air travel in a Dakota
Air Travel in a Dakota (1956)
White as sheet, the virtual page in front of me, I want to compose a gentle
whisper of a memory. Thought of my first flight, an old Dakota plane, that
looked like a diesel stinking bus inside. I looked under the seat to find
the parachute, but the steward said there weren’t any. Disappointing I had
seen myself jumping out off the burning plane land safely and be in
the newspapers. The steward handed out sweets I pretended to eat one,
thought it might be a drug to keep us quiet, this made sense since many of
the passengers were drunk. Turbulence, like driving on a bad country lane,
I threw up in a paper bag. The plane landed in Sweden, the flight had only
lasted an hour. Walked tall across the grey tarmac, nonchalant presented
my passport to an immigration officer. Here comes a seasoned traveler.

Country
I saw lots of dust,
From the bus through South Dakota.
I was a passenger on my way to L.A.
I wish I took a train or a plane,
From Minnesota.
Instead I took my time,
And went the cheapest way!
Riding that seat on the bus,
Every bump my rump and the wheels
On that bus had found.
I couldn't stretch,
To lay my tired body down.
I looked around from the window,
And spotted a Caribou.
I stopped my cussing long enough,
To enjoy the view.
I felt a bit country!
As I started to hum a tune.
I thought of Mount Rushmore,
And Buffalo roaming plains!
I felt a bit country!
Thinking of things I'd do!
Like hiking and biking...
And skipping L.A. to see!
I saw lots of dust,
From the bus through South Dakota.
I was a passenger on my way to L.A.
I wish I took a train or a plane,
From Minnesota.
Instead I took my time,
And went the cheapest way!
And began feeling country.
With a native Indian mood.
Thinking of the tribes who survived,
The Wild Wild West!
I sat feeling country.
Changing up my attitude.
Imagining the Sioux...
And those rough times that they knew!
When I arrived in L.A.
I had forgotten I had wished I'd flew!

Friendly Skies
Missy:
Yeah
A little slow jam
Kiss me Hold me
The weatherman says it's gonna be
Cold tonight
Whatever man
Whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever
Whatever man you wanna do
I'll be the pilot
Don't miss your flight
I'm stewardess of the plane
Feel the turbulence and maintain
Please refrain stay in your seats
Until we reach the game
I'm stewardess of the plane
Feel the turbulence and maintain
Please refrain stay in your seats
Ginuwine:
Take me higher
Let's just go for a little
Joy Ride
Whatever man
Whatever whatever whatever whatever
Let's stay
Buckled up
And let's make love
Across the friendly skies
I'm passenger of this plane
I feel the turbulence I maintain
I will refrain Stay in my seat
Till I reach the game
I'm passenger of this plane
I feel the turbulence I maintain
I will refrain
I stay in my seat
I want you (I want you)

Silver Bird
This morning as I walked, I gazed out across my land
Lying there all still lying there upon the sand
A big silver bird had planted itself into the ground
And being the kind of person who isnt very easily alarmed
Decided to take a walk to see just what I could find
Walked around the walls, tapping to find me a door
Looking for a windows to see if I could find out more
Big silver bird let me inside your plane
Want to fly so high fly me high, away
All of a sudden the door slid back and someone was there
A strange kind of being spoke to me in my tongue
Step inside, well take you away in our plane
Well fly you so high, youll never have the chance to complain
To leave this earth, never even (? ? ? ) ...
Stepping inside I fixed myself into a seat
Holding on, lord, I heard them engines start to beat
Big silver bird let me inside your plane
Want to fly so high, fly me high away

Aearial Painting
Aerial Painting
The painting in the hall of an old bi-plane flying
a across a blue sky, was different this morning,
it had landed by a waterfall and the pilots stood
leaning against the plane’s fuselage slowly
smoking a cigarette, eyes closed enjoying every
moment, every inhale of scented tobacco.
I looked at the painting again the sky was dark,
there was lightning in the air the pilot had flown to
the front and collided with a barrage balloon,
the plane was a broken as thrown to the ground by
a spoilt boy who had wanted a fire-engine for his
birthday, and know only the blue sky prevails.

Flying back from New York, the flight attendant said 'God, I wished you were here yesterday, we had a stroke on the plane. I said, if I have a stroke on a plane, I hope the pretend doctor isn't the one on the plane. I want a real doctor.

