The Festivity
The Festivity
The party has ended they have all gone home, the house sighs,
I open windows cooling air clears away the smell of perfume
and full ashtrays. Wine glasses everywhere on tables, shelves
on the floor. Empties have to be thrown in the bin, and glasses
have to be cleaned and put back in the cupboard. Got to do it
now, I don’t want to be faced with this task tomorrow morning.
I’m glad they came to my day; glad to be alone also; sad too.
I’m one year older and time seems so short, the ocean of life is
not endless and the horizon ends just beyond where the sun
goes down.

Broken Glasses (2)
It's all broken glasses falling on the floor
Piece by piece breaking even more
One becoming two with each and every blow
A tree of glasses will never grow
Broken glasses on the floor
A million pieces becoming more
Each piece alone starts to shine
As though each one were becoming alive
A million pieces lie on the floor
Broken glasses broken to the core
They make me cry with their silence alone
As though they believe that all hope is gone
And the light that shines on the edge of a piece
Is like an un-witnessed tear of the pain unseen
As though when the pieces stop falling
All the glasses stop fighting
And chose to shine no more
Broken glasses falling on the floor
What can I say what have I more
Broken glasses I adore
Like a silent heart beat being ignored
Broken glasses are alive
Broken glasses are the life
Of a character broken deep inside

Cute small glasses [Drăgălaşe păhărele]
Cute small glasses with short stem
Lay in front of me with joy,
Pour wine sweetish into them,
Do enjoy!
Let us drink up without fear,
If one hates it, let him say,
And instead to have some beer,
Drink your way!
Who gets dizzy and can't think
On the floor may start to creep,
And when glasses break or clink,
Let them sleep!
Let's cut short the talking then,
Life is brief, life is forlorn,
So, let's drink until again
Comes the morn.

Just Got Back
Words and music by rick nielsen
Well just got back
Been gone too long
Wasnt my idea, didnt pull the trigger
Oh oh oh I i I Im just so glad
Im just so glad to be back home, yeah
I just got back
Been a long long time
Wasnt my idea, didnt point the finger
Oh oh oh I i I Im just so glad
Im just so glad to go home
You run the risk of falling
With some solitary sam
Ive sailed the seven sins a poly-future plan

Isnt really what it seems
This aint committee art
My god, is it a dream?
I just got back
I been asleep too long
Wasnt my idea what the doctor figured
Oh oh oh I i I Im just so glad
Im just so glad, Im just so glad, Im just so glad
To be back home
No no no no no no no no

The Party Is Over
when the party is over
you will be alone again
on some leftovers
and stained mantels
empty wine glasses
with some respect
for drops unconsumed
tables with some
morsels and crumbs
her perfume
sticking to the curtains
his smoke
clinging to glass
ash trays
the feigned affections
cliched by this
outdated display
of overused hugs
and kisses
the laughter that
reverberates
practically nothing
when they all leave
one by one like
trickles of moderate
rains
you are still asking
about your relevance
you are very drunk
and so you sleep

I empty myself of the smell of others. I empty my bags.
I empty my glasses and leave them beside the sink
At night I turn back the alarm;
I open the ref and look at myself as a hungry man
It does me no good. The nights have done their task.
I say your name. I say hello.
The verbs do not follow each other up road
I love my wife. I keep her in the house.
My parents still hide in their graves
into the foggy corners of the hills. How can I be silent?
History reminds me who I am. I am unchanged, i am still
the same man in town.
I get rid of my life
and everything remains the same.

Drink Yer Glasses Empty
Listen up and Ill tell you what youll do
Forget about music and alcohol to
Forget about yer baby, weve got other work for you
Better drink yer glasses empty now, its time to rise n shine
Theres one less cause in the world to be leavin for
It was back in 39 when I was one year old
Sitting by the backyard fence and the world had turned to cold
Drink yer glasses empty now was all that they were told
Drink yer glasses girls and boys, its time to hit the sky
To the tune of thunder, theres no time to wonder why
Wed love to take life over, that is plain
Forget about sorrow, forget about pain
And watch a john wayne movie to remind us once again
Better drink yer glasses empty now, its time to hit the line
You got one less cause in the world to be leavin for
Drink yer glasses girls and boys, its time to hit the sky
To the tune of thunder, theres a tear in every eye
Id like to take things one at a time
Forget about reason, forget about rhyme
Because beg, steal, or borrow you got another hill to climb
So drink yer glasses empty now, its time to hit the road
Theres one less cause in the world to be leavin for
Drink yer glasses girls and boys, its time to hit the sky
To the tune of thunder, theres no time to wonder why
Wed like to take life over again
When time of war had passed away into the rain
And watch a john wayne movie to remind us of the planes
Just drink yer glasses empty now, its time to rise n shine
Theres one less cause in the world to be leavin for

Be Glad God Is
Be glad that God is truth and light
Through Christ we have His strength to fight
Be glad we have His gift to pray
That still He calls to those astray
Be glad, that God is not like me
Before He came to set me free
Before my life had seen the change
Where now to self I’m often strange
Be glad that God is not like us
Such trivial things we make a fuss
The food we eat the clothes we wear
But not of that we have to share
Be glad that God is not like you
Too short of sight to share His view
For Heaven's Lord is pure divine
Pouring out love like common wine
Be glad that God is not like they
Who sit puffed up, who waste the day
Who know it all and then some-more
Be glad it’s God who keeps the score
Be glad, that God is not like she
To shake or stir she can’t agree
Though God sends forth His Dove as guide
Heaven or hell she can’t decide
Be glad that God is not like him
Who’s cup has evil to the brim
The devil thought Christ Jesus less
So don’t give Darkness your address
Be glad that God is God indeed
He meets in life our every need
Perfect in love forever true
My God I’m glad that You are You.

