Even Before The Daylilies Have Re-opened

Even before the daylilies have re-opened,
walking home in the early morning air,
admiring the blue-green petal
of the new apple of the dawn,
Venus ferociously beautiful, and Jupiter
unusually shy by comparison as Aldebaran
fades faster in Taurus than either of them
in the onrush of light, the town immaculately quiet,
and the traffic light feeling robotically unheeded
and the bloom off the streetlamps
in the parking lot of the new hotel,
the cars immobilized in a coma of stillness,
how clean and eternal the silence seems,
how uncannily pure the bliss of life in the air,
as the birds hidden like celebrants in the trees
planted along the sidewalks, and in the black walnuts
of neglected backyards, sing as if they couldn't
contain themselves like old guitars in the corner,
or books upon a shelf, that have heard it all before.

Awake at five alone in the morning,
a new solitude surrounds the singularity of my sentience
and it doesn't really matter what I think
anymore than the content of what the birds are singing
in a language of their own, I am estranged
by the renewal of my own presence
in the midst of all this as if in some kind
of intimately aloof way, I, too, inexplicably belonged.
As did the deserted shops along the street
forlornly awaiting the return of people,
like abandoned pets or lonely barns.
Everything natural and man-made
included in the same embrace
as if space were mysteriously happy
and time gave everything another chance
just to feel how sacred it is to exist here at all.

The ghosts on the night shift return
to their graves with the coffins
of their empty lunch pails clutched in their hands,
having punched in the same hours as the fireflies and stars
and in the rising splendour of the unsayable presence
of wholly being here to experience it, denuded
of the uses and functions we will assign ourselves
later in the day like the smog of insatiable dreams,
achieve as much at this intersection of time and the timeless,
Foster and the universe, where it doesn't matter
if you waited for the light to change
before you crossed the street or not
because the unseekable waywardness of the moment
will do as much to find and renew you spontaneously
as you do to be lost and exhausted deliberately
as if you always walked in the presence of the dawn
even when you let go of its hand or closed your eyes.

Garbage Bags On The Street At Dawn

Garbage bags on the street at dawn
as great fronds of light unfold.
Venus washed out of the Hyades in Taurus
near Aldebaran, but Jupiter the first to go,
first casualties of the new day,
somnambulists outwalking their dreams.
The honking of Canada geese overhead
like ninety-twenties cars. Rites of passage,
thoroughfares of destinal traffic.
Me here, the sleepless witness
to the untimely birth of the morning,
ashes in the urn of the new day
I scatter like pigeons and doves
from the roofs of the unearthly buildings,
a wraith late for the grave, and the rest,
the unlabelled waste of a good beginning.

Bad spiritual protocol for a ghost
to haunt the cradle, to outlive the candles
of the night before, writing suicide notes
to the cults of the stars that don't really care
I've lived for eras alone with the estranged insights
of a native exile longing for a home,
hovel, habitation, palace of space
that doesn't rest on the cornerstone of a planet.

A changeling on the stairs of the abyss,
I address the indifferent windows
cloaked in their chronic transparency
and ask whose child is this
that no one claims as their own?
Not unmindful of how the world shrugs
the stars off like eyes of dew in the grass,
I am born into this emptiness without a lifeboat
and it's a long way to swim from here to the moon,
a long way to fall like a feather cut loose on its own.

My Home Town

The last time I saw my home town, her trees were dressed for spring,
And her people walked beneath those trees and birds found songs to sing.
The last time I saw my home town, her heart was warm and gay,
No matter how cruelly they change her, I'll remember her that way.

I dodged and hided in the fields of golden corn that I had dodged for years.
The chorus of the wind blowing the heavy loaded stems was music to my ears
I thought of happy hours and pure childhood lost, and laborious people who toiled their day
Old women, selling flowers, in markets at dawn, kids rushing to their play

Lonely I was, scanning with lonely eyes, seeking her in vain
Her streets are where they were, but there's no sign of her; the pain is insane
Where are the children who ran in the park and in sun sandy paths
And those who danced under summer night looked at the stars and laugh

I used to watch as a child the fair morning fog clearly chiming in its flowing before my eye;
Warmly and broadly the south winds were winding and blowing over the sky.
One after another the white clouds over the fields of wild tulips were fleeting;
Every heart that gorgeous May morning in joyance was brimming and beating

East Sakura (ft Wabi Sabi)

