Sockets.
Everything comes down
To sockets.
Your either getting into
Or withdrawing.
Painfully, recklessly or carefully.
Power, sex, money
Amid connections.
Whatever you do
However hard you strive
For your nirvana.
Sockets, sockets!
It all begins and ends
On joining together
In passionate, fresh loving innocence.
Only to end
Often years later.
In affairs of renewing vigour,
In search of
Fresher socketry..

What To Do, Do Quickly...
on the lean years of our affections
the dreams have drawn for us
on that piece of sleep
this canvass of the night frame
twelve emaciated cows grazing on
the desert
what shall we do? if you still have your eyes with
you
kept in those sunken sockets
open them
slowly
the sage of Femagas has given you the most practical
prognosis
you are asleep and all you need to do is wake up
you still have 24 hours
of regret.

Envy And The Discontented Heart
these faulty eyes
see what we are not
comparing the colors
of the invisible wind
testing the depths of the
waters
always complaining
about the scent of the air
the slowness of the rivers
the dirt in the creek
i should have let them all
pluck the eyeballs from
their sockets.

Oedipus
how he married his own mother
and killed his own father
was what he avoided
but the same happened
it is as though
they all come to him
without notice and his eyes
did not have the power to see
so he plucked them out
from its sockets
and roamed the earth
blindly
yes, destiny
happens and happens
without our
approval
it is like a door
closing itself
when darkness
comes
and opens itself
again
when light arrives
and sometimes
we do not understand
we do not like
the way things
happen
and destiny grins
right in front
of our eyes
wide open
as though telling us
'you see? '

Your Feet
When I cannot look at your face
I look at your feet.
Your feet of arched bone,
your hard little feet.
I know that they support you,
and that your sweet weight
rises upon them.
Your waist and your breasts,
the doubled purple
of your nipples,
the sockets of your eyes
that have just flown away,
your wide fruit mouth,
your red tresses,
my little tower.
But I love your feet
only because they walked
upon the earth and upon
the wind and upon the waters,
until they found me.

The Fairies Break Their Dances
The fairies break their dances
And leave the printed lawn,
And up from India glances
The silver sail of dawn.
The candles burn their sockets,
The blinds let through the day,
The young man feels his pockets
And wonders what's to pay.

Humanity's Been Hoodwinked
The world is a dangerous place
for anyone right now.
Just take a look around you,
you'll wrinkle up your brow.
All of these occurances
one after another
makes it hard to be
a father or a mother.
You look into the eyes
that put their trust in you.
You think about their future
and don't know what to do.
What can you tell them?
What can you say?
That the world's gone crazy
but it will be okay?
We're on a runaway train
that's on the wrong track.
And it keeps on going.
There's no turning back.
The monsters in suits
wearing red ties
have dollars in their sockets
instead of just eyes.
I wish there was an answer
but I think we've gone too far.
Humanity's been hoodwinked.
All that's left is one big scar.

dear God.....
when i carry these pains
do not ask me if i can endure them
i am human
and i may soon give up
you know what i mean
you may test me and deprive me of everything that i once have
and those most important bits that i do treasure
you may take what little is left
in my pocket
or in my sockets
but please, i beg of you,
do not take away from me this bed where i can sleep
this floor where i can lay my body upon
this wall where i can lay my head and rest
for in here
where and when everything is lost
i can still cope up and sleep and
dream

Do Not Look Back I Said
do not be afraid when he comes
you do not owe him
there are no questions
you do not take anything
there is nothing to carry
except yourself
it will be quick and so light
like a hush
do not say anything
just go
it is that easy
just go
leave everything
and do not look back
for you may find the images
buried in the sands of the
past
a picture of your youth
the sad face
the frail arms
the vehemence within
the hungry sockets
dried long deprived of the
tarry tears

The Marriage Party
THE MARRIAGE PARTY
The marriage party was over
The bride gone
One lanky thinned out shadow
Totteringly noticeable
Against the wall
Tears oozing out
Of sockets
Balls played up
The heart running down

Simple Things
simple things are the simple thoughts to a
simple man
like me
simple things like a coin where there is no face of me
or you
but it can buy me something to shame me of my
poverty and helplessness
a simple yawn
i haven't really slept
to the minimum that my eyes need
and look at these eyes
they are sinking to my sockets
a simple
word is all i need and i will always repeat it
'love'
'me'
this is the simple man, let there be no complications
about
spelling
or ethics
i am a simple man and morality is too hard for me to understand
all i ask is that you must
love me.

