The Ultimate Wisdom
Philosophers
must ultimately find
their true perfection
in knowing all
the follies of mankind
-by introspection.

Those masks of Comedy and Tragedy

go back to those two Greek philosophers,
the one, who wept at the follies of mankind,
the other, who laughed at those same follies…
In order to justify the invasion of Iraq

i.e. that Iraq had ‘wep-ma-struc’ in Bush-speak,
the federal government has made public

These include instructions on how

The most common of all follies is to believe passionately in the palpably not true. It is the chief occupation of mankind.

Now Ive Seen It All
Ive watched an acorn turn into an oak tree
And Ive felt the passion of a whippoorwills call
And Ive seen a flower bloom in the desert
But a woman so true loving me like you do
Now Ive seen it all
Ive seen the faces they chiseled in mountains
Marveled in wonder at stars when they fall
And Ive watched the sunset slip into the ocean
But a woman so true loving me like you do
Now Ive seen it all
I feel so unworthy of all that you give me
I could die happy just knowing I am your man
Im so undeserving,i just stand here in awe
That a woman so true loves me like you do
Now Ive seen it all
I feel so unworthy of all that you give me
I could die happy just knowing I am your man
cause you find perfection where others see flaws
And a woman so true loving me like you do
Now I seen it all

As I Enjoy the Joy of Knowing You
AS I ENJOY THE JOY OF KNOWING YOU
Nestor endured two hundred years despair
Awaiting joy, anticipating you.
Tristan Isolde took within his care
As compensation for not knowing you.
Sweet Capulet with Montagu did share,
Hero Lysander loved, - both ill did fare,
As neither knew the joy of knowing you.
Nature rests its case, perfection fair,
As now I know the joy of knowing you.
To be! - a miracle beyond compare,
As I enjoy the the joy of knowing you.
Soul sends to soul, serenity to share
Here on this earth as shed is every care,
All through true joy of knowing you for YOU!

Perfection
Your cold and poor-spirited love
Was like running water upon my hands...
I did for your love, all that I could....
As an imperfect man that I am...
I offered you just possible things...
Warmth when you were cold,
And consolation when you felt hopeless...
You search for perfection
Which you will never find...
Perfect is the rain that falls
In the spring time...
Perfect are the flowers that grow
in a real garden of love....
Perfect is the smile in a child
Who plays with toys...
Perfection is a man
Who had it all
And now is getting tired and old...
Perfection are the memories
In your heart and mind...
Perfection is something
You shall never find
On me or any other man
Since perfection is just
In your dreams and imagination...
Now perfection becomes
Just like a story untold....
How sad it is
That my love you can no longer have
Neither my hands again hold...
o! Woman, wish you good luck
In your new try...

The great philosophers and the great works are standards for the selection of what is essential. Everything that we do in studying the history of philosophy ultimately serves their better understanding.

Though "none by searching can find out God, or the Almighty to perfection," yet I am persuaded, that if mankind would dare to exercise their reason as freely on those divine topics as they do in the common concerns of life, they would, in a great measure, rid themselves of their blindness and superstition, gain more exalted ideas of God and their obligations to him and one another, and be proportionally delighted and blessed with the views of his moral government, make better members of society, and acquire, manly powerful incentives to the practice of morality, which is the last and greatest perfection that human nature is capable of.

Reason To Believe
If I listen long enough to you
Id find the way to believe that its all true
Knowing that you lied straight face
While I cried
(*) and still I look
To find a reason to believe
Someone like you makes it hard to live
Without somebody else
Someone like you make it easy to give
Never thinking of myself
If you took the time to change my mind
I could find a way
To leave the past behind
Knowing that you lied straight face
While I cried
Repeat (*)
If I listen long enough to you
Id find the way to believe that its all true
Knowing that you lied straight face
While I cried
Repeat (*)

Unqualified or Aware
You seek from me,
What I seek from you!
Leaving our needs to be left weak,
From the seeking.
If you and I just be without that seeking...
We would find our search complete.
And satisfy that daily heat!
We wish to see first...
And not feel the thirst of it!
Knowing it is there.
If we only cared enough to trust.
Instead of believing...
Someone else can compare,
And share.
Although...
We find them ultimately,
Unqualified or aware...
Inside of us,
We have such lust!

To the spirits of Abn 'Arabi, poet, and Averroes, philosopher
The philosopher asked the poet,
Does what the poets and the mystics
find in their hearts, agree
with what the philosophers have discovered
or reasoned to be true?
The poet answered
Yes, and No
and between the two
is a place, a space, where
the mouth is silent,
the pen hovers poised above the paper,
the eyes sparkle,
the heart leaps and rejoices,
and the mind soars on journeys
beyond anything that was known before
and lives experiences never before experienced;
finds words behind words
that were never spoken before,
sounds behind sounds
never heard before,
a knowledge beyond love,
a love beyond knowledge..
a place where poets and philosophers
meet together in a world of wonder.

0365 Poets and One World
The poet's world and the philosopher's
may seem to be in aim, and truth of act,
so different; the poet offers us
fine dreams of heart; philosophy, fine fact;
and yet, both spring from knowing nothing's known,
and wishing knowledge for its own true sake:
the poet seeks a truth in worlds his own;
philosophers seek paths which causes take;
yet both, in knowing their own ignorance,
are moved by wonder at the world they share -
the beauteous laws of this world's governance;
the universal heart and mind seen there:
poetic truth and love of wisdom spring
from wonder at the one in everything.
