Abreast
He who aims
to keep abreast
is for ever
second best.

In Sark
Abreast and ahead of the sea is a crag's front cloven asunder
With strong sea-breach and with wasting of winds whence terror is
shed
As a shadow of death from the wings of the darkness on waters that
thunder
Abreast and ahead.
At its edge is a sepulchre hollowed and hewn for a lone man's bed,
Propped open with rock and agape on the sky and the sea thereunder,
But roofed and walled in well from the wrath of them slept its dead.
Here might not a man drink rapture of rest, or delight above wonder,
Beholding, a soul disembodied, the days and the nights that fled,
With splendour and sound of the tempest around and above him and
under,
Abreast and ahead?

Cupids Arrow
A white bellowing cloud
Floats on high as cupid aims at passer by
He aims at the man and women
Who have only know each other as friends
His aim so true…he watches anew
As from friendship to lovers they grew
This is indeed a delightful sight
When wedding bells start to chime
As the two lovers now
Become man and wife
Cupid just grins and aims once again
at the unsuspecting people whom pass by

Laps of innocence
I swam through the snow
I swam the laps of innocence
The laps of an angel by my side
The sound of laughter by my side
The happiness swimming abreast of me
I rolled down the hills of light
I rolled unrolling the scrolls of innocence
The scrolls of all the white by my side
The hues of a multitude of smiles by my side
Joy cries joy screams abreast of me
It was so easy so easy to swim
So easy to swim the laps of innocence
The laps of an angel by my side
The sound of laughter by my side
The happiness swimming abreast of me
So easy to roll down the hills of light
To roll unrolling the scrolls of innocence
The scrolls of the white by my side
The hues of a multitude of smiles by my side
Joy cries joy screams abreast of me
The flickering whiteprints of a snowflake heart
The twinkling joy of my fast beating heart
The sparkling breath of my wind spinned heart
The shimmering light of my angel fed heart
The beat the beat of the snow spelled heart
So beautifully taken breath blown away

Hard Goals
Goals shake to progress and concisely
Play the reality of sport and soccer;
Yes, the goal of our life is the aim,
And the aim hates us when hard.
Hardness strengthens, lifting weights
To guide the sportsman, and all his muscle
Into lifting more weights and really working.
These aims of mine work longer
Than usual, to state us is exact.
These aims jog the memory to be exact
Afterwards and before.

There is no greater fallacy than the belief that aims and purposes are one thing, while methods and tactics are another. This conception is a potent menace to social regeneration. All human experience teaches that methods and means cannot be separated from the ultimate aim. The means employed become, through individual habit and social practice, part and parcel of the final purpose; they influence it, modify it, and presently the aims and means become identical.

Freedom To Or Freedom From?
Power aims
at Freedom To;
finds itself
on a collision course
with all the other Freedoms To
that inhabit gods and men and beast;
storm and drought and pestilence;
sickness, old age and death.
Wisdom aims
for Freedom From
discovers that all the competing Freedom To's
struggle within the stadium of life
and win and lose and win and lose
and lose at last at the gates
of old age and death.
Discovers that he who enters not
the arena of the breath
suffers no loss and dies no death.

The Rosetta Stone
The Rosetta Stone,
The mother tongue,
Logue, longue, league;
Ghetto queen!
Colleague, tongue, rogue, brogue;
But, i am inspired by your works.
Floor, flour, four, fair, far!
Like a letter from my beloved one;
Farm, form, from, film, firm!
Whiff,
Whey,
Fill, full, foil, fell, fail, free!
Wheeze,
Whelp,
Fee, face, fence, fight, flight, freedom!
Ghetto king!
Argue, morgue, rogue, drogue;
Wheezy,
Way, whey!
Under the tree of freedom;
Whet, wet!
Through the sea,
Seraph,
And like your lovely words to revive my soul.
Serge,
Bride, bridge!
Ambit,
She just went down that quick!
Ambiguity,
Like Louis River;
Art and culture!
With seminars and exhibitions.
Terror teenager!
Aims and objectives;
To develop,
To attack! !
Of a focus,
With an association;
Breast, abreast!
Between the waters,
But, from one woman and one man came many!
Curds, cords!
There is no feelings of it;
So, you can just forget it! !
Chords, cords, curds, surds, lords, bods, fords;
And, like the windows of the forest.

Some people are born with a vital and responsive energy. It not only enables them to keep abreast of the times; it qualifies them to furnish in their own personality a good bit of the motive power to the mad pace.

A Little Left Of Center
(steve dale jones/billy henderson)
I walk in the rain and whistle a tune
I talk to the man up there in the moon
I know I may sound like somebody gone insane
Im a fool about you baby but my heart cant explain
Its a little left of center
By heavenly design
Love gets carried away
And goes wild at times
When cupid aims his arrow
Its right on the mark
A little left of center
Just like my crazy heart
It leaps like a frog when you touch my hand
It means like a drum in a marching band
Cant help what it does I just follow where it leads
How my heart feels about you baby makes perfect sense to me
Its a little left of center
By heavenly design
Love gets carried away
And goes wild at times
When cupid aims his arrow
Its right on the mark
A little left of center
Just like my crazy heart
When cupid aims his arrow
Its right on the mark
A little left of center
Just like my crazy heart

A Busy Life
THE busy days are here
crowding themselves
packed like sardines
but there is still joy somehow
in this fast paced
life,
reading between the lines
amidst this crowd,
the poems keep on whistling
they have a beautiful world
within and
i keep on listening
still abreast
as alive as
a fledgling about
to fly
away

We started at once to dig our trenches, half of my platoon stepping forward abreast, the men being placed an arm's length apart. After laying their rifles down, barrels pointing to the enemy, a line was drawn behind the row of rifles and parallel to it.

Free Verse
I admire all the aims of Free Verse,
‘tis explicit in all that I do
in shaping the stress to converse
with a rhyme-scheme restricted to two.
That I stay with this number is true, -
a linguistic abuse, maybe worse,
how it weighs and encumbers the view! -
but French art needs its aid, though perverse.
Else the Muse would be dumb to a curse,
for to accent, the lingo’s deaf too, -
though what can one do? All’s averse
to fantasy rhyme calls on cue!
May Free Verse’s aims bring joy unto
the young sparks who chance meanings coerce -
whose mental gymnastics’ fun value
is the fire to inspire hopes they’d nurse.
They’re young colts who green pastures traverse
with gravity worthy their virtue,
though mad they’re superb, and no hearse
they’d inherit! Free Verse tempts! You too?
