Rainbow Coalition

Rainbow Coalition

On the border between Chile from Argentina
there is a long barbed wire fence full of plastic
bags, some from posh shops in Paris, London
and New York, There are Japanese bags too
and some with Arabic letters, you can say it is
international garbage fence, but not quite, it is
eerily beautiful like a pale sad rainbow.

There used to be skeletons here too they all had
broken bones as dropped from planes, but
they have been removed now if you are lucky
or ghoulish you might find a collar bone or two
or a skull cleans by the wind; indestructibly sacks
flap, so deafening that you can’t hear the song of
the condors.

Colours Of The Rainbow

COLOURS OF THE RAINBOW

There is something i need to say
its been so long i have waited for today
i have seen all the colours of the rainbow
as i watched the sky through my window
but i cant be happy with just that
i wanna live those colours feel them in my heart

i am packing my bags and hittin the runway
dont hold my hand and ask me to stay
i have the colours of the rainbow in my eye
its all i really need to survive

i cant go on behind these four walls
i wanna live and feel it all
dont worry if i fall and bleed
with time it shall all heal

i am no longer the little girl you knew
the girl who always came home to you
i am going beyond these walls and this town
walking into the chaos and the crowd

please dont tell me what to do
you know i really do love you
but its time i make my own mistake
i know i will get through all the heartbreak

i am packing my bags and hitting the runway
you know i will make it through someday
i will fly through the highs and dig through the lows
and i know i will find the colours of the rainbow

i feel the wind calling me
goodbye......its time to leave....

Broken Fence

This fence is a token of you.
A line dividing everything,
In two, by you.
A line of wood, to gaze over.
A wire to watch through.
Barbed wire pushing us apart,
This fence is a token of you.
Separating the past, the future.

Morning Rain

Unscrew your face from the laptop screen,
See the people, the places in your, magazine,
They're a bigheaded bunch, d'ya know what I mean,
Someone made them out of plastercine,
Chorus
I'm the morning rain,
It's me again, I wont go away,
I'm the morning rain,
It's me again, I wont, go, a, way.
Come down off your barbed wire fence,
What you're saying sounds stupid, makes know sense,
It may be used later in your defence,
It may be used later as, evidence for the
Chorus
Undo your head from the sink plug chain,
Unscrew the cheap wine, and drink like a drain,
You may never want to waltz again,
You may never want to walk away from the
Chorus
Pack your bags, your rooms for let,
They're putting up the barricades and laying off all bets,
I've never seen so many people, smoke so many cigarettes,
Pack your bags now, your room for rent.....
Chorus

Wind In The Wire

I've been riding fence all day,
Way up on the summer range.
Found a place to make my bed
As the evening shadows spread
Beyond the campfire light,
In the stillness of night,
Came the call of a coyote choir,
And the song
Of the wind in the wire.
As it strummed the rusted strings,
It sang of long-forgotten things.
Many moons and many suns
Of the real Americans.
When the arrow and the bow
Stalked the range
Of the buffalo,
And the call of the coyote choir
Knew no song
Of the wind in the wire.
As the ghostly balladeer
Hypnotized me, I could hear
Bugle calls, and battle cries.
Broken promises and lies.
The spirits of the plain
Still sing their sad refrain
In the call of the coyote choir
And the song
Of the wind in the wire.

You've Been Booted So Scoot

Mismatchd mates fight.
In arguments..
Over who did what wrong.
Inspite of who is right.

And which one makes more sense...
To convince the one incensed!
Both are stubborn infidels,
Yelling to end a relationship...
That has been sitting precariously,
On a dubious fence.

While anyone listening in on this,
Wishes they both shut up.
And seal their lips.
Instead of making loud noises.
And breaking up stuff in fits.

Anyone listening to this nonsense sits down.
Or creeps to the wall without making a sound.
To hear very carefully...
With hopes the floor doesn't creek.
As they tip toe around...
To get their ears close as possible,
To what is near...
And going down!

'I saw you cheating on me,
With that home wrecker living across the street.
If you believe that sleaze is better...
You can get up from here and leave.'

~You aint my momma or my poppa.
Stop trying to control everything I do.
I'm not the one pleasured in midnight specials.
The dogs and cats know that rat is you! ~

*ooo...ssshhh.
This is juicy.*

~You don't have the authority,
To tell me what I can't do.
I will do what I please!
Your booty aint that good to screw! ~

*Lawd!
Now YOU know...
When the booty aint right,
That starts a fight.
ooo...this is juicy*

~If anyone here is going to get up and leave...
You're the one that's going to do it.
And if you don't,
I'll call the police.

