Lara
Doctor Zhivago (Russian) is a 1965 epic drama-romance-war film directed by David Lean and loosely based on the famous novel of the same name by Boris Pasternak. It has remained popular for decades, and as of 2010 is the eighth highest grossing film of all time in the United States, adjusted for inflation.
The film takes place mostly during 1912-1923, against a backdropp of World War I, the Russian Revolution and Russian Civil War, as the regime of Tsar Nicholas II is overthrown and the Soviet Union established. A narrative framing device, set in the late 1940s to early 1950s, involves KGB Lieutenant General Yevgraf Andreyevich Zhivago (Alec Guinness) searching for the illegitimate child of his half brother, doctor Yuri Andreyevich Zhivago (Omar Sharif) , and his mistress Larissa ('Lara') Antipova (Julie Christie) . Yevgraf believes a young woman working on a dam project, Tonya Komarovskaya (Rita Tushingham) may be his niece, and tells her the story of her father's life.
As the Mother Volga river runs to the Caspian Sea
My soul haunts Lara in the film Doctor Zhivago!
The biggest part of Russia, Siberia
The surface always frozen like Lara's heart?
I hear the fine theme song of Lara
And I search the missing book in my trunk
Boris Pasternak's longest prose.
Russian Alphabet is called Cyrillic
A man named Cyril is said to have invented it?
Anyway I think of Lenin, Trotsky, Dostoevsky
Tolstoy, Turgenev, Gogol and Pushkin.
And when I woke up in the morning
I found my grandson's picture book 'Russia' beside me
And I spoke to my Son-in-law
How about a Vodka tonight?
Spasiba!

A Drifter as Driftwood
The knock-kneed girl who wears a knee cap, beautiful flowery knickerbockers and carries a knapsack?
A knick-knack around her slim neck and tossing a Kopeck in a narrow cobbled street she walks towards home the late evening.
I feel lonely myself with the sorrowful Sunset and before midnight I must go back to the ship as she suppose to sail early in the morning.
I regret that I couldn’t ask her name and I made a note in my diary with an asterisk.
I gave her a name “Stella”; my ships name.
She resembles the actress “Lara” in the film Doctor Zhivago.
I start to write a short story that would be an endless which I have to throw into the sea.
I see her fading land from far away and it’s like a peaceful dream.
I strum my old ukulele to the beat of ripples.
And the sleep peeps secretly into my disarray cabin.

In the Ravages of War
From the ravages of war
Imminent
The soul of the country has gone
Languishing
But the man who after thirty years
In his Italian suit
And crocodile skin shoes
Who apparently talked sense
Who was neither the idealist
The revolutionary
The mad man of masses
Nor a poet
Who lived in mansions
Who reappeared again
Who put his documents
With his youthful photograph
Who had gone old now
Not much
Who wanted his Mercedes to be allowed
To be imported
Who was a tycoon of transit business
Who had grown his fortunes
In many other countries
Who was all smiles
Obedient
Who may have rescued
Some Lauras*
From their lovers
To safe heavens
Who offered his visiting card
To be kept
For rainy days
Who was the man
Who sold the world
Wisely
In the ravages of war

The Russian drama began at the end of 1991, when the Soviet Union mercifully ended. Russia and 14 other new countries emerged from the ruins of the Soviet Union. Every one of those 15 new states faced a profound historical, economic, financial, social and political challenge.

The theme song of my fading Cinema
The sprinklers in our garden started without any command
And give a rain of showers,
Oh! Darling the miraculous spring has come again and see the flowers of happiness in the flower beds.
'Yes of course honey and do not forget that your birthday is nearby.
Please tell me what you want exactly? ' She sang in her melodious voice.
'Just a pencil, pencil-cutter, eraser and few pastels are more than enough.
I want to draw a big check and paint it nicely, also fix a swing in the back yard
And peep to our friendly bank manager's house next door.
Most probably the check could be cashed in a friendly manner.
Darling we could buy a house on a hill top your dream and invite our loved ones.
Oh! I realized the vast distance but they are the most proximate souls to our weeping hearts. Isn't it?
Also I want to buy a kennel for Marco for our precious son and we give him a familiar shout, definitely he comes home from his hiding place.'
*Dedication to the composer Maurice Jarre who's no more but I love his fruitful music (Lara's theme) to Dr.Zhivago.

