Gossip (Stream XVIII)
She squirreled away her gossip
Like round brown nuts
To be savoured later
To be pulled over
And inspected
With those aged friends
With nothing better to do
And too much time on wrinkled hands,
Clawed and arthritic.
Hands that have seen hard work,
Hard times.
That held children
Or caressed husbands long gone.
Heads bent close
Their hair monuments to the coiffure's art
Shades of pink and purple
Colour rinsed.
Rinsed out.
Heads nodding
They savour each tidbit
Pink tongues savouring its essence
Their hungry round mouths.
Gobble each morsel.
Pick over its bones
For this is all they have.

Pink
A blush of pink:
She'd caught a roving eye -
He gave a wink.
Her smile had played a shy
And quaint florescence;
The siren of pubescence
Drew him in.
She bade him touch her hair,
Suggesting that he dare
To kiss her pulsing lips!
E'er the fool a man, he did:
The drips of blood began to cheer -
And so, another rid:
Tips of fangs are sharp, you know -
Dancing ivory feeds her soul -
See her claim a howl upon a chilling wind!
Slain, he lay across a crimson floor:
She grinned in her repletion.
A blush of pink;
Beneath a glowering sky
Her savoured drink
Was done.

Pink is my colour
Pink pants and rosy plants
Pink blouses, never failing to arouse spouses
Pink hot feverish lips
Passionate pants of pink
Love letters dipped in pink ink
You see! You see!
Pink is my colour
Pink is the sweet side of wild
Quite mild
Like a little lost baby child
Of all the colours compiled
Pink is romantic and disarming
All pink roses are ever so charming
Pink is my colour
The fruit juices I drink
Are always colour pink
With favourable odours
Igniting my fire making me desire more and more
Think! Think! Pink always links
With erotic pleasant stinks
Those flirty winks
Combining with pink
Creating an effect of kink, kink, kinky!
Pink is my colour
Refined or raw
Pink is my colour
And the colour of my door
Pink is my colour
And the only colour I adore

My mother's hands
My mother had thick, wide, hands,
callused from years of hard work.
I used to like to hold them,
feel their strength and warmth
Those were the hands that cared,
caressed and held her me close.
Those were the hands that scrubbed
and washed, cooked for us and nursed.
My mother had beautiful hands
and would paint her nails light pink.
They were warm, artistic hands
that could crochet well and knit.
Those were the hands that created,
made beautiful shawls and clothes.
Those were the hands that altered dresses
I wore ‘til they were old.
My mother had beautiful hands
that cooked and cleaned and scrubbed,
and within the things that those hands did
were bundles and bundles of love.

Rejoice
(jon anderson)
Rejoice forward out this feeling
Ten true summers long
We go round and round and round and round
Until we pick it up again
Time flies, on and on it goes
Thru the setting sun
Carry round and round and round and round
Until it comes to carry you home
Rejoice forward out this feeling
The white eagle soars
He goes round and round and round
Until the early winds of change
Dawns new light conquering timeless ease
Spread the harvest breeze
Let our hour of passion
Gently hold our heads on high with you
Gently hold our heads on high

Questions Unanswered
Ah those days of starched shirts
Of water boiling in the copper,
And soap-flakes snow-white
And the mangle in the corner
Like a medieval implement of torture
Waiting to grind and squeeze.
And granny's hair wrapped in cloth
The goodly housewife at work
Hands red, hot water immersed,
Sweated in the washing room.
Each Mondays Herculean task
The stringing on lines for all to see
Of pure white sheets rinsed in Dolly Blue.
To wash the families dirty linen clean.
But never speak of the true dirty secrets
That scrubbing could not undo,
That gallons of bleach could not erase
Nor boiling water wipe out.
The lies told to protect
Which ended up hurting.
The scars though healed still itch.
The front of respectability kept up
But its upkeep too heavier price too heavy
Leaving me with unanswered questions.