And when they arrive...
I'll lie to say you've been hitting on me.~

*Lie-uh! *

~Pack your bags!
I've had it.
Pack your bags!
I've had it.
Pack your bags!
I've had it.
You've been booted,
So scoot.

Pack.
Your.
Bags...
I've had it.
Pack your bags!
I've had it.
Pack your bags!
I've had it.
You've been booted,
So scoot.

There is nothing to revisit.
And there is nothing to renew.

So pack.
Your.
Bags...
I've had it.
Pack your bags!
I've had it.
Pack your bags!
I've had it.
You've been booted,
So scoot.

There is nothing to revisit.
And there is nothing to renew.
You and and I are finished...
And that door you're going through!
So pack.
Your.
Bags...
I've had it.
Pack your bags!
I've had it.
Pack your bags!
I've had it.
You've been booted,
So scoot!

You don't have to bother,
To put on your shoes.
Just pack your bags.
I've had it.
Get up and get out.
You've been booted,
So scoot! ~

*Don't you dare!
I wont get this excitement anywhere.*

**Horace...
Will you come from over there,
And sit down!
You are worse than you say,
My nosy friends are! **

*Sssshhh...*

Skeletons In The Closet

Woah-oh, woah-oh
Skeletons in my closet
Woah-oh, woah-oh yeah
Skeletons in my closet
Skeletons in my closet
Skeletons in my shoes
Skeletons I can only see
I said woah-oh, woah-oh
I got skeletons in my closet
I said woah-oh, woah-oh yeah
Skeletons in my closet
Skeletons I can lose
Skeletons in my basement
Loitering on my streets
Wearing my best pajamas
Sandwiched between my sheets
I said woah-oh, woah-oh yeah
Skeletons in my closet
I said woah-oh, woah-oh yeah
Skeletons in my closet
Ooh, I see bones
I see bones, icy bones
Ooh, I see bones
Say say bones - say boys don't you see them bones?
Rattle them bones at midnight
Shaking my bed, no sleep
I find fingers in my coat pocket
Skeletons from the deep
I said woah-oh, woah-oh
I got skeletons in my closet
I said woah-oh, woah woah-oh
I got skeletons in my closet
Ooh, I see bones
I see bones, s-see bones
Ooh, I see bones
I see bones
Say boys don't you see them bones?
No?
Heart bones, leg bones, ankle bones, arm bones,
finger bones, dogie bones, head bones
Skeletons in my closet
They even know when I'm in my closet
It's my.. my closet
Not your closet
My closet
You can have it though
Alice we want you
Alice
Alice
A-Alice
What?
Whaddya want

Sitting On A Barbed-wire Fence

I paid fifteen million dollars, twelve hundred and seventy-two cents
I paid one thousand two hundred twenty-seven dollars and fifty-five cents
See my hound dog bite a rabbit
And my footballs sittin on a barbed-wire fence
Well, my temperature rises and my feet dont walk so fast
Yes, my temperature rises and my feet dont walk so fast
Well, this arabian doctor came in, gave me a shot
But wouldnt tell me if what I had would last
Well, this woman Ive got, shes filling me with her drive
Yes, this woman Ive got, shes thrillin me with her hive
Shes calling me stan
Or else she calls me mister clive
Of course, youre gonna think this song is a riff
I know youre gonna think this song is a cliff
Unless youve been inside a tunnel
And fell down 69, 70 feet over a barbed-wire fence
All night!

Hello, Rainbow!

Rainbow, Rainbow
that was her nickname.
A name she had obtained,
for all the colors she'd appreciate.
Rainbow, Rainbow
that was her calling
to come out in style to show the worlds vibrant.
Rainbow, Rainbow
they laughed at her colors
said she was different
not normal like others.
Rainbow, Rainbow
they took her as a joke.
Just a mere girl looking for attention you know?
Rainbow, Rainbow
lover of rain
not a care in the world of what other people say.
Rainbow, Rainbow
she started too change
The world saw her brightly
now shes all black and grey.
Rainbow, Rainbow
why goes this way.
We've all secretly loved you.
So why not stay the same!
Rainbow, Rainbow
you bring us joy
You shed light too our day.
So go back to your ways
Rainbow, Rainbow
we appreciate your love!
We see differently now
so stay who you are.
Rainbow, Rainbow!
That's who I am.
A girl of 14
who is oddly at best.
Rainbow, Rainbow!
Everyone calls me that.
I'm just a use for you all
, but i don't mind that.
Rainbow, Rainbow
A mirror image I am.
A reflection of colors
that most people don't understand.
Rainbow, Rainbow
you called my name?
Why hello I'm here.
To shed light to your day

