Hymn Written For The Twenty-Fifth Anniversary Of The Reorganization Of The Boston Young Men’s Christian Union

OUR Father! while our hearts unlearn
The creeds that wrong thy name,
Still let our hallowed altars burn
With Faith's undying flame!

Not by the lightning-gleams of wrath
Our souls thy face shall see,
The star of Love must light the path
That leads to Heaven and Thee.

Help us to read our Master's will
Through every darkening stain
That clouds his sacred image still,
And see Him once again,

The brother man, the pitying friend
Who weeps for human woes,
Whose pleading words of pardon blend
With cries of raging foes.

If 'mid the gathering storms of doubt,
Our hearts grow faint and cold,
The strength we cannot live without
Thy love will not withhold.

Our prayers accept; our sins forgive;
Our youthful zeal renew;
Shape for us holier lives to live,
And nobler work to do!

Happy Easter 2006!

A poor lamb cries incessantly: it’s tied!
It knows its heading to the slaughter-house!
It can’t escape: they’d raised it for this sake;
It weeps for mercy: but ’tis its last ride!

The Lamb of God- Jesus suffered like-wise!
The sins of mankind gave him Death by Cross;
Redeeming sinners was His Father’s Will;
At Calvary, He paid the precious price.

Christ uttered not a single cry for woes;
His example was silent obedience;
His Father’s errand stood before His eyes;
He pleaded God to forgive all his foes.

If He had wished, he could have changed his fate!
His divine pow’rs could have come to his aid;
His Messianic Mission was supreme;
He trounced the devils, death: and reached God’s gate.

The endless love of God for souls is clear;
Heaven is open now to sinners too
Who ask God’s pardon for their sins: REPENT;
The Savior brought heaven to all so near!

Oh, what a joyful Feast is Easter then!
The righteous die to live eternally!
The Breath of Life that came by Maker’s Word
Desires that all should enter Heaven!
“Wish you all a Happy Easter,2006! ”

An Indian Love Song

He

Lift up the veils that darken the delicate moon
of thy glory and grace,
Withhold not, O love, from the night
of my longing the joy of thy luminous face,
Give me a spear of the scented keora
guarding thy pinioned curls,
Or a silken thread from the fringes
that trouble the dream of thy glimmering pearls;
Faint grows my soul with thy tresses' perfume
and the song of thy anklets' caprice,
Revive me, I pray, with the magical nectar
that dwells in the flower of thy kiss.

She

How shall I yield to the voice of thy pleading,
how shall I grant thy prayer,
Or give thee a rose-red silken tassel,
a scented leaf from my hair?
Or fling in the flame of thy heart's desire the veils that cover my face,
Profane the law of my father's creed for a foe
of my father's race?
Thy kinsmen have broken our sacred altars and slaughtered our sacred kine,
The feud of old faiths and the blood of old battles sever thy people and mine.

He

What are the sins of my race, Beloved,
what are my people to thee?
And what are thy shrines, and kine and kindred,
what are thy gods to me?
Love recks not of feuds and bitter follies,
of stranger, comrade or kin,
Alike in his ear sound the temple bells
and the cry of the muezzin.
For Love shall cancel the ancient wrong
and conquer the ancient rage,
Redeem with his tears the memoried sorrow
that sullied a bygone age.

Where Love Glows

Where love glows warmly from within,
God's Spirit's welcomed there,
Such that each heart can turn from sin
And shine beyond compare...
For love glows like a furnace flame,
It brings both heat and light
And those who love can't stay the same,
For they must do what's right.

It like their hearts are filled with love,
With Christmas joys and more!
God's gifts and grace will prove enough
For those who would stay pure...
Consider rainbows in the sky
That cast dark clouds away!
Or dazzling dolphins leaping high
To celebrate each day!

