Is it love?
I seek the highest peaks of attribution
Like a rose seen in the twilight or the red moon rising
light spilling across the sky like the blood of an illusion
Here in the quiet of my worried heart
I ponder heavily on the glowing embers of my mistrust
until they blaze anew and from my doubts I cannot part
Sitting in a forest on a mountain top I gaze up
The stars glow and glitter in hopeful jest that this will not end
I know their fear of loneliness too, and the length of their days
Here we are together now-entwined
and I am febrile, basking in the light of your lovely passion
watching in wonder as I realize how I was once so blind
Now in the aftermath of our furious ablation
feeling new at the passing of my other skin into the new
I think that for once I have found a question worthy of realization
Is it love?

Burning
When I look at you
I melt like a candle
You light a fire in me
What am I to do
I just hope I can handle
The heat and the smoke blinding me
This feeling, this fire
This burning desire
Is raging its way through my soul
And if you feel the same
Help me fan the flames
til were burning out of control
Burning to know you
Burning to show you
And Ive felt this way from the start
Burning with passion
I do hope its lasting
And its burning a hole in my heart
You kindle in me
A warm glowing feeling
A spark and a flicker of hope
Its more than a game
And like moths to a flame
Were drawn to its warmth and its glow
These embers of love
Are fueled by the notion
This could be an eternal flame
Consumed by the blaze
I fear its too late
cause this torch that I hold bears your name
Oh, and Im burning to know you
Burning to hold you
Its grown to a flame from a spark
Burning with passion
I do hope its lasting
And its burning a hole in my heart
Oh, Im burning with passion
I do hope its lasting...
Ive had so many dreams fall apart...
And its burning a hole in my heart...
Im burning
Oh, Im burning
Mmmm, Im burning oh, I burning ooh

Heart Of Glass
Ooh ooh ooh whoa.
Once i had a love and it was a gas, soon turned out had a heart of glass.
Seemed like the real thing, only to find mucho mistrust.
Love's gone behind.
Once i had a love and it was divine.
Soon found out i was losing my mind.
It seemed like the real thing but i was so blind.
Mucho mistrust.
Love's gone behind.
In between "what i find is pleasing" and "i'm feeling fine", love is so confusing.
There's no peace of mind if i fear i'm losing you.
It's just no good, you teasing like you do.
Once i had a love and it was a gas, soon turned out had a heart of glass.
Seemed like the real thing, only to find mucho mistrust.
Love's gone behind.
Lost inside.
Adorable illusion and i cannot hide.
I'm the one you're using, please don't push me aside.
We coulda made it cruising, yeah.
Yeah, riding high on love's true bluish light.
Ooh ooh ooh whoa.
Once i had a love and it was a gas, soon turned out to be a pain in the ass.
Seemed like the real thing only to find mucho mistrust.
Love's gone behind.

Dying Embers
It’s the end of a fiery passion
The birth of dying embers
Our hearts know this can mean only one thing
The goodbye of dear friends
It’s the new found silence we share
The birth of dying embers
We drift apart helplessly
The inevitability of the end
It’s the many secrets and lies
The birth of dying embers
Buried and forgotten are trust and truth
The destruction of life’s vital bond
It’s the days we never touched
The birth of dying embers
Gone forever are the intense pleasures of light fingers on rose and velvet skin
The goodness of friendship forever lost
It’s the distance and space between us
The birth of dying embers
Our souls grow weak without each other, yet destiny is happily gratified
The goodbye of dear friends
The embers die out forever
Who can make them glow again?

Rubies
There are nine rubies in this Indian ring,
And every blood-red ruby is a part
Of the nine-petalled rose that is my heart,
The elaborate rose of my own fashioning.
Not out of any garden have I sought
The rose that is more brief than dawn or dew:
Stones of the flame and ice, I find in you
The image of the heart that I have wrought.
For you are cold and burn as though with fire,
For you are hard, yet veil soft depths below,
And each divided ruby seems to glow
With the brief passion of its own desire.
Rose of my heart, shall this too be the same?
For, when one light catches the wandering rays,
They rush together in one consuming blaze
Of indivisible and ecstatic flame.