I am' poem

I am the dog bound by a collar
I wonder what is beyond this wooden fence
I hear the sound of cars in the distance
I see, through the cracks, people passing
I want to be free from this collar bound by chains
I am the dog bound by a collar

I pretend to be beyond the fence
I feel the grass between my paws
I touch the dirt beneith the grass
I worry of what will become of me
I cry in worry on a moonlit night
I am the dog bound be a collar

I understand the life of a dog
I say no to the life
I dream about leaving this yard
I try to leave, but fail
I hope that I, to, can be free from these chains
I am the dog bound by a collar.

Rainbow Road

I was born a dirt poor man
All my life Ive had hard working hands
But I sang my song as I carried my load
Cause I had a dream about rainbow
Rainbow road
Then one day a man came along
Heard me playing and singing my songs
He bought me clothes and paid up every debt I owed
Sent me on my way down rainbow
Rainbow road
Then one night a man with a knife
Pushed me till I had to take his life
Fast as falling all my friends were gone
That old judge traded me a sentence for a song
Now Im living with this ball and chain
I had to wear a number before they ever heard my name
And like the dream Im growing old
But we still sing about rainbow

Glorious rainbow
How lovely are your colours
I can sing to you rainbow
The rainbow of colors

I am sitting on a rainbow
I have this rainbow that no,
One can see

Are the most beautiful I've,
ever seen
How wonderful you are,
My beautiful rainbow

Fell like dancing under a.
rainbow
I see a rainbow
Come and paint my world.

Les't the colors warm my life.

Suitcases Don't Have Wings

Small bags big bags
Black bags white bags
Suitcases hey hey hey
For work and for play
Crammed full of things
Suitcases dont have wings
White bags black bags
Complete with one-way tags
Dragging us down
Ever closer to the ground
All the time they sing
Suitcases dont have wings
Big bags small bags
That behind us we drag
Past present and future
We cram so much in n' gotcha
We've been forgetting
suitcases dont have wings
All bags every bag
That we painfully drag
Drop them at jesus feet
Cause all ur needs he'll meet
Suitcases hey hey hey
They get in the way
Drop them if you want in
Suitcases dont have wings

My Dream of Iris

I dreamt I cast an overarching path
Of coloured scales
Thriving on the solar rays that play upon
The waning of the storm –

I’d thrown a filmy avenue to reconnect
Empyrean with humankind!

Elated, I flitted through refracted hues –
Those from watery spheres that
Fan the iridescent prism.

And more: shimmering sprites in dance atop the spray
Conveyed adieus to gods
Departing for their hallowed visitation…

I woke and pined anon,
Begging Iris: ‘Be so kind and

Take us on your wing to new endeavours –
Show that nothing in the ether tempers you!
And every time you render us a rainbow,
See it fires a lust for zest anew! ’

Art of Border

It could be a shield, it could be a cage
The safety sealant, the tying trap
The filter line, the block wall
Border, border, border

The sacred culture, the love crossing
The moral limit, the emotion frame
The rule control, the life permission
Border, border, border

The friction fight, the freedom cut
The bond mark, the fence crack
The counter side, the edge of touch
Border, border, border

Can you keep it as promise
Can you bridge it by hope
The song from deserted corner
Border, border, border

Allowing Us To Clear Our Heads

What I have done,
Personally...
To ensure the new neighbors,
Adhere to policies that have been in effect...
For many years,
Is to suggest and recommend...
Their children not smoke pot in the front yard.
Or put their trash on the curb,
For the garbage men to pick up the next day.

What I have done personally,
Is to show them how to put their trash...
In garbage bags FIRST.
And even though it has been slow for them to catch on,
The rest of the neighbors and myself...
Have agreed to meet the new residents,
In their backyard after midnight behind a closed and locked fence...
When all of the kids have been safely tied to their beds.
Allowing us to clear our heads and live together in peace.

