The Lucky Break

The young Russian, who had ended up on the shores of Algarve,
was drunk, poor and miserable. He offered people to help unload
trolleys into cars, few wanted him to do so as he was a big man
and looked threatening. Cold shoulders of contempt, yes he did
noticed it ok and every arrow of rejection found its mark.
He approached me I gave him enough money to buy a litre of
wine. A litre of wine would bring some relief he would be able to
sleep for a few hours, but knew he would wake up at dawn, feel
wretched and ashamed full of hopelessness and thinking how to
escape this misery that only drink could assuage for a few hours.
Once I was drunk, skint and far from home, I went into a church
for warmth, found a big money note on the floor I put it in
the collection box and cursed. Hell it I could not take the note
back it would look like a theft. I don’t know what I feared the most
stealing or being caught stealing. The day after I got a job, no it
didn’t make me religious, but it made me appreciate the element
of luck in life.

Bluebird Wine

(rodney crowell)
Baby brought me in out off the highway
Made me put my money in the bank, bank
Straightened out my crooked way of thinking
Made it purely pleasure when I drank
And its all right
Ive just hit my stride
Right off the bat
Lord, Im drunk on bluebird wine
Baby taught me a diffrent way of thinkin
Like how to spend my evenings here at home
Listning to the music on the radio
Drinking all the bluebird we can hold
And its all right
Ive just hit my stride
Right off the bat
Lord, Im drunk on bluebird wine
Baby says hed really love a party
Well get some friends together feelin fine
Any friend of mine is worth his habit
A belly full of babys bluebird wine
And its all right
Ive just hit my stride
Right off the bat
Lord, Im drunk on bluebird wine

Ten Pound Note

I was five when mam left us
But before she passed away
She gave me a ten pound note
For a coat on a rainy day
But there was no coat which could last
The rainy days I had to bear
So I lent my money to my brother
Who looked after me with care
My brother spent the money
Everywhere we went
On things I didn’t care about
Like camping in a tent
On bandages and soap
And fishing in the river
And chips when we were hungry
To warm a bellies shiver
He seemed to spend lots of money
I wanted my money back
I decided ten years later
For I never bought that mac
Brother where’s my money now
I loaned you long ago
For years you’ve spent it carelessly
But I still love you though
He was sad as he looked at me
Then he began to say
I promised mam not to leave you
Until your rainy day
Its time to buy that coat now
I’m leaving you today
You’ve grown to be a fine young man
But I must sail away
Your note has never left me
Its folded in my pocket
It sits so very tightly
In our mams silver locket
Its your turn to keep it now
Your note has kept us near
Goodbye my little brother
Let me wipe away your tear.

Drunks Denial

the drunk will continue on the path of denial
and accepting the truth is not their style.
they can sit at a table and drink a fifth of gin
and for them, it is no sin.

or they can go out to a bar with people all around
get blitzed and fall to the ground.
they will stutter and stammer
and say they are fine
and that all they had was a little wine.

they'll slide behind the wheel
although 'their face they don't feel'.
they'll start the car and then glance around
to make sure there are no cops to be found.

they'll shift the car into gear
of getting caught they have no fear.
at times they will start off at a slow pace
then they will proceed to race.
some will say they need the exhilaration of speed
to maintain the high they need.

some will say they need to get a 'head'.
just so they could go to bed.

no matter what excuse the drunk may think or say
with someone else's life you do not play.
the life you took when you could not see
was someone called 'me'.
you took my life while i was in my prime
'i was gone before my time'.
and that dear drunk is a crime.

A Litre Of Wine

A litre of wine

The wine in the glass is full the red liquid arches the slightest
movement and it will spill over and run down the stem like
a bleeding stomach wound trickling down a petrified leg.
I bent down and inhaled the wine no spillage and I wondered
why it is so many people, in fact more and more drink beer
that is no longer a natural brew is it because we are no longer
a part of nature and seek and feel more at ease with man made
products and we will soon have a diet that fits with the work
we are doing, say if you want a double cheeseburger with fries
you first have to work shuffling coal for twelve hours,

but if you only want to sit writing a simple poem about
the country side low fat yogurt for you; if you have written
the poem under the influence of a steak you will be censured,
made to walk in the park and tell everyone you’re a crock of
empty of gold empty of anything a modern society such as
networking banalities and get people to buy what they don’t
need; men get medals and titles for doing that. So what do
I care, but it annoys me that I end up buying a soap which
name I have seen on the television and smell like everybody
else, yeah…isn’t that just nice?

