Into Your Waking Life
Under the chalky light
and in between frontiers,
you swam like seraphs
Your larcenous feet gliding
like wingless serendipity
You osculate with beauty
Two hands interlaced,
one heartbeat shared
I stagger at this art
frail untouchable divinity
Veiled in immaculate gradients
in a salient heraldry,
in an intimate blear,
there is an embarrassed pang
underneath it all
and it is not even jealousy
I raised my goblet
into the roofless eve
but the destitute toast
remained unrequited
and I succumb to somnolence
as your silhouettes danced
and fade away from here
into the waking life
but I opt to remain unchanged
in this picturesque solitariness

Silhouette (live)
Silhouettes, silhouettes, silhouettes,
Silhouettes, silhouettes, silhouettes.
Took a walk and passed your house late last night,
All the shades were pulled and drawn way down tight.
From within the dim light cast two silhouettes on the shade.
Oh what a lovely couple they made.
Put his arms around your waist, held you tight.
Kisses i could almost taste, in the night.
Wondered why i'm not the guy whose silhouettes on the shade.
I couldn't hide the tears in my eyes.
Silhouettes, silhouettes, silhouettes,
Silhouettes, silhouettes, silhouettes.
Lost control and rang your bell, i was sore,
"let me in or else i'll beat down your door".
Saw two strangers who had been two silhouettes on the shade,
My heart skipped a beat i was on the wrong street.
Rushed down to your house with wings on my feet,
Loved you like i've never loved you my sweet.
Vowed that you and i would be, two silhouettes on the shade.
All of our days two silhouettes on the shade.
Silhouettes, silhouettes, silhouettes,
Silhouettes, silhouettes, silhouettes.
Two silhouettes on the shade.

Stagger Lee
The night was clear, and the moon was yellow
And the leaves came tumblin down. . .
I was standin on the corner
When I heard my bull dog bark.
He was barkin at the two men
Who were gamblin in the dark.
It was stagger lee and billy,
Two men who gambled late.
Stagger lee threw a seven,
Billy swore that he threw eight.
Stagger lee, said billy,
I cant let you go with that.
You have won all my money,
And my brand-new stetson hat.
Stagger lee went home
And he got his .44.
He said, Im goin to the ballroom
Just to pay that debt I owe.
(bridge)
Go, stagger lee
Stagger lee went to the ballroom
And he strolled across the ballroom floor.
He said you did me wrong, billy.
And he pulled his .44.
Stagger lee, said billy,
Oh, please dont take my life!
Ive got three hungry children,
And a very sickly wife.
Stagger lee shot billy
Oh, he shot that poor boy so hard
That a bullet went through billy
And broke the bartenders bar.
Go, stagger lee, go, stagger lee!
Go, stagger lee, go, stagger lee!

I Danced
I danced before I had two feet.
Sang before I had a tongue.
I laughed before I had two eyes.
Loved before my heart was young.
I swam before I had two hands
And held the distance in my toes.
Before I heard the stars I knew
The wild compulsion of the rose.
I bore the fruits of many lies.
Before I came into this day.
I knew before my grave was made,
The worms eat only death away
The worms eat only death away
I danced before I had two feet
I danced before I had two feet
I danced before I had two feet
I danced before I had two feet.

Without You
On the wings of the night
I wager for another glance
the doors were closed
even before the departure
but the windows are ajar
on your open sleep
There is a limbo behind
the beseeching and crestfallen
but this yearning cannot lie,
its veracity cannot be tamed
so I tethered myself, caged myself
until I grew more savage
and even more desperate
I miss you and I miss you
too much that it would kill
like a lynch embracing tight,
you descend into my skin
like a fang and every night,
you come with larcenous feet
like a saccharine death on a slumber
Vines embraced the epitaph
and the etched date slurred
There is a brooding loneliness
underneath this sleeping grave
but it won't hatch in this cold
until your raging flame pounce
Yonder, under the moon
I can feel you shudder
and the shuffling of your feet
as you danced in oblivion
and I envy the night
as it pranced with you
The bones shivered
but it melt into ashes
and the wind won't ferry it
and the sea won't sink it
I need your final clout
or your familiar joust
Without you, the silhouettes
who stood as my beacons
for my derided weight
the days turned to dreams
and dreams turned to phantasms
I can feel a shattering
its fulmination trapped inside
my asylum heart

