Death Of Peter Pan
The Death of Peter Pan
Peter Pan used to be black, he could sing and dance
and make jazz hands. He was so good that it made
sense to make him white, the world embraced him.
Everyone had a stake in him as he was transformed
into a pale ghost with a plastic nose, no one laughed
too much money at stake. Peter Pan liked children
too much for normal society to tolerate, but money
smoothed the way, but do not do it again.
Peter Pan was fragile doctors were always at hand to
give him injections that lifted his spirit and made him
feel good, and he needed more of it now that he was
middle aged, yet trying to look fourteen. His handlers
thought there was more money to wring out of his
tortured body. One, two, three, Peter couldn’t breath
collapsed in heap, and that’s a pity now that USA has
a black president and he could be himself again.

The Ballad Of Peter Pumpkinhead
Peter pumpkinhead came to town
Spreading wisdom and cash around
Fed the starving and housed the poor
Showed the vatican what golds for
But he made too many enemies
Of the people who would keep us on our knees
Hooray for peter pumpkin
Wholl pray for peter pumpkinhead?
Oh my!
Peter pumpkinhead pulled them all
Emptied churches and shopping malls
Where he spoke, it would raise the roof
Peter pumpkinhead told the truth
But he made too many enemies...
Peter pumpkinhead put to shame
Governments who would slur his name
Plots and sex scandals failed outright
Peter merely said
Any kind of love is alright
But he made too many enemies...
Peter pumpkinhead was too good
Had him nailed to a chunk of wood
He died grinning on live tv
Hanging there he looked a lot like you
And an awful lot like me!
But he made too many enemies...
Hooray for peter pumpkin
Wholl pray for peter pumpkin
Hooray for peter pumpkinhead
Oh my oh my oh!
Doesnt it make you want to cry oh?

The Long Doze
The Long Doze
God woke up
he had slept since world war one.
He was in good mood
On his desk two stacks of papers
one for the righteous people
one for atheists
He called St. Peter and said:
“Let them all in.”
“Are you sure Peter muttered?
“Peter, just do as I say.”
“I like to see
how happy the good will be”
God giggled
“But, most of all the astonishment
In the faces of non believers. “

St. Peter At The Golden Gate
St. Peter at the Golden Gate
Explained, for me it’s much too late
That Heaven’s gate, without a doubt
Was built right there to keep me out
It’s common knowledge, I’m no Saint
But a real bad guy, I surely ain’t
Heaven knows, I’ve done some wrong
But it doesn’t mean I don’t belong
I know I’m not the most devout
But pray, St. Peter, don’t fence me out
I promise I won’t cause chagrin
To those in Heaven, all fenced in
I’ll run a casino for all to enjoy
I’ll run it as pure as an altar boy
And dear St. Peter, I give you this pledge
At Heaven’s casino, I’ll give you an edge
So you see, St. Peter, Heaven can’t wait
What’s needed in Heaven, is me, your soul mate
Do what you can to unlock the key
So together we’ll be, St. Peter and me…

What's so special about all those amazing British children's writers, those who gave us Alice in Wonderland and Robinson Crusoe and Pooh Bear and Peter Pan and Peter Rabbit and the rest, was that they didn't set out to seduce. The great children's writers were authentic, they copied no one, they didn't set out to make money or to preach ideas. They just transcribed their dreams.

Christmas At The Pearly Gates
Three men die on Christmas day
And then arrive at the pearly gates
St Peter starts to turn them away
Since his records say they’re reprobates
But since it was Christmas …well
He might let them in
If they had any symbol
of Christmas with them
The first had an ornament in his pocket
St Peter ushered him in
The second had pine needles on his shirt
St Peter bade him within
The third gentleman with a look of chagrin
Pulled out a pair of panties of green and red
“How do these represent Christmas? ”
Astounded, St Peter said
“Well Pete, I know you are familiar
With beautiful, Christmas carols
And these skimpies might seem to you
Simply as risqué apparel.”
“Well…These are Carol’s, ”
the man said with a grin
Saint Peter rolled his eyes…
And then let him in

The Sun Will Come Out Again.
Another blazing summer comes to an end.
As a kid it is time for school again.
As a adult it is surviving the winter bitterness.
The bills will be piling up soon enough.
Got to keep on it.
Robbing Peter to pay Paul.
Making a lot of phone calls.
One job just doesn't seem to get me by.
Flying by the seat of my pants.
They say all you got to do is ask for a little help.
And they will come.
I haven't seen this yet.
If it was a bet I would have made millions.
Self dependence on overly indulgent society.
The basis of greed.
The white widow.
Who will she get this time.
Who has she made sing the poor man blues.
With holes in my boots I go to work.
Just trying to make ends meat.
Take a seat their millions of you.
You number will be called just wait in this line.
Hours go by before you get denied the help you so desperately need.
Sorry but you just make too much.
We'd rather pocket that money.
In good time everything will be fine.
Oh angel give me wings.
Let me fly high and live life as if I wasn't already dead.
Already dead, already dead, already dead.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sometimes you just got to make the best of what you have.
Even when the outlook looks so grim.
The sun will come out again.

