In My Thoughts
You were in my thoughts as I lay sleeping
and I imagined you were in the room.
I knew very well that I was dreaming,
because you worked in the afternoon.
Nevertheless, I felt you touch the bed
with your leg as you passed by.
At the same time you hid your face,
but I could swear I heard you cry.
In my sleep I asked why you were crying,
and you turned with no trace of a tear.
You smiled and told me to go back to sleep
and have sweet dreams of having you near.
I continued to have erotic dreams about you
and how we made love night and day.
A cool breeze blew the curtain over your face
and it seemed to take you away.
The land line telephone rang and woke me,
and I immediately thought it was you.
I was so pleased to hear your voice,
but crying was all you could do.
The phone went to a maddening dial tone,
for some reason we were cut off.
I thought you may have run out of change,
or maybe you were just having a laugh.
I waited by the phone for you to ring again,
but for some reason you never did.
The police contacted me moments later saying
you had been killed by a hit and run kid.

0008 A Ghazal
I lie awake as the light night-rain falls, listening
to its irregularities, listening
as the breeze blows it now and then
against the window and the curtain flutters; listening
and wondering if I can hear
the rain listening
to itself, as if – I sometimes think I hear this –
there’s a moment just before it stops as if listening
to its own decision to stop, as if it sighs,
thinks, that’s enough; it could be listening
to the gratitude of the closed flowers, the wet earth,
the ecstasy of roots which are themselves listening
to the flowers sleeping, sighing in their sleep.
But do you wonder why I’m listening
instead of sleeping, this warm rainy night?
What’s so important that it needs my listening?
It was the rain that woke me; and as I turned, sighed,
it was the thought of you last night here next to me, listening
not to me, but to your own dreams – which I may never share;
though I may share you in my listening
to your sweet sleep’s breath, felt faintly on my shoulder;
and so, there’s a question in my listening –
did you awake at the same night rain, you so far away,
awake, sigh, and in your half-awakened listening
know that I too, thought of you?
Sighed that sweet thought, of our shared, single listening? …
As the perfume of a rose may be more evocative than the rose,
So sweeter, steadier than thought, dream, memory – the listening!

CP- To Mader
So one night it was dark and I couldn’t see,
I picked up my phone no one to disagree.
I was in possession of a beautiful phone,
Even though the phone was of a girlie tone.
I started checking my message to find out,
That maybe this isn’t my phone – hmm doubt.
But could this be the phone of my eye candy,
Maybe she could be unmarried and change her name to Sandy.
Hmm the possibilities of the owner of the stolen phone,
Oh goodness maybe I should watch my tone.
I return the untouchable phone back to her,
“I thought it was my phone” I said in transfer.
Oh the purple phone that was like mine,
Oh purple phone oh purple phone I let out a sigh….

I Just Didn't Love You
For some Strange reason
I thought you loved me
I guess i was wrong
I thought i loved you
But i loved The song
The song that played when we were together
The song that i wish could last forever
That song was my little secret
I loved that song, i wish could keep it
I promised myself that i wouldn't fall
and i didn't
I just thought i had it all
All i really had was the song
I did have you,
but it turned out you didn't belong
There really isn't any happy endings
I thought it was possible, but who was i kidding
Me and you, we were just pretending
We use to talk on the phone all night
We use to say i love you, but it never felt right
I did love it when we were together
but like they say, nothing lasts forever
I loved how we could talk about everything that's anything
I love how i use to feel when i heard the phone ring
I loved how when i was upset, you always knew exactly what to do
But for some strange reason, i just didn't love you
Our false love is dead
and i realized that song was all in my head

I Will Come Back For You
I'm sure I recognised her face
and I felt as if she knew mine too
I wanted to ask her where we'd met
but it didn't seem the right thing to do.
She then asked me how have I been?
as it had been such a very long while
now for some reason that made me feel uneasy
so I coughed nervously and tried to smile.
She went on to tell me so many things
that nearly knocked me off my feet
she even knew where I was living
and told me the name of the street.
She continued to talk all about my life
but I still never asked her how or why
and when I asked her where she had come from?
she smiled gently and pointed up to the sky.
'Are you my Guardian Angel then,
come down here to take me away
you seem to know all about me
even when I was a little boy at play? '
She never answered to this question
but before she left she kissed me on my head
then she just floated away from my view
the next thing I knew I awoke in my bed.
But I know that I wasn't just dreaming
as it felt so real and alive and true
and I know that she'll return again one day
because she whispered I'll come back for you.