Lie would win over truth

He was
Shabbily dressed,
Gloom
On his unshaven face
Pain in the eyes
He entered my chamber
Politely asked for a
Ten-rupee note
To buy medicine for his
Ailing wife
Without thinking much
I gave the note to him
After few days
He came back again
With the same story
Another note
Was given to him
By his third visit
I came to know
He was an imposter
Concocting false stories
To collect money
I yelled at him
Asked him to go away
Refused to give
Any money
He smiled and said
Now you know the truth
However,
I need the money
You have to give it to me
Other wise
I shall go on the road
Shout on the top of
My voice
You call yourself rich
But you are the
Biggest miser
On the earth
Who does not have?
Even a Ten-rupee note
To help an ailing lady
I am a popper
Nobody knows me
However, you shall
Lose your prestige
In my heart, I cursed him
My prestige was on stake
Lie would win over truth
In sheer disgust I gave
A hundred rupee note to him
Requested him to please
Spare me
Do not bother me again

Pains of Divorce

His entire life was in his pocket
Starting from his daughters hair locket.
A few pictures of him and his family
Reminding him of how things used to be.

A crumbled up note saying:
Daddy ! I love you - I want you home.
This is where you belong.
The divorce had not gone too well
He had put his family through a living hell.

He felt the pressures getting to him
Of things he did and places he’d been
Of a life that he had been ashamed
He turned to alcohol to ease the pain.

They say with friends he had been
Who Turned to crime and to sin.
they convinced him that
This business was easy prey
And with this they could get away.

He got caught and served some time
Got out of jail and was doing fine.
Then he ran across the same old crowd
Drinking in a bar and getting loud.

Since he had met them his life had changed
He left the bar in a fit of rage.
This rage soon opened up his mind
And he fell to the floor and began to cry.

He asked himself: how is it! that we lose our way
We leave our families and go astray.
How is it! That love is like wine
It gets you drunk and leaves you blind.

How is it! That we fall under loves spell
It makes us happy- or it puts us thru hell.
How is it! That we see faults in others
But not in ourselves.
Do we think that we could hide it
And no one can tell.

He was putting the blame on him falling in love
And wanting to give his family so much more
That he lost himself and forgot the score.

He recalled: I once felt like a king on his throne
And now I’m left all alone.
I knew what it was like to make love
Under the stars above.
I would feel your heart beating on top of mine
And thought that we’d be together till the end of time.
Those beautiful nights and those fantastic days
Where I would make love to you in every way.

Like a fool I let this all slip away.

He found religion on that night
Turned his life around, and began his plight
He would fight to get his family back
He would not give up the slack.

The pains of divorce changed his way
And he knew he would never stray.
His wife saw the change in him
And decided to take him back in.
His daughter now happy as can be
Because once again she had her family.

Ten Euro Note

Ten Euro Note

The old road into town is only used by walkers
now, weird people, who would look out of place
anywhere else and Marian Hyde, who writes
about alternative lifestyles, in the Guardian.

I had found a wallet with a twenty euro note,
photos of a posing nude woman, it belonged to
someone named Carol. I asked around, they all
knew her, a pro who often walked this way.

A handmade and of real leather and on and
impulse I added a ten euro note and wondered
if when I caught up with her she would notice,
or was my motive more self serving?

I met up with Carol at a road side pub gave her
the purse, she opened it counted the money,
said nothing, but she was talking to a footballer
who wanted to be tennis professional.

I walked where I was accosted by a Liverpool
comedian who couldn’t stop telling jokes,
I soon stopped laughing, smiling and listening,
but my disinterest didn’t matter anyway.

Carol came out, joined us, she had bought me
a beer and was in a good mood, the comedian
had fallen asleep, she knew the why of my ten
euro note and I knew of her nude pictures.