Your Closest Friends Are Dead
Look, fate is a finicky clamor.
Fate is a remote island,
Where nobody can reach
For the road to fate,
Is as jagged as the treachery
Of a thief as thick as blood.
-
Look, serendipity is dead.
It does not muse over your oceans,
It does not fly within your air spaces,
It does not burst in the eve of new year,
Serendipity calcified, serendipity is perverse,
It does not light up aglow in each verse,
Serendipity is your God, my God,
His God, Her God, that does not show itself.
(Sorry for the blasphemy.)
-
Look, the silence exists
Between the persnickety fate
And dead serendipity,
Silence, my only friend,
The cold hands of danger,
The pretense of forever,
As if bound by one fate alone,
That we never find one, only ourselves,
But then, the strongest men
Are the most alone,
Starved from the skin, hollowed bones
Silence, a scream as thin as ice,
Deafening, none would suffice.

Would I Marry You? In A Heartbeat!
Inner heartbeat getting fonder!
Inner heartbeat getting sweet!
Inner heartbeat makes me ponder:
So how come life's incomplete?
Inner heartbeat moving faster!
Inner heartbeat moving strong!
Inner heartbeat prods its master...
So how come the days seem long?
Inner heartbeat stirring new love!
Inner heartbeat stirring sighs!
Inner heartbeat like a warm glove!
So how come this feels so nice?
Inner heartbeat palpitating!
Inner heartbeat passion-filled!
Inner heartbeat can't stand waiting!
So how come that it's so thrilled?
Inner heartbeat seeks its solace...
Inner heartbeat seeks its treat!
Inner heartbeat seeks your first kiss!
That's true love... in a heartbeat...

Man In The Ocean
This is a song for the man who went down
This is a song for the man in the ocean
This is a heartbeat
This is a part of me
Everyone's reading in, in the papers
Feeling the fear and forgetting it later
This is a heartbeat
This is a part of me
This is the first step learning to fall
These are the wings, this is the call
This is the first kiss, bringing it home
This is the breath and the sex and the bones
And my hands, are full of life
And the rhythm in you, is the rhythm in me
And my hands, are full of life
Oooh, you make me feel
And this is the curse to the wave, that threw you
This is the shame of the years I slept
This is the glory, these are the tears
This is the longing in your belly
This is the siren in your veins
This is the light in the eyes of angels
This is the dark in the heart of danger
And my hands, are full of life
And the rhythm in you, is the rhythm in me
And my hands, are full of life
Oooh, you make me feel
We live forever our minds
A bit still we know there's never time
Enough to share the ones we loved
Enough to have to care to live above
I feel the chain that brings to time
I feel the way you left behind
I feel, this is a part of me
And my hands, are full of life
And the rhythm in you, is the rhythm in me
And my hands, are full of life
Oooh, you make me feel
And I know how loud a heart can beat
And the rhythm in you, is the rhythm in me
And I know, I know
Cause I've heard them scream
This is a heartbeat, this is a part of me
This is a heartbeat, this is a part of me
This is a heartbeat, this is a part of me
This is a heartbeat, this is a part of me

Pay No Obeisance Unto This Purgatory
Do not stoop down, dear friend
Walk underneath the moonshine
and bathe in her splendid light
Never conceal your agog shadow
praying for a moment of dancing
under her phosphorous luminescence
Walk through the seething fire
and bathe in the freezing hail,
wear your grandest masquerade
but never let the salient rivers
on your unfathomable mirrors
to slumber into abeyance
or succumb into oblivion and
forget the splendor of its radiance
Do not lean upon the thicket
of the looming trees around us
for they are rooted in a land
that will never quake and shatter
even when the gears relearn
their clockwork motions, for in the end,
desolation awaits alone
Seek the counsel of the flowers
and let them blossom with
the stashed lamentations
because these will be the bones
of the flaccid and lifeless silhouette
prancing and bowing haplessly
against the swooning of the monsoon
This will be the arsenal and turret
protecting the frangible beauty -
in the semblance of brambly thorns
slathering the slender body
Fall not into trepidation
and never succumb to defeat
as long as these slivers
of a shabby heaven
still manages to subsist
upon this purgatory.

