Thirsty Cars

Those steep, tiring hills going home, I had been in town
bought a new kitchen sink, the second one in forty years,
nothing lasts, that’s how traders make their ill gotten
gains.

My car was exhausted trailing smoke, to lighten
its burden I alighted walked in front as it followed me
slowly.

On a flat stretch it teasingly overtook and drove
in front of me and down a track into a deep ravine where
feral donkeys live and run unlicensed garages I wasn’t in
the mood to play “follow the leader, ” so I walked home
past wayside bars where cars guzzled Brazilian cane fuel
and flashed their indicators,

I ignored this depravity and hasted away. Midnight, when my car pulled up outside, it had lost the kitchen sink and was splattered in manure
of the long eared members of the horse family.

I got very cross with the term, kitchen sink. It just meant that you invaded different kinds of houses, where it was very difficult to avoid kitchen sink.

God Was Right

God was right when he made the women
Because men built house for the women to live in with their families
And he included a kitchen
But God knew that if the house had a kitchen the women would be better The whole night cooking for her family
And God knew that the kitchen was the perfect place for women
God was right when he made women so that they can have babies
And feed the babies milk from her breasts and change all the babies Diapers everyday
Because the only way babies communicate is by crying
And all the babies needs their naps
God was right when he made the women
So she could be there to do the family laundry also
And women's job is never done at home
Because as long as she lives she will be the slave of home

My Dream Home

My dream home would be a log home in the city
Downstairs would be the kitchen with the laundryroom in it
And a storage area
Also there would be a family room with a living room
The log home would have 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms
In the hall of the log home would be the linen closset
At the front of the log home there would be the stone driveway
But at the back of the log home there would be the indoor garden so that We could use it all year round
The floor in the log home would be wood
And the walls in the log home would be beige
There would be Ikea furniture inside of the log home
Also the neighbourhood would be a well established neighbourhood
But very quiet indeed
Not too much traffic
The parks nearby would be very sophisticated with colorful
Flowers and beautiful trees

Look good in pink

‘I Look Good in Pink’

All day I’m stuck
To the kitchen sink
Or cleaning the toilet
To get rid of the stink

Making breakfast
Dinner or tea
So that they will
All love me

Make their beds
Wash their clothes
Their dirty socks
Makes me hold my nose

So that they will love me
Partner wakes up
Has breakfast
Then goes to work

The children play with their food
Go of to school
This muck, no, thank you
How rude

Partner comes home
Has their dinner
In front of the telly
Or the computer

Then they fall asleep
Oh how I could weep
Saturday night
Down the pub

Suddenly they come alive
Come here dear; high five
Then comes the little wink
And darling you look good in pink

That was the final straw
To tell a man
He looks good in pink
In front of his mates

Put away some more beers
Need to sulk; have a think
It’s hard to be a house-husband
However! I do look good in pink

In front of me
In her wide, terrace home
She sat on the old rattan chair
Her body was thin
Her hollow eyes to muse in the sky
She wants tell a definite story
Which keep a more forty years ago?
With fear and apprehensive, under the old bones

Who had been arrested by military regime?
Because mismanagement, same name
But different person

And the other one, a teacher who became member of PGRI Non Vacsentral
Under bow of Indonesian Communist Party

Of democrat women, under bow of PNI Party
But because mismanagement under military regime,
My husband arrested,
As PKI members,
Without any explanation
Where my children need schooling, food for eat
And cloth, house for protect them in growth

However, to day, after forty years she feels free
After told all what happened
Of her husband and all of their suffering

Tumbleweed Roundup

The posse had gathered
in the emptiest part of town.
Even the dust looked bored.
It was not like there was
enough sentencing to go round
to make a paragraph.
Maybe the Indian Wars
would finally steamroller the pioneers.
All that learnin' foa what?
The Community wanted a lynching
before they knew who did it.
Thankyou for your narrative interest in this position
but we regret to inform you...
Mixed or miffed genres
the Sheriff knew he was up against it -
maybe today he'd name his target, but
no, he wasn't to show his hand
until well after midnight, at which time
the intruder would have left holding nothing
but a kitchen sink -
tho Wild Bill was up on the roof
Bonnie was staking out the front door
and Killjoy Finch had a measure
on Forms. Turnip had planned
a tripartite brochure
to keep the town straighttalking
and Old Quickdraw was gettin' optimised
in a dream of a passive tense.
If the World cometh to our door
if the world were the word? ventured the Preacher.
All eyes turned to him who had once before

