That Cat
I saw that Cat the other day,
Where he was going who could say?
He strode along his head held high, his tail erect to brush the sky.
He gazed at me with pure disdain,
As if to say 'not you again! '
His promenading, full of grace, would indicate he owns the place.
What does he really think he's at?
Can he not see he's just a Cat?
And be satisfied with that?
Oh no, this feline bon-viveur,
Of Royal bloodline he is sure.
How can he be the stuff of Kings, while eating Rats and things with wings?
His gait screams immortality,
Nine lives he has, supposedly,
But that old tale is just a myth, not something that I'm bothered with.
His haughty ways do not fool me,
I see through him with clarity,
He's just another quadruped, with dreams of glory in his head.
He pads along with studied poise,
His ears pricked for any noise,
That might just help him demonstrate, those hunting skills he thinks innate.
He's self-deluded,
Self-possessed,
But all the same, a Cat, at best.
He turned the corner of my street,
The tour of his domain complete,
Adventures over for a while, he headed for his domicile.
I sauntered home with confidence,
To find him perched upon my fence.
I picked him up and tickled him, he purred at me and we went in.

Pads, Paws And Claws
Shes a feline tormentor, not any vaudeville wife
But with a drunk-town lament he leads her a miserable life
But when hes full of that beer-champagne
She pads, paws, pads, paws and claws
And if he should wake up in some terrible dive
And he dont know if hes so-so
But hes so surprised hes alive
"come on little honey, let me under your hive"
She pads, paws, pads, paws and claws
She pads, pads around the bedroom, practicing ways to flirt
He paws, pours another drink and anything in a skirt
Anything wearing a necklace
He thinks of claws scratching his back hes
Going out there hes not coming back
Shes got spider-leg fingers, sharpened whenever he strays
And she carries a bird-purse, with all of her womanly ways
til hes drinking hairspray, she knows that he never would dare
She could be in pictures if she wasnt all covered in fur
Hes coming home now and heres the surprise
You wouldnt believe the lies that he tries
She cut him down to her favourite size

Over There
Im a soldier of fortune
Ive come to save the day
Theres a country thats needs me
And an enemy to slay
All my friends are in uniform
God is on our side
But Im leaving my baby back home
As we head for the ocean
Our spirits are high
To battle, to glory, what a lovely way to die!
Looking back at the shoreline
Ringing in my ears
Are the words of my baby back home
Where are you going to so far away
Your dreams of glory will soon fade away
We are so young, so much in love
Your country needs you but I need you more
So far away
Over there
Out on the frontline the story has changed
For the glory of battle is the myth on printed page
As my friends fall around me
I wonder when I die
Will they carry my body back home
What are you searching for so far away
Your dreams of glory will soon fade away
We are so young, so much in love
Im so afraid I wont see you again
Your country needs you but I need you more
So far away
Over there
So far away
Over there
Where are you going to so far away
Your dreams of glory will soon fade away
So many lives wasted away
So many die again and again
Some people say that the knights are all gone
Some people say that the dragons are dead
But the dragon lives on
As the spectre of war
And the killing and slaying goes on as before
Will it ever end
Oh ... will it ever end
Will it ever end .... ?

Hymn 31 part 1
Condescending grace.
Psa. 138:6.
When the Eternal bows the skies
To visit earthly things,
With scorn divine he turns his eyes
From towers of haughty kings.
He bids his aweful chariot roll
Far downward from the skies,
To visit every humble soul
With pleasure in his eyes.
Why should the Lord that reigns above
Disdain so lofty kings?
Say, Lord, and why such looks of love
Upon such worthless things?
Mortals, be dumb; what creature dares
Dispute his aweful will?
Ask no account of his affairs,
But tremble and be still.
Just like his nature is his grace,
All sovereign and all free;
Great God, how searchless are thy ways,
How deep thy judgments be!

Hunting High And Low
Typed by [email protected]
Hunting High and Low:
Here I am
And within the reach of my hand
She's sound asleep
And she's sweeter now
Than the wildest dream
Could have seen her
And I watch her slipping away
But I know I'll be
Hunting high and low
Ah there's no end
To the lengths I'll go to
Hunting high and low
Ah there's no end
To the lengths I'll go
To find her again
Upon this my dreams are depending
Through the dark
I sense the pounding of her heart
Next to mine
She's the sweetest love
I could find
So I guess I'll be
Hunting high and low
Ah, there's no end
To lengths I'll go to
High and low
Ah, do you know what it means
To love you
I'm hunting high and low
And now she's telling me
She's got to go away
I'll always be hunting high and low
Only for you (And now she's telling me)
Watch me tearing myself to pieces
Hunting high and low
Ah, there's no end
To lengths I'll go to
For you I'll be hunting high and low

