Whales
Whales.
What can I say about whales? I’ve seen them blow geysers of hot water
on the coast of Canada and Norway. Great innocent beings with small
brains living in peace, but for man. So much meat and fat; have you ever
tasted whale meat, it is dark and tender but it has to be soaked overnight
in vinegar or it will taste like cod liver oil. In the old days its fat made liquid
was good to lit lamps. We have got electricity now, so if you want a steak
kill a cow, they are plentiful, mind they are innocent too, graze and do not
know they are targeted to end up as burgers. The whales have a complex
language marine biologists say I don’t think it is hard at all, they are saying
in surprisingly feminine voice … where are you? I’m here two miles away
from you and watch out for boats, with propellers”. “Ok, thank you”
Sven Foyn, the whale murderer, nearly hunted them to extinction with his
exploding harpoon gun, but thanks to a few nature lovers this cruel practice
ended… Today there are many whales in the ocean sooner or later someone
will say there are too many of them, we have to cull them and make a little
money on the side. And unseen by us, but known by whales, a dark hulled
ship with a captain Ahab onboard is still hunting for an illusory white whale.

Whales Weep Not!
They say the sea is cold, but the sea contains
the hottest blood of all, and the wildest, the most urgent.
All the whales in the wider deeps, hot are they, as they urge
on and on, and dive beneath the icebergs.
The right whales, the sperm-whales, the hammer-heads, the killers
there they blow, there they blow, hot wild white breath out of the sea!
And they rock, and they rock, through the sensual ageless ages
on the depths of the seven seas,
and through the salt they reel with drunk delight
and in the tropics tremble they with love
and roll with massive, strong desire, like gods.
Then the great bull lies up against his bride
in the blue deep of the sea
as mountain pressing on mountain, in the zest of life:
and out of the inward roaring of the inner red ocean of whale blood
the long tip reaches strong, intense, like the maelstrom-tip, and comes to rest
in the clasp and the soft, wild clutch of a she-whale's fathomless body.
And over the bridge of the whale's strong phallus, linking the wonder of whales
the burning archangels under the sea keep passing, back and forth,
keep passing archangels of bliss
from him to her, from her to him, great Cherubim
that wait on whales in mid-ocean, suspended in the waves of the sea
great heaven of whales in the waters, old hierarchies.
And enormous mother whales lie dreaming suckling their whale-tender young
and dreaming with strange whale eyes wide open in the waters of the beginning and the end.
And bull-whales gather their women and whale-calves in a ring
when danger threatens, on the surface of the ceaseless flood
and range themselves like great fierce Seraphim facing the threat
encircling their huddled monsters of love.
and all this happiness in the sea, in the salt
where God is also love, but without words:
and Aphrodite is the wife of whales
most happy, happy she!
and Venus among the fishes skips and is a she-dolphin
she is the gay, delighted porpoise sporting with love and the sea
she is the female tunny-fish, round and happy among the males
and dense with happy blood, dark rainbow bliss in the sea.

Killer Whales
Come my friends give an ear to this tale
It's all about the ocean and the big black whales
They are humongous, and hardly seen
Unless you are submerged in a submarine
Their home is the ocean,
They swim to the depths
And can easily escape the fishermen nets
In books you must have read their tales,
They are sea monsters called Killer Whales
They use echolocation to communicate and hunt
At times when the come up, you can watch their stunts
They are black with a few spots of white
And swim the ocean at the speed of light
The feast on marine mammals, fish and seals
That makes for them a wonderful meal
Each whale weights six tons or more
And are mostly found on the ocean floor
The enjoy the ocean without any fear
The King of the seas, thrust up like a spear.

The Whale
The Whale is found in seas and oceans,
Indulging there in fishlike motions,
But Science shows that Whales are mammals,
Like Jersey cows, and goats, and camels.
When undisturbed, the Whale will browse
Like camels, goats, and Jersey cows,
On food that satisfies its tongue,
Thus making milk to feed its young.
Asking no costly hay and oats,
Like camels, Jersey cows, and goats,
The Whale, prolific milk producer,
Should be our cheapest lactic juicer.
Our milk should all come from the sea,
But who, I ask, would want to be—
And here the proposition fails—
The milkmaid to a herd of Whales?

