My Landscape
My Landscape
Today, now as the weather is cooling, I went on my walk.
Hadn’t been here since June; simply because it gets to
hot to walk here in summers. The stony part of the track
was firm like walking on a cobblestoned street. The soft
part was like walking barefoot on a newly mowed lawn.
At the part where thorny bushes had made archway,
a tunnel of mystery, I hesitated. Needn’t have worried
the branches embraced me like a mother who’s young
son is coming home from the sea. When I stopped for
a rest under the tree where also sheep rest in the heat,
leaves, in perfectly still air, fell as confetti welcoming
the returning hero. How I love this odd landscape, once it
was tilled but now humanity have gone leaving the land
to its own devise and strange beauty.

The Amazement
The Amazement
The track I walked, in the thorny landscape, was full of loose
stones that kept coming up from ground trying to trip me up,
where the track narrowed amongst unkempt trees, boughs
tried to push me over, and in the undergrowth I heard snarls
of animals too vicious and hideous too appear in the flesh.
Overcast day and the wind that blew had ice on its breaths,
I shivered alone in the enmity of a landscape gone feral.
But I staggered on unwilling to give into phobias and fear,
suddenly stones went subversive and the path was soft as
a carpet, unseen animals disappeared and trees welcomed
me with fluttering leaves; even a love hungry zephyr
whispered sweet words. In a shimmering glade- smooth as
a rich man’s lawn- a plum tree, full of juicy fruit, I picked and
ate some; they tasted of magic and sweet marvel.
Dizzy with pleasure I sat on a stone, formed by ten million
years of rain, like a throne, saw sirens dance to Pan’s flute and
swim with sunrays and moon waves that hadn’t made it home
and had to wait for night, and mother moon to come pick them
up. Fell asleep when I woke up a boar, with her seven piglets,
drank water by the lake’s far shore. White clouds on blue, time
to go home and remember not speak of this to anyone.

Fade Away From Me
Fade Away From Me
Fading away from me,
Walking through the rain,
Never passing to remember the sun,
Never looking at the sky to remember the blue,
You only walk away from me,
And fade away.
The agony has left my mind,
All I can do is stand in silence,
As you leave me behind,
In a world of nothing,
Leaving me in the nothing that remains,
The hardest part is seeing you fade away.
Rain falls around me,
Hiding the pain of watching you walk into tomorrow,
As I stand trapped in today.
Tears fall invisible in the rain,
I feel them flowing down my cheeks rain cooling where they fall,
Yet you only fade away.
Nothing hurts me so than you walking past everything we knew,
As you say goodbye,
You were my everything and now I see you walking away,
Although it can not be helped,
It can not be stopped,
As you fade away.
I must accept that you could not stay,
Your time here was over,
And soon in heaven you will lay,
But still it hurts me so seeing you walking away,
Seeing that you have become a spirit of what was,
As I watch you fade to grey.

Human Puzzle
human are like puzzle
there's some part filling
and there's some part missing
so they can't help to fulfill each other
some part fit well
some part unconnected
but they never give up to try untill
some part falling
and some part making
they know there is always sacrifice
they know it'll hurt
but they can do nothing if only alone
so in their uncertain path of life
they keep walking
they keep searching
a place where they are perfectly matching
in a giant puzzle
of God's creation

Untanglin My Mind
I guess youre glad to see Im finally leaving
I know things for you will change now for the good
But its all that I can do to pack my suitcase
And walk away from you the way I should
And I cant seem to find the voice of reason
Everything seems upside down and right side wrong
While a part of me is here and wont like leaving
The rest of me the best of me is gone
And Im sure no one will wonder where Ive gone to
But if anyone should ask from time to time
Tell them that you finally drove me crazy
And Im somewhere untanglin my mind
Well tell em I wont be riding Ill be walking
cause I dont think a crazy man should drive
Anyway the car belongs to you now
Along with any part of me thats still alive
But theres really not much left you could hold on to
And if you did it wouldnt last here anyway
It would head to where the rest of me rolled on to
So even if I wanted to I couldnt stay
Repeat chorus
And Im somewhere untanglin my mind

Autumnal Light
Softly they walk on a day in October the old man
and sunlight amongst ageless olive trees planted
when his great grandfather was young.
On the track there is mark of hooves from flocks
of sheep that walk here daily on their way home
after grazing on the upland.
Bits of fleece on thorny bushes, black pellets
and the pungent aroma of the wooly backed
still lingers…
He sees the old cottage the roof has fallen
in and bushes grow through its floor, but
he doesn´t stop, it was all so long ago.
Light is fading wants to turn in, time to go
home for him too, autumn evenings are chilly,
and damp, no good for his chest.