So you went to a party at Jacqualine Onassis
If you're so amart why don't you wear glasses
So you can see what you're doin' to me
So you can see what you're doin' to me
So you can see what tomorrow might bring
Underneath your breath you know I heard you cussin'
You were talkin' to my second cousin
Were you talkin' about me
Were you talkin' about me
You better put on your glasses so you can see
So you can see what tomorrow might bring
Can your daddy get us backstage passes
You know that we love to dance
Can your daddy give us backstage passes
With all his political power
With all his political power
It seems to me like you could dance better than you do
So you went to a party at Jacqualine Onassis
If you're so smart why don't you wear glasses
So you can see what the future might bring
So you can see what tomorrow might be

I'm so glad
I'm so glad
I'm glad, I'm glad, I'm glad
I'm so glad

I'm glad, I'm glad, I'm glad
Don't know what to do
Don't know what to do
Don't know what I'm gonna do
Another week in
Telephoning
Tired of groaning for you
I'm so glad
I'm so glad
I'm glad, I'm glad, I'm glad
I'm so glad

About a poem
You filled the glasses
Words into glasses glass made drops
Golden pots for a thunder-like
‘Drink’ of big silences
You filled the glasses
On the tables across the earth
Meanings laid walking on debris
You filled the glasses
Like hours into a sandclock
The sand upon which
You write up the names
Glass made drops
You write up the scars of a sip
Drunk you plough and keep ploughing
Over the dreams you spill

Dr. Demento's 15th Anniversary Special
In the year of 1970
Underneath the old smogberry tree
First was heard a man that we all know
The one and only dr. demento
Nixon, ford, and carter, reagan too
Remember all they did and didn't do
Through it all, one consistency
Spending once a week with dr. d
So wind your radios way up tight
Raise your glasses high tonight
Like wine, his spirit has fermented
So here's to him, the one who stays demented
Changes come, seasons pass
Like alice through the looking glass
He shares a world of madness that we cheer
For fifteen roly poly years.
So wind your radios way up tight
Raise your glasses high tonight
Like wine, his spirit has fermented
So here's to him, the one who stays demented
Don't forget to stay demented
Everybody sing
He has a very friendly, fuzzy face
And nobody could ever take his place
His fans around the globe will never dwindle
'cause he fits so many records on his spindle
Stacks of laughing wax from floor to ceiling
Well, it gives him such a warm internal feeling
Whether you're italian or egyptian
He's bound to fill your musical prescription
Wind your radios way up tight
Raise your glasses high tonight
Like wine, his spirit has fermented
So here's to him, the one who stays demented
Wind your radios way up tight
Raise your glasses high tonight
Like wine, his spirit has fermented
So here's to him, the one who stays demented
In the year of 1970
Underneath the old smogberry trees

1968 Talking About the Revolution
I took off my glasses
that I might see
I took off my shoes
that I might be
The one I was in search of
The one I never had
The one that by finding
I would be so glad
I took off my watch
so I wouldn't know the time
I took off to nature
hoping to find the sign
The one I was in search of
The one I never had
The one that by finding
I would be so glad
I started to take of my clothes
I thought the last distraction
Then luckily I realized - - -
This is just a poem- - - an abstraction

Home with a Soul
As you enter through the door,
And slowly step into the foyer,
You can’t help but exclaim,
Oh I am so glad I came.
The house was serene and vibrant,
I noticed as I sat in an instant.
It was decorated with love and care
To detail, with mix of modern and ethnic ware.
It didn’t seem to scream,
Please don’t touch me.
In the corner, a candle floated in an urn
The floor was adorned with a rangoli pattern.
It had quite a lived in look,
The shelves were lined with knick knacks and books.
Soft evening light was coming from outside
The view from the terrace was soothing to the eyes.
The breeze was tinkling the wind chimes
A little bird house hung from the pipe.
The fresh aroma of coffee
Wafted, as I gushingly complimented,
The hostess for creating such an ambience,
With the right mix of bright and muted colours.
Your home really has a soul, I said
Thanks, I am glad you feel so relaxed.
The sound of children came from a distance
Soon the house was full of guests
Each home has its distinct aura and energy,
Here I felt in a state of Zen and found rare synergy.