Accepting Evolution
there is this feeling that you are slimy
and prickly and
floating on the water like a whale
and you hide back to the depths
making signals if there are still other whales
out there
and yes, i could have been once a whale
or was i a shark.

The Whale of a Gift for Peace
THE WHALE OF A GIFT FOR PEACE
U.S.A. and U.S.S.R., the two super powers,
In constant fear of nuclear showers,
Have dutifully held many a table-talk,
Which oft' ended in a mere dead-lock.
Man, though highly civilized he is,
Is still in his secure cocoon-a chrysalis—
The dark fear of his emerging foes,
Out-weighs his urge to metamorphose.
Whales caught under the cold-sea off-shore,
Plucked at the heart-strings of man-kind galore—
To save the panting whales from extinction,
American submarines arrived at the destination.
The launch of a frantic operation by U.S.A.,
To ward the whales off from going astray,
Drew U.S.S.R. too, from behind the curtain,
To join hands and save them, certain.
With knitted vision, in concentration,
The operation was in contemplation;
The POWERS summoned all their powers,
And employed them to unleash the thick ice covers.
Ah! The large crust of ice is broken!
There opens an arena for ventilation;
The whales clamour for a bout of fresh air,
And man is enraptured with his loving care.
Ah! The large crust of ice is broken!
There opens an arena for ventilation!
The world breathes a bout of fresh air,
As dawns a ray of mankind's amity, with this affair.

3. Singing Whales
Singing whales I hear your song
Deep down low where you belong
Tunes my mind cannot unravel
Many miles your songs will travel
Singing whales send out your sound
In the oceans where you’re found
Tons of blubber sifting krill
Hunting as you move at will
Singing whales all wet and shiny
Giant sounds heard by those tiny
Sounds that hold a hidden charm
To help all restless souls stay calm

We're Looking For The Whales
(Mags/Pal Waaktaar)
One left low left two who left high
They seam to hard to find
Three came twice took once the time
To search...
We're looking for a little bewildered girl
We're looking for a little bewildered girl
We're looking for the whales
Restlessness is in our genes
Time won't wear it off
Born into this world with our eyes wide open
Girl
We're looking for a little bewildered girl
We're looking for a little bewildered girl
We're looking for the whales
I found angels
Beached outside your doors
Don't you set those lonely eyes on me
We're looking for the whales
We're looking for the whales...

It had an enormous impact to the point of the United Nations passing a resolution against the killing and hunting of these whales as they are an endangered species. This was a documentary on the plight of the whales.

No Southern Right Whales
No southern right whales at Warrnambool last year
Due to oil exploration near Logan's Beach we hear
For to give birth the females went elsewhere
At Logan's Beach for them too noisy there.
Whether or not they do return next Spring
To Warrnambool when the nesting birds do sing
Or will they swim by Warrnambool and not decide to stay
Time can only tell as some are known to say.
For to give birth they need a quiet place
For to insure the survival of their dwindling race
Where they and their young can stay for a month or more
Where human beings for oil do not explore.
Will southern right whales give birth at Warrnambool again
Or will Warrnambool's loss be another coastal town's gain?
Breaching whale mothers and their calves an amazing sight to see
And of such I retain the memory.