I Danced My Life Away
I saw the faces of the moon...
the yawns of the stars at night.
The moon is wilder every minute
as I danced my life away.
I saw the last rays of the fallen sun
dying into a dance...dying as they fade.
The rain dropped slowly and dreams gather
as I danced my life away.
I saw as days turn to empty nights...
the beauty of the water as it sparkles.
But i never saw you-
so I danced my life away.

A Moth Slow Dancing In Flames
After dark
a solitary moth
clad in lackluster
traipsed across the humid air
circumnavigating dismal filigrees
like an ominous message
conveying the petrichor
It weathered the tedium
of its own gust
crumbling slivered dusts
and tread the astray thread
of light and warmth
to find a candle
weep floridly bright
Like hands reaching out -
hands shaped into
a house with an open hearth
it melted and undressed
while its sartorial flame
remain unscathed
The moth basked
in this unprecedented heraldry,
this munificent beauty
like how the wine
feign resplendence under
the moon's gentle bliss
and the moth spewed
the colours it eschewed
The saudade warmth
embraced the moth's cape
of shame and pride
and became its asylum
and gilded heaven
Slowly dancing in flames
because to burn out
is better than to fade away

Go stagger lee, go stagger lee
Go stagger lee, go stagger lee
Said, i m going to the bar room
Just to pay that debt that I owe
Stagger lee went to the bar room
Boy, he stood across the bar room doors
Said, now, nobody move
And he pulled out his 44
Stagger lee, cried billy
Oh, please dont you take my life
I got me three little children
And a very sickly wife
Go stagger lee, go stagger lee
Go stagger lee, go stagger lee
Got me three little children
And a very, very sickly wife
Stagger lee shot billy
Boy, he shot that poor boy so bad
That the bullet came thru billy
And went right thru the bartenders glass
While I was standing on the corner
When I heard my bulldog bark
He was barking up at the two men
Who were gambling in the dark
Go stagger lee, go stagger lee
Go stagger lee, go stagger lee
Well, he was barking up at the two men
Who were gambling in the dark

Heartbeat
Another summer, another vacation is over
A september morning with the sun and smell of the clover
Down by the gates we sit and watch all our friends go by
And pretend we dont hear the bell that rings through the
Summer sky
I was happy with the kisses she gave me
Its just that happy was she made me
Happy that was until I saw you
Chorus:
Heartbeat, heartbeat, why do you fail me now?
You hurt me, desert me in my darkest hour
Heartbeat, heartbeat, why do you keep me here?
How could I help but admire her beauty
Standing on the line between desire and duty
Heartbeat, heartbeat, it will end in tears
I need a lover that loves such a dangerous place to be
Oh, if we were meant for each other then why dont you answer me
Dont keep me waiting, you know that I long to be by your side
I was happy with the kisses she gave me
Now theres nothing on earth that can save me
Why should I care I can have you?
Chorus to fade

Looking Back and Away
Emotions swelling
like a storm taking form
Out of words,
cold tears worn
Vacant eyes watching dancing motes
a fictive space where spirits float
Profound reveries consuming me
and waking brings a hilt-deep agony
A cloudburst:
My spirit crumbles
and lamentations pour
I picture our finger interlaced
but yours are slipping out of place
and like an empty goblet I wished to fill
you sealed your lips and kept it real

The Art
From my wrinkling hands
the effulgence surges
into the blue veins
and to the tips of my fingers
it sublimates esoterically
Sometimes, it drew lines
and the latticework
becomes the ensnare
of the mad tarantula
that is my hands
Sometimes, like a butterfly
blooming from its chrysalis
it spread its wings for the wind
and its colours glide in search
for its own cradle of petals
Sometimes, its brown molt
folds like an origami and
becomes a moth inveigled
by sputtering tongues of flames
soon shall it burn and fade
Sometimes, it deflects
the words that cannot be said
or the poems that remain unread
into dithering silhouettes
that will remain unsculpted
And these shadows
born by fluid motions
and metamorphosing palettes
are the sprouts - veins crawling
from the unfathomable pit
of suppressed inkblots.

