Dance Macabre
Dance Macabre
Soon we all will all look
30 when we die,
which will please undertakers?
Death will be called a voyage,
on an everlasting cruise ship
and the purser will send
festive cards
from romantic ports.
No, grand dad is not dead he is resting
and he is wearing makeup because he is going on
a passenger ship to be dancing partner
for old ladies.

Macabre Beauty
They say death is the end,
But I don't think so,
Death's an old friend,
Waiting for us to go,
Away from this realm,
When our job's over,
The world seems a dream,
That keeps on going forever.
They say death is dark,
As dark as coal,
Extinguishing life's spark,
Dragging into it's hole,
Little do they realize,
That this is nature's law,
So, why're they surprised,
For it's like this since long ago?
They consider death macabre,
For it's the final end,
Like a sharpened saber,
Cutting the delicate thread,
But though it may seem,
That death's always macabre,
But it does itself redeem,
By bringing a new future.
Strangely, I find myself at peace,
When I am not at ease,
I request death, oh please!
Have me from my bonds release!
Silently, death does it's duty,
Therein lies it's macabre beauty.

Danse Macabre
We all must learn to dance the danse macabre
Dance our wishes, dance in constant revolution
It all began with the apple and the arbre
Not to forget that we are humans still libre
Not look into those fiery orbs of perdition
We all will learn to dance the danse macabre
From time to time sing hymn a hosanna
If only we keep our inner motivation
It all began with the apple and the arbre
We must continue and sing a tra la la
Keeping our sights on that higher elevation
We all must know to dance the danse macabre
On land and on sea we see the rhea and orca
Frolicking and swimming with some apprehension
Not to forget the eaten apple at the arbre
Our acts of love must match our words with oevres
To insure for us a happy conclusion
This is not a dance with serpent diable
Who in the garden Eden circled the arbre

Disingenuousness
Here lies another box for nature,
Carbon ready;
Black to eyes down here,
Where death is at its job.
Up there you’ll hear a rhythmic sob
Or two from living yet-to-dies –
A humming lacrimoso –
It all but cleans the eyes:
Forget it –
The dismal show of grief –
Life is only chemistry –
Our stay is only brief.
It’s we who hype it up!
Diaphragms jerk again;
The jet monotone of hearses
Feeds the disingenuousness
Of undertakers –
They seem to stare at something up ahead –
For them, it’s in the blood,
To taxi off the dead.

Canary
I learn my name
I write with a number two pencil
I work up to my potential
I earn my meat
I come when called
I jump when you circle the cherry I sing like a good canary
I come when called
I come, thats all
Send it up on fire
Death before dawn
Send it up on fire
Death before dawn
I clean the house
I put all your books in an order
I make up a colorful border
I clean my mouth
Cause froth comes out
Send it up on fire
Death before dawn
Send it up on fire
Death before dawn

After the Sea - Ship
a dancer on the stage
the ship and the sea my envy
they dance to god's repertoire
a heartwrenching spontaneous dance
energetically executed
over a stage that rotates in waves
strenuous steps that shuffle between life and death
poignant steps that send the hearts afiery, the feet frenzy
first a breeze, a soothing calm
that would soon throw the dancer helter skelter
onto a tempest
where the goddess of dance
has to be propitiated, called upon
for each step, each stomping of foot, feet
up and down, up and down
over treacherous waters
where the living bares their souls
and dancers fashion in motion every emotion
each muscle, each nerve
tested for their fitness in
the dance of the god
a repertoire of surprise, fear,
excitement in all its facets
a dancer thrown to the last test
the trading of steps for life
the waves pounds, she angles herself
steadying herself to the next onslaught of
the yet unknown dance beats
from the world master of dance
puppeteers of the world
that work behind our eyes

After The Sea-Ship
AFTER the Sea-Ship-after the whistling winds;
After the white-gray sails, taut to their spars and ropes,
Below, a myriad, myriad waves, hastening, lifting up their necks,
Tending in ceaseless flow toward the track of the ship:
Waves of the ocean, bubbling and gurgling, blithely prying,
Waves, undulating waves-liquid, uneven, emulous waves,
Toward that whirling current, laughing and buoyant, with curves,
Where the great Vessel, sailing and tacking, displaced the surface;
Larger and smaller waves, in the spread of the ocean, yearnfully
flowing;
The wake of the Sea-Ship, after she passes-flashing and frolicsome,
under the sun,
A motley procession, with many a fleck of foam, and many fragments,
Following the stately and rapid Ship-in the wake following.

Christmas Cards
Every year we send Christmas cards
And every year I ask myself:
Why do we send Xmas regards
To our friends who unlike ourselves
Hardly ever reciprocate?
The cost is not cheap I might add;
But my wife always steers me straight.
She says, “.you and I should be glad
To be blessed with so many friends.
A friend always transcends the cost
Of a card. Who cares if they send
Or not, or if their cards get lost
In the mail. The greatest pleasure
giving can never be measured.”

Captain Smith
My heart is sinking fast just like the titanic
My heart is pumping blood thats turning blue
Well, I just want this cruise and I just cant imagine
Im drowning and its all because of you
Just as cold as ice ripped into my bough
Drifted off in moonlight while my ship was goin down
This cruise alone might be my last
And I cant even fathom
Why you left me alone to drown
My heart is sinking fast just like the titanic
Captain would you please go warn the crew
Well, everything is built to last, but it dont last forever
Im sorry but the end is coming soon
Just as cold as ice ripped into my bough
Drifted off in moonlight while my ship was goin down
This cruise alone might be my last
And I cant even fathom
Why you left me alone to drown
Just as cold as ice ripped into my bough
Drifted off in moonlight while my ship was goin down
This cruise alone might be my last
And I cant even fathom
Why you left me all alone to drown
Why you left me all alone to drown.