Wiped Out

Wiped out!
I went to a party, just so smartly, cool as cool could be
I knew I could make it, knew I could shake it, lose some fancy free
So I went to the table and reached for a bottle
And poured me a glass of wine
Took a few sips and looked around, I was feelin fine
But an hour along, comin on strong, I was gettin drunk
The next thing I knew I looked at you, I was blind as a skunk, I was
Chorus:
I was wiped out, I had my lights out
Was fallin right out, cos I was wiped out
Through the smoke-filled room I caught your eye
And I think that you caught mine
And I knew in a minute or maybe less, it was just a matter of time
Then you started to move with such a groove, stronger than sneakin slow
Then you looked at me with your big blue eyes, they had such a glow
Then I took your hand and tried to stand and ended up sittin back down
Then you smiled at me and gave me a wink, how quick I lost my frown, I was
Chorus
So I looked at you and then I knew that we were gonna have some fun
So I thought to myself, wine was out, we should switch to rum
So without a word, and like some bird, we flew to another place
And pretty soon we were in some room stretched miles out in space
The room was turnin, we were burnin, things became a haze
It seemed that already I had too many, firewater caused the blaze, I was

It was much too hot

It was much too hot
in that Pick-a-Pay shopping centre
in the middle of a Pretoria summer
and something went awry
with the air-conditioning
which was blowing hot air.

We had two trolleys full of groceries,
bought our budget for the month
and your face was red pink
covered in gleaming sweat.

Two girls passed in the isle
holding hands
and looking as if
they were much more
than friends.

You bended down
to get some coffee
and the first
that I noticed them
was when one cursed
at you and then at me
to get out of their way.

There were a million things
that I could say back,
but it occurred to me
that they could pass anyhow
and that their manners
were totally lacking
which I made clear.

At the row at the cashier
you spotted them again
and realized that you know one
from somewhere
and gave her your mind
and she didn’t know
what to say back
and blushed tomato red.

We passed the Wimpy
on our way to the car
and I herded you there
where they had
bottomless Coca Cola,
burgers and fries.

Our money was tight
but we enjoyed ourselves
drinking one glass
after another

and a father, mother
and two children
came to the neighbouring table.

He was unsteady on his feet
and his speech
proclaimed him being drunk
and he had probably already
started drinking brandy and beer
long before the afternoon’s rugby match

and he had a lot of patience
with their children
and they didn’t notice his state,
but embarrassment was written
over the face
of the poor woman
who could have faded away
while he loudly
made a fool of himself.

Get Drunk

Always be drunk.
That's it!
The great imperative!
In order not to feel
Time's horrid fardel
bruise your shoulders,
grinding you into the earth,
Get drunk and stay that way.
On what?
On wine, poetry, virtue, whatever.
But get drunk.
And if you sometimes happen to wake up
on the porches of a palace,
in the green grass of a ditch,
in the dismal loneliness of your own room,
your drunkenness gone or disappearing,
ask the wind,
the wave,
the star,
the bird,
the clock,
ask everything that flees,
everything that groans
or rolls
or sings,
everything that speaks,
ask what time it is;
and the wind,
the wave,
the star,
the bird,
the clock
will answer you:
"Time to get drunk!
Don't be martyred slaves of Time,
Get drunk!
Stay drunk!
On wine, virtue, poetry, whatever!"

Fragments - Lines 0467 - 0496

Of those now here with us, do not detain anyone who is unwilling to remain,
Nor show the door to anyone who does not wish to go,
Nor wake anyone who is sleeping, Simonides, should one of us,
Well fortified by wine, be gripped by gentle slumber;
Nor bid the wakeful man to sleep against his will;
For everything that is forced is by nature painful.
For the one who wants to drink, let the boy stand close and pour;
Not on all nights is it possible to enjoy delights like these.
But as for me, since I have reached my limit of honey-sweet wine,
I shall think of sleep that loosens cares, going home.
I have reached the point when a man feels most pleasure in drinking wine,
Being neither sober at all nor yet excessively drunk.
Whoever goes beyond the limit of drinking, that man no longer
Is master of his own tongue or of his mind;
He talks recklessly, saying things which the sober find disgraceful,
And feels no shame in any action when he is drunk,
A man of sound sense before, and now a fool. But you,
Understanding these things, should not drink to excess,
But either stand up and leave before you get drunk -- don't let your belly
Overpower you as if you were a base laborer hired by the day --
Or else stay put and refrain from drinking. But no, 'Pour me another'
Is what you keep idly chattering, and that's why you get drunk.
For one cup comes around in the name of friendship, another on a bet;
Another you pour out as a libation for the gods, another you keep on hand,
And you do not know how to refuse. That man is truly invincible,
Who though he has drunk many cups says nothing foolish.
As for the rest of you, take care in what you say as you linger around the wine bowl,
Steering well clear of quarrels with one another,
Speaking in a way that any may hear, whether you address one or all together.
Conducted in this way, a drinking-party proves far from unpleasant.