Walking Man
Moving in silent desperation
Keeping an eye on the holy land
A hypothetical destination
Say, who is this waliking man?
Well, the leaves have come to turning
And the goose has gone to fly
And bridges are for buning
So dont you let that yearning
Pass you by
Walking man, walking man walks
Well, any other man stops and talks
But the walking man walks
Well the frost is on the pumpkin
And the hay is in the barn
An pappys come to rambling on
Stumbling around drunk
Down on the farm
And the walking man walks
Doesnt know nothing at all
Any other man stops and talks
But the walking man walks on by
Walk on by
Most everybodys got seed to sow
It aint always easy for a weed to grow, oh no
So he dont hoe the row for no one
Oh for sure hes always missing
And something is never quite right
Ah, but who would want to listen to you
Kissing his existence good night
Walking man walk on by my door
Well, any other man stops and talks
But not the walking man
Hes the walking man
Born to walk
Walk on walking man
Well now, would he have wings to fly
Would he be free
Golden wings against the sky
Walking man, walk on by
So long, walking man, so long

How Mild Fall Is
How mild the fall is?
I followed a track between tall, pale green cactuses, in this harsh landscape
where even the smallest plant has thorns, where bark and leaves, of even
regular trees, like carob and olive, are tough and will not softens to human
touch. Yet this is a landscape that once was tilled and now abandoned, does
this landscape’s common soul feels rancorous of being left to fend for itself?
I found a ruin. More than a ruin, a pile of stones only its outline told me that
once this had been a home where children had been born, lived and died
for generations, till someone said: enough! And left for pastures green, (most
likely USA or Canada,) poverty is only romantic in movies. Half of November
gone, I’m walking about in shirt sleeves the ground is rock hard and dusty,
the local paper tells us that 14 years ago the weather was mild too till January,
then it snowed and it was cold till May. Feel I’m being watched in the bushes
I see a boar watching me it is a wily old boar it sees I carry no gun, yet keeps
its distance; and high above me circles eagles; the landscape is teaming with
rabbits which used to be food for the people, who lived in the ruin (when
they could snare one) now business men, who have paid for a license to kill,
come here to unwind. To kill seems to satisfy a base desire in mankind; yet, it
is better a rabbit is scarified, then to see a dead Afghan child with eyes that
reflect the grey mountains, poppy fields and the blue unfeeling sky.

The Hero And The Theif
I'll play the part of the hero,
You play the role of the thief.
With sword in hand
I take my stand.
I take my stand right here.
You played your part
And stole her heart
While the hero goes away.
But I'll return
To save the girl
When I come back some day.
I walk the longest road
Past castles and through time.
On my way home I'm coming
To save the world I left behind.
Years gone by as time fades away.
I'm longing for the day
That I return
Knowing that I've earned
To see her smiling face.
You've played your part
And stole her heart
While the hero was away.
Now I've returned
To save the girl
Banish you from today.
I've played my part as the hero
You've played your role as the thief.
I've saved the girl
And saved the world
The hero and the thief.

Departure
So long old friend,
It has been fun
But my work here is done.
To watch you grow
And get to know
The man you have become.
Wherever you walk
And whenever you talk
Part of me is there.
And wherever I go
You too should know
That a part of you I share.
The part of you that made me laugh
Through all the memories we have.
The things that made us mad
The pain that made us cry
Yet, alas, old friend
It is time for me to say goodbye.
Now, we part in separate ways
And with others spend our latter days.
Still in your wealthy memory
Let others see that part of me;
The part of me you'll always have,
The part of me that made you laugh.
Fate has made us one somehow,
It is she who separates us now.
In time you'll see, much of you is me
Our friendship thus was true
And before I go, the world will know
How much of me is you.

From The Biography Of An Unknown Woman: Xxviii
some feel secure
walking a few steps behind
some feel confident
walking beside
she was amazed to see
those who walked ahead
it always made her feel good
just to walk her stride
matching his, the fingers or
sometimes the shoulders or
any part of those limbs that
moved in rhythm gently brushing
against each other accidentally...
of all
she felt cozy
simply holding hands
when there was none in their vicinity

Et Memoria
Come and walk through my life today
while we remember our yesterdays,
a new day is unfolding for us
and leave an impression of you,
painted against the canvas of my thoughts
because every new tomorrow
is born from our yesterdays
and you stay part of me, even though
everything between us is past,
I see you in the sparkle of the sun,
the dew that are sparkling on leaves
and now I realize, that love
in every moment of remembering
starts new again
and how slowly I still stretch out moments
that is already past
as if it’s always part of my humanity
but I am aware
that our relationship is far past being dead,
that tonight
you will find heat with someone else
as if I am only
part of a quenched flame.
[Reference: Et Memoria by Japie S. Strydom:
“Come walk tonight
through my tomorrow,
and page with me through my dreams,
draw your body here
in my soft covered book,
since our today is born in yesterdays and tomorrows:
you are a flash of the sun,
the early morning dew;
summer dreams on a late afternoon,
an early spring morning–
tonight I know,
that the days of our lives (love?) ,
again,
starts in every remembrance:
how slowly I weaved you
and carried you down
– into the cocoon of yesterdays and tomorrows
in remembrance of drawn out longing
to the wool blanket of my conscience.
Tonight I know
that your feet
unaccustomed to the strangeness -
will separate from me coldly shy.” (My English translation.) ]

Have you ever been out for a late autumn walk in the closing part of the afternoon, and suddenly looked up to realize that the leaves have practically all gone And the sun has set and the day gone before you knew it - and with that a cold wind blows across the landscape That's retirement.