The Royal Scam
And they wandered in
From the city of st. john
Without a dime
Wearing coats that shined
Both red and green
Colors from their sunny island
From their boats of iron
They looked upon the promised land
Where surely life was sweet
On the rising tide
To new york city
Did they ride into the street
See the glory
Of the royal scam
They are hounded down
To the bottom of a bad town
Amid the ruins
Where they learn to fear
An angry race of fallen kings
Their dark companions
While the memory of
Their southern sky was clouded by
A savage winter
Every patron saint
Hung on the wall, shared the room
With twenty sinners
See the glory
Of the royal scam
By the blackened wall
He does it all
He thinks hes died and gone to heaven
Now the tale is told
By the old man back home
He reads the letter
How they are paid in gold
Just to babble in the back room
All night and waste their time
And they wandered in
From the city of st. john without a dime
See the glory
Of the royal scam

She Thinks Shes Edith Head
Back in high school I knew a girl
Not too simple and not too kind
We both grew up, but I heard shed changed
From a new wave fan to another kind
She thinks shes edith head
But you might know shes not
The accent in her speech
She didnt have growing up
She thinks shes edith head
Or helen girlie brown
Or some other cultural figure
We dont know a lot about
Its been years since I moved away
But at christmas I come home
And I saw her reflection
In the window of a store
She was talking to herself
Not too simple and not too kind
I walked on by, it was complicated
And it stuck in my mind
She thinks shes edith head
But you might know shes not
The accent in her speech
She didnt have growing up
The accent in her speech
She didnt have growing up
The accent in her speech
She didnt have growing up
She thinks shes edith head
She thinks shes edith head now
She thinks shes edith head
She thinks shes edith head now
She thinks shes edith head
She thinks shes edith head now
She thinks shes edith head
She thinks shes edith head now

Labour Of Love
Marriage is a two-headed transplant,
Sometimes thats how it seems.
When the sex wears off its all give and take,
And its good-bye to all your dreams.
One head wants to go to a movie
While the other wants to stay at home,
And just like a two-headed transplant
You get the feeling that youre never alone.
Mr. and mrs. horrible are an example of what I say.
They used to be so in love, now they fight so much
That theyve frightened all their friends away.
They never get visits from neighbors,
Theyve alienated everyone.
And what started off as all cuddles and kisses
Has finally become
A labour of love, labour of love.
The torment, the worry and woe,
Loves full of fears, bruises and tears,
Thats the way that a true love grows.
Its a labour of love, labour of love.
Its a struggle, without a doubt,
But if they keep on trying, screaming and crying,
Somehow theyre gonna work it all out.
It turned into a two-headed transplant,
But it started off with here comes the bride.
But cut off one of the heads and youll soon find out
That the other just couldnt survive.
Because they couldnt stand to be separated
They still each others to have and hold.
Anyone who thinks the transplant is easy
Really ought to be told
Its a labour of love, labour of love.
The torments, the worries and whoas,
The battles, the fights, the bruises and bites,
Thats the way that a true love grows.
They took the vows, for better or worse,
And they had it blessed by heaven above,
But what started so brightly as a tender romance
Turned into a labour of love.
Turned into a labour of love.

Look Up To See
The little girl bent her head
She lost her mother today
Lost her to the waters of death
Where her warm hugs cannot reach
But she opens her eyes
Looks up to see
Her little sister wipe away her tears.
The little girl bent her head
She has cried so many tears
Non of them were perfect
And she's tired of the screams
But she opens her eyes
Looks up to see
Her friends welcoming her home.
The little girl bent her head
The scars on her arm, a tell-tale sign
Her sadness she locks away
Hidden in colours on canvas
But she opens her eyes
Looks up to see
The ball go through the basket of happiness
The little girl bent her head
She thinks there could've been another way
That she should've never left.
The land of smiling skies
But she opens her eyes
Looks up to see
A hand show her the way
The little girl bent her head
In a dark corner lies her future
Hiding from her heart
Too far for her to touch it,
But she opens her eyes
Looks up to see
A dream walking through light