Don't Ever Drink And Drive

I never thought about accidents,
When I drove my souped up car,
I thought I was invincible,
Admired from afar.

There was no one else could touch me,
Those others could only dream.
When I had that drink in me,
My God was I was supreme,

I always took a drink or two,
Before getting behind the wheel,
Alcohol gives you confidence,
It enhances the way you feel.

I didn't need to drink too much,
Just enough to get me by,
Laws were made to be broken,
To me they don't apply.

Nobody would accompany me,
Which always made me think,
Are they scared because I drive so fast,
Or because I drive with drink.

I thought my friends admired me,
They'd say I was over zealous,
Their comments only made me think,
That they were all just jealous.

Little did I realise then,
My actions made them frown,
Instead of being their hero,
I was looked on as a clown.

Driving with a drink in me,
Had never held any fears,
I never gave it a second thought,
That it would all end in tears.

I drove down to the bar one night,
Then I sat and had a few,
I came out and jumped behind the wheel,
I'd show them what I could do.

As I sped along the highway,
Here was I the king,
I thought I was immortal,
What more could my life bring.

Just then there was a mighty crash,
What in Gods name had I done,
There was blood and gore everywhere,
This was no longer fun.

As I left my car I froze with fear,
There were bodies all around,
They were all lying lifeless,
Not one of them made a sound.

I knew I had to run away,
What a low down skunk, ,
I knew that I'd be sent to jail,
For driving whilst drunk.

Just then the police approached me,
I didn't know what to say,
They told me I'd caused total carnage,
For that there'd be a price to pay.

Tonight there'll be families grieving,
What you've done they won't forgive,
Because of your selfish actions,
Their kin no longer live.

Those parents have lost their children,
Yes it's solely down to me,
A thoughtless drunken lowlife,
So I beg you all to see.

Our actions have a consequence,
Some good while others bad,
To drive with just one drink in you,
Is totally and utterly mad.

Families are left distraught with grief,
Because I just didn't care,
I chose to drive while I was drunk,
Now they're left in despair.

Millions do it every day,
They don't give it a second thought,
It really only hits you,
'' WHEN '', not if you're caught.

I'm lucky, I'm in prison now,
Alive and in my bed,
My victims weren't so fortunate,
Five of them are dead.

It's too late to say I'm sorry now,
But while I'm still alive,
Please listen to my plea to you,

‘' Don't Ever Drink And Drive''.

When I was young
I watched the cars
When I was older
I drank in bars
When I was young
I chewed the leaves
When I was older
I drank with thieves
I found a love
She gave me dreams
She left me drunk
In new orleans
So cold and lonely
So all alone
I wished my heart
Was made of stone
I took the cold bright needle
I used it as a sword
My eyes have seen the glory of
The coming of the lord
I burned across the delta
I swam across the ford
My eyes have seen the glory of
The coming of the lord
When I was a young man
Standing on this road
My empty belly
An aching hole
An old man said to me
Kid dont you know
That its the same
Wherever you go
I gambled in two graveyards
I won against the odds
With the smiling saints
And the silent saviours
With the maggots and the gods
I cursed the things they showed me
I could never see again
And the howling of the wind at night
I wrote upon the rain
I found the thing
For which I prayed
And came back home
To the usa
With a heart of stone
And now I know
That its the same
Wherever you go

Without A Few Good Laughs A Day

Success is only really what does matter if you go by with what most people do say
But life it would surely be very boring without a few good laughs a day
If you cannot laugh you're in trouble some even find it hard to smile
There are people with heaps of money who feel living life scarce worth-while
One has to feel sympathy for them their gift of life they don't enjoy
When they buy presents for their young child they buy the most expensive toy
Yet their money cannot make them happy they live their lives burdened by care
It Doesn't mean you will be happy when you become a millionaire
The praises of the rich and famous so many feel happy to sing
But if money could make people happy then money would buy everything
Unhappiness some people are born with and 'tis something money cannot cure
But I'd rather be wealthy and unhappy than being poor and miserable though the choice is a poor one for sure
If money could solve all of our problems then our biggest problem would be small
But money cannot buy you happiness and that's the greatest gift of all.