Where love glows warmly from within,
It melts away the past,
Such that each lives new souls to win
Till Heaven comes at last...
Let God's love kindle broken hearts,
Reborn to live anew...
For truly that's when beauty starts,
With words like, 'I love you! '

Heaven & Love

Heaven is filled with hearts with no understanding
Love is filled with complications
Heaven Is something you beleive in
Love is somethung you trust
Heaven is a path to spirit
Love is a guide to friendship
Heaven is what leads the way
Love is what leads your way

Without Heaven and love
We wouldn't be here
Hearts get broken
but then they are stiched back up with something new to their life
So don't lay down 1 single tear
There is no point, only a smile is a token
even if you are husband and wife
boyfriend girlfriend
or even just a friend
Heaven & Love lights the path to the world
It lights the path for you!

Heaven is made by god
love is made by you!

As It Is In Heaven

Lyrics: traditional
Music: michael w. smith
Our father, which art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Our father, which art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Our father, which art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Hallowed be thy name
Our father, which art in heaven
Our father
Hallowed be thy name
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day
Our daily bread
And forgive us our debts
As we forgive our debtors
Our father, which art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Our father, which art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us, deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom, and all the power
And the glory
Forever amen
Our father, which art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven

Come, O Creator Spirit, come

Come, O Creator Spirit, come,
and make within our heart thy home;
to us thy grace celestial give,
who of thy breathing move and live.

O Comforter, that name is thine,
of God most high the gift divine;
the well of life, the fire of love,
our souls' anointing from above.

Thou dost appear in sevenfold dower
the sign of God's almighty power;
the Father's promise, making rich
with saving truth our earthly speech.

Our senses with thy light inflame,
our hearts to heavenly love reclaim;
our bodies' poor infirmity
with strength perpetual fortify.

Our mortal foes afar repel,
grant us henceforth in peace to dwell;
and so to us, with thee for guide,
no ill shall come, no harm betide.

May we by thee the Father learn,
and know the Son, and thee discern,
who art of both; and thus adore
in perfect faith for evermore.

John Bede Polding

With reverent eyes and bowed, uncovered head,
A son of sorrow kneels by fanes you knew;
But cannot say the words that should be said
To crowned and winged divinities like you.

The perfect speech of superhuman spheres
Man has not heard since He of Nazareth,
Slain for the sins of twice two thousand years,
Saw Godship gleaming through the gates of Death.

And therefore he who in these latter days
Has lost a Father — falling by the shrine,
Can only use the world’s ephemeral phrase,
Not, Lord, the faultless language that is Thine.

But he, Thy son upon whose shoulders shone
So long Elisha’s gleaming garments, may
Be pleased to hear a pleading human tone
To sift the spirit of the words I say.

O, Master, since the gentle Stenhouse died
And left the void that none can ever fill,
One harp at least has sorrow thrown aside,
Its strings all broken, and its notes all still.

Some lofty lord of music yet may find
Its pulse of passion. I can never touch
The chords again — my life has been too blind;
I’ve sinned too long and suffered far too much.

But you will listen to the voice, although
The harp is silent — you who glorified
Your great, sad gift of life, because you know
How souls are tempted and how hearts are tried.

O marvellous follower in the steps of Christ,
How pure your spirit must have been to see
That light beyond our best expression priced
The effluence of benignant Deity.

You saw it, Father? Let me think you did
Because I, groping in the mists of Doubt,
Am sometimes fearful that God’s face is hid
From all — that none can read His riddle out!

A hope from lives like yours must everywhere
Become like faith — that blessing undefiled,
The refuge of the grey philosopher —
The consolation of the simple child.

Here in a land of many sects, where God
As shaped by man in countless forms appears,
Few comprehend how carefully you trod
Without a slip for two and forty years.

How wonderful the self-repression must
Have been, that made you to the lovely close
The Christian crowned with universal trust,
The foe-less Father in a land of foes.

How patiently — with how divine a strength
Of tolerance you must have watched the frays
Of fighting churches — warring through the length
Of your bright, beautiful, unruffled days!

Because men strove you did not love them less;
You felt for each — for everyone and all —
With that same apostolic tenderness
Which Samuel felt when yearning over Saul.

A crowned hierophant — a high Chief-Priest
On flame with robes of light, you used to be;
But yet you were as humble as the least
Of those who followed Him of Galilee.

