Gravestone
The dead soul cries;
'It's too heavy
And whole of my life
I carried much heavier stuff
And could you please
Take that and keep on a politicians grave? '
*It's funny thing about life; if you refuse to accept anything but the best, you very often get it.

Not a complaint or a request but a pulsation!
You took Paddy
And then his beloved wife
Who knows go there tomorrow?
But the handsome Warmongers
Do acrobats in the serene sky
And dropp their toy cluster bombs
To the innocent Human crops!

What has influenced my life more than any other single thing has been my stammer. Had I not stammered I would probably... have gone to Cambridge as my brothers did, perhaps have become a don and every now and then published a dreary book about French literature.

Despair Is Heavy
DESPAIR IS HEAVY
Despair is heavy
And I am heavier than I have been in a long time-
The cold and the dark and the damp
Also weigh me down.
I still can move
But more slowly now
And with much more aching.
When will the minor pain become paralysis?
And when will the weight kill me?
Perhaps I am done forever
And will never move again
And the weight will take me all the way down
So low I will not even be aware anymore of my despair.
It is a heavy day now
And I am too heavy a person
And Heaviness is in the air
And rules the Universe
And everything is sinking down
And falling into its own meaninglessness.
Life is heavy
I am heavy
Everything is heavy now and getting heavier.