The Stars And The Moon
Sitting down on a bench outside my residence,
I could see the stars far away in heaven;
It seems to me like,
The stars are spelling out my name.
Over here in Africa,
I keep on wondering about the nature of things;
The very patterns of the Creator's mind which,
Is yet to be understood by many!
At times it is very easy to see the stars up there,
But at times too there are no stars at all! !
How far are they, if i may ask?
How big are they, viewing from my compound?
This makes me wonder about the stars at night.
Oh creation, why has it taken us such a longer time?
We still don't understand many of your wonders;
Are we clever to see or, too blind to see?
I don't even understand some of your myths.
Like the mystic cloud of the air is,
My delight of the realms to write this muse;
There are days that i could see the Stars but,
The Moon takes over at times.
The very moon-light that helps us in the villages,
The very time to gather around by the fire side;
To listen to stories and folklore tales like,
The tales by the moon-light as the saying goes.
The 'Kwaku Ananse' stories and,
That of 'Mr. Tortoise' stories from our Elders.
Sitting on a bench outside in Africa,
I could see the stars spell out my name;
Lovely Stars of my heart,
My candle is yet to burn out;
At times, i do see the Moon as well.
My state of heart is for you oh Moon!
One day, i will visit you up there;
Directional moon to my soul,
How sound is your hospitality out there?
In my viewing views, i could see you up there;
In my wondering of things, there you are!
Oh, the Stars and the Moon out there;
Greetings from me to you all.

Rising So Low As If Falling From The Sky
Rising so low as if falling from the sky
the light of the silver moon is so bright
that it blots out stars, it looks as if
it is part of the high hill
gleams upon the snow capped peaks,
leaving them sparkling,
creates another kind of world
and your eyes catch me.
Sometimes there are sparkling stars
in your glance that turns my heart
crazily like a Ferris wheel
making it spin almost out of control
as if there are elemental forces
that are at you disposal
with the power of wind,
of rain, thunder and furious cyclone
or at other times the sieving tranquil rain
that brings refreshment and joy to the heart,
your eyes become the only stars shining
at me in this dark night with a own sheer light
and you really know me, know the road
that for years I have been travelling on
which always returns back to you,
even if it leads away from everything.

Broken up
One-fourth of the moon was hidden behind the shadows tonight
It was as if a blanket of comfort had left my site
I questioned whether it was me that was unworthy of its light
I wondered why or how this happened, what brought on the plight
I felt sorrow for the others who are also without the light
I stared off into the night, looking for the shadow moon, out of site
Absent
I look up to the stars and their minuscule glittering of the sky
I see their design, their presence, their heir
I feel their warmth, their friendship, their light, their glow
I recognize the bear, the hunter, the dipper, the arrow, the bow
I follow the star, north to my home ever so slow
Transfixed on the beauty of the dancing heavenly beings
Entertaining, leading, playing, bringing me home to their transcending
I return home with the feeling of no longer being alone
I look out my window and see the moon
Three-fourths glowing beyond the light in the room
One-fourth forgotten in the light, bonding with the glitter in the sky
One-fourth remembered when the shadow disappears and I see
The light as a whole, the lessons, the roles, the fun and the holds
I looked out my window and realized
Light can be found without looking
Just seeing and
Believing in the light of heavenly beings.

Like An Angel Passing Through My Room
Long awaited darkness falls
Casting shadows on the walls
In the twilight hour I am alone
Sitting near the fireplace, dying embers warm my face
In this peaceful solitude
All the outside world subdued
Everything comes back to me again
In the gloom
Like an angel passing through my room
Half awake and half in dreams
Seeing long forgotten scenes
So the present runs into the past
Now and then become entwined, playing games within my mind
Like the embers as they die
Love was one prolonged goodbye
And it all comes back to me tonight
In the gloom
Like an angel passing through my room
I close my eyes
And my twilight images go by
All too soon
Like an angel passing through my room