Menemsha
(carly simon/peter wood)
Peters on the loose
Id like to see him again
I remember when
We made love
On the jetty in the rain.
When the fishing boats would
Come back in
At the end of the day
Hed run up the hill to my cabin
With a swordfish and hed say:
girl I want you all over again?
All over again
Chorus:
In menemsha, menemsha
Menemsha, menemsha
The sunset on the sound
Were almost too much to take
We would dance on the hill
With our friends
til the morning would break
Everybody drank too much beer
In those days
Thank God it wasnt whisky
Or wed all be dead
And peter and me wed pull the shades
Everyone was interested
In peter and me

The actors are in control, getting outrageous amounts of money. The reason they're getting this kind of money is because the studios don't know what else to do. They don't have a clue about what to do except to pay an actor a lot of money.

Stepping Out Of The Boat
The fear of death was in their eyes
waves filled the boat to their surprise.
Sailing this earthly sea we experience fears
the storms of life can bring such tears.
Then through the storm a voice was heard
the encouraging voice of the Good shepherd.
He'd seen His sheep struggling with their fear
and came to comfort them and to draw near.
They heard Him speak the words 'Fear not'
and amidst the storm their fears they forgot.
'If it's You Jesus, ' Peter said to the Lord
'Bid me come to You, I'll obey your word'
The command to him then came from You
and gazing upon You Peter's faith grew.
Putting his fears to one side courageously
he stepped outside the boat onto the sea.
****** Many years later
The thought of dying was in our heart
as from Amsterdam we began to depart.
'At midnight my love we will either be
at home, or in heaven the Lord we'll see'
God was protecting us that dreadful day.
The time was not right to take us away
from this earthly scene to be with Him
even though the situation looked so grim.
'That's it' you said 'No more flying for me
Terra firma from now on it's going to be.'
'No more holidays abroad I've had enough
flying for me is emotionally too tough.'
'Let's not go to abroad this year, ' you said.
We'll have a holiday in Scotland instead
It will be better than having to face the fear
of flying overseas to Ghana this year.
Let's send them both a present instead.
Post them some money as they get wed.
Wasting money on air fare is not the way
they will appreciate it much more anyway.
My love, God can send money so easily
but a much more priceless gift would be
for us to go and be present with them there
and in Ghana their special day to share.
As the fear and concern came back again
You heard Jesus saying so clear and plain
'Put fear to one side and fly to them there
I'll be with you as you go so do not despair.'
And then just as Peter did when on the sea
When he heard Jesus say 'Peter come to me'
You put your fear to one side and willingly
stepped right out of the boat onto the sea
The tickets were purchased and all was ready
The pain of the injections a distant memory
Plans have been made, hat and dresses bought
In August to Ghana we go, or so we thought
At that time God's will we did not know
for illness struck just before we were to go.
You were rushed to hospital in great pain
and prevented from getting onto the plane
Storms come along as we walk His way
bringing in their wake doubts and dismay.
You showed great faith to step out of the boat
Knowing the Lord would keep you afloat.
Mr. Peter & my sister
Mr. Peter & my sister
This poem goes out to Mr. Peter
Who is a friend of my sister
And blow out my cover
In order to hide
I wrote my name backward
Until…the same day
My sister who is smart like Holmes
And Mr. Peter who is a genius
Discovered my disguise
And ruined my surprise.