Home sweet Home

I't's nice to have a home
somewhere to relax
and unwind at the end of a day.
If your homeless and on the street
home can be a cold shop doorway
or even a cardboard box.
But for some home can be a mansion
full of expensive antique furniture
with a full size swimming pool.
Home can be a dingy bed-sit
in a house divided into rooms
all sharing the kitchen and bathroom.
Or a one bedroomed council flat
in a fifteen storey tower block
where the lift is out of order again.
Home can be a in a caravan park
or even in a tent on a camp site
or on a barge or luxury yacht.
But a home is what you make it
full of happy times and fun
memories to stay forever.
You can be happy in a flat
and miserable in a castle
it's not about riches and wealth.
So enjoy the home you live in
no matter where that may be
be proud of where you live!

A Date Of Misfortune

A Date of Misfortune

The bus was late it was raining when she alighted…
my temper was moody, since it was late the kitchen
at the café was closed, but they still had slices of
“black forest gateau, ” we had that with white wine
because the waiter refused to serve red wine with
a gateau; she drank the whole bottle and got giggly.
Going to my place, we stopped an outdoor kiosk
selling hotdogs, I ate two with mustard on, since she
disappeared throwing up in the back of the stall.
She refused to come home with me I walked her to
the bus station where she caught the last one home
to her parents.

Where I Come From

Well I was rollin wheels and shiftin gears
round that jersey turnpike
When barney stopped me with his gun
Ten minutes after midnight
Said sir you broke the limit in this rusty ol truck
I dont know about that accent son
Just where did you come from
I said where I come from
Its cornbread and chicken
Where I come from a lotta front porch sitiin
Where I come from tryin to make a livin
And workin hard to get to heaven
Where I come from
Well I was south of detroit city
I pulled in this country kitchen
To try their brand of barbecue
The sign said finger-lickin
Well I paid the tab and the lady aked me
Howd you like my biscuit
Ill be honest with you maam
It aint like mama fixed it
Cause where I come from
Its cornbread and chicken
Where I come from a lotta front porch pickin
Where I come from tryin to make a livin
And workin hard to get to heaven
Where I come from
I was chasin sun on 101
Somewhere around ventura
I lost a universal joint and I had to use my finger
This tall lady stopped and asked
If I had plans for dinner
Said no thanks maam, back home
We like the girls that sing soprano
Cause where I come from
Its cornbread and chicken
Where I come from a lotta front porch sitiin
Where I come from tryin to make a livin
And workin hard to get to heaven
Where I come from
Well I was headed home on 65
Somewhere around kentucky
The cb rang for a bobtail rig
Thats rollin on like thunder
Well I answered him and he asked me
Arent you from out in tulsa
No, but you mighta seen me there
I just dropped a load of salsa
Where I come from its cornbread and chicken
Where I come from a lotta front porch pickin
Where I come from tryin to make a livin
Workin hard to get to heaven
Where I come from
Where I come from yeah its cornbread and chicken
Where I come from a lotta back porch pickin
Where I come from tryin to make a livin
Workin hard to get to heaven
Where I come from
Yeah where I come from
A lotta front porch sitiin
Starin up at heaven
Where I come from
Where I come from
Tryin to make a livin
Tryin to make a livin
Oh, where I come from
Where I come from
Yeah where I come from
Get back down there sometimes
Where I come from

(alan jackson)
In a small town down in georgia over forty years ago
Her maiden name was musik til she met that jackson boy
They married young like folks did then, not a penny to their name
But they believe the one you vow to love
Should always stay that same
And on the land his daddy gave him, a foundation under way
For a love to last forever or until their dying day
They built a bond thats strong enough to stand the test of time
And a place for us to turn to when our lives were in a bind
And they made their house from a toolshed
Grandaddy rolled down on two logs
And they builts walls all around it
And they made that house a home
They taught us bout good living
They taught is right and wrong
Lord therell never be another place
In this world Ill call home
My momma raised five children, four girls then there was me
She found her strength with faith in gof and love of family
She never had a social life, home was all she knew
Except the time she took a job, to play a bill or two
My daddy skinned his knuckles on the cars that he repaired
He never earned much money but he gane us all he had
He never made the front page but he did the best he couold
And folks drove their cars from miles around
To let him look underneath the hood
And they made their house from a toolshed
Grandaddy rolled down on two logs
And they builts walls all around it
And they made that house a home
They taught us bout good living
They taught is right and wrong
Lord therell never be another place
In this world Ill call home
No therell never be another place in this world
That Ill call home