Moon Glow
The darkest night, flows with a
wind hush through open blackness.
Ya'ever see the moon glow?
Ya' ever hear the wind whisper?
Rivulets spill with water
across the mountain plains;
as liquid rolls down along the steep slope-
ya'ever see the moon glow?
Ya' ever hear the wind whisper?
Stars glitter through sparkles
of the darkest night.
Wind cold breeze swifts;
swiftly into space.
Laughter engulfs the moon light.
Ya' ever see the moon glow?
Ya' ever hear the wind whisper?
Moon light angles corners,
as sweet melodies swell into air,
of silence.
You ever sight the bird dance,
as shadow flicker
upon the moon?
Ya' ever see the moon glow?
Ya' ever hear the wind whisper?

Leave your world [Lasă-ţi lumea]
Leave behind your world of sorrow
Give yourself to me and glow,
If you were my love tomorrow
No one in the world would know.
Come with me, let's wander purely,
Feeling happy, feeling good,
Where at night awakens surely
The voice of the ancient wood.
Through the branches, stars are twinkling
And the narrow path is clear,
Even if our hearts were tinkling
No one in the world could hear.
And I see your hair is flying
And I'm feeling young and free,
If I hug you, don't start crying
No one in the world will see.
Hush! The horn is sounding clearly
We are listening on our knees,
While the moon is rising freely
From behind the tall beech trees.
The green forest is responding
The leaves tremble with much grace
And my spirit, soft, desponding,
Yearns after your pretty face.
You pretend to loath my passion
Now you want me, now you're shy,
Yet your eyes glow with compassion
My cute angel from the sky.
Watch the lake! The moon, delighted,
Glides above his wilderness,
By her light he is ignited
And he feels his loneliness.
The small ripples, gently rolling,
On his surface seem to creep,
But he hears the world's loud calling
And he cannot fall asleep.
He is filled with inspiration
Mirroring your lovely face,
You don't need his confirmation
That you're nice and full of grace.
The blue sky, always in action,
Covers all the hills and caves,
Showing us with satisfaction
Stars in heavens, stars in waves.
Lime-tree scent is very pleasant
The wind gently shakes a bough,
Only you and I are present
And we are so happy now!
The full moon in mist is shrouded
Yet she's shining from above
Seeing you, wholly surrounded
By my arms, sweet fair-haired love.

ASTRONOMY OF THE HEART [Sonnet LXIX]
I've watched the heart of sunsets red,
decend on waters in dripping mauve,
reflecting the bleeding sky of day,
'closure..... to twilight's curtain call,
'tween mountain peaks in silhouette,
'fore passing off its dying torch,
to nascent, charcoaled skies of night,
its speckled scape of anthrocite,
and million stars of silver-white,
breaking space with beaconed light,
washing the hazy face,
of 'the man in the moon';
and night becomes a celestial capture
of Love...no heart be jejune.

I Come to Dwell In This Loneliness
I come to dwell in this loneliness.
It is my turn to do it as I wish!
I am not that far away from moonbeams,
And stars.
But right now I'd rather ponder my heart...
Where it is,
And who has a part!
I come to dwell in this loneliness.
Thinking of those I love...
And how much they are missed!
In a way I can only say,
As a poet can convey.
I come to dwell in this loneliness.
But torment and grief...
Is not what I am here treating!
I am remembering them,
With love that wont end!
I come to dwell in this loneliness.
It is my turn to do it as I wish!
And when I am finished,
I feel a burden lift!
Without agony relived...
Since I am aware,
Love is still there.
And for me I realize,
True love was shared!
I come to dwell in this loneliness.
And it's okay...
It does not stay.
Like the love that was known,
And remembered shown that way!
I come to dwell in this loneliness.
And when this period permits...
It will leave me lifted,
When it is done with its visit!
I come to dwell in this loneliness.
But not to hide...
Or become absorbed with it!
It is my turn to do it as I wish!
And when it departs,
It leaves a happiness in my heart!

