A Flash Frog
Walking down this quiet country road
that I’d never walked down before.
A bullfrog jumped out in front of me
and said, “Hey man what’s the score? ”
I must admit I was surprised by him,
and by the way he rolled his cigar.
I also liked how he spun his cane,
he had style to spare by the jar.
As he spoke his gold and diamond teeth
sparkled, and made me close my eyes.
“Hey man, has some cat took your tongue
to swot away those pesky flies.”
“I’m sorry I didn’t understand your question,
what do you mean, what’s the score? ”
“I mean how are you doin’ today my man
and are you jumping off the floor? ”
“Oh right, yes I’m fine and well,
I suppose that I’m in the pink.
“Well that’s pretty cool my man,
would you care for a nip to drink? ”
From his pocket he removed a silver flask
and offered it to me,
but I said, “No, but thank you very much
I never drink before my tea.
“What are you staring at my man,
have you never seen a frog drink before? ”
“No, to be perfectly honest I haven’t,
I suppose I should get out some more.”
“Hey man you look under dressed
where is your gold attire?
You look positively naked man,
it’s clear you’re no high life flier.
You’ve been a disappointment to me,
this has been another useless day.
How can I survive as a highwayman
when gold never comes my way? ”
“Maybe you should lower your sights a bit
and don’t always go for gold.”
“And maybe you should shut your mouth,
with your style a century old.
I think that you had better go now,
you’re wasting my valuable time.
New clients will be coming along soon,
so get out of my firing line.”

The Legend Of The Angel
When God made the angels, not one of them knew how to fly.
They walked across Heaven not knowing all they could do.
God wanted to know how long it would take them to learn.
So He kept telling them to go to different parts of Heaven.
Off they went walking, walking, walking, walking, walking.
In time, one of the Lord's angels found out that he could run.
The archangels were completely shocked and they tried it.
Pretty soon, millions of angels were running across Heaven.
God smiled at them. We all have to start somehere, don't we?
God created a few upstairs' rooms in some of His palaces.
Wisely, the angels and the archangels walked up the stairs.
Even though they could run and run and run, they walked.
God smiled again, because He liked them to be careful...
As a reward, He transformed their wings into silver and gold.
The angels were amazed at these wondrous dazzling delights.
But, the thing is, silver and gold can be quite heavy at times.
Not one of the angels complained. Why offend the Father?
But, the thing is, silver and gold can be quite heavy at times.
After a bit, it got a bit too much for one of the smaller angels.
He was exhausted, huffing and puffing his way across Heaven.
The next time God called to him, he approached the Throne...
Father, could You take back Your silver and gold, please?
The Lord agreed and then the angel began to float in the air.
He flapped his wings nervously not knowing how to get down.
To his amazement, he started flying as the other angels stared.
This is so much easier than walking or running! He told them.
So they all asked God the Father to please let them fly as well.
All their silver and gold melted away and covered the streets.
As they didn't feel the need of these, they blessed Heaven instead.
From that day on, all of the angels could fly, it was so easy...
Then they understood why God had made some smaller angels.
He knew one of them would be tired out and had to ask for help.
Imagine if we had no setbacks, no weights to hold us down...
Alas, we haven't earned our wings yet, but maybe someday...
In the meanwhile, let's just feed the birds and watch them fly...

Rainbow Walking
If I walk to the end of my rainbow
will there be a pot of gold?
Will rainbow travel be worth
the hassle?
If I succeed
then suppose
I find that I am not as worthy
as other Rainbow Walkers?
If I am not,
I'll be exposed
as fraudulent.