Soul Doctor
Well I woke up this morning
Took your advice
I dialed the number
And I let it ring twice
Then I hung up
Now I tried to do
Everything I could
To save our love
And make it feel good again
I cant fight it, theres nobody home
Hard hearted and all alone
I give you love, you aint giving it back
I cant take it
I need to see the soul doctor
Before the fever begins
You know Im searching for the soul doctor
When love is wearing thin
Doctor soul is in
Ive been kicked in the corner
Im down in the dirt
I cant feel a thing
But I know it ought to hurt
Now your shaking my spirit
Im breaking my back
Im too blind to hear it
So I over react to satisfaction
If I could get me some
I aint talking, theres nothing to say
Misunderstandin, your walking away
Maybe baby, its gonna take time, time, time
I need to see the soul doctor
Before the fever begins
You know Im searching for the soul doctor
When love is wearing thin
Doctor soul is in
I need to see the soul doctor
You know things are looking grim
I keep searching for the soul doctor
Doctor soul is in
The doctors soul intention
Let it be understood
Cant pull the strings of my heart
I aint made out of wood
Now I take what I get
To get what it takes
Need a little bit a love
Got a whole lotta heartaches
I cant fight it, theres nobody home
Hard hearted and all alone
Maybe baby, its gonna take time, time, time
I need to see the soul doctor
Before the fever begins
You know Im searching for the soul doctor
When love is wearing thin
Doctor soul is in
I need to see the soul doctor
You know things are looking grim
I keep searching for the soul doctor
Doctor soul is in
Hey, a little bit of soul, oh yeah
Doctor soul is in
Heart and soul doctor
I need to see the soul doctor, soul doctor
Doctor soul is in
Doctor, doctor, doctor, doctor save my soul
Doctor soul is in
Ooh

An old promise of my friend
One of my friends a documentary film maker
Who promised me to give a role in his latest film.
The saga of an uprooted family live in a remote village
And I am their great grand father.
My photograph with a lame horse was hanged on the wall
That remained in the entire film.
At the end of the movie,
The camera focused on me a close up
And they found tears in my eyes.
I was the nominee for the best supporting actor.

Russian Roulette
Take it or leave it Ive heard it been said
All this spring fevers just way over my head
Stealing my moments, taking up all my time
Its playing russian roulette with my mind
Its none of my business baby just whats going on
Im not going to wait till somebody throw me a bone
Im way out on a limb now, and nothing seems to rhyme
Its playing russian roulette with my mind
I think that youve caught on, that youve been used and all
Im going down new orleans, Ive got to see dr. john
Got my mojo working everything will be fine
Stop playing russian roulette with my mind
Its not easy baby when everything starts getting out of control
Hang on your hat now, hang on to your soul
Dont worry baby, I wanna throw you the line
Theyre playing russian roulette with your mind
Too many hustlers, Ive been here before
None of them really know just who that you are
Everything gets contracted and space gets confined
Theyre playing russian roulette with your mind
Theyre playing russian roulette
Theyre playing russian roulette
Theyre playing russian roulette with your mind
Theyre playing russian roulette
Theyre playing russian roulette
Theyre playing russian roulette with your mind

The Film Of My Love
Co-starring you
And co-starring me
Starring us both together
The film of my love
Will travel the world
Forever and ever and ever
A back lot romance
A scripted affair
The screenplay a blessing from heaven
Were gone with the wind
On the orient express
To join the magnificent seven
The film of my love
Will travel the world
And travel the whole world over
The film of my love
Will travel the world
Over and over and over
The film of my love
Will travel the world
Over and over and over
Over and over and over again
Over and over and over
A close-up of yours
A long shot of mine
Superimposed together
Ill zoom in on you
With a love that is true
In cinemascope forever
A clapper board kiss
Theres an oscar in this
A hit or a miss whatever
A box office wedding
A premier for two
Well be on location forever
When pathe recall
The thrill of it all
Theyll edit us both together
A legend a classic
An epic of love
Captured on film forever
A lasting embrace
That time cant erase
Let them censor the wind
Or the weather
The film of my love
Will conquer the world
Forever and ever and ever
The film of my love
Will travel the world
And travel the whole world over
The film of my love
Will travel the world
Over and over and over
The film of my love
Will travel the world
Over and over and over
Over and over and over again
Over and over and over
Over and over and over

Russian Lullaby
Where the dreamy volga flows
Theres a lonely russian rose
Gazing tenderly
Down upon her knee
Where a babys brown eyes glisten
Listen
Evry night youll hear her croon
A russian lullaby
Just a little plaintive tune
When baby starts to cry
Rock-a-bye my baby
Somewhere there may be
A land thats free for you and me
And a russian lullaby

Girls On Film (Night Version)
See them walking hand in hand
Across the bridge at midnight
Heads turning as the lights flashing out
Are so bright
And walk right out to the four line track
There's a camera rolling on her back
On her back
And I sense a rhythm humming in a frenzy
All the way down her spine
Girls on Film
Girls on Film
Girls on Film
Girls on Film
Lipstick cherry all over the lens as she's falling
And miles of sharp blue water coming in
Where she lies
The diving man's coming up for air
'Cause the crowd all love pulling Dolly by the hair
By the hair
And she wonders how she ever got here
As she goes under again
Girls on Film (Two minutes later)
Girls on Film
Girls on Film (Got your picture)
Girls on Film
Wider, baby, smile and you've just made a million
Fuses pumping live heat twisting out on a wire
Take one last glimpse into the night
I'm touching close
I'm holding bright, holding tight
Give me shudders in a whisper,
Take me up til I'm shooting a star
Girls on Film (she's more than a lady)
Girls on Film
Girls on Film (Two minutes later)
Girls on Film
Girls on Film (see you together)
Girls on Film
Girls on Film (see you later)