The East watching the new rising sun
The awakening moment for a very first day
To end the long cold days
By the most welcomed ray
For now a new beginning will start
A bless for every little thing
A new day in promising spring

The mist dissolved in the morning light
East with the sun and sound by the birds
We will witnessing many at this time
Clouds now opened a space for the blue sky
The awaiting moment has come
For many hearts to bloom again

There, look over the skyline
The birds announcing the return of 'Haru'
The old trees stand in two lines along the river
As if they watching over the new shine delight
Radiated heat strikes on the frozen surfaces
Slowly melting snow walking by windy hush
Refreshing trees with spirit wash
Flowing on the branches
Dripping the warm tears
Dropped...Fall down and leave

Drop (a sound)
Another one falls
Pristine pearl dives in a river
A miracle splash waves in circles
Liquid mirror reflects the pink shadows
Of the tree branches after few days past
O Sakura has came back at the same place
At the same season, where the spring is here
Each year, the same scenery repeats.
Only different stories everyone makes
But the lesson still same for us to pick

A short time of this quiet season visit
Small petals winged sakura over the field
Bearable without fears, remind the lands
With a same sakura song they all sing loud
'We found pain, we bleed but everybody hurts'
'But there will be a time where the door will be opened'
'To heal and to gain, from snow to green again'
'Take the chance or we never see it comes again'
'Even in a small twig after snow i shall return'

Watching them flying from this bridge
On my hand, one of them falling
Instantly immerse the rare feeling
As if with my soul it was talking
'Even there's always winter to freeze heart
Or the present of autumn to fall hopes
Nothing to afraid about this hardness
That is a nature of life we cant avoid
Hold it tight, believe for one time
We will find a way out and win
If we know how to take the chances'

I walked away and smile
Thinking for the meaning
Of what i have learned
A lesson In a new day
taught by sakura

*Haru= Spring in Japanese

Take It Where You Find It

Men saw the stars at the edge of the sea
They thought great thoughts about liberty
Poets wrote down words that did fit
Writers wrote books
Thinkers thought about it
Take it where you find it
Cant leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
Manys the road I have walked upon
Manys the hour between dusk and dawn
Manys the time
Manys the mile
I see it all now
Through the eyes of a child
Take it where you find it
Cant leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
Chorus:
Lost dreams and found dreams
In america
In america
In america
Lost dreams and found dreams
In america
In america
In america
And close your eyes
Leave it all for a while
Leave the world
And your worries behind
You will build on whatever is real
And wake up each day
To a new waking dream
Take it where you find it
Cant leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
Repeat chorus
Change, change come over
Change come over
Talkin about a change
Change, change
Change come over, now
Change, change, change come over
Im gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
Im gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
Im gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
Im gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light
Repeat chorus two times & fade

I Don't Think The Wind Sings For Me Alone

I don't think the wind sings for me alone
even in this isolated space where it
silvers the leaves of the Russian olives
like musical scales. Or every thought and emotion,
every image, symbol, or insight
shares the same myth of origin that I do.
Nor all the words that I call my native language
weren't rooted first in someone else's garden.
As the air I breathe was, as the light that has entered
through many more eyes than mine. What I hear
doesn't belong to me, nor what I see,
my private vision. But when I don't grasp
at clouds and water, everything is my reflection
looking back at me as if there were no one there.

I disappear. And I feel my presence everywhere
as real as the sceptres of Queen Anne's Lace
growing old in the moonlight, or the blue fury
of the wild irises burning in their own fires
like the Pleiades. Who can understand
the circuitous wanderings of the mindstream
white water rafting its own axons in an empty lifeboat
when even the questions you raise about it are not your own?
I may well be that, but tonight, I'm not personally involved.
Things occur like spiritual events. The rat snake
strikes the frog, the shadow flash of a bird
transits the moon. Arcturus descends
before the Summer Triangle with the easy grace
of a light that doesn't realize it's being observed intensely.

And I wonder if we're actualizing each other
in some interdependently original way
that it knows as little about as I do.
Or the dead birch tree that's standing by both of us,
naked in its bones as a fan of coral.
Silly man, now you know how a fly
up against a window feels. Or how a mirror
that's deeper than either your eyes
or the light can see into, keeps its appeal.
Been wondering most of my life
in an aloof but wary mode of gratitude
about the great symphony of love and light and light,
like someone who's been hurt by someone they cherish
without knowing why. And whether to laugh or weep
at the absurd tragicomedies that keep appearing
like vulnerable mushrooms in my sleep.