Evolvement
One can not live a life,
Refusing to accept its transitions.
Many state they will remain unchanged.
And unlike some they come to criticize,
They will keep their feet planted on the Earth.
With kept pretentions denied.
To not comprehend the evolving done,
When one from birth,
Back to Earth all are 'unconditionally' welcomed...
And no one is shunned,
Is a belief any one can remain unchanged,
On this Earth to be perceived as one to be 'earthy'.
To experience what they 'conceive' leaves them uncommon.
All are here to grow to bloom...
With a whithering to make room as nature chooses.
To be foolish about the changing phases of these transitions,
Is one observed to be afflicted with ego self inflated.
And here to judge self righteously,
How others bloom from a bud to nourish Earth's 'evolvement'.

Suitcases
I reckon in vivid pangs
like a salient entropy,
the pedagogy gnawing
in the sorry eyes
and the train arrives
confronting me with
my failures and losses
The first of the months
the weakening sanctum,
the constant rumination,
how we've been each other's asylum
now the suitcase's lock is defunct
and it is all spilling out -
I cannot hold it back
The arch your spine made
as you lower your head
on ponderous nimbuses
I was always at your back
but you never looked back
as your klutz feet escapes
from your past, your present
My sinewy hands percolating
amongst the fumbling words
your nimble silence still
knows how to decipher it all
and this belying gold
underneath the mud and stones
reminds me that we are
made of the same dreams and bones
And you, your hands behind the sun
I remember it like my own
the ashen pallor unmasked
by the summer's penumbra
How they tread what we all fear
stroking palettes, caressing words
you are a furtive cavalcade
I remember you hands
like how I remember your smile,
there were blue rivulets in them,
the tips are naked crimson
reaching past the mirage
but didn't cast a shadow
Like the bony moon transpiring
between day and night light
you reconnoiter my abysses -
a gilded debauchery
tarrying the train's clockwork oars
because the suitcase remained
broken, opened, larcenously swallowing.

Where Did Those Places Go?
We walked the lanes,
swam the lakes
and met together for lunch-time breaks.
We turned our eyes,
searched the skies
and parted sadly with goodbyes.
Where did those places go?
We danced the waltzes,
listened to Strauss.
We raised the kids.
Then they up and left our house.
Where did those places go?
We picked the clover.
When it was over
we wondered where did all those places go?
Time took them away.
One by one they slipped through our hands.
We could not make them stay.

She Danced Like Wolf
She danced like wolf,
Her eyes rocked his mind.
Waist gave an Invitation.
I lost my Love!
His voice turned coarse,
He didn't remorse,
I remained in a corner,
As a wingless Dove!
Her wildness became wilder.
Lips cocked like ever...
It drove him mad,
But I never did leave.
Many sleepless nights went by,
My bed was missing him.
Flowers of garden were no more,
There was only a withered Leaf!

Sundered Crags
With the sun obliquely gliding between your dusk
Raising its head to cast shadows over ivory tusks
Gnawing with stale porcelains and phantasms
At the bottom of the swelling sundered chasms
I ponder blindly on its clinging bite and dying graze:
"Can I fill in the gaps and caress the space? "
Between these sundered crags are four arctic seas
Calm with gargantuan serpents and deceitful harpies
Withholding fathoms and speculations of galaxies
Interlaced with a cordial invitation in garrulity
The penumbra of the aqueous mirror cannot conceal
From skyscraping crags no hands can reel
Unfathomable oceans, too dense to stifle
Can you cajole with the angry lips of a rifle
Where callow cesspools of undying pits
Is a goblet of fallen stars and potential fleets
I lunge in imperceptibly in its glacial skin
Purged with another wish, unknowing and asinine
Lofty towers, looming and faltering pensively
A treasure trove reverberating ballads mockingly
Stroke with safeguarding veil and clasp the dell
Divide the abysmal seas into laudable great parcels
Ineffable heights marred with profound depths,
A nativity to volition to consort these aloft clefts
Sundered crevasses, will you hold me?
And speak with me in language of contingencies
Salient oceans, will your tides take me?
Without caravels, or oars, or impulsivity
So will you seize my wish and build with me
Another yet impasse in a utopic society?