On The Last Minute That You Boarded The Plane
on the last minute that you boarded
the plane
and you think
it is the one owned by God,
sorry, so sorry, that plane left
and you were not
on its manifest
you boarded the wrong plane
and that is the truth
enjoy your ride,
and pray
who knows
you may catch up on the next flight
to purgatory.

Malini's Dream.
Malini had a funny dream,
It was really funny,
Don’t know how you’ll feel,
She was on a flight to Singapore alone,
The pilot was her physics teacher,
In a suite white and blue,
“How were your exams? ” he asked to her,
“It was easy, really easy” she said nodding her head,
“How is it that you’re a pilot” she asked with a start,
“Sorry, no time to answer your questions; have to go back to my job”
She looked outside the window; she was in outer space,
“I thought I was going to Singapore” she said to herself without
tearing her gaze,
The food soon arrived; she no longer had to starve,
She ate it patiently and put herself and put herself to bed,
“Miss, please wake up, please wake up” said a voice,
A Hindi film actor was the air hostess in that flight,
“The plane’s going to land” he said with a fright,
“Please put on your seat belt, so you can land perfectly, alright? ”
The plane soon landed,
And she was on a green colored planet,
“The majesty has arrived” said a green slimy thing,
Many gathered up to her, many wore faces without a grin,
“Please protect us from evil King Pin” they said crying out loud,
“He took our, money”, ” He took many lives”,
“And he’s going to take us down,
“I shall protect you” replied Malini “I shall give you your freedom back,
“This is my promise to all of you; I’ll do anything to fight back”
Malini fought will all her energy, she defeated evil King Pin,
The planet gained their freedom once again and everybody had a big grin,
Malini did then went off to sleep, in her large and wide luxurious bed,
But she was awakened by her mother as all great dreams end,
“It’s a dream I’ll never forget! ” she said sitting on her bed!

Careless Memories
(words and music: duran duran)
So soon just after youve gone
My senses sharpen
But it always takes so damn long
Before I feel how much my eyes have darkened
Fear hangs in a plane of gunsmoke
Drifting in our room
So easy to disturb, with a thought, with a whisper
With a careless memory, with a careless memory
On the table, signs of love lies scattered
And the walls break, with a crashing within
Its not as though you really mattered to me
But being close, how could I let you go
Without some feeling, some precious sympathy following
Fear hangs in a plane of gunsmoke
Drifting in our room
So easy to disturb with a thought with a whisper
With a careless memory, with a careless memory
I walk out into the sun, try to find a new day
But the whole place just screams in my eyes
Where are you now cause I dont want to meet you
I think Id die, I think Id laugh at you
I know Id cry, what am I supposed to do follow you
Outside the thoughts coming flooding back now
I just try to forget you
So easy to disturb with a thought with a whisper
With a careless memory, with a careless memory
With a careless memory, look out
Look out
Look out
Look out

Miracle
Miracle
The Dakota plane should have been scrapped years ago,
eight soldiers and me, they took off my handcuffs laughed
and said I was free to go. Looking down I could see glitzy
Pacific Ocean; they opened the door and threw me out.
I fell and fell, air rush sounded as an express train, terror
froze my brain, but I remember thinking: “this is not a day
for enjoying the view.”Miracle! A mist bank crossed my
path so thick it broke my fall to a gentle descent and put
me softly on top of a tree that had many branches, it was
like going down a ladder which I had done often, (I used
to be a house painter.) People came running, I had landed
on a tiny island, they gave me coconut milk to drink and
told of a military plane that had crashed on a mountain
slope. I didn’t, gloat knew what they must have suffered,
drank more sweet milk, climbed up a hut on stilts and went
to sleep on a fragrant mat of palm leaves.

711 Story
I was in NYC on the street Lexington Ave.
This street is close to Madison
known for it’s high class ads.
I was there in hotel room number 711,
believe me it was no peaceful heaven.
I was up all night with noise from a truck,
Up on the 7th floor is where I was stuck.
Tired I missed my bus the next day,
I was very late to airport JFK.
Luckily a unlucky girl from MN was there,
She was crying hysterical without a care.
We rebooked our flight out of Washington D.C.
driving to DC airport before that plane did leave.
On the drive unlucky girl did complain,
about the morning and everything.
I told her I lived on gambling for 7 months
and when I travel I had so much luck.
When we got to the airport
the plane number did change,
so I called on my cell phone to rearrange,
who would pick me up at the last minute to spare,
the lady announced the new flight number,
but I was still unaware.
Until I boarded the plane,
did I realize all the numbers were all the same.
My room number was 711,
along with the time message was left on my phone,
even the number on the plane ride home.
They all were my Lucky 711
which made me think of 911.
when that catastrophe had struck,
Luckily none of my friends in NYC
did get hurt or stuck.
Years later I lived at a 711 address,
I also had an accident at that number
on a different street I do confess.
I ended up fine without a mess.
Now is 711 meant to be?
and should I play the lottery?
Now when 711 ever crosses my mind,
I try to save it in my diary in that point in time.