Behold, an Eskimo Kingdom.
Eskimos live on caribou,
Fish, berries, whales and seals.
Hard biscuits and tea warm ‘em
Other than what had from nature.
What a delicacy when blended
Caribou meat, seal oil and
Artic berries with ice flakes,
‘Akutok' their creamy delight!
Snow dwellings in winter,
Tents of skins on summer,
Eskimos called both an Igloo!
Their Chief had to be skilled,
In hunting or Fishing, whom
Advises sought when needed.
Brave hunters and gatherers
By nature, moved in groups,
When seasons changed, for
Life's course for every race
Is different in many a ways!
Their bodies covered by skins
Of Polar bear, fox, seals
And Caribou kept them warm
In their Frozen kingdom!
Huskies drawn sleds to slide
Over, Kayak for single hunter
And Umiaks to carry families
Across the icy waters, were
Their conveyance natural.
Wild whales when appear
Eskimo group would hunt
With skill and might sheer,
A survival on frozen thorns!
Stories that have traversed
Generations on drum beats
Made them dance during
Winter nights for hours long.
Responsible valorous men
Gathered food for families
When women made clothes
And cooked for their men.
Fur-bearing fox and bear
Were hunted for skin, fish
And seal for flesh, in ocean,
Rivers and streams all seasons.
Sought aid of‘Shamans' to make
Spirits appear to cure when sick,
Ensure a good hunting and
To control the weather hostile.
Even in their frozen minds
Forms of art had its place,
With many available stuff
Had manifestation of skills.
A brother Eskimo grins on
Looking at his FB screen,
By the frozen Greenland or
Siberia, Alaska or Canada!
Might be in pursuit of new
Techniques for hunting,
Shaping, shearing, sailing
Still with his Sealskin boots on!

The Song of Whales
It is silent under the sea, untill. The whales. They sing their song. Their voices rise up and down in time to the crashing of the waves. They sing their song. The song of the whales. The song only they can sing.

Confidence (misplaced Revised)
man's greed may
boast of finally
consuming the
earth in the
next hundred
years
cutting all the trees
polluting the sea and air
and rivers
exploding its mountains
killing all the
fetus
and whatever hope
for the seeds
annihilated
but the earth knows
everything right
from the start
soon every destruction
is pingponged
back to man
and the earth will be
back to another
thousand years of
silence
sleeping waking
and humming
another grass so green
is spread
butterflies unhampered
whales crowding
the sea
peaceful landscapes
dews and
mildews
birds and grasshoppers
and whales
singing in
perfect harmony

Conversations With Hune (Part Three)
if the child becomes a parent,
and the parent becomes a child...
is growing older an illusion?
does salvation denote
being saved from oneself,
or from all else?
is prayer something we say,
something we feel,
or something we do?
or merely the act of breathing?
do whales laugh at our ignorance?
do dogs weep for our fears?
do birds intimately know freedom?
if so, why are we
the 'dominant species'?
or are we whales,
dogs and birds...
and just too blind
to know it?
is the truth then complex,
or just so simple that it seems...
who built the walls between us?
was it not us?
if we could put god in a thimble,
and then took it out to look...
would it not appear to be empty?
is empty then the cup turned down?
or are we looking at it from the wrong side?
could it be then that empty is the cup filled?
and that fullness is found in empty?
is love then a returning
to what we never left?
are we not then the wind,
collecting bodies!

The Whalers Dues
Money speaks. soft hearts lose. the truth only whispers.
Its the whalers dues.
Ive been running on diesel. been running on coal.
Running on borrowed time, if truths to be told.
Two whales in the ocean, cruising the night
Search for each other before we turn out their light.
Been accused of deep murder on the north atlantic swell
But I have three hungry children and a young wife as well.
And behind stand generations of hard hunting men
Who raised a glass to the living, and went killing again.
Are you with me?
Money speaks, soft hearts lose. the truth only whispers.
Now pay the whalers dues.
Can you forgive me?
Now Im old and I sit land-locked in a back-country jail
To reflect on all of my sins and the death of the whale.
Send me back down the ages. put me to sea once again
When the oceans were full --- yes, and men would be men.
Can you forgive me?

Each Creature Within Nature
From the great whales of the ocean to the garden snail in his shell
Each creature within Nature does serve it's purpose well
And the creatures we dismiss as vermin are not vermin at all
They contribute to Nature in some way though their contribution may seem small
What can be said of Nature that has not been said before
She is the one immortal she will live forever more
Many of her creatures gone to extinction but new life forms she create
The one the artists and the writers feel inspired to celebrate
The one who lives by her own law and does things in her own way
From our every walk in Nature we learn every day
'Tis not out of a sense of joy that the male bird sings his song
But to warn neighbour males of his own kind that this patch to him belong
The creatures us humans dismiss as vermin not so in Nature's eyes
And Nature's ways are far more complex than we even realize.