‘Mid splendid forms of faith which flower and fill
God’s oldest Church with gleams ineffable
You stand, Our Lord’s serene disciple still,
In all the blaze which on your pallium fell.

The pomp of altars, chasubles, and fires
Of incense, moved you not; nor yet the dome
Of haughty beauty — follower of the Sires —
Who made a holiness of elder Rome.

A lord of scholarship whose knowledge ran
Through every groove of human history, you
Were this and more — a Christian gentleman;
A fount of learning with a heart like dew.

O Father! I who at your feet have knelt,
On wings of singing fall, and fail to sing,
Remembering the immense compassion felt
By you for every form of suffering.

As dies a gentle April in a sky
Of faultless beauty — after many days
Of loveliness and grand tranquillity —
So passed your presence from our human gaze.

But though your stately face is as the dust
That windy hills to wintering hollows give,
Your memory like a deity august
Is with us still, to teach us how to live.

Ah! may it teach us — may the lives that are
Take colour from the life that was; and may
Those souls be helped that in the dark so far
Have strayed, and have forgotten how to pray!

Let one of these at least retain the hope
That fine examples, like a blessed dew
Of summer falling in a fruitful scope,
Give birth to issues beautiful and true.

Such hope, O Master, is a light indeed
To him that knows how hard it is to save
The spirit resting on no certain creed
Who kneels to plant this blossom on your grave.

Riddle 2

EMPRESS of Art, for thee I twine
This wreath with all too slender skill.
Forgive my Muse each halting line,
And for the deed accept the will!

* * * *

O day of tears! Whence comes this spectre grim,
Parting, like Death's cold river, souls that love?
Is not he bound to thee, as thou to him,
By vows, unwhispered here, yet heard above?

And still it lives, that keen and heavenward flame,
Lives in his eye, and trembles in his tone:
And these wild words of fury but proclaim
A heart that beats for thee, for thee alone!

But all is lost: that mighty mind o'erthrown,
Like sweet bells jangled, piteous sight to see!
"Doubt that the stars are fire," so runs his moan,
"Doubt Truth herself, but not my love for thee!"

A sadder vision yet: thine aged sire
Shaming his hoary locks with treacherous wile!
And dost thou now doubt Truth to be a liar?
And wilt thou die, that hast forgot to smile?

Nay, get thee hence! Leave all thy winsome ways
And the faint fragrance of thy scattered flowers:
In holy silence wait the appointed days,
And weep away the leaden-footed hours.

A Sun-Day Hymn

LORD of all being! throned afar,
Thy glory flames from sun and star;
Centre and soul of every sphere,
Yet to each loving heart how near!

Sun of our life, thy quickening ray
Sheds on our path the glow of day;
Star of our hope, thy softened light
Cheers the long watches of the night.

Our midnight is thy smile withdrawn;
Our noontide is thy gracious dawn;
Our rainbow arch thy mercy's sign;
All, save the clouds of sin, are thin!

Lord of all life, below, above,
Whose light is truth, whose warmth is love,
Before thy ever-blazing throne
We ask no lustre of our own.

Grant us thy truth to make us free,
And kindling hearts that burn for thee,
Till all thy living altars claim
One holy light, one heavenly flame!

Brother To Brother

Brother to brother
Now we must join our hearts and hands
Yeah, if we love one another
We hold the key to the promised land
Think of all that weve been through
The shucks and jives and royal blues
Let us pray our time will come
When this world will live as one
Brother to brother
Now dont let the devil get you down
Oh cause its bread and its butter
That makes this whole damn world
Go round and round
Do you know where we went wrong
Tell me why the lines are drawn?
And let us break our boundries down
And live our lives on common ground
Oh mothers and fathers
Where will tomorrows children be?
Oh brother, my brother
Let us live our lives in peace
Brother to brother
Brother to brother

Three Words

Three laconic words I love you enshroud
The hearts of those of dead love
Angels whom hide behind love's cloud
Below here on earth from up above
Each line a line in their ivory dipped wings
I love you I love you captivate
Thine hearts of hearts the angels sing
As our hearts draw close and gravitate
Dead words in dead song the poet grieves
At the grave of love of dead grizzled white
To resurrect thee with I love you he believes
In love, every love, love at first sight
As the clouds, separate and light shine through
All hearts eyes gaze and learn
It's true, it's true
In the words I love you we burn….