Daylight Katy

She walks be the sea where the seaworld is
And she waits for the man to come
She lives in town with her high-heeled friends
And she knows its a long way down
But she doesnt have to get up in the morning
With her hair so soft and long
Daylight katy come on
Daylight katy come on
If you cant follow me down
Daylight katy go home
Daylight katy come on
Daylight katy come on
If you cant follow me down
Daylight katy go home
She walks to the sea where the seaweed is
Where the rust and the dirt runs deep
She lives nine lives in her midnight world
While her old mans fast asleep
And she doesnt have to get up in the mornin
With her hair so soft and long
Daylight katy come on
Daylight katy come on
If you cant follow me down
Daylight katy go home
Daylight katy come on
Daylight katy come on
If you cant follow me down
Daylight katy go home
She lives by the sea when the summer wind comes
And the sea dont mind at all
She talks to the sea when the sea runs wild
And the waves run steep and tall
And she doesnt have to get up in the mornin
With her hair so soft and long
Daylight katy come on
Daylight katy come on
If you cant follow me down

She Walked Barefoot...

she walked barefoot,
across them factory floors,
down that gravel road,
across the yard,
and into that old house.

she walked barefoot,
across them kitchen floors,
down that long hallway,
across the floor to the bed.

she walked barefoot,
between them garden rows,
out in the fields,
down through the pines
to the creek.

she walked barefoot,
down them hospital halls,
down the aisles of the church,
out in the cementary
to the grave...

she walked barefoot,
into the arms of eternity,
and i'd give all i am
to wash her feet
with my tears!

I Don't Look Back

I was born to travel down blue highways
I never seem to learn much from my past
I don't make excuses for my mistakes
I take each day and I live it
Like it was my last
I don't look back
One foot in front of the other
On this one way track I don't look back
I live my life my way
I don't look back
I'm sure there's memories I've missed out on
There's been a couple of loves I've left behind
I haven't found a heart hat I can count on
But don't feel sorry for me
I ain't the lonesome kind
I don't look back
One foot in front of the other
On this one way track
I don't look back
I live my life my way
I don't look back
No I don't look back
I don't look back
One foot in front of the other
On this one way track
I don't look back
I live my life my way
I don't look back
I live my life my way
I don't look back
No I don't look back
No, no I don't look back
I don't look back

You Can Take It With You (When You Go)

Well, I'm gonna have to get a new mailbox
'Cuz all she left me was a hole
And I'm gonna hafta get a new washin' machine
As soon as I get some new clothes
Well, I could close my eyes and run through this house
And never once stub my big toe
It was a man who'd never been left who said
You can't take it with you when you go
Hell, she took everything but the kitchen sink
If I had me a glass Lord, I'd pour me a drink
It's a lesson hard learned but it just goes to show
You can take it with you when you go
Well, I'm sittin' here on this hard floor
Where a big, soft couch used to be
And I'm starin' at a bug on the wall
Where there used to be a TV
Well, I'd kill that sucker in a heartbeat
If I could find me anything to throw
I was so naive to have ever believed
You can't take it with you when you go
Well, she took everything but the kitchen sink
If I had me a glass Lord, I'd pour me a drink
It's a lesson hard learned but it just goes to show
You can take it with you when you go
Well, she took everything but the kitchen sink
If I had me a glass Lord, I'd pour me a drink
It's a lesson hard learned but it just goes to show
You can take it with you when you go
I oughta call somebody but I ain't got a phone

The Town I Loved So Well

In my memory, I will always see
The town that I loved so well
Where our school played ball by the gas yard wall
And they laughed through the smoke and the smell
Going home in the rain, riding up the dark lane
Past the jail, and down behind the fountain
Those were happy days in so many, many ways
In the town I loved so well
In the early mornin the shirt factory horn
Called women from cryin, the moor and the bog
While the men on the dole played a mothers role
Fed the children and then walked the dog
And when times got tough there was just about enough
And they saw it through without complainin
For deep inside was a burning pride
In the town I loved so well
There was music there in the derriere
Like a language that we all could understand
I remember the day that I earned my first pay
When I played in a small pick-art band
There I spent my youth, and to tell you the truth
I was sad to leave it all behind me
For I learned about life, and I found a wife
In the town I loved so well
But when I returned, how my eyes have burned
To see how a town could be brought to its knees
By the armoured cars and the bombed-out bars
And the gas that hangs on to every breeze
Now the armys installed by that old gas yard wall
And the damn barbed wire gets higher and higher
With their tanks and their guns, oh my god, what have they done
In the town I loved so well
Now the musics gone but they carry on
For their spirits be bruised, never broken
They will not forget but their hearts are set
For tomorrow theyll have peace once again
For whats done is done and whats won is won
And whats lost is lost and gone for ever
I can only pray for a bright, brand new day
In the town I loved so well