But tonight, tonight, all I want to hear
is the whisper of a dropp of water running down the sluice
of a blade of stargrass. The eerie rustling of the leaves
as if the trees had something to say to me
about my presence among them that leaves me
half again as estranged as when I first came here
to enjoy a freedom that isn't just a matter of changing gates.

Sad man, but tonight I dance with thousands of waterlilies
under the chandeliers of the stars, in three four time,
as if I just remembered how to waltz with the bride
and bow to a flower like a lunar violin. My heart
doesn't look for its reflection in the fire pit
where I burnt all my life masks like straw dogs
when the sacred ritual was over. I denuded myself
basking in the clear light of the void, until
there was no one left, not even me, to notice.

How I Love The Quiet

How I love the quiet
The early morning streets
With few people and fewer cars
The sounds of the wind and the birds
Which do not need to be heard-
The sound of my own voice singing alone its morning song-

How I love the quiet
Of the early morning
And how in my old age
I just enjoy walking along
And singing a song to myself
Into the surrounding silence.

Aubade And I Am Not Like Other Birds Of Prey

Morning at last!
Every night is a fight till you're waking
Dreams dancing past
Through the silence of sleep
Dawn is breaking
I wake and watch them till then
And I am not like other birds of prey
And I am not like other birds of prey
Oh, night is long, you won't needing me
For a dressed up time I am there to see
That fear holds no sway
Soft is my plan
And my eyes kill the lies that felt happy
Life is my right
And in sleep's little bed
I'll protect you
So, hear, let my presence dismay
That I am not like other birds of prey
That I am not like other birds of prey
When hopes are young and your cares are few
Then I'm sure above keeping truth in you
And my name is love

11 Star

STAR:
'FOLLOW THE SAME STAR'
The truth we see;
How small a part
Of that lovely light
Ever reaches our heart?
If you're looking for the light,
There is a star shining bright,
A dawn to this dark night,
A candle burning bright.

Long ago, a star
Sent forth its light from afar.
And now, no matter how far,
We will follow the same star.
Lost sailors used stars
To calculate their course
Whenever the wind and waves took
Them with their force.

Let truth transform you;
It will make your heart and mind new.
If you're not faithful, your heart's in denial;
Take it from me - it's worth your while.
So forget this world with all its cares,
For troubled dreams turn into nightmares.
You have to leave this world behind
If you want to keep what you find.

The stars haven't always been there,
But the love of our Lord is everywhere.
The devil appears as an angel of light;
He does his best work in the night.
One day you'll leave this world of ours,
Taking your place among the stars.
Shine bright with light, my star;
Show the world who you are.

'SHARE THE SAME STAR'
I'm looking at this star tonight,
But will my wish come true?
I can't help wondering,
If you can see the same star too?
Do you see what I see,
As we stand in its light?
Does darkness overwhelm you,
When you look up there tonight?

I am dreaming in the darkness,
About this star that shines above.
I hope that you'll find me,
Looking for true love.
I've wished upon this special star
For my whole life, it seems.
I close my eyes and make a wish
For all my hopes and dreams.

One day, I got my wish;
I finally met you.
You're that special someone,
Who made my dreams come true.
They say you should never tell
What you wish for, it's true,
But I want the whole world to know
That my wish was for you.

Though there are miles between us,
I know our hearts will meet.
At the point this star begins,
The two will have one beat.
Whenever we are apart,
I find that same bright star.
It makes me feel close to your heart,
No matter where you are.

'WISH ON A STAR'
As I wait here, wondering where you are,
I lie in loneliness and look up at the stars.
Soaring on through space like a shooting star,
Still searching - wondering who you are.

As far as you can see into eternity,
Each one is a wish that with you I'll be.
Stare at the sky, on a silent night;
Count the crystal sea of stars, blazing bright.

Staying by your side wherever you may go,
I have to tell you now - I just want you to know
That even as the stars keep shining in the sky,
My love for you will burn forever and never die.

There's just something beautiful about when angels pray;
A star shines brighter in the night than the light of day.
You can't lift a candle to show lost souls the way
Without feeling the warmth of that radiant ray.

'SHINE BRIGHT WITH LIGHT'
Up in heaven, the angels cry;
Another star falls from the sky.
A falling star - a fading light,
And soon it shall pass from our sight.