Let Love Live In Your Eyes

With every single smile you make,
Let love live in your eyes.
As sunshine through dark clouds would break,
To cut them down to size...
For love brings hope to weary hearts
When hope is all worn out...
True love is how God's music starts
And praise dispels all doubt...

With every good deed that you do,
Let love live in your eyes,
Such that you can say, 'God bless you! '
And other words as nice...
For words have powers all their own
That brighten up our day,
To soften even hearts of stone,
To turn their wrath away...

With every single whispered prayer,
Let love live in your eyes,
Yet cast on God your every care,
For He alone is wise...
He guides us every day we live,
He grants us sleep each night...
Through Jesus Christ God can forgive,
Then help us do what's right...

With every blessing praise the Lord
With Holy Spirit joy...
For God it is to be adored
Through psalms that we employ.
Like David, let us each recall,
God's glory fills the skies!
Like Peter, John and James and Paul,
Let love live in your eyes...

Called To Soon

this is dedicated to leslies nephew- our prayers are with him

we saw the smile upon your face when
you felt the LORDS tender embrace.
when he told you it was time for you to depart
but that you'd always be in our hearts.

you went with our LORD, for you knew
that we would be sad 'it's true.'
but there is a better place in time
that we would all meet.
while HE sat on his heavenly seat.

judging all that came this way
which ones would go and which would stay.

but he knew that in our hearts
you became a very big part.
so through these gates we will pass
to gaze upon your face once again.
for here, you found many a friend.

your smile will light up our face once more
and the flame will reignite in our hearts,
and you will hear the words that
we all wanted to say
and to the LORD, we did pray.

we prayed that you would be our shining light
and through our prayers, we'd feel the LORDS might.

Tear It All Down

I walk thru the streets of my old town
Trying to remember all the feelings
But the only feeling was that something
Sweet had come and gone for everyone
Theres factories in the fields where we used to run
Theres a hard day coming for us daughters and sons
Wake up, some things had better change
Tear it all down and starting here and now
Let it all burn, so many souls in pain
Tear it all down, too many hearts in doubt
Were never gonna learn
All of the treasures we own
God bless the house, the car and the t.v.
They built us a prison without any locks
And meanwhile the men who claim God on their side
Spit out their message and sell me a ride
While we look for idols inside a fashion magazine
Things are gonna change
Tear it all down and starting here and now
Let it all burn, so many souls in pain
Tear it all down, too many hearts in doubt
Were never gonna learn, theres a wall to keep us in
Tear it all down, and walls to keep us out
Let it all burn, too many souls in pain
Tear it all down, too many hearts in doubt
Were never gonna learn
Lying naked here in the shrine of your embrace (your embrace)
We touch the burning cauldron to your angel face (angel face)
I look at my boy as he sleeps
An innocent facing the lions
I wish there was some way I could talk to my father again
Theres a bomb in the schoolhouse
Wired to the face of the clock
In the face of disaster we stand like a rock
You cant want youre children to pay for your sins wake up
Some things are gonna change
Tear it all down, some things are gonna fall
Tear it all down, we cant go back again
Tear it all down, with backs against the wall
Tear it all down, theres a wall to keep us in
Tear it all down, theres a wall to keep us out
Let it all burn, too many souls in pain
Tear it all down, too many hearts in doubt
Tear it all down, some things are gonna fall
Tear it all down, we cant go back again
Tear it all down, with backs against the wall

Where I Work

I work here,
Collecting sins of soulless souls.
Who had covered them from some sore skins
And their tongue naked,
I don’t know, why?

I work here,
In this weird game where I’m the judge
To judge between wrong and wrong.
For nothing I work in this dismal earth,
I don’t know, why?

I work here,
Where the bleaks and I live together,
But like oil in the water, I am
Where I cannot merge with them,
I don’t know, why?