Ancient Warrior
Theres no end - theres no beginning -
To the old mans story
Does he still remember me -
From lives gone by
Oh I see his spirit rising
Upon the back of time
Ive got nowhere to hide
Will he keep a place for me
He is the king of all kings
The keeper of light
He holds eternitys wings
In his eyes an oceans burning
Swollen seat of tears
Troubled mind the beating
War drums in his ears
No one ever hears his warning
Am I the one he calls
When they tell me theyre afraid
Some say Ill be put away
He is the king of all kings
The keeper of light
He holds eternitys wings
My blood will spill my blood
My blood will spill my blood
In the wisdom of the prophets
Never ending tale
Open up the eyes
Within your mind, he says
Crowned in his ancient glory
Theres a king within us all
Some will say its all in vain
That he doesnt have a name
He is the king of all kings
The keeper of light
He holds eternitys wings

Feng Shui
One day it was familiar but not home
it had turned that way
while he was at work
the first thing he noticed
were his matching sox
arranged symetrically in the corner
of a drawer which only contained sox
he searched several drawers
before locating his drawers
which had been assigned two levels down
he tried to find pattern to this arrangement
which hadn't been in thirty-eight years
usually he could find his drawers in a pile
nested near the unmatching sox
and now he straightened and noticed the bed
which had been turned, revealing darker paint
where the head once was
'It faces north now, the way it's supposed to'
He gazed at her in the blue lotus flower kimono
and she said ' You really should take off your shoes'
So he took off his shoes
sitting on the north headed bed
and looking up at a red paper dragon lantern
covering the bulb in the ceiling
Removing his shoes he stared at her
she looked like a geisha with a lot of make-up
and ivory sticks through her hair
' Things are going to change around you'
she said without smiling
'It looks like it has ' he said looking
at the dragon consuming a long legged bird
in a painting which now hung on the wall.

Cotton-Wool
Shun the brush and shun the pen,
Shun the ways of clever men,
When they prove that black is white,
Whey they swear that wrong is right,
When they roast the singing stars
Like chestnuts, in between the bars,
_Children, let a wandering fool
Stuff your ears with cotton-wool._
When you see a clever man
Run as quickly as you can.
You must never, never, never
Think that Socrates was clever.
The cleverest thing I ever knew
Now cracks walnuts at the Zoo.
_Children, let a wandering fool
Stuff your ears with cotton-wool._
Homer could not scintillate.
Milton, too, was merely great.
That's a very different matter
From talking like a frantic hatter.
Keats and Shelley had no tricks.
Wordsworth never climbed up sticks.
_Children, let a wandering fool
Stuff your ears with cotton-wool._
Lincoln would create a gloom
In many a London drawing-room;
He'd be silent at their wit,
He would never laugh at it.
When they kissed Salome's toes,
I think he'd snort and blow his nose.
_Children, let a wandering fool
Stuff your ears with cotton-wool._
They'd curse him for a silly clown,
They'd drum him out of London town.
Professor Flunkey, the historian,
Would say he was a dull Victorian.
Matthew, Mark, and Luke and John,
Bless the bed I rest upon.
_Children, let a wandering fool
Stuff your ears with cotton-wool._
Amen.

Flying Without Wings
Everybody's looking for that something
One thing that makes it all complete
You find it in the strangest places
Places you never knew it could be
Some find it in the face of their children
Some find it in their lover's eyes
Who can deny the joy it brings
When you find that special thing
You're flying without wings
Some find it sharing every morning
Some in their solitary lives
You find it in the words of others
A simple line can make you laugh or cry
You find it in the deepest friendship
The kind you cherish all you life
And when you know how much that means
When you find that special thing
You're flying without wings
So impossible as it may seem
You've got to fight for every dream
'Cause who's to know
Which one you let go
Would have made you complete
Well for me it's waking up beside you
To watch the sunrise on your face
To know that I can say I love you
In any given time or place
It's little things that only I know
Those are the things that make you mine
And it's like flying without wings
'Cause you're my special thing
I'm flying without wings
And you're the place my life begins
And you'll be where it ends
I'm flying without wings
And that's the joy you bring
I'm flying without wings

Crystal
Hand of gold stretches out
to touch a rose’s scented petal.
Kissed by dew and now by hand,
it holds out thorns like some sharp nettle.
Beauty it has unbound,
regardless of surrounding around.
Head held high in fragrant air,
sun looks down plentiful there.
Diamonds, rubies, emeralds adorn,
round necks and arms are worn.
Stones that gleam and formate suns,
beauty that startles and stuns.
Stones of glory, stones of death.
Rainbow colours as light passes through.
Evil, good and happiness follows them too.
Waves under the sun shimmer,
like the silvery glint of a flashing scimitar.
People pass each other daily,
never knowing what the other thinks.
Wrapped in dreams of some passed glory,
lives that see no coloured tinsel.
Things they do they are never sorry,
their whole lives trapped within a crystal.