When the world starts falling apart,
The hope of heaven is hidden in my heart.
I'll make the world a brighter place,
Like the light of a star in space.

Someday, we'll be just like the angels are;
Like the steady light of a distant star.
Someday soon, we'll shine like them,
Radiant as the rarest, glowing gem.

Sing to the stars - sing to the sea;
Let your song echo for eternity.
Truth our hearts alone can see,
A reflection of reality.

'EACH NIGHT I PRAY'
Walking outside, I lift my eyes
To a symphony in the skies.
You are my star - you shine so bright;
When it is dark, you are my light.

Everyday, I'm so grateful
For your warm and glowing light.
Thank you for being so faithful;
You make my whole world bright.

Just like a star, you're so far away.
I think of you - each night I pray,
But I know there's no way
For you to hear the words I say.

I see you in the sky at night,
But I can't touch the star in sight.
I guess I will always be
A friend you will never see.

'WISH YOU WERE HERE'
One night I was out wandering,
Feeling lost and alone.
I looked up into the heavens,
And there a bright star shone.

I picked one to wish on
From every star above.
I closed my eyes and made a wish
To send you all my love.

So look up in the sky tonight
And find that star;
It will shine bright with light,
However near or far.

And when you see our star,
My wish will come to you;
Stars were made to wish upon;
Sometimes wishes come true.

'I SAW THE LIGHT'
I saw a bright ray today
That led me out of darkness.
A little light so far away
In an endless sea of emptiness.

It burned like a shooting star,
In the distance, so very far.
I think it’s getting clearer;
Now it's coming nearer.

A light just as bright as the sun
And almost as distant;
It wasn’t the only one;
You couldn't have missed it.

When I'm lost in the dark and I can't see,0
I just look for the light.
I have hope when it shines on me,
Everything will be bright.

'YOU ARE MY LIGHT'
I looked up at the stars last night,
Just thinking about you,
And wondering what I could do
To make our dreams come true.

Together, we’ll shine like the sun;
Two candles burn brighter than one.
We'll dance just like the stars in space,
Together forever in an endless embrace.

Wherever you go, I will follow;
And it doesn't matter how far.
Without you, my heart feels hollow;
I just want to be where you are.

You shine just like a star so bright;
I'd be lost without your light.
Hand in hand, we'll stand together;
I promise to be there forever.

'A STAR IS BORN'
Every star is destined by fate
To live and then to die.
It glows with light - it just can't wait,
Shooting across the sky.

For a moment, it is there,
Burning bright up in the air.
It falls gently onto the ground,
Without making a sound.

Like a falling star,
Glowing bright with glory,
I'm just another ending
To someone else's story.

Just a dropp of rain in the desert,
Just a grain of sand in the sea;
What have I done that won’t be forgotten?
Will anyone remember me?

'SHINE LIKE A STAR'
I look up at the sky;
It hurts so much saying goodbye.
Every time I think of you,
It makes me want to cry.

Hope is not hope if you can see;
Is there a star that shines for me?
Like a star, you showed me the way;
You led me with your light each day.

I'll say a prayer for you;
I'll make a wish and I hope it comes true.
Put your faith in what you can't see;
I wish you could be here with me.

Sometimes I wish I could be
A star to shine for all to see.
I know the light is not my own;
I could never do it alone.

'YOU ARE MY STAR'
You are my star,
So bright up above;
I can't forget it;
It's you I love.

My star will shine
So bright and true.
It's a light in the night
Made just for you.

When you are lost,
Wherever you may be,
Look for the light,
For it will set you free.

Don't hide your light,
Wherever you are;
Let it burn bright,
Just like a star.

'A SEA OF STARS'
A life is lost;
What can we say?
A bright light burns,
Then it fades away.

And at the sight,
They stop and stare
On this dark night,
But they don't care.

It came and went;
I'm not sure what it meant.
A star fell from the sky,
And I want to know why.

Just for you,
This star fell;
You have one wish,
So use it well.