The Moon and The Old Willow Tree
Sitting under the silver light of the Moon
Leaning on the Old Willow tree
Watching as the world passes by
Reflecting on our lives
Watching the stars as they remind us of our hopes and dreams
Our triumphs and our loses
Wishing we could go back
To the days when
All
Was simpler
When our lives
Were filled with innocent
Bliss
But we cannot change the past
All that matters now
Is living
In this moment
Sitting under the sliver light of the Moon
Leaning on the Old Willow tree

The Moon of House
The beauty of nature is magical
Medicine for human sadness
I was foetus in a womb
I was dead body in a tomb
When I laid on bed in extreme silence
At dusk in a dark dark house
Gazing the darkness above me
My mind, spirit, Soul and heart
Were in sad stress and divine distress
Absolute quitness warms the house
It so soundless so motionless
But heavily and harsh, the weight of world
Was as if exerting on me.
At lighting speed
I saw a rare flash of light since
I saw a light of the day
I got up, I tiptoed to it
I grasped it, I examined it with nake fingers
Wow, I found it was glowing worm
One of beautiful beauties of nature
I wonder I ponder about this
Lovely tiny moon of the house
Which change colour to colour
It glimmered greenish to yellowish
It glimmered gold to diamond
It glimmered reddish to brightish
The wonderful beam of beautiful colours
The attractive glowing worm
Expanded and contracted in
As it expanded and contracted
My heart expanded and contracted
To it rhythm in sweet pleasure
Of this moon of house
My distress and stress
Faded away in golden rays of worm
O glowing worm!
What a comedy from heaven

The Night Visitor
Three times the knock it came to me
and opening up the door
I saw no person standing there
for help or succour plea.
I sat back down to lift the book
and Donne his Epicedes,
beside the embers I had sat,
three times again the sound.
My heart it stilled,
my heart it froze,
for no wind blew the cottage sky,
alone but lit by moon.
The sound again did slowly make,
was someone dead or going home?
for I with book and embers stood
afraid and now alone.
I stood and to the knock at once,
a soul upon my door,
for only wood could make that sound,
that I could hear again.
I slowly lifted up the latch,
and fearly opened up,
the door it let the ember glow
outside into the path.
I looked to see into the dark,
and there an Angel girl,
of long black hair,
and handsome form
did stand and beckon on.
Out into forest I was brought,
with hand and heart entwined.
We danced by pines,
and kissed by stars,
a garland she did make.
And oh! what night of reveries,
and oh! what night of care,
my youth returned again to make,
our love upon the carpet moss
alone lit by the moon.
And when awoke, I saw was gone,
the angel girl and joy,
I thought that I had dreamed
the scene beneath the single star.
But standing up I made my way
the cottage open door,
the fireside chair alone it kept
the poems for resting there.
And in the morning by the sun,
a light on pathway shone.
A garland made of pines and cones
lay there upon the step.
Let us not laugh at reveries
of love the heart can make,
the angel girl, she beckons
on to mossy carpet heart,
as lit by forest moon.