Breathe

Two men
They started walking
Started talking bout better days
One says to the other
We do it all again
Seems I knew I would
And now I found it
Found I got it
I didn't want this
Somebody help me see
Now I feel it
Feel like I've been there
I didn't need this
Somebody help me breathe

Here we are again
Just face to facing
Each other another day
Who wins
Well who cares
It always ends up the same
Seems I knew I would

And now I found it
Found I got it
I didn't want this
Somebody help me see
And now I feel it
Feel that I've been there
I didn't need this
Would Somebody help me stand
And now I've told them
Already warned them
I didn't want this
Somebody help me breathe

If I was them
Then I wanna be
What I see
If I could drag my life in a moment
Wanna know do you want me to go
Gonna keep it all from ending
Never stop myself from pretending
That you always knew that I never could

All I ever really wanted was to be the same
Equal treatment never ever comes
and there they go again
All I ever really wanted was to be like you
So perfect
So worthless
If i could take it all back think again
I would

And now I found it
Found I got it
I didn't want this
Somebody help me see
Now I feel it
Feel that I've been there
I didn't need this
Somebody help me stand
And now I've told them
I didn't want this
I didn't need this
Would somebody help me breathe
Would somebody help me breathe
Would somebody help me?

I'm sorry for my suicidal note...

Good bye, Good luck, and I'm sorry
The bloods rushing to fast
I can't plug it
So now I will chug it
And my pills are blocking my door

Don't wait, Say goodbye, and I'm sorry
It's filling my empty stomach
I saw my life
Gave into my strife
And the bottle is my only resolve

Don't stop me, Don't cry, and I'm sorry
Wait,
now I'm going triple fold
The knife is now in my hold
As I rake this across my skin

It's okay, Don't look back, and I'm sorry
It tastes just as nasty as you said
I wrote this note
Thinking you needed a coat
But I guess I'm still leaving you cold

I'm fine, Stop listening, and I'm sorry
I guess it was as bad as you thought
As I closed my door
And scattered my instruments on the floor
I know I will never sing anymore

Don't worry, I can't tell you, and I'm sorry
All my secrets you will never know
As I scream silently
And give up finally
And the blood coats the carpet

Don't give up, It's not worth it, and I'm sorry
I guess all my advice was useless
I ended up losing
And ended up choosing
The death of a lost and stupid soul

Don't try, I'm not listening, and I'm sorry
I wanted to give to the world
But now I'll be dead
Already in my head
And I'm almost done with suicide note

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry
My visions starting to blur
I must hurry and write
And with with all my might
End this suicidal note

I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry
I don't see that vision of light
I guess God's left me, that's fair
And I must despair
Now the torture, I guess, must begin

I'm truly sorry, truly sorry, truly sorry
My hands feel so numb and dead
I must leave soon
I'm headed toward my doom
I think life still wasn't worth this

Forgive me, I'm sorry, forgive me....
I must say I'm sorry you've found me
But the sky is stil as starry
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry
So please, tell everyone I'm so sorry

This was written by me, but I'm close, but I havent totally given up, this is just what I'm thinking....

Tale Of Woe

Hey Mom;
I took your advice
And I didn’t even drink a drop
But my friends are too drunk to know
So I took responsibility, and I drove that group home,
But Mom, someone didn’t listen to your words of wisdom
And that driver hit the car head on.

Now I’m lying in the street
In an pool of my own blood
Mom I need you; Mom I want you; Mom can you help?
The pain is just so agonizing
Do you think doctors can save me?
Oh Mom, please don’t let me die
I’m too young to never see the light of day again,
I’ve always dreaded my day of death
And now Mom I lay here in my tomb
Just like a baby in the mother’s womb.

I can feel the tears of many, hit the floor.
But Mom that drunken man is still alive,
So how come he is and not I?
He didn’t even bother to shed a single tear;
And Mom I never really got the chance to express it,
I really do regret, but I really do love you.

And now that I’m laid to rest,
Tell everyone to live their best,
Because life’s too short, take that from me
I was hit by a car,
Because a drunk man left the bar,
And even though I didn’t drink a drop,
I’m the one dead, not him.

So now I say goodbye to the ones I love, and the ones I never knew
And my life was just the tale of Juliet, and her beloved Romeo
Because it ends in tragic woe.

Be Drunk

You have to be always drunk. That's all there is to it--it's the
only way. So as not to feel the horrible burden of time that breaks
your back and bends you to the earth, you have to be continually
drunk.
But on what?Wine, poetry or virtue, as you wish. But be
drunk.
And if sometimes, on the steps of a palace or the green grass of
a ditch, in the mournful solitude of your room, you wake again,
drunkenness already diminishing or gone, ask the wind, the wave,
the star, the bird, the clock, everything that is flying, everything
that is groaning, everything that is rolling, everything that is
singing, everything that is speaking. . .ask what time it is and
wind, wave, star, bird, clock will answer you:"It is time to be
drunk! So as not to be the martyred slaves of time, be drunk, be
continually drunk! On wine, on poetry or on virtue as you wish."