Forever in My Dreams

Close to the morning hours before I awaken,
I find myself looking outside of the window of my dreams-
Sometimes amidst the bleak darkness, the full moon is rising above the treetops,
Stars are seemingly cascading behind mountains of far away places-
I hear footsteps faintly passing by, perhaps down the hallway of my fantasies-
Slowly my eyes would open and I find myself
Looking outside of the same window and
All I can see are shadows of trees that would be
Touching the sky within a figment of my imagination-
Close to the morning hours, close to the time that the world awakens,
I find myself lost in thought, disappearing into some other realm.
The full moon battles with the rising sun, stars shooting and seemingly cascading,
Saturn, Mars and Venus are dancing in rhythm to
The doleful and mystical song of the locusts screaming-
Inside the fortress of my thoughts,
I have made my home inside this kingdom in the sky-
In this place where the light of the moon is overpowered
By the rays of the early morning sun-
The colors of the sky are reborn- cyanotic blue and
Pearl-white clouds, seemingly tinted with gold,
Amidst the phantasmal waltz of my imagination,
I can hear voices familiar only to myself,
Shouting words that terrify and evoke moments of madness-
It has been said that reason can be affected by the light of the full moon
Before daybreak and I would ride bareback upon the tail of a shooting star
If I only could, as it would take me on a journey across the universe,
Perhaps to a safer place within this magical kingdom in the sky-
Close to the morning hours before I awaken,
I have lost myself inside a magnificent place of my own creation-
A place from which I would never leave if I could only wish upon a star-
This would be my utmost desire- as this lurid but dismal world
Into which I was born has not been kind to me-
As my memory becomes a vehicle traveling backward in time-
I can recall terrifying sights only I could see and threatening voices which
Only I could hear- within that moment that darkness transforms to dawn,
I find my spirit having been rudely snatched away from this place of my fondest reverie-
So I close my eyes and then I can see the stars once more, the moon and Saturn dancing-
And I begin to lose myself once again traveling across this pathway of my dreams-
Tears are falling from my eyes as they open because this vision can never become reality-
Tears would glisten with dewdrops upon the leaves upon the trees reflecting the
Early morning sunlight as I close my eyes once again and wish upon that star
As I would for always and forever in every passing thought…

Lunch And The Story About Geronimo

my lunch with her
could have been my lunch with you
and we could have laughed harder together,

we could have discussed well about Geronimo
his beautiful wife & kids
his lonely life in New York
and his being in love (with someone else)

this, perhaps is the most interesting part
and we could have talked the whole night till the breaking of dawn
when all the stars begin to hide in too much light
fading to the ocean of morning light

but once he said
and he was telling me with all the seriousness of a man
who does not want to be hurt anymore

that love is never a joke
for to him it has entailed not joy but pain
not an open door but a closed gate forever.

What Others May Think.

Apart from the water tower
and the farm

and a few scattered cottages
there were no other buildings

for a mile or more
just you and Jane

and birds in the early morning sky
I like it at this time of day

she said
I like the fresh smell of nature

and the farm
and having few people about

you walked beside her down the lane
that led away from the farm

you noticed how her black hair
seemed freshly washed

and blew slightly in the mild wind
does you father mind

you being out with me?
you asked softly

he doesn't know
she replied

he thinks I came out alone
for a morning walk

why didn't you tell him?
you asked

he was busy writing his Sunday sermon
and it was easier to just go out

and not disturb him
she said looking around at you

her eyes studying you
as she walked on down the lane

would he mind you being with me?
you asked

I don't think he knows you as yet
seeing as you have only moved here

a few months and don't come
to the church

you stopped and took her hand in yours
it was warm and soft

and pulsed with life
she looked at your hand

holding hers and she rubbed
her thumb over the back

of your hand
you wanted to kiss her lips

or cheek just to feel
her flesh on yours

but you didn't you just looked at her
and waited to see

what she would do next
she let go of your hand

and looked around her
there might be people looking

from those cottages up there
she said suddenly pointing up

at the rising bank which went up
to two cottages high up

if they see us they may tell Father
and then it would be awkward

and he might suspect things
and then she went quiet

and looked at the running stream
by the lane

but we haven't done anything
we just walk out and talk

and hold hands now and then
it's not what we do

it's what others think we do
she said softly

and stood looking at you
waiting for you to speak

but you said nothing
just leaned in close to her

and kissed her cheek
and said

even Christ permitted kisses
even the one from Judas

and she smiled
and the early morning sun

pushed through trees
and shone on her hair

and there was the sound of birds
singing in the air.