The Country Of Marriage
I.
I dream of you walking at night along the streams
of the country of my birth, warm blooms and the nightsongs
of birds opening around you as you walk.
You are holding in your body the dark seed of my sleep.
II.
This comes after silence. Was it something I said
that bound me to you, some mere promise
or, worse, the fear of loneliness and death?
A man lost in the woods in the dark, I stood
still and said nothing. And then there rose in me,
like the earth's empowering brew rising
in root and branch, the words of a dream of you
I did not know I had dreamed. I was a wanderer
who feels the solace of his native land
under his feet again and moving in his blood.
I went on, blind and faithful. Where I stepped
my track was there to steady me. It was no abyss
that lay before me, but only the level ground.
III.
Sometimes our life reminds me
of a forest in which there is a graceful clearing
and in that opening a house,
an orchard and garden,
comfortable shades, and flowers
red and yellow in the sun, a pattern
made in the light for the light to return to.
The forest is mostly dark, its ways
to be made anew day after day, the dark
richer than the light and more blessed,
provided we stay brave
enough to keep on going in.
IV.
How many times have I come to you out of my head
with joy, if ever a man was,
for to approach you I have given up the light
and all directions. I come to you
lost, wholly trusting as a man who goes
into the forest unarmed. It is as though I descend
slowly earthward out of the air. I rest in peace
in you, when I arrive at last.
V.
Our bond is no little economy based on the exchange
of my love and work for yours, so much for so much
of an expendable fund. We don't know what its limits are--
that puts us in the dark. We are more together
than we know, how else could we keep on discovering
we are more together than we thought?
You are the known way leading always to the unknown,
and you are the known place to which the unknown is always
leading me back. More blessed in you than I know,
I possess nothing worthy to give you, nothing
not belittled by my saying that I possess it.
Even an hour of love is a moral predicament, a blessing
a man may be hard up to be worthy of. He can only
accept it, as a plant accepts from all the bounty of the light
enough to live, and then accepts the dark,
passing unencumbered back to the earth, as I
have fallen tine and again from the great strength
of my desire, helpless, into your arms.
VI.
What I am learning to give you is my death
to set you free of me, and me from myself
into the dark and the new light. Like the water
of a deep stream, love is always too much. We
did not make it. Though we drink till we burst
we cannot have it all, or want it all.
In its abundance it survives our thirst.
In the evening we come down to the shore
to drink our fill, and sleep, while it
flows through the regions of the dark.
It does not hold us, except we keep returning
to its rich waters thirsty. We enter,
willing to die, into the commonwealth of its joy.
VII.
I give you what is unbounded, passing from dark to dark,
containing darkness: a night of rain, an early morning.
I give you the life I have let live for the love of you:
a clump of orange-blooming weeds beside the road,
the young orchard waiting in the snow, our own life
that we have planted in the ground, as I
have planted mine in you. I give you my love for all
beautiful and honest women that you gather to yourself
again and again, and satisfy--and this poem,
no more mine than any man's who has loved a woman.

The Guardian and BloodRose
BloodRose,
Rose of my love,
My love for Dark moon,
Dark as my heart,
Black as my soul,
And gave me my rose.
The rose of blood,
With petals soft and black,
Never as a rose so beautiful,
Grown not in light,
But under a dark moon lit sky.
Guardian,
Yes a guardian of BloodRose,
With teeth long and sharp,
Claws hard as diamonds,
Scales as dark as night.
My dear sweet guardian,
Guardian black as my heart,
Fire in your eyes,
Shadows in your soul,
A dragon of the dark moon.
A single rose,
With petals so fare,
As dark as my heart,
I now hold in my hand,
The rose of blood.
You are my darkness,
Fear of this love,
This love for you,
Love for darkness,
The cold shadows in my heart
That makes me yearn for you.
Now as you lay dying,
I hold a single rose,
The rose you gave me,
And as I hold it tight,
The thorns slice my hand,
Covered with blood,
My blood.
I have one fear,
The fear of death,
Symbol of my lost love,
Rose as dark as me,
Laying in a pool of blood,
Blood from me.
As I lay dying,
I remember my name,
BloodRose,
I am the rose of blood,
And I died of my own creation.
A creation of perfect beauty,
Petals dark black,
Thorns like small daggers,
Grown from my love,
My love for a dragon,
A dragon as dark as my heart.
Even in my death,
I think of you,
And the rose you gave me,
The rose that killed me,
The Rose of Blood.

Love, See the Moon
Here over the roof I sit
A breeze so cool showers me
Here over the roof I sit
My love, come see
The crescent so clear that I see ‘Madonna'
My love, come see
Cotton feathery clouds remain
The moon winks as light clouds pass by
Cotton feathery clouds remain
Love, come up the stars glitter
‘Madonna' holds her child in supplication
Love, come the stars glitter
Here take my hand
Ladder is safe in my arm, a post, you subtle maid
Here take my hand
Love see the moon
In your shoulder, moon's silver gaze, a soul that blesses
Love see the moon.