'And you say you have a prescription for this? '

~I begged my doctor to find a medical need.~

Samsonite Man

I don't wanna do this over and over
(verse 1)
He's a man so full of style and grace
Any woman being impressed
Takes a smile and paints it on your face
Makes you feel like you've been blessed
Promises things so special
Seems to come right from a song
Soon as you begin to feel secure
Turn around and he is gone
(chorus)
Packing his bags, gotta go, gotta go
Packing his bags,gotta go
He's a Samsonite Man
(verse 2)
Maybe he is just a rollin stone
Wandering from here to there
Searching for a place to call his home
Wonder if he even cares
So many years of heartache and pain
That's all you seem to know him for
Is it you, or is it he to blame?
Whenever he walks out your door
(chorus)
Packing his bags, gotta go, gotta go
Packing his bags,gotta go
He's a Samsonite Man
Where you're always running to, away from me?
(bridge)
If the wind blows you in my direction
You'd come through the rendezvous
Forget about your good attention
Leave me lonely and confused
Mr.Samsonite pack a bag
That is my suggestion
From here on out you will be leaving
My discretion yeah
So I know the game baby
And it will never be the same (no no no no no)
cause now I got him
(chorus)
Packing his bags, gotta go, gotta go
Packing his bags, gotta go, gotta go
Packing his bags, gotta go, gotta go (Now you gotta go)
Packing his bags, gotta go (I can't take it no more)
Packing his bags, gotta go, gotta go (What do I love him for)
Packing his bags,gotta go
He's a Samsonite Man
Why don't you just go
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, woah woah yeah yeah
You can't hurt me no more baby
You can't touch me
You can't hurt me no more baby
Gotta go, gotta go
Pack your bag, pack it up
Gotta go, hit the road Jack
You ain't gotta go home, but you can get the hell outta here

Brown Paper Bag

Brown paper bag

Squalid incomplete

slumped to the side of the street

Like unwanted sacks of garbage

She left her track her smell

And like the brown paper bag

She had travelled well

She had a whole world in her head

Her first love

The man she wed

And the drink and the smoke

And the four o clock bloke

That returned with a bottle in a brown paper bag

And better days before

When she had carried her first round fruit

When the brown paper bag was waxed new

And he carried his bride to the door

Then the four o clock bloke

Full of stale wine and stale smoke

With a bottle in a brown paper bag

How he called her a hag

And that first punch to the floor

And the brown paper bags fell by her side

Crumpled and stained

And the liquor cans and the four o clock man

Who never spoke

Left her broke

Bones shattered in pieces

Flesh bare to the wind

Body out on the street

Skin tanned dirt brown

Hair matted locks

And two brown paper bags tied with string to her feet

The Double Rainbow

Once I saw a rainbow
Over the ocean blue
Encompassed by a shadow
Of every color and hue.
It was a double rainbow
Most beautiful to see
and underneath the rainbow
Were two sails upon the sea.
I think it was God's message
Quite old, and get still new
It takes both rain and sunshine
To make the lovely view.
As we go along life's highway
A lot of rain must fall.
But we can find the rainbow
When the sun shines over all.
So, if you feel discouraged
And don't know what to do
Just trust for God's own sunshine
To bring a rainbow over you.

Yes Sir I Killed My Dad

Yes sir I killed my dad
He was a jolly good chap never harmed a fly never took any crap
When I went out of line I was sure I would be getting a slap
He tended to me like rainbow in the sky
I was all he had and he was after all my dad
But what followed my friends as you know was sad
He fought two of them single handedly with out a weapon in his hand
Attacked from behind he held on as long as he could
Cried out for help beating the window pane
Some one saw him a fellow nice and sane
Banged the door open to see humanities hour of shame
He lay in a pool of blood as they tore his chest with a knife
This poor old man without a wife
Blood curdled on the floor splattered on the wall
He cried out for help and I was nowhere in sight
High on coke inebriated by with wine
As I sat down for dinner with that filthy swine
I was the reason I was the cause
As I sit back to think it over and take a pause
Yes sir I killed my dad

They came with plastic bags knives, saws and sacks
To cut him up into pieces to saw him up and carry him in bags
I should have been aware I should have seen through that
But I was in a haze to see through the maze
I still remember his eyes his soft gaze
My dad was one in a million that's for sure
I could have saved him but now he is no more
Yes sir I killed my dad
It's a story that is gory and so very sad
In which a son blames himself for killing his dad
Having been battered by the media
And hounded by the press
This is a story of a man in distress
Some say I was headed for it, some say I had it coming
But why did he suffer for my sin's I ask
You were his son you fool and it was his task
I owe my life to him which he sacrificed for me
So have no doubt my friends it was me who killed my dad