The Night's A Black Hole Of A Begging Bowl

The night's a black hole of a begging bowl
that doesn't know what to ask for anymore.
Shall I throw the new moon of another beginning in
like good coin of the realm, in passing,
or bite the bullet of a counterfeit eclipse
in the silver silo of the dark abundance
I'm trying to trigger into stars again
like apocalyptic insights going off in my brain?
The heavens roll like an old thirty-eight
I raise to my temple for old times' sake.
But the gate I used to close behind me
in the high starfields to keep nothing in
is hanging on like a lapwing by one rusty hinge
to the wing and the prayer it's dragging on the ground.

It's getting a little late for suicide. The timing's
overtaken the importance of the content.
And this close to the end, it would be a shame
not to see yourself out like friend in the doorway
saying farewell to yourself as you say in return
I'm glad you came to the stranger whose threshold
you crossed like a star in transit at zenith.
My pulse is still hammering swords of light out
on the anvil of my heart for me to fall upon,
but lately I've been bending them like horseshoes
to put them out of use and return them in tribute
to the water sylphs in the sacred pools of my mindstream.

Inspiration ages into crazy wisdom that still
doesn't take its own advice but never fails to sing
in a voice worthy of a wolf or hermit thrush at moonrise.
I've been firewalking my way through this
long, dark, strange, radiant dream since I first
opened my eyes and the stars began to shine
but I've never lived the same thing twice.
Though the morning star falls like Lucifer
in the false dawn of enlightenment, the abyss
cannot be bridged by anyone's trajectories
however high we ascend, how ever deep we plunge,
until we're burning like maple leaves and shooting stars
in the second innocence of our return journey back to earth.

Fletched arrowheads of the sky, even the birds
falling short of the unattainable miss the mark
and return to the green boughs of their beginnings
just like the flight of these words in the sunset
as the night overwhelms us all unspeakably
with the proto-nostratic of the stars
like a mother-tongue of light that leaves nothing unsaid
in the autumn darkness fragrant with the decaying dream grammars
of the dead slipping their shadows like secret messages
under the door of the book we're writing between us,
the beginningless prelude of the endless epilogue
of the memoir of the love life we had with Venus in Virgo
when the new moon was in the claws of sensuous Scorpio.
Big, red-hearted, archaic Antares
threshing the green wheat of Spica
as if the harvest had been achieved before the seed was planted.

Just because we die doesn't mean that life
is finished with us like the draft of a manuscript
we threw into the bonfires of the maple trees
to inspire our ashes to rise out of the open urns of our firepits
like the feathers of a dragon enflamed by the wind
so our spirits could ride their own legends a breath
higher and closer to the stars every time we open our wings
to re-read the lyrics it took a lifetime to write in scars
like thorns in defence of the mystery of the black rose
we were happy to bleed for as if our blood had no other use
than the ink in the pens of these leafless woods
dreaming of new foliage in the spring returning
like the plumage of eagles to the lonely flight feathers
of their skeletal quills. Fossil constellations
in the darkness that whisper between the lines
of the alpha and omega of the life themes that once ran
like purple passages of the mindstream
that can still shed light on our afterlives in a book of shale
long before we had eyes to read what we were writing
like loveletters to ourselves on intimate terms
with the inconceivable solitude of this distant future
we're all living now in celebration of yesterdays yet to come.

Fragile Timetable

I whisper dawn prayers
To gaze upon your face
In the summer moonlight,
I weep with the birds
Dreaming of your eyes,
I Find treasure in your voice
And God in your heart
But lack of comfort
In the world
When the days are ceaseless
Absent your presence.

We all exist
On a fragile timetable
With the hour unknown
When we return to the universe
Where we began
In a spiritual realm.

I hope for a long night
Of reciting you poems
And singing songs;

Maybe that will happen,
But I fear I’ll never see you again.

