The decaying leaves decamp from the flamboyant trees regrettably
And a virtuous traveler heard an old crow crowed on an isolated lamp post.
'Hey! Brother are you in a dilemma? '
The wanderer is familiar with the bird's dialect and he replies;
'Thank you dear, it's a pleasure to hear that someone call me as brother after a long time. Yes, it's really difficult to survive here without a job and I have already applied for a Gravedigger in a countryside.
But they query about my pedigree not qualifications.'
'Please do not worry chum, you add my details in your resume again as reference and the burial grounds would prefer definitely.' The old crow sighed.

The Crow and The Butterfly
Ever wonder why the Crow chases the Butterfly?
Have you ever heard the Crow let out it's cry?
I think I found out why...
It's quite the interesting story, I had to pry..
The Butterfly's beauty, the Crow's will never match.
The Crow's life is nothing compared the the Butterfly's since it's first hatch.
If you are good enough to get a Butterfly, that is quite a catch.
Get a Crow somehow and it gets thrown right back out to the patch.
The Crow has had it so much easier than the Butterfly.
Straight jealousy from the Crow because they have to share the sky.
The Butterfly's flight is reason to stare, the Crow's just reason to cry.
Everyone stops to get a glance of a Buttflies, a few Crows and people pass by.
So if you ever hear a Crow cry,
Or see a Butterfly being chased by a Crow,
Just think how bad that Crow wants to be a Butterfly.....

First Encounter - Brandon Lee
actor's autograph
Brandon Lee scrawls a tale of death

Brandon Lee, son of kungfu legend, Bruce Lee, was in Kuala Lumpur in the 80s to promote one of his Hong Kong movies. The actor expressed displeasure about the film in shopping complexes. I did not miss the opportunity to get his autograph in which he also wrote a message. It never came across as a prediction of his own death. It was about a man jumping and a death. His handwritings was a scrawl, almost like the scratchings of a bird. Brandon was killed in a shooting scene when filming The Crow. The pistol used was loaded - with a real bullet.

Ventrilloquist was he, little boy sat on his knee
The people knew that the show was but the best one in the land
Until the night before the act
The dummy's clothes had all been packed away - he'd gone
And he'd left poor mr. crow right in the lurch
You know he's gone far away
I hear his voice go laughing
What of all the years we shared?
Hello mr. crow has your little boy left home - did he run away

He sees the stormy anger of the world

As the Crow flies
There are certain species in the crow family.
This entirely glossy black bird never sings.
Carrion crow feeds on grain and the house crow is a reputed scavenger.

An old Peacock meets a Crow in a Cuckoo's wedding
'Hello! Brother we met after a long time.
Isn't it? ' Peacock greeted.
Then the crow said; 'Certainly, do you remember when we met last time at one eyed scavenger's funeral.'
'Oh! You have a good memory,
He drowned in the Mayor's sewage line if I am not mistaken.
What's going on in your proud city limits? ' Peacock gossiped.
'As usual, We get a scanty meal in the garbage bins on their pay days only.' Crow replied.
Cuckoo introduced his bride to old Peacock.
Then crow interrupted; 'She is my niece.'

INSIDE
Brother Seems they're letting him out next year
He's behaving himself, I hear
Governor Conway says it will be fine
Just as long as he can tow the line
It's the same old story
But it says here "Mum you're not to worry"
'Cos some you lose and some you lose
At this party, he was on his own
All he did was say he'd take her home
But it seems they didn't go straight there
'cos on the porch, she told him,
"put your hand here"
Yes it's that same old story
They told her mum she's not to worry
Police "If what she says is so,
we'll never let him go!"
Him "Never a word could be heard
Not even the sound of a bird
Singing it over again, telling a different story
Never the same as before

Throwback
I watched the American Crow on a lamp-post and it's crowing.
The accent and the language both are same as in my native place
And the colour too is the pitch-black.
But it complicates me, why it didn't accept my food which I threw over the ground?
Even the crow here is very rich and proud it seems, isn't it?

The Confrontation
The angry sparrow, narrow and light
fiercely pursued the thieving crow
slender beak stabbing
smooth black feathers,
rising and diving,
rolling and turning,
a vicious top-gun
dog-fight.
Then the crow, tired of torment,
set heavily down on the high lamp post
as the small bird circled, crying invective,
taunting the crow to rise again and fight!
but the old crow, patient and wise
settled comfortably for this shrill siege
and calmly waited for the air-show to end.
Finally, exhausted,
the sparrow gave up,
but claiming victory,
like Odysseus
nearly home
at last,
became Homer,
and composed his own
epic poem
of the fierce
midnight raven,
homewrecker
wrought low,
driven down
into death’s
bitter dust,
which, of course, he sang
in heroic,
avian meter
to his faithful,
Penelope.

Bird Life
Perched upon an old wheelbarrow-
Scrutinizing Crow,
commentated long, on all he saw.
Feathered friends, who came to wallow,
splashing in the bird-bath hollow
disregarded Crow's bizarre guffaw.
'Are you starling, from the meadow'?
asked the puzzled crow.
'You fit the bill and yet I see a flaw'.
'Tail feathers, long and narrow,
sharp as swallow's twin-pronged arrow,
force me to admit, I'm quite unsure'.
'I'm the Swarling from the plateau',
bird replied, 'Hello'.
'My plumage is unique and furthermore'-
'Meet my friend, the warbling Starlow,
deft in flight as dancing shadow,
blessed with starling beak and swallow claw'.
'Preposterous'! said crow with gusto,
'strange imbroglio'.
'You must be one or other, it's the law'.
To which the enigmatic duo,
chirped a ringing manifesto.
Crow could think of nowt to say, but 'Caw'.

I walk with my brother the Christian,
But I do not believe as he, I am not his Christian brother.

They know only their god, not one that I can know.