Ice Burns

Let the ice burn upon my skin.
Oh how I need to feel it yet again.
Yeah get inside my head.
Twist and turn me from the outside in.
You don't have to manipulate me baby.
I'm more then willing.
In the heart you think your stealing.

Maybe that's what I wanted, with the pain you tried to deliver.
Sorry but you lost a friend.
I warned you from the start.
Before we went any farther.
Attachments, have to be numbed.

Let the ice burn upon my skin.
Oh how I need to feel it yet again.
Yeah get inside my head.
Twist and turn me from the outside in.
You don't have to manipulate me baby.
I'm more then willing.
In the heart you think your stealing.

But what is it you really think, your feeling.
With tears in your eyes you say goodbye.
You met the white knight.
And now you meet the black knight.
I warned you that we shouldn't go that way but you do not listen.
I can't be a friend to someone who so easily can rip some ones heart out.

Let the ice burn upon my skin.
Oh how I need to feel it yet again.
Yeah get inside my head.
Twist and turn me from the outside in.
You don't have to manipulate me baby.
I'm more then willing.
In the heart you think your stealing.

What is done is done.
So I had to walk away.
Pretending it was okay.
Accepting my own self inflicted wounds.
No tears in my eyes, but still it aches.
So I have to be cold.
This has grown old.

Let the ice burn upon my skin.
Oh how I need to feel it yet again.
Yeah get inside my head.
Twist and turn me from the outside in.
You don't have to manipulate me baby.
I'm more then willing.
In the heart you think your stealing

A warning from him but I already new.
Be done with you.
Another wasted sacrifice.
It meant nothing but caused so much pain.
Like nails on a chalk board.
It drives me insane.

Let the ice burn upon my skin.
Oh how I need to feel it yet again.
Yeah get inside my head.
Twist and turn me from the outside in.
You don't have to manipulate me baby.
I'm more then willing.
In the heart you think your stealing

You cheated and I know.
A confrontation we had.
He said he didn't do it, but I knew it.
He didn't care, and neither did I.
I attacked him at my front door.
By bringing that women right to my home.
That was the last night I ever spent with her.

Let the ice burn upon my skin.
Oh how I need to feel it yet again.
Yeah get inside my head.
Twist and turn me from the outside in.
You don't have to manipulate me baby.
I'm more then willing.
In the heart you think your stealing.

What would you do in my shoes?
If she wanted to be suddenly wanted to be just friends right after you heard about him.
So be it, I'm done with you.
I can't be friends with such a person.
Sell you soul girl I don't even care.

Let the ice burn upon my skin.
Oh how I need to feel it yet again.
Yeah get inside my head.
Twist and turn me from the outside in.
You don't have to manipulate me baby.
I'm more then willing.
In the heart you think your stealing

I wouldn't even dare, at a betrayal to myself.
You crossed the line.
Hope you survive.
Upon your families money.
Never holding your own.
Claiming to be all alone.

Let the ice burn upon my skin.
Oh how I need to feel it yet again.
Yeah get inside my head.
Twist and turn me from the outside in.
You don't have to manipulate me baby.
I'm more then willing.
In the heart you think your stealing.

Bring him, and watch him steal everything.
You did it already before.
The broken door.
Hurt me once more.
Let me not be that man.
Let it end before it begins.

Let the ice burn upon my skin.
Oh how I need to feel it yet again.
Yeah get inside my head.
Twist and turn me from the outside in.
You don't have to manipulate me baby.
I'm more then willing.
In the heart you think your stealing.

Lost Horizons

The last horizons I can see are filled with bars and factories
And in them all we fight to stay awake...
Drink enough of anything to make this world look new again
Drunk drunk drunk in the gardens and the graves
She had nothing left to say so she said she loved me
I stood there grateful for the lie...
Drink enough of anything to make this girl look new again
Drunk drunk drunk in the gardens and the graves
Turn summer trees to bones and ice
Turn insect songs against the night
With words we build and words we break
Im drunk drunk drunk in the gardens and the graves...
Drink enough of anything to make myself look new again
Drunk drunk drunk in the gardens and the graves