Price Tag (Jessie J)
Seems like everybody's got a price
I wonder how they sleep at night
When the sale comes first and the truth comes second
Just stop for a minute and smile
Why is everybody so serious?
Acting so damn mysterious
You got your shades on your eyes and your heels so high
That you can't even have a good time
Everybody look to their left
Everybody look to their right
Can you feel that? Yeah
We'll pay them with love tonight
It's not about the money, money, money
We don't need your money, money, money
We just wanna make the world dance
Forget about the price tag
Ain't about the cha-ching, cha-ching
Ain't about the ba-bling, ba-bling
Wanna make the world dance
Forget about the price tag
We need to take it back in time
When music made us all unite
And it wasn't low blows and video hoes
Am I the only one gettin' tired?
Why is everybody so obsessed?
Money can't buy us happiness
Can we all slow down and enjoy right now
Guarantee we'll be feelin' alright
Everybody look to their left
Everybody look to their right
Can you feel that? Yeah
We'll pay them with love tonight
It's not about the money, money, money
We don't need your money, money, money
We just wanna make the world dance
Forget about the price tag
Ain't about the cha-ching, cha-ching
Ain't about the ba-bling, ba-bling
Wanna make the world dance
Forget about the price tag
Yeah, yeah, well, keep the price tag and take the cash back
Just give me six strings and a half stack
And you can keep the cars, leave me the garage
And all I, yes, all I need are keys and guitars
And guess what, in 30 seconds I'm leaving to Mars
Yes, we leaving across these undefeatable odds
It's like this man, you can't put a price on life
We do this for the love, so we fight and sacrifice every night
So we ain't gon' stumble and fall, never
Waiting to see, a sign of defeat, uh uh
So we gon' keep everyone moving their feet
So bring back the beat and then everybody sing, it's not about
It's not about the money, money, money
We don't need your money, money, money

The Gallant Peter Clarke
On Walden's Range at morning time
The sun shone brightly down;
It shone across the winding Page
Near Murrurundi town.
It glittered o'er the Burning Mount,
Where murky shadows fell
Across the path to travellers known
To some, alas, too well.
There stands a simple block of stone,
Erected as a mark
To show the spot where he fought and died,
That gallant Peter Clarke.
And if you will but list awhile,
To you I will relate
What happened there to Peter Clarke
And Jimmy Clarke, his mate.
They camped one night close by the range,
In songs the hours flew past,
And little did poor Peter think
That night would be his last.
At dawn they toiled the steep ascent;
They had scarcely reached the top
When a voice in accents stern and cold
Commanded them to stop.
'Hand up your money, watch and chain,'
The robber sternly cried,
'Who takes my money takes my life!'
The angry Clarke replied.
Then laughed the robber loud in scorn
As he his pistol drew.
Said he 'My hand is firm and strong,
And my aim is ever true.
'And he who will my word gainsay,
Though he be earl or knight,
I swear by all I sacred hold
He ne'er shall see morning light.
'So give up your money now, my lad,
And do not idly rave.
Resist and, by the God above,
This night you'll fill the grave.'
'Those are but words and idle words,'
The daring Clarke replied,
And with one rapid bound he strode
Close by the robber's side.
And now commenced the struggle
For life between them both,
One hand of Clarke's the pistol grasped
And the other grasped his throat.
Now haste you, haste you, Jimmy Clarke,
And seek for help in need -
Your comrade's welfare, nay, his life
Depends on your good speed.
But hark to that loud pistol shot,
In a second rends the skies.
A human being on the sod
In his death struggle lies.
But in his dying gasp
Poor Peter seemed to say,
'Revenge, revenge you, Peter Clarke!
And so he passed away.
But the robber, frightened by his deed,
In terror now did lie,
For the hand of Clarke upon his throat
Is tighter as he died.
And so indeed he was avenged,
For God has said it so -
'Who takes a life must yield a life!'
And the murderer met his doom.

How we backed the Favourite
'Sure thing,' said the grocer; 'as far as I know, sir,
This horse, Peter Pan, is the safest of certs.'
'I see by the paper,' commanded the draper,
'He's tipped and he carries my whole weight of shirts.'
The butcher said, 'Well, now, it's easy to tell now
There's nothing else in it except Peter Pan.'
And so the baker, the barman, bookmaker,
The old lady char and the saveloy man.
'You stick to my tip, man,' admonished the grip-man,
'Play up Peter Pan; he's a stayer with speed.'
And the newspaper vendor, the ancient road mender,
And even the cop at the corner agreed.
The barber said, 'Win it? There's nothing else in it.
I backed Peter Pan with the last that I had.'
'Too right,' said the liftman. 'The horse is a gift, man.'
The old jobbing gardener said, 'Peter Pan, lad!'
I know nought of racing. The task I was facing,
It filled me with pain and unreasoning dread.
They all seemed so certain. And yet a dark curtain
Of doubt dulled my mind… But I must keep my head!
I went to the races, and I watched all their faces.
I saw Peter Pan's; there was little he lacked.
And as he seemed willing, I planked on my shilling
And triumphed! And that's how the favorite was backed.