Early Morning

Early morning
Great
I was a little late last night
got a little messy
I can't be like that anymore (early morning)
uh - no
CHORUS
I was shakin my ass in the street til mornin
Just walked in an it's early mornin - uh!
Bump bump to the break of dawn
And it don't stop til the early mornin
Passed out on the couch I'm yawnin
Just walked in an it's early mornin - let's start again
Bump bump to the break of dawn
And it don't stop til the early mornin
Met a dark dude, kinda dark hair
When he walked up
Tony grabbed him
But I liked him
I told him "come here
Kinda cool
Baby, we can make plans
Where you live?
Do ya mamma live there?
We can hook up at the hotel"
He was down so I told him "let's go"
what happened - guess what, you don't wanna know
CHORUS
I was shakin my ass in the street til mornin
Just walked in n it's early mornin
Bump bump to the break of dawn
And it don't stop til the early mornin
Passed out on the couch i'm yawnin
Just walked in n it's early mornin - let's start again
Bump bump to the break of dawn
And it don't stop til the early mornin
I went out with girl Jen
And we called up gabe and his friends
He was talkin bout hittin up Show
So I said "what the hell? - let's go!"
Got up n got on the dance floor
Hooked up with a guy named Joe
When the music was fast danced slow
what happened next -guess what? you don't wanna know
CHORUS
I was shakin my ass in the street til mornin
Just walked in n it's early mornin
bump bump to the break of dawn
And it don't stop til the early mornin
Passed out on the couch i'm yawnin
Just walked in n it's early mornin
Bump bump the break of dawn
And it don't stop til the early mornin
Call all your boys
Call all your girls
Call all your friends
Let's do it again!
Let's do it again!
Early mornin
I light your fire,
Your one desire
Pull on me baby
And I'll take you higher
You should try it
So come over here
And let's go so....
CHORUS
I was shakin my ass in the street til mornin
Just walked in n it's early mornin
Bump bump to the break of dawn
And it don't stop til the early mornin
Passed out on the couch i'm yawnin
Just walked in n it's early mornin
Bump bump the break of dawn
And it don't stop til the early mornin
Call all your boys
Call all your girls
Call all your friends
Let's do it again!
Let's do it a...
Early mornin
Early mornin.

It Didn't Matter

It didn’t matter if the moon was full last night, and that I did not count the stars-
Or that the birds were singing upon early morning awakening,
Forty or some odd years ago- or perhaps even before then-
A full moon evoked fantasies of fortune, mystery and desire to know
What existed beyond my own back yard-
Stars were a million light years away and
Brought to mind none but curiosity and fascination-
I never knew why birds sang and hardly cared- as
Their songs were hymns of enchantment,
In tune with love of nature at the rising of the sun -
The dawning of a new day was reason for celebration.
I do not know if the moon was full last night
The sun could rise this morning and
This world could cease to exist-I am lost inside a world of my own
Where I live inside the fortress of my thoughts,
Spoken words echo about my mind and
Inundate with fear, rage and terror-here inside the tenement of my delusions
I have been commanded by voices echoing about the chambers of my mind
To lock the door to actuality, and to toss its key to the wind outside-
The songs of the sparrows have evaded me and
I no longer care to witness the rising of the sun, or
The dawning of a new day, and have become quite a stranger to myself-
It doesn’t matter if the moon was full last night
And not only the stars are a million light years away- as seemingly are
Hopes and dreams for a promising future I had as a child-
I stare upward towards the ceiling counting
The stars that are a figment of my imagination-
Inside the world of my thoughts, dreams and apparitions
I am being inundated by a phantasmal though provocative meteor shower, and
Trapped inside hell’s brushfire that no rainstorm can extinguish;
It has been said that dancing beneath the full moon can bring about loss of sanity-
Hiding inside the safe haven of my fondest dreams
I could be found wishing upon one of those stars
Some millions of light years away-
While I have become a lost soul with no destiny-
Dancing beneath that fickle light of the moon, mistrustful of all intruders, I could be-
Hell’s brushfire has burnt down the bridge that connects veracity to unreality-
Even though it may always remain in question
To whether or not the moon has remained full past midnight as would be hidden behind
Clouds of apprehension, I can still
Wish upon those stars after the day the sun burns out-and perhaps some day
I may find hope, peace of mind and fortune as near as within my own back yard…

It Really Doesn't Matter

You say your ugly, i say it doesn't matter.
You say you have a dark past,
i say it doesn't matter.
You say theirs overwhelming responsibility,
i say it doesn't matter.
I don't believe in walking away when things get hard.
In fact they are my spark to continue my march.
Through thick and thin where to begin.
You say you don't have a way.
I say it doesn't matter.
You say that you cant give back what you would like.
I say it doesn't matter.
You say, you say oh it really doesn't matter,
I live one day at a time.
Choices will be made that will save the day
but hurt me financially.
It doesn't matter Choice will be made
that will set me back in my expectations.
It doesn't matter,
It really doesn't matter.
Its well worth it.
To see the beauty that
you have placed before me.
Oh how its worth it.
To settle down and not be looking to be found.