He Wore Dark Sun glasses
The sun it was not shining and dark gray were the skies
Yet he wore dark sun glasses for to conceal his eyes
From the gaze of other people what was he trying to hide
Since to the mirror of his soul daylight he had denied.
Or maybe his eyes are sensitive to light so dark glasses at all times he must wear
Since seeing one wearing dark glasses on a cloudy morning is quite rare
In sunny weather many wear dark glasses to save their eyes from the sun's glare
On bright and warm Summer days of the sun one must beware.
This morning in the wind and rain it did seem strange to me
A young man wearing dark sun glasses out walking I did see
On such an overcast day sunglasses did seem out of place
If you cannot see a person's eyes you cannot memorize their face.
He may have eyes sensitive to light and have to wear dark glasses every day
But when I said hello to him he had nothing to say
If you cannot see a person's eyes to you that person a stranger remain
And I would not recognize his face were I to see him again.

Deck The Halls
Christmas comes just once a year (i got a baby doll)
With all its yuletide joy and cheer (i got a football)
But there's one thing i'd like to say...
Is that i hate christmas day (i got a rock!)
It's time for everybody to have a christmas party
Everyone but me i'll step outside boycott your office party
No secret santa for me
Mistletoe makes me sneeze anyway
Cuz i don't wanna go, where happy days are snow
I'd rather stay where frosty melts in the sun
July 4 parade
A lynchburg lemonade
An alcohol a day by the pool in the sun (now everybody sing)
Chorus
Deck the halls with bells of holly
'tis the season to be jolly but,
I hate christmas i'm glad it only comes one time a year
Its time for everybody to head out christmas shopping
Everyone but me i'll stay inside
No presents under your tree that have a nametag for me
And it makes my gifts so easy to hide i don't wanna go where shopping lines are slow
I rather stay at home with the frosty cold one
A bud on ice in may, a lazy summer day
An alcohol a day by the pool in the sun (now everybody sing)
Chorus
Deck the halls with bells of holly
'tis the season to be jolly but,
I hate christmas i'm glad it only comes one time a year
It was the night before christmas and all through the house
All the creatures was chillin like flint drinkin stout
I woke from my sleep, heard 'here comes the boom'
I knew that santa would be comin' soon
On dascher on donner, commit, on blitzen
I yelled 'shut up ya'll,' but they wouldn't listen
And then he came down with his belly of jello
He says "where the ladies at cuz i'm a real jolly fellow"
Then he gave me a wink and was quick out of sight
Merry christmas to all, and to all a super deeky duper fly night
Chorus
Deck the halls with bells of holly
'tis the season to be jolly but,
I hate christmas i'm glad it only comes one time a year
Chorus
Deck the halls with bells of holly
'tis the season to be jolly but,
I hate christmas i'm glad it only comes one time a year

to the artist of Endelicio
i
the tall man in his sixties
when we enter your house
says that shattered glasses
are bad for feng shui
ii
your garden chair is a mosaic
of broken glasses matching with
your lampshade of broken bottles
and your floors of broken tiles
iii
it is cruel to hear that they
view you not as an artist but
a mad man
iv
you in your gray hair and thin
structure and old skin
looks decent enough for me
and struggling with all your
art works, paintings, sculptures
paper mache and stuffed animals
v
outside a gray cat is basking its
body under the morning sun
on a stone bench beside the
banana trees
vi
i take a lot of pictures of all your
stuff
and this is the first time that i
have met you
having heard of your name and your
cafe cum gallery
a long time ago
vii
back to the shattered glasses and broken
bottle and tiles
and sculptures of mother earth
and man and emaciated natives
sometimes i ponder that if i were in your shoes
will i do the same?

Im Glad
Baby when I think about (about about),
The day that we first met (the day that we first met),
Wasnt looking for what I found,
But I found you,
And Im bound to,
Find happiness in being around you,
Im glad when Im making love to you,
Im glad for the way you make me feel,
I love it cause you seem to blow my mind..every-time,
Im glad when we walk you hold my hand,
Im glad that ya know how to be a man,
Im glad that you came into my life,
Im soo glad,
I dig the way that you get down (you get down for bout),
And you still know how to hold me (and you still know how to hold me),
A perfect blend, masculine (I think I know now)
I think Im in love, damn finally,
Im glad when Im making love to you,
Im glad for the way you make me feel,
I love it cause you seem to blow my mind..every-time,
Im glad when we walk you hold my hand,
Im glad that ya know how to be a man,
Im glad that you came into my life,
Im soo glad,
Im glad,
That you,
Turned out,
To be,
That certain someone special who makes this life worth living,
Im glad,
Your here,
Just loving me...
So say that you wont leave,
Cause since the day you came Ive been glad,
Im glad when Im making love to you,
Im glad for the way you make me feel,
I love it cause you seem to blow my mind..everytime,
Im glad when we walk you hold my hand,
Im glad that ya know how to be a man,
Im glad that you came into my life,
Im soo glad,

Murder Scene
Implements of a Murder:
The smoking gun,
the silken rope, and
other cliches
Watching a play
in which murder is
the motive for
carrying on w/
all manner of
bad behavior
A dinner party
where red wine is
served in crystal
glasses- light
caught within the
reddened spheres,
Casting the color
of the wine in
wide ovals
on the floor
The wine appearing
later in the part of
Bloodstains on the Carpet:
justifying its existence as