I work where,
in dark mournful place!
I sign the pages of sins unknown
Making the puppets of liars
In the depth, a burning earth more than sun
Oh thou painful sins! I blame to thee
Another raging sun; all ‘cause of me
But I don’t know why?

Save Them Father

Father you are always on my mind, I love you Father and trust
in you with all my heart. I have no questions for your decisions,
my faith is strong and true.

Father I’m in awe when I look around this world, when I stand
and take in the awesome views, I know this is the work of the
Master, and that Master for certain is you.

This morning Father I pray for those without faith, who can not
see pass their noses. They have eyes that function, but they
truly can not see.

Father give these blind people the ability to come out from their
deadened shells, touch them with your spirit, let them see the
light.

Oh Father God, drench them with your love so they make no
mistake. Take them by the hand so some day they too will
walk through Heaven’s Gate.

Father sometime young people are taken in by those who have
no interest in their soul but only in the money that they hold.
The devil’s people live among us, taking advantage of many.

Your children need your guidance Father and your continued
patience for I truly believe some day they will come out of the
darkness, walk into the light and face the truth.

Father I leave these people to you, in your caring hands. May
they make Jesus the center of their lives and join their brothers
and sisters who know the truth, save them Father.

I Love you Father and I ask this Lord in the name of your only
Son Jesus.-Amen

Bible in Poetry: 1 John 3

Children of God, that we are called,
Reveals our Father’s love lavished.
The reason why world doesn’t know us,
Is because they don’t know Him yet.

We are children of God, dear friends:
We know that when He reappears,
Like Him, we shall be, and see Him;
The one who has this hope within,
Will keep himself pure and not sin.

All sinners break the laws of God,
And sin is lawlessness and odd;
So, Jesus came to take our sins,
Although in Him, there is no sin.
The one who lives in Him won’t sin;
The one who sins cannot see Him.

Do not let one lead you astray;
The one who does right is righteous;
The sinner is of the devil;
Devils have sinned from beginning;
The reason why the Son of God
Came, was to destroy devils’ work.

If born of God, you can’t sin on;
The seed of God remains in you.
God’s children are known in this way;
The one who does not do things right,
Is not a child of God and light;
So’s one who does not love brethren.

Love One Another:

This is the message, you have heard,
From beginning that you all should,
Love one another as God told;
Don’t be like Cain who killed brother,
Out of the jealousy He had;
His brother’s actions were righteous;
His own actions were evil ones.

Don’t be surprised if world hates you,
Because we love our brothers then,
We’ve passed from death to life endless;
The one who loves not is all dead;
One who hates brother is murderer;
The latter have no eternal life.

How can we know what love is then?
Christ Jesus laid His life for us;
We must give lives for our brothers;
If you have worldly possessions,
And do not help the one in need,
How can God’s love be in Him then?

Dear Children lets not love with words,
Or tongue but by actions in truth;
We will then know we are in truth
In God, we set our hearts at rest,
For God is greater than our hearts;
He knows all things in entirety.

If our hearts don’t condemn us then,
Before God, we have confidence;
And get from Him whatev’r we ask,
Because we obey His commands,
And do whatever pleases Him.

His command’s to believe His Son,
Begotten, Jesus Christ by name,
And love others as He commands;
If we obey, we live in Him;
He also lives in his beloved;
We know this by spirit He gave!

Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee

Joyful, joyful, we adore thee
God of glory, lord of love
Hearts unfold like flowers before thee
Opening to the sun above
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness
Drive the dark of doubt away
Giver of immortal gladness
Fill us with the light of day
All thy work with joy surround thee
Earth and heaven reflect thy rays
Stars and angels sing around thee
Center of unbroken praise
Field and forest, vale and mountain
Chanting bird and flowing fountain
Call us to rejoice in thee
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah,rejoice
Mortals, join the mighty chorus
Which the morning stars began
Father love is reignning oer us
Brother love binds man to man
Ever singing, march we onward
Victors in the midst we strife
Joyful music leads us sunward
In the triumph song of life
In the triumph song of life