Voice

Quiet, that time before dawn;
A moment betwixt night and day
Just before the sun cracks the horizon
To flood the earth with light.
Before the first birds sing their morning praise.
A time of silence and contemplation,
Before the bustle of the day intrudes
And shatters its passing beauty,
For in that moment if you listen close
So faint upon the trembling air,
So quietly and gently spoke
You may hear the creator's voice.

Doesn't It Seem As If This Dawn Is Different?

Good Morning.
Such a beautiful day.
Doesn't it seem as if this dawn is different?
Doesn't it seem as if the presence of fresh air,
Has made those stop and stare...
And wonder about their priorities and affairs?

Had you been one of those raise to use the 'N' word?
With the 'F' and the 'S' and the 'MF' next?
Were you one of those to 'G-D' them and their kind?
Today you may find yourself,
Feeling stupid and perplexed.
Realizing your beliefs are far from perfect!

Had you been one of 'those' to move away from 'them'?
Because of their features and color of skin.
Did you and your friends,
Plot to deceive.
Believing your future was to create,
Generations of dynasties.
To fulfill selfish needs of a racial 'purety'.

Are you one of those who now sit scratching,
Your once privileged head?
Isolated in surburbia,
And clouded in sadness...
With a dose of overwhelming dread?
You have to admit...
You and yours to yourselves have fed.
With wishes your life and perceptions about it,
Could start all over again,
Instead?

With plantation dreams...
Of having slaves bring to you breakfast in bed.

Those me-me-I-I issues and racist remarks...
Seem a bit trifling today don't they?
Since your values and standards are being ripped apart.
And you were right there cheering this 'BS' on!
Hoping those you selected to lead...
Would not strip away those visions,
To have you plead...
As you and others with similar points of view...
To do to others before they did it to you.

Backstabbing to defame,
Without remorse and/or shame.

And now...
The blame game.
Who has done what to whom and why.
But those who create conflict in fellowship...
Worshipping 'things' that bring upon their feelings of emptiness.
Has begun an experience of a flagrant miscalculation.
One you thought you would never reminisce.
Not to treat you...
One of their own like this!

And yet...
Their deeds will not deliver escapes...
To flee from guilt.
Or the manifestation of such devastation.

Good Morning.
Such a beautiful day.
Doesn't it seem as if this dawn is different?
Doesn't it seem as if the presence of fresh air,
Has made those stop and stare...
And wonder about their priorities and affairs.
With an awareness that dares to be accepted!

How can those who invested in collected deceit...
Be treated with such disrespect.
As a few plan and plot,
To crush them into subservience...
In an accepting consciousness,
That awakens too late to protest!

Good Morning.
Doesn't it seem as if this dawn is different?
To those of you who have been out of touch!

Slowly...
Inhale the realities.
The availability of them have for you arrived.

Life is Life

Sometimes I attempt to climb ladders
Sometimes I hold pee in my bladder
And there are days I feel exhausted
Almost like I have been combusted

But Life is Life
It doesn't really matter
It will carry on
You can spend it alone
You can share what you have sown
Or you can enjoy it all on your own

Sometimes I read the news
And it gives me chills rather than blues
That I have to give credit to those in poverty
Who embrace it peacefully with open honesty!

But Life is Life
It doesn't really matter
Wars will be lost, some will be won
And babies will continue to be born
Sometimes there is rain, sometimes sun
And some will inevitably die by the hands of a gun

Sometimes I am shy
And I don't know why?
Sometimes I am horny
And I weary my hair in a pony
The fashion magazines, the luxurious limousines
Make you want to take time out commit sin to win

Sometimes I awake feeling on top and up
And the good vibe goes on without a stop
Sometimes I can’t help feeling sloppy
As I try keeping awake from a coffee cup

But Life is Life
It doesn't really matter
Crawl, walk, run or hop
Life itself will never stop

The Voyage

We all are on a voyage,
a voyage to the stars.
None of us will get there
in big old fancy cars.
Some of us will get there
long before some others.
But it doesn't matter
for we're sisters and brothers.
This voyage must be taken
on a solo flight.
It will only happen
when you see the light,
the light that shines so brightly
right before your eyes.
The star that you will go to
will make you realize
that earth is just a temporary place
we come to visit.
It feels like home for a while
and maybe you will miss it.
But when you reach that star
that you're headed for
all your memories will return
like walking through a door.

The stars are out there twinkling
all through the night,
twinkling out a message
to all that see its light,
saying'I'm waiting for your voyage.
Come back home to me.
I'm the star you've reached for
throughout eternity.'