Train and Plane
I take the train
I board the plane
I ride the train
I fly the plane
I go by train
I come by plane
I go by plane
I come by train
I land the plane
I board the train
I take the plane
I ride the train
I come by train
I go by plane
I come by plane
I ride in rain
I fly the plane
I board the train
And again
I ride the train
Oh the train
Oh the train
That wished to be
An airplane

The Positive and the Negative Charges
More people die yearly in car accidents than in a plane crash,
But the British, John Boyd Dunlop, invented the rubber tyre in 1888.
More people die yearly in car accidents than in a plane crash,
But Rudulf Diesel invented the diesel engine with patent Nr.67207 in 1892.
More people die yearly in car accidents than in a plane crash,
But Carl Benz invented his car with patent Nr.37435 in 1886.
More people die yearly in car accidents than in a plane crash,
And today we are bombarded with many vehicles arouns us!
But to everything in this life, we do have the positive and the negative charges;
And like the pros and the cons of any act.

Travelling
a travel is a metaphor of a journey
and a journey is always
what life is all about
arrivals and departures and i see it well
at airports
and well, so well, at pre-departures
then we move inside the plane and
the doors close and we are lifted to the skies
for hours you are beside the clouds
but you never have the courage to open the window
and touch each fine cotton beside you
crazy but sometimes i think that way
opening closed windows and think not of the
prohibitions and the consequencies,
there is so much silence up there and it is the mind
that does much of the talking and you listen
always for the reminders of the stewardess
and the captain telling you that
we are 30,000 feet above sea level and out there
you see Panay Island
we will be flying for one hour and a half
it is a fine day
and then the seat belt sign is on for the
turbulence but you do not mind
you look forward to an arrival and the another
opening of a door to a destination
touchdown, the plane lands perfectly as always
no plane crash, no headlines for the daily news
but i do not really think about these matters anymore
i am thinking of the silence. I am thinking about the mind that
keeps on talking. Data. Ideas. Sad memories.
Dead parents. Sick sibling. Flowers. Trees.
The sun brightly shining behind a
Thick Cumulus cloud.
the stewardess announces an arrival, fifteen minutes
earlier than scheduled. Fast plane. My thoughts unconsumed.
we step down. we take our bags. this journey never stops.

Welcome Onboard
Welcome onboard
I don’t care to read of other people dreams it has nothing to do with
me, so I will tell you a real story. The day after my anniversary I walked
along the docks of Faro saw a sign, a cargo ship needed a chief steward.
I walked up the gangway, spoke to the captain and got the job.
On deck when the provision arrived; I was in charge just like before.
The captain came he looked baffled; according to my passport I was 73
and far too old to join a ship. The master thanked me, getting victuals
onboard signing for them and getting the food stuff safely stored.
The ship left without me but her captain saluted me, it was raining no
one saw my tears. Whatever I do these days even driving a car there are
people telling me I’m too old. Yet in Japan their oldest porno star, a man
of 77 and still working, so why will they not let me go back to sea again?

Next Plane To London
Im on the next plane to london
Leaving on runway number five
Next plane to london and Im missing her
That baby of mine
Told her I was gonna be a star
But to do it I would have to go far away
But Ill come back someday
And take her away
Im on the next plane to london
Leaving on runway number five
Next plane to london and Im missing her
That baby of mine
Said that over here I wasnt in
Down in hollywood I couldnt find a friend
Who would help me get in
Or listen to me
Im on the next plane to london
Leaving on runway number five
Next plane to london and Im missing her
That baby of mine
Maybe over there Ill get a start
Only hope by leaving I dont break her heart
The more important part
Than any record on the chart
Next plane to london
Leaving on runway number five
Next plane to london and Im missing her
That baby of mine
Next plane to london
Leaving on runway number five
Next plane to london and Im missing her