My Ship and I
O it's I that am the captain of a tidy little ship,
Of a ship that goes a sailing on the pond;
And my ship it keeps a-turning all around and all about;
But when I'm a little older, I shall find the secret out
How to send my vessel sailing on beyond.
For I mean to grow a little as the dolly at the helm,
And the dolly I intend to come alive;
And with him beside to help me, it's a-sailing I shall go,
It's a-sailing on the water, when the jolly breezes blow
And the vessel goes a dive-dive-dive.
O it's then you'll see me sailing through the rushes and the reeds,
And you'll hear the water singing at the prow;
For beside the dolly sailor, I'm to voyage and explore,
To land upon the island where no dolly was before,
And to fire the penny cannon in the bow.

Just as I shall select my ship when I am about to go on a voyage, or my house when I propose to take a residence, so I shall choose my death when I am about to depart from life.

Death I Do Not Fear
Death I do not fear
Because it will come one year
Live forever I will not
For everyones fate is to die and rot
Fearing death is a waste of time
For this is how I felt when I wrote this rhyme
Though I wish to live forever you see
Death is only for an eternity
So on a rainy day in a graveyard
Please send no flowers, pictures, or cards
For death did not scare me in life
And my death was natural with no gun or knife

Gliding Over All
GLIDING o'er all, through all,
Through Nature, Time, and Space,
As a ship on the waters advancing,
The voyage of the soul--not life alone,
Death, many deaths I'll sing.

Long Voyage
Long Voyage and a Chinese Lady.
Glittering ocean, there is no difference between the vast blue sky and the sea.
I’m in a bubble, there is no escape. I walk on a rusty deck know this voyage will
never end. Time is reduced to a trickle. The ship is bound for Nagasaki but we
will never get there. I feel a wave of dread, the difference between sunset and
dawn is but a whisper. Magazines, books and old newspapers have been read
and reread a thousand times, playing cards are filthy by overuse, I have fallen in
love with the print of the green Chinese lady in the salon. When voices are still
I sit and watch her and will her to smile, but she’s inscrutable. Seagulls, the sea
has changed colour, grey and foamy, air is no longer pure. Nagasaki has come
to our rescue and saved us from mortal weariness. The city will dock alongside
us in the afternoon.

Dance of love
The dance of hungered love
a dance of the soul
for fulfillment and everlasting love
dance the rapture
contemplating trancendence of love
meaning and beauty
i seek and questione
the lover, the dreamer
will know
what a pure human mind can never know
no words can describe
the shape and meaning of everything in life
experience it,
a blade of grass
it is part of the mystery
the unknown
the root of all knowledge
of creation itself
so i dance the dance of everlasting love
on nothingness
in search of the absolute
a search never quenched
a hunger never assuage...

Voyage to the Depth
Voyage to the Depth
By: Adam M. Snow
Woe unto us, one of many,
Yet was not the foe-of any-
Unto us the storm crashing tides,
But to sail on, voyage to the depth.
I envy Seas, whereon we rides-
By thee captain side, I stand tall.
Waves crashing upon the haul,
The creaks of soaked oaken rot.
A sound throughout the ship had caught.
Tossing and turning, the ship sailed not.
The thoughts of death upon us all,
Among this time, we all stand tall.
We await the time calming sea,
To sail this voyage once again.
We know not the curse may be,
But we know to sail on to the depth.
None-the-less to live on dreaming,
As we sail the moonlit tides gleaming.
A glistening light in the far distance,
Our only hope to our existence.
That might prove useful and yet never proves.
Closer we are, the further it moves.
Lest not give up hope,
For many should cope.
A journey seen fit till the end.
I should not dare to leave my friend,
But if we do not see the shore again,
I make mend of my very sin.
But the stormy seas rages still,
This voyage ceases to thrill.
Lightning clashes throughout the sky.
A time like this, all things must die.
Journey on to that dark horizon,
Until our bodies rot and wizen
All but I am sickened for home,
Out at sea, do we roam.
Many are ill since lost at sea,
All now knows what our curse may be.
Traveled the world, many times till now,
Onto the depth, our soul soon sail.
We leave behind our eternal vow,
Our promise to return to our love somehow.
We now sail down the river Styx,
Free from the havoc ocean tides.
Lost at sea, not a month but six,
As we leave behind our many brides.
Our vision's clearer than ever before,
Our voyage ends, not a glimpse of shore.
Our soul sails on, unto the abyss,
Our life's voyage went amiss.
We leave behind a story untold,
Many a child to whom never hold.

My ship was also in better condition than when she sailed from Boston on her long voyage. She was still as sound as a nut, and as tight as the best ship afloat. She did not leak a drop - not one drop!

Ship Of Love Valentine
The ship of love where hearts sail free
The ship of love is where you want to be.
It will take you on a valentine cruise
Where no heart will ever lose.
The ship will dock at all ports of love
Where cupids will come from up above.
They'll shoot their arrows at all who arrive
And you will find your love divine.
The ports of love are every where
On land, sea and in the air.
The ship of love is world wide bound
And you will find it all around.
So take this trip along with me
And your heart will be so free.

I'm going to dance!
I'm going to dance
I'm going to dance!
I will see the stars
holding hands with the moon
kisses send from the shutting stars
will twirl on my soul
with no control
I'm going to dance
I'm going to dance!
I will dissolve
disoriented fear
and send it
to the clouds
the cotton puffs
so white and pure
will turn grey
for a moment to come
and thunders sound
when fear is there
will clear the air
after its all done
all will be one
I'm going to dance
I'm going to dance!
On the canvas
and imprint
my heart
on the blank
white cloth
not red
but silver and gold