Oh! Man Mend The Ways Old
I once in a dream flew into the world of future,
On the wings of fear, with the heart of agony,
And landed into a burnt zone,
Remotely resembled the world of man,
All wrapped in grimness of smoke.
I beheld men and women:
The remains of nations in rags,
All grubby with harrowed faces,
Impressionless eyes they had in the sockets.
They were at war against one another,
Not for high objectives nor to subjugate the Earth,
But for water, food and zones of fresh air.
They all carried the charred clubs,
Or the sable stones in their hands,
When they were at rest they shivered with cold,
Oh! Man mend the ways old.

Nothing 'bout Me
In my head,
on a surgeons table
take my fingerprints if you are able
pick my brains
pick my pockets
steal my eyebrows and come back for the sockets
run any kind of test from a to z
but you still know nothin bout me
Run my name through your computer
mention me in passing to your college tutor
check my records check my facts
check if ive paid my income tax
pull over everything in my cv
but you still know nothin bout me
still know nothin bout me
Only to me, the looks of my history
im a simple man
theres no big mystery
cold weather
ten years ago
just like this
a lonely man like me
gets a cold
Search my house with a fine tooth comb
turn over everything becasue i wont be at home
take out your microscope and tell me what you see
but you still know nothin bout me
still know nothin bout me
still know zip about me
still know nothin bout me
bout me
bout me
(stil know nothin, stil know nothin

Epilouge
Lay my head on the surgeon's table
Take me fingerprints if you are able
Pick my brains, pick my pockets
Steal my eyeballs and come back for the sockets
Run every kind of test from A to Z
And you'll still know nothing 'bout me
Run my name through your computer
Mention me in passing to your college tutor
Check my records, check my facts
Check if I paid my income tax
Pore over everything in my C.V.
But you'll still know nothing 'bout me
You'll still know nothing 'bout me
You don't need to read no books on my history
I'm a simple man, it's no big mystery
In the cold weather, a hand needs a glove
At times like this, a lonely man like me needs love
Search my house with a fine tooth comb
Turn over everything 'cause I won't be at home
Set up your microscope and tell me what you see
You'll still know nothing 'bout me

A Denizen Of An Ill-fated Planet (A War Poem)
From the womb of life,
Smoke is squirting up,
The tempest of war
Is about to extinguish
The flame of life.
I am a denizen of the same ill-fated planet!
Our back again inclines to bend;
And the slithering era,
Again bends upon to dominate us all.
Dread
Hatred
And violence have snatched from us
All compassion: an essence of humanity;
And we have thrown
Dreams of generations
Into the furnace of war.
Now our faces bear only sockets,
Void of eyes.
Ah! We are heading towards a forest!
In search of beautiful dawn,
That will never see the sunrise time,
Death will invade us instantly;
And that day,
After every second,
Will be the World War Third.

The Likeness.....
THE MIRROR
limits what we are
there is no shadow
behind us
only the face and the likeness
of it
flat and staring
and clear.
THERE IS
another face at the back of our mind
opaque
silent
and deep
seated sockets
and wavy eyelashes
and well kept hair
and smooth skin
and glowing
WE HAVE NOT
seen much of it
But we shall always feel it
yes,
at the back of our minds
wanting
to find us.

That Room
... it was simply wider
for me
i was like a pebble
falling to the
ocean floor of
the Surigao
trench
...it made me lonelier
it made me think of you
that room was a night
of long sleeplessness
the following morning
my eye sockets deepen
like a black hole of
my self
made universe
i am still looking for myself
and i am
afraid
i have not found it still
someone is talking
and writing and i do not recognize
it
it is strange and it seems to be
the truest of my
lie.

A Blind Beggar
Eye sockets mere bruises
Alike to closed fists
Save whole being tangled
In his last rags
All else dissolved-
A vase dripping away
Holding time's finger
Rattling his soul
As a broken alms bowl,
Unable to knock open
A deaf world's door
To go out of this life-
Conscious how immense
Is oneself without walls.

His Head
They’ll carry his head
His head will shine
On ravaging horses
Like a centaur of myths
He made us encase himself
Sculptors manage this
In flowering and planting
His head will shine
His skull is flowering with laughter
The eye-sockets weirdly stare

Ego - Trip
Locked inside
where only I can be
lonely cries echo,
deafening me.
I peer through sockets
through skull
and soft flesh,
blood coursing
nerves enmesh
electric thoughts rocketing
through bone-strapped brain,
lightning revealing
God's face once again.
With muttering thunder,
the sad world declines
back into empty
personal night.