People Make The World Go Round
People...
(round and round and around...)
People make the world go round
(round and round and around...)
Teachers on strike, no more school today
They want more money but the board wont pay
People
Everybodys talkin bout ecology
The airs so polluted that its hard to breathe
People
Rrefrain
But thats what makes the world go round
The ups and downs a carousel
Changing peoples heads around
Go underground young men...
People make the world go round...
Old folks judge you by the clothes you wear
Theyd swear youre a hippy if you have long hair
Young politicians fight for poverty
While people still cry for equality
Refrain
But thats what makes the world go round
The ups and downs a carousel
Changing peoples heads around
Go underground young men...
People make the world go round...
(instrumental)
Refrain
But thats what makes the world go round
The ups and downs a carousel
Changing peoples heads around
Go underground young men...
People make the world go round...

Monuments
Crystal the desert
Sands sifted in dry air
Sun flecked sparkling.
Wind plays out,
Whistling, weathering rock
Sculpting.
Sand blasts in desert storms.
Fine glass moulds, shapes,
Caresses, smooths.
Forged in the heat of the desert days
Cold of its night.
Making monuments to natures art.
Towers of pink and yellow
Watch over rock strewn plains
Waterless river beds
In silent serenity.

The Jumblies
They went to sea in a Sieve, they did,
In a Sieve they went to sea:
In spite of all their friends could say,
On a winter's morn, on a stormy day,
In a Sieve they went to sea!
And when the Sieve turned round and round,
And every one cried, `You'll all be drowned!'
They called aloud, `Our Sieve ain't big,
But we don't care a button! we don't care a fig!
In a Sieve we'll go to sea!'
Far and few, far and few,
Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue,
And they went to sea in a Sieve.
They sailed away in a Sieve, they did,
In a Sieve they sailed so fast,
With only a beautiful pea-green veil
Tied with a riband by way of a sail,
To a small tobacco-pipe mast;
And every one said, who saw them go,
`O won't they be soon upset, you know!
For the sky is dark, and the voyage is long,
And happen what may, it's extremely wrong
In a Sieve to sail so fast!'
Far and few, far and few,
Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue,
And they went to sea in a Sieve.
The water it soon came in, it did,
The water it soon came in;
So to keep them dry, they wrapped their feet
In a pinky paper all folded neat,
And they fastened it down with a pin.
And they passed the night in a crockery-jar,
And each of them said, `How wise we are!
Though the sky be dark, and the voyage be long,
Yet we never can think we were rash or wrong,
While round in our Sieve we spin!'
Far and few, far and few,
Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue,
And they went to sea in a Sieve.
And all night long they sailed away;
And when the sun went down,
They whistled and warbled a moony song
To the echoing sound of a coppery gong,
In the shade of the mountains brown.
`O Timballo! How happy we are,
When we live in a Sieve and a crockery-jar,
And all night long in the moonlight pale,
We sail away with a pea-green sail,
In the shade of the mountains brown!'
Far and few, far and few,
Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue,
And they went to sea in a Sieve.
They sailed to the Western Sea, they did,
To a land all covered with trees,
And they bought an Owl, and a useful Cart,
And a pound of Rice, and a Cranberry Tart,
And a hive of silvery Bees.
And they bought a Pig, and some green Jack-daws,
And a lovely Monkey with lollipop paws,
And forty bottles of Ring-Bo-Ree,
And no end of Stilton Cheese.
Far and few, far and few,
Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue,
And they went to sea in a Sieve.
And in twenty years they all came back,
In twenty years or more,
And every one said, `How tall they've grown!
For they've been to the Lakes, and the Torrible Zone,
And the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
And they drank their health, and gave them a feast
Of dumplings made of beautiful yeast;
And every one said, `If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few,
Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue,
And they went to sea in a Sieve.

this summer she wears her pink kimono
and she will walk under the pink blossoms of the pink sakura
she will carry a pink umbrella
and she will cross the pink bridge of kokoma
pink leaves on her feet
pink fingernails on her pink wooden shoes
in honor of her love
that never bloomed to complete red
she will sit on a pink bench
praying for pink clouds to drift
on the pink skies.