Last Night I Heard You Crying In Your Sleep
Hank williams
I know you tried your best to love me
You smiled when your heart told you to weep
You tried to pretend that you were happy
Ooh last night I heard you crying in your sleep
You gave the best years of your life, dear
And each preccious vow you tried to keep
I love you so much I want you happy
Ooh last night I heard you crying in your sleep
Your heart is yearning for an old love
With new love its useless to compete
It hurts me to know that youre unhappy
Yeah last night I heard you crying in your sleep
You know that you are free to go, dear
And dont mind me if I weep
I know I can never make you happy
Cos last night I heard you crying in your sleep

When You Cry I'm Happy
High school crush so true. I wish I could have told you.
I've waited too long. I finally did one night.
I asked you to dance and you laughed in my face;
Then to make it worse, on went the lights.
[chorus]
When your heart breaks I'll be there
To laugh in your face, like you did to me.
When you're moping down the stairs
I'll be there to push you. Maybe you'll land on your head.
I hope that your heart breaks every time someone looks at you.
I hope you always feel how I felt that night
When you made me lower than the dirt on your shoes.
I heard you wanted to apologize, but two words don't wipe out six years.
And I never will let you forget it
And every night I hope you cry out your eyes.
Every day I saw you, I felt nauseous. And I still do.
Every time you cry, it makes my day. I hope you're crying right now.

We Belong Together
I didn't mean it
When I said I didn't love you so
I should have held on tight
I never should've let you go
I didnt know nothing
I was stupid
I was foolish
I was lying to myself
I could not fathom that I'd ever
Be without your love
Never imagined I'd be
Sitting here beside myself
Cause I didn't know you
Cause I didn't know me
But I thought I knew everything
I've never felt.
The feeling that I'm feeling now
That I don't hear your voice
Or have you touch and kiss your lips
Cause I don't have a choice
Or what I wouldn't give
To have you lying by my side
Right here
Cause baby
When you left
I lost a part of me
It's still so hard to believe
Come back baby please cause
We belong together
Who else am I gonna lean on
When times get rough
Who's gonna talk to me on the phone
Till the sun comes up
Who's gonna take your place
There aint nobody better
Ohh baby, baby
We belong together
I can't sleep at night
When you are on my mind
Bobby Womack's on the radio
Sing to me
'If you think you're lonely now'
Wait a minute
This is too deep (too deep)
I gotta change the station
So I turn the dial
Trying to catch a break
And then I hear Babyface
I only think of you
As breaking my heart
I'm trying to keep it together
But I'm falling apart
I'm feeling all out of my element
Throwing things
Crying
Trying to figure out
Where the hell I went wrong
The pain reflected in this song
Ain't even half of what
I'm feeling inside
I need you
Need you back in my life baby
When you left
I lost a part of me
It's still so hard to believe
Come back baby please cause
We belong together
Who else am I gonna lean on
When times get rough
Who's gonna talk to me on the phone
Till the sun comes up
Who's gonna take your place
There ain't nobody better
Ohh baby, baby
We belong together
[Bridge]
Ohh , Baby , Baby
We Belong together baby
When you left
I lost a part of me
It's still so hard to believe
Come back baby please
Cause we belong together
Who am i going to lean on
When times get rough
Who's going to talk to me
Til the sun comes up
Who's going to take your place
There ain't nobody better
Ohh baby, baby
We belong together

Winter Of Discontent
The phone rang a day before Christmas a message I knew would come
but would not like to hear. Mother had died and there was a great haste
now before the festive season. Yet in my despair I picked up the phone
and rang her number in the hope it had all been a dreadful mistake…any
minute now she will answer be glad to hear my voice; and she would tell
me I’m susceptible to cold and remember to wear a scarf.
Fully awake I rushed to the airport, sorry fully booked till after Christmas.
“Please if there is a cancellation ring me.” The phone didn’t ring.
When I finally got there snow had covered flowers and her name was not
yet carved on a stone. This emptiness, this hole in my heart, I knew it had
to happen one day, but not now not ever. At her home they were busy
dividing her things. No I didn’t want anything only her reading glasses,
she had thought me how to read. A life had ended and for the first time in
my life I knew how it felt like to be alone under a cold Nordic sky.