Dreams of Avalon
Into the wilderness blue she strides turning her head from temptation,
Within the heart of her soul lay the prospect of pure redemption.
Clarity she seeks upon her Journey as I sit and ponder within myself.
Open are the realms to long lost memories of crying beneath
The covers of a blood red blanket asylum. I remember now, burying
My head into the pillow of forgetfulness, I remember now how I felt
Whilst travelling home bearing the tears of regret,
I remember now leaving the beauty of frozen mountain ranges behind
Me as I strode on into the heavy unknown.
Such a strange memory it is to have awoken at this time yet I have grown
Upon and beyond the tears that kept me drowning and I have become
All to aware that those are the memories that ground me alongside
Reminding me of my freedom.
I pray you are never but a memory of a former life
But that I know you to be near throughout my existence upon this plain and beyond
Though I understand we may be worlds apart at times, sometimes with distances growing.
Spoken is my heart too often, numbed is the sensibility of my reason,
Yet it would seem high treason of the soul to silence the spirit of passions saviour.
Dreams of Avalon within the dreams of Albion’s children settle within the
Twilight Realm.Pan can be heard upon the wind, his piping heralding on the dawn of summers glory.

Chipmunks Confusion
Chipmunk
Tail held high
Sprints across the street
On the fly -
To get to the other side
His only goal
There to dive
In another hole -
But wait,
Half way across
His small attention span
Gets lost -
The aroma of an acorn
Lingers upon the center line
With just one sweet sniff
He knows what he must find -
Turning
With the street
Several cars
He does meet -
Dodging them all
In and out
Strictly by chance
Blindly following his commanding snout -
Desire rules
Over fear for death's sake
Find the acorn
Whatever it takes -
At length
Circling full around
Back to where he started
In his own abode, under the ground -
Silly
He thinks to self,
That seductive sweet scent
Was the nut, here, on my own home shelf -
... So, back out
Once more he goes
Resuming his daily routine
Of crossing the road -

The Snakes I Have Angered
Life is full of problems that we all must face
As we wander through life trying to find our place.
With time and practice we learn the ways that work
And how to find solutions that don't make us look like a jerk.
Problems are like snakes who sometimes want to share our home.
They sneak in without warning and won't leave us alone.
They can hide so quickly and move around so fast
The present often gets tangled up with the memories of the past.
A face to face meeting can be full of fright and pain
But I must take some action or find someone to blame.
To cut off a snake's tail only makes him see red.
To solve the problems I must cut off the head.
Family and friends make easy targets to hit on
When I can't face my problems or want to call it quits
But now it has become plain for me to see
The meanest snake I have angered sometimes lives in me.

Esaul (Place For My Head Demo Version)
Riding with a head full of bodies are red
And when this x is still stuck in my head
But misled doing the things I do would make you never wanna come back
But an all front attack, so you could never run from that
Being trapped in this beau, some that I never wanted to do
But through it all you've got to see that what I want to be
Is over the pen again letting it out of me
In the center of the day in the dream, seeing all my thoughts
Getting lost in between, realizing one that the way to the sea
And the killing and again are in the head with the screams
I wanna live in another place
Where no one can say that I live for them
I wanna be in the energy, not with the enemy
A place for my head
We're gonna be crushed when it all falls apart
Going in the hollow, hoping that you won't know
The strain it puts to me, seeing what you've done
And consequently I've run away, just hitting again
Within the boundaries of an anguish
Want me to say this, but you're dragging me down
Lost in the chaos being tossed around
Singing again to myself, a head full of hectic
Hope that some day you'll regret this
Everything's the wrong place, the wrong time
Adding to the panic in my confine
Singing again to myself, a head full of hectic
Hope that some day you'll regret this
Everything's the wrong place, the wrong time
Adding to the panic in my confine
I wanna live in another place
Where no one can say that I live for them
I wanna be in the energy, not with the enemy
A place for my head
You
Tried to take the best of me
Go away
You
Tried to take the best of me
Go away
You
Tried to take the best of me
Go away
You
Tried to take the best of me
GO AWAY
You
Tried to take the best of me, go away
You
Tried to take the best of me, go away
You
Tried to take the best of me, go away
You
Tried to take the best of me, go away
I wanna live in another place
Where no one can say that I live for them
I wanna be in the energy, not with the enemy
A place for my head
Shut up
Singing again to myself, a head full of hectic
Hope that some day you'll regret this
Everything's the wrong place, the wrong time
Adding to the panic in my confine going blind
Singing again to myself, a head full of hectic
Hope that some day you'll regret this
Everything's the wrong place, the wrong time
Adding to the head of mine, confined