Morning After
When morning comes with its dewy light
And the first shafts peak through the window.
I see you gently slumbering your lips slightly apart
You lie passive and gentle.
Unlike the passion of the night before
When wrapped in the velvet night
We ate hungrily at each other, insatiable,
To gobble up each tender morsel.
We savoured the taste of each other
You smelled of roses, a deep musk,
I drank you in like a fine wine.
We coiled in the serpent act.
Then we lay sated, replete,
To gently drift into sleep

One Way Street
Hey look yonder
Whats that I see
Well that old bogus, honey
Comin after me
I goin told you
Was out of town
I wonder how she knowed
I was hangin around
Say, listen babe
Dont go wastin your time
You keep comin round
Youll hear the same old line
You got a thousand boys
You say you need em
You take whats good for you
And Ill take my freedom
cause lately its been so hard
Ive been make ends meet
And honey, your heads a
One way street
And I gotta go the other way
(heh, heh, heh)
I thought I knew her
My cagey lady
How come my sunshines
Was so damn shady
Shell say she love to talk
A conversation
But Im the one
Who makes my situation
This one way city
That I thought I knew
Its such a pity, honey
Thats it for you
cause lately its been so hard
Ive been make ends meet
And honey, your heads a
One way street
And I gotta go the other way
Theres nothing over here
I never showed you
I made it pretty clear
Im glad to know you
You know your brother spike
Hes on the level
But you always lookin
Like youre mad at the devil
Dont say I cop a tude
Its all forgotten
Its just youre much too rude
Your fruits are rotten
You know I work so hard to keep it alive
Now all I hear from you
Is nothing but jive
Lately its been so hard
Now to make ends meet
And honey, your heads a
One way street
And Im goin on the other way
Yes I do!
And lately its been so hard
To make ends meet
And honey, your heads a
One way street
And I really been feelin
Like I could be movin on
Your heads like a one way street
Youre foolin everybody you meet
I said, your heads like a one way street
Youre foolin everybody but me
I said, your heads like a one way street
Youre foolin everybody you meet
I said, your heads like a one way street
Youre foolin everybody but me...
You got to get yourself back on your feet

Hard Times Are Over
Its been very hard
But its getting easier now.
Hard times are over, over for a while.
The leaves are shining in the sun,
And Im smiling inside.
You and I watching each other on a street corner,
Cars and buses and planes and people go by.
But we dont care, we wanna know,
Wanna know in each others eyes
That hard times are over, over for some time. (yeh!)
Hard times are over,
Hard times are over,
Hard times are over, over for awhile.
Its been very rough,
But its getting easier now.
Hard times are over, over for awhile.
The streams are twinkling in the sun
And Im smiling inside.
You and I walking together round the street corner.
Hard times are over,
Hard times are over,
Hard times are over, over for awhile.
Hard times are over,
Hard times are over,
Hard times are over, over for awhile.
Hard times are over,
Hard times are over,

The Robots (An Observation at the Centralized Marking)
Human robots, men of mechanical age,
Bending the heads cast down the eyes,
Seek; sort out the errors of others,
Shutting eyes to the plagues of their own.
Scratch, scribbles pages making them red,
Like torn stained cloak of the sinner,
Condemned, stoned in the ancients times.
Their hands move, fingers flip the leaves,
Rebelling the command of their own mind,
Work with deep wrinkled irrisible faces,
Devoid of sweet smile, with prints of pangs.
Advance they to the Heads with timid hearts,
Holding breath for approval of the pen green,
Suppressing courage, and subduing valour,
As a rebuked, recoiled hungry child,
Goes ahead to the sustaining parents,
To beg pardon of the fiftieth wrong,
Or as a murderer confronts shrinking,
The justice on the day of decision,
Yielding, submitting the existence whole.
They move around, the figure ninety nine,
And work like an ox harnessed in front,
At the well, moving round and round,
With wrapped eyes following no direction,
Perceiving the long distance covered
Might bring him at the destined point.
But it is pity, in the evening it dawns,
Their dreams shatter, finding at the same spot,
They had started the journey where from.
Had they not had breaking burden on backs,
Would have been masters of their own will;
And might have performed the daring deeds,
Though less paying yet more soul satisfying,
More fruitful than re-revising the scripts.

Purple Evening
I breathe you in as we kiss.
Your hair smells of moor
The tang of peat.
Fresh.
Of the heather, wildness.
The close purple of evening
Slowly creeps across the sky.
We take each others hands
And slowly walk into the moon.
The becks sound a watery serenade.
We seem float on the early mist
Which rises as the earth loses heat,
But we are warmed by our love.
Insulated from the chill, content.