I Heard An Angel Say
I thought I saw her face today
in the sparkle of the morning sun
and then I heard the angel say
her work on earth is done
I thought I heard her voice today
then laugh her hearty laugh
and then I hear the angel say
there's peace little one at last
I thought I felt her touch today
in the breeze that rustled by
and then I hear an angel say
the spirit never dies
I thought she had left me
for the stars to far above
and then I hear the angel say
she left you with her love
I thought I would miss her
and never find my way
and then I heard the angel say
she's with you everyday

Reason
Some people never learn
Keep taking every turn
A little fast
Thinking nothing ever lasts
Descending (?) oh so sweet
Keep playing in my sleep
But when I wake
I can never recall a thing
And the reason being
Gives reason to everything
To this charmed life that we lead
Something is crying out
Through voices in my tears
Hear the voice crying out
In the strangest memories
Never mind
And reason being
Gives reason to everything
To this charmed life that we lead
Sorry to disappoint you
I never said that I could tell right from wrong
So don't put your faith on me now
I'll leave you in suspension
Till you fall
And the reason being
Gives reason to everything
To this short life that we lead
And the reason being
Gives reason to everything

A silent phone call
I sat for an hour thinking of her
wondering about where she was
what she would be doing
and who she was with.
Then again I think of her a lot
because they say if you do that
that person will feel those thoughts
and get back in touch with you.
Who believes all that nonsense anyway
how can someone feel the thoughts
of another person miles and miles away?
I sat there thinking I'm thinking too much
and just as I was going out the door
the mobile on the table started ringing
bet that's another cold caller I thought.
It wasn't a cold caller but my mate
asking if I was going down the pub
told him no not tonight bit short of cash.
Putting my coat on the phone rang again
bet that's my mate going to buy me a few beers
he knows he'll get it back at the weekend.
No it wasn't my mate as nobody spoke
even when I asked who was there on the line
all I could hear was someone breathing.
The next night the silent caller rang again
and the night after that and the next night
then it stopped as suddenly as it started
no voice, no talking, no light breathing.
They say if you think of someone a lot
that person will feel those thoughts
and get back in touch with you,
who believes all that nonsense anyway?

Deadly Awakening
Frighting night woke from a dead sleep
heavy chest pains, struggle to move
wondering what is going on, I was fine earlier
no warnings, no pain before the sleep
what woke me up?
I will never know, god or a angel above
told me, I was lucky to make it to the hospital
could of been massive, might of passed
struggled with life, stressed with problems
Things need to change, life is to short
sitting in the ER wondering why me?
I been here before,5 years earlier
but a different way, jumped started 3 times
live to tell, my, I want to live
wonder if it's for a reason, a test I need to know
love to many to leave, not ready to go
missions and dreams to full fill
laying near death makes you think and cry
man or not, this is scary
will I make it the next time, maybe not
I will try to change, slow down, enjoy life
get rid of the stress and the rest
I don't need to die, I have to much will
I made it home this time, told me I was lucky
the symptoms were different, some how I knew
danger I was in, cried in the car and I don't cry
wondering if this was my time, I do not go
fight for life, live my dreams, love thy family
forget the pain, the past, work for the future
relax and breathe, life is precious
may I live for now, I have so much to give
poems to write, stories to tell
Thanks for life, love and dreams
My life is to give to you and enjoy

Loves About To Change My Heart
I never needed someone
cos I always led a life of my own
Never waited for the ring of the phone
Never had anyone here
When I got home
But loves about to change my heart
Im waiting for the doorbell to chime
When I always lived one day at a time
I thought that I was getting on fine
Never felt I was alone
til you change your mind
Loves about to change my heart
Could a day be so long
When I always felt secure and so strong
And all the time as I went along
Never thought I would desire
So much to belong
Loves about to change my heart
Loves about to change my heart, ooh
Never ever thought the sky was so blue
Never ever thought Id feel so new
Always thought Id know what to do
But I guess I wasnt counting on you
What did I know
I always felt so much on control
I thought Id make it all on my own
Never thought I would forget
All I have known
Loves about to change my heart
Loves about to change my heart
Loves about to change, change, change
My heart...