The Walkers
(He speaks.)
Walking, walking, oh, the joy of walking!
Swinging down the tawny lanes with head held high;
Striding up the green hills, through the heather stalking,
Swishing through the woodlands where the brown leaves lie;
Marveling at all things -- windmills gaily turning,
Apples for the cider-press, ruby-hued and gold;
Tails of rabbits twinkling, scarlet berries burning,
Wedge of geese high-flying in the sky's clear cold,
Light in little windows, field and furrow darkling;
Home again returning, hungry as a hawk;
Whistling up the garden, ruddy-cheeked and sparkling,
Oh, but I am happy as I walk, walk, walk!
(She speaks.)
Walking, walking, oh, the curse of walking!
Slouching round the grim square, shuffling up the street,
Slinking down the by-way, all my graces hawking,
Offering my body to each man I meet.
Peering in the gin-shop where the lads are drinking,
Trying to look gay-like, crazy with the blues;
Halting in a doorway, shuddering and shrinking
(Oh, my draggled feather and my thin, wet shoes).
Here's a drunken drover: "Hullo, there, old dearie!"
No, he only curses, can't be got to talk. . . .
On and on till daylight, famished, wet and weary,
God in Heaven help me as I walk, walk, walk!

The Sacred And Profane
give me tears
give me love
let me rest
let up on
send the bored
your restless
the feedback-scarred
devotionless
you're all a part of me now
and if i fall
you're all a part of me now
in the sun
you're all a part of me now
you're all a part of me now
will love ever be enough
just in time to prove
will words ever be enough
just in time to lose
give me signs
that arrest
it could snow
and happiness
give me time
give me peace
and i will prove
my release
you're all a part of me now
and if i fall
you're all a part of me now
in the sun
you're all a part of me now
you're all a part of me now
will love ever be enough
just in time to prove
will time ever be enough
will love ever be enough
you're all a part of me now
and if i fall
you're all a part of me now
in the sun
you're all a part of me now
you're all a part of me now
you're all a part of me now
and if i fall
you're all a part of me now
in the sun
you're all a part of me now
will love ever be enough
will love ever be enough
will love ever be enough
just in time to prove

Melting With The Shadows Of The Trees
one tells me
i have only a few months to live.
will it bother me?
i only tell myself
everything is a possibility
dying is certain, so what's the heck?
i don't have any baggage
to carry,
neither do i have so many things to hide
or keep
and worry about them
as to who shall have them
she is worried about me
do i have emotions? am i numb as a rock?
i tell her, i am a cliff
i look beyond the sea,
i am a friend of the wind
i have a grasp of heaven
to live is not really to just live
it is also
by essence to think beyond living
to know that everything here is just
part of the total picture
a bit of a pixel
that there are still missing pieces of
this jigsaw puzzle
it is like
packing nothing
walking barefoot on the grassy hill
passing a river
and walking some mountains
it is like
walking in the dark
and melt
with the shadows of the trees.

True Story
they found him walking along the freeway
all red in
front
he had taken a rusty tin can
and cut off his sexual
machinery
as if to say --
see what you've done to
me? you might as well have the
rest.
and he put part of him
in one pocket and
part of him in
another
and that's how they found him,
walking
along.
they gave him over to the
doctors
who tried to sew the parts
back
on
but the parts were
quite contented
the way they
were.
I think sometimes of all of the good
ass
turned over to the
monsters of the
world.
maybe it was his protest against
this or
his protest
against
everything.
a one man
Freedom March
that never squeezed in
between
the concert reviews and the
baseball
scores.
God, or somebody,
bless
him.

Part Of Your World
Look at this stuff
Isn't it neat?
Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?
Wouldn't you think I'm the girl
The girl who has everything?
Look at this trove
Treasures untold
How many wonders can one cavern hold?
Looking around here you'd think(i love you)
Sure, she's got everything
I've got gadgets and gizmo's a-plenty
I've got woozits and whatzits galore
You want thingamabobs? I've got 20.
But who cares?
No big deal
I want more
I wanna be where the people are
I wanna see
Wanna see 'em dancing
Walking around on those
[What do you call 'em? oh, feet!]
Flipping your fins you don't get to far
Legs are required for jumping, dancing
strolling along down the
What's that word again? street
Oh, Up where they walk
Up where they run
Up where they stay all day in the sun
Wandering free
Wish I could be
Part of that world
What would I give
If I could live
Out of these waters?
What would I pay
To spend a day
Warm on the sand?
Bet'cha on land
They understand
that they don't reprimend their daughters
Bright young women
Sick of swimming
Ready to stand
And I'm ready to know what the people know
Ask 'em my questions and get some answers
What's a fire and why does it
What's the word? burn
When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love
Love to explore the shore up above?
Out of the sea
Wish I could be
Part of that world
Out of the sea
Wish I could be
Part of your world

Part of It All
i am only
a part
of creation
this body
i am in
i am only
a part of it
the rest
i really dont
know what's
going on
i am
you know
only part
of creation
if creation
would give
mouths
to the grass
every blade
in the field
would decry too
'we own only
part of each other'
the rest, only
heaven knows.'
