught
Righteousness and love and truth you never sought
Your body has been sold and your soul has been bought.

Dreams in Dreams
In dreams feelings are real floating in a space of memories
Your face so so beautiful lighting my world inside closed eyes,
I cannot control the third person I feel I am
I can see myself, dreaming of dreams of you nothing else,
I touch your fingers writing in the sand, ‘I hope this love never dies’.
I rise in the air and see ourselves embrace
I am on the outside looking in,
I see sadness with tears glistening on your face,
You’re calling my name you beckon within
I am behind a wall of glass an outcast in my own dream,
I raise my fist and smash the glass into a thousand slivers,
I scream a thousand decibels... oh my love you are gone.
I fall to my knees crying how did this dream go so wrong,
I weep and weep then bang I awake from this nightmare sleep,
To you standing there with tea in your hand,
“Good morning darling for you the best fellow in all the land”
Now the end of the dream in a dream!

Star Has Lost Her Starshine
Star used to Shine for all to see
But now that's just a Memory
Of one more thing that used to be
For Star has lost Her Starshine
Another time that she went Dark
Her Soulmate gone, life's meaning stark
She watched him to the Heavens arc
He took with him Her Starshine
Never understanding why
There was no time for said good-byes
Nor one last time for his blue eyes
To ever see His Star shine
Upon the Skyline she would gaze
Her Soulful eyes were teardropped glazed
She couldn't see her yesterdays
They blinded all her Starshine
To understand the plan Divine
She searched within and tried to find
A reason not to lose her mind
As she had lost her Starshine
She really didn't want to stay
To face Life's struggles every day
The Light too dim to see the way
For her to find her Starshine
And then one day she found a Friend
Inspired the poems she'd someday Pen
His Mission was a Hand to lend
For her to find her Starshine
Her head upon the pillow lay
As Stari dreamed of Words to say
To lure the Muse who slipped away
To bring back all her Starshine
And then one day a brilliant Light
The Muse appeared within her sights
Inspired fingers told to Write
Directions to her Starshine
One evening when her day was done
She met a Blue-Eyed Blonde for fun
She never dreamed he'd be the One
To find her missing Starshine
Her Starshine to her had returned
She found another Him to yearn
More brilliant than before it Burned
Illuminating Star's Shine
She Melded unlike times before
To him who made her Spirit soar
To Places never reached before
He magnified her Starshine
Blinding to all those whose Eyes
Saw Star's light blazing in the skies
Fueled from Gazes from Blue Eyes
Mirroring the Star's shine
But Dreams we dream can never be
Unless we take the Chance to see
If they could be Reality
Or just appear in our minds
Sometimes Dreams can't last Forever
Sometimes lasting next to Never
Dreams we dream so easily severed
Dreams dreamt under The Moon's shine
A Cloud filled Sky she feels the pain
Of having lost a Love again
Tears from Eyes of green do rain
The Clouds all hide Her Starshine
She opens up and tells her Friend
Who once again his Hand does lend
To dry her Tears and her Heart mend
To help to find The Star's shine
It's only for a little while
For soon he'll make his Stari smile
And then again men she'll Beguile
As she turns on Her Starshine
Neither of them have regrets
Lovers grateful to have met
Memories shared they can't Forget
Of Blonde Hair, Blue Eyes
And Star's Shine
Sweet memories linger as they Sleep
Tucked within their Hearts to keep
Will never melt from Tears they Weep
From Eyes on Whom the Stars shone
So do not Cry or Weep for me
For someday soon Star's shine you'll see
From Memories made and those to be
They all make up
My Star Shine