On My Knees
CHORUS
I can't fall down on my knees
And apologise to you
Cos that ain't my style
VERSE 1
I remember how we met,
It was on the train
How could I forget?
You smiled and you looked at me
The soft of your lips, it captured me
The whole ride down we kept our eyes on each other
And then we sat down together
You gave me your number,
Said Give me a call
I thought I wouldn't call at all
Here we are, fell in love
Like hand to glove
Pure bliss from above
Now all we seem to do is fuss and fight
We never seem to get it right
CHORUS
I can't fall down on my knees
And apologise to you
Cos that ain't my style (x2)
VERSE 2
I remember the night when we were home alone
You were on the sofa, I was on the phone
You overheard me call out my best friend's name
That's when you went crazy, started going insane
Grabbed the phone from my hand,
Backed me against the wall
Shouting and asking
Who was on the call?
You wouldn't believe me
When I said it's just a friend
That's when all the matters began
CHORUS
I can't fall down on my knees
And apologise to you
Cos that ain't my style (x2)
MIDDLE 8 (x2)
He's got you begging on your knees,
Crying in your sleep
Making you believe him
But you're stronger
Than you'll ever know, girl
You control your own world
No need to take no more
GHOSTFACE KILLAH-
And yo' I asked you to calm down
Asked you who was on the phone put the horn down
You had a glass of wine a Versace night gown, a lime green one
That I brought you for the trip from the cruise you won,
I don't approve of those male friends, (no)
I told you back then when we first got together, I don't trust those men
And you did it again I lost my temper, blinked out and wrecked the house boo
That's all I remember, I'm sorry

Anyone Out There
(words and music duran duran)
I never found out what made you leave
And now the day is over, just an hour to go
I tried to phone last night but you didnt answer
Just left me ringing on the line
Outside is there anyone out there, anyone else outside
Outside love is there anyone out there, anyone else outside
My face in the mirror shows the break in time
A crack in the ocean which does not align
I tried to sleep last night but Ive caught your dreaming
About days we used to wonder away
Outside is there anyone out there, anyone else outside
Outside love is there anyone out there, anyone else outside
Look out of the window maybe you can call by my name
Another night over babe another light comes on in vain
I tried to phone last night but you never answered
Just left me ringing in the air (outside)
Is there anyone out there

Summertime
Summer is here
You are in California
And I'm over here
It's driving me crazy
I just want see you
And hear your voice
For the last time
There is a wall
That you break down
I was surprised only
You could do it
Every since you break
My heart so many times
I change so much
I can't sleep, focus and
Kept crying over you
When I miss you so much
And need you
Even if I get rid your
Stuff I can't still get over you
I love and hate you
Noone can't help even
They try
Every time I look at your pictures, I think back on all memories we have together in class
Sometimes I wonder what would happen if I say yes
When you ask me out
Would I happier?
How your friends would take us going out?
The only reason I didn't went out with you is because
I was afraid of commitment
It was me, not you
I never felt like this before
I feel bad and I wish I just went out with you
Because of you I don't let anyone else in my life all because
I don't want to feel this pain and tear
Now I need to found love and sweet person to be with
Who isn't like you
You don't want me anymore so is best to just pick up my heart and glue it back
So I can forward and forget you

I Heard Her Cryin
(karen staley)
The whole night in the kitchen
Saying words well both regret
And you scream you were leaving
And you cursed the day we met
The sound goes above the slamming door
And broken dishes thrown around the floor
So loud it made us stop
It was the sound of a teardrop
Chorus:
When I heard her crying
Thought she was tucked away in bed
I heard her crying
Wish we could take back what we said
I didnt think she was old enough to know
Oh lord we must have hurt her so
When she begged you not to go
I heard her crying
Well Id have given anything
For time to erase
When I turned around and saw
Those little tears roll down her face
Oh my heart nearly broke in two
When she said
Mommy what did I do
To make you and daddy mad
Oh Im sorry I was bad
I looked at you and you looked at me
And we felt each others shame
Kneeling down to hold our child
Said she was not to blame
Now sometimes when were angry
And say things that arent true
We still love each other
And baby we love you
Repeat chorus