Black Cowboys

Raney William's playground was among Haven's streets
Where he ran past melted candles and flower wreaths
Names and photos of the young black faces
Whose death and blood consecrated these places
Raney's mother said Raney stay at my side
For you are my blessing, you are my pride
It's your love here that keeps my soul alive
I want you to come home from school and stay inside
Raney'd do his work and put his books away
There was a channel showed a Western movie everyday
And that brought him home books on the black cowboys of the Oklahoma range
The Seminole scouts that fought the tribes of the Great Plains
Summer come and the days grew long
Raney always had his mother's smile to depend on
Along the street of stray bullets he made his way
To the warmth of her arms at the end of each day
Come the Fall, the rain flooded these homes
In Ezekiel's valley of dry bones
It fell hard and dark to the ground
It fell without a sound
And they took up with a man whose business was the boulevard
Whose smile was fixed in a face that was never off guard
In the pipes 'neath the kitchen sink his secrets are kept
In the day, behind drawn curtains in the next bedroom he slept
And she got lost in the days
The smile Raney depended on dusted away
The arms that held him were no more his own
bones
In the kitchen, Raney slipped his hand between the pipes
From a brown bag pulled five hundred dollar bills and stuck it in his coat side
Stood in the dark at his mother's bed
Brushed her hair and kissed her eyes
In the twilight Raney walked to the station on streets of stone
Through Pennsylvania and Ohio his train drifted on
Through the small towns of Indiana the big train crept
As he lay his head back on his seat and slept
He woke and the towns gave way to muddy fields of green
Corn and cotton and endless nothing in between
Over the rutted hills of Oklahoma the red sun slipped and was gone
The moon rose and stripped the earth to its bone

Were Not Deep

You can put it down to lack of patience
You can put it down to lack of sleep
But its in my head to stay in bed
Tucked under the sheets
They said if you try to get on Id get on
They said there were changes
But now my chance has gone
And I know what you think
What you think about me
Thoughts like that sink home
To you were not deep
Now it may be a sad reflection
On the way young people feel
But early monday morning
Is losing its appeal
I open my curtains at 7am
Just so you think Im up with the rest of the men
And I know what you think
What you think about me
Thoughts like that sink home
To you were not deep
Youd do yourself a favour if you gave yourself a break
But thats one risk youd never take
The evenings yours, the mornings mine
But dont knock me, Im doing fine
Youd do yourself a favour if you gave yourself a rest
But just for now you know whats best
And I know what you think
What you think about me
Thoughts like that sink home
To you were not deep

Grand Remapping Of Reality

As we change our mindsets
we change the past
We live in the moment for it is the one that lasts.
We lighten the burden of identification to circumstances
and learn to follow are heart in remembrance.
For the veil is lifting and nature reveals
a visit from higher dimensions is upon us if we don't yield.
For if we don't claim our innocence and try to perceive
we will make our own hell and suffer and grieve.
For the eyes of the innocence and the pure at heart
will see all as a family community and not be a part.

Home Again In My Heart

One in a million in a lonely town,
Two hundred people trying to keep me down,
Ive taken all I can, I aint lookin back.
Small town boy in a back yard lot,
Cant make a living with the luck Ive got
Im gonna leave it all, I aint looking back.
Thats the way I remember, it seemed to me when I was young.
But I can still see the leaves slowly fall to the ground,
And the snow on the trees as the winter comes down.
Still I go home again in my heart.
My father worked hard on the railroad track;
37 years cut across his back,
He gave it all he had for what he believed.
Like every other kid that came before,
I grew up believing there was something more
And I still believe, I still believe.
Thats the way I remember, it seemed to me when I was young.
But I can still see the leaves slowly fall to the ground,
And the snow on the trees as the winter comes down.
Still I go home again in my heart.
But I can still see the lightning on a warm summer night
And the rain on the roof when I close my eyes;
I can still hear us laughing on the front porch in the dark.
There are days when I know that Ive traveled so far
That Ill never find the road leading back to the start,
Still I go home again in my heart
Still I go home again in my heart
In my heart, in my heart
