A Meditation Class
A friend of my beloved wife introduced the class
And the conductor is an Indian 'Guru'.
All the worshipers were kneeling while we entered
And the Guru said; 'Close your eyes and concentrate on breathing, take in and take out.'
What a fantastic exercise and now I realized you see everything when eyes closed.
Bombing in Afghanistan and severe blasts in Iraq
Arrears of my house rent,
Pending light, water and gas bills
Penalties and fines from different sources.
I feel very sorry for her
She groans a little after her day's strenuous work
But still counts the breathe it seems.
And I am bit scared that she might go to Nirvana straight
Leaving all the burdens on my shoulder.
She cooks and washes dirty linen
And she sweeps the floor with my sins too.
Never mind if she finds a better place
Where there is no sorrow?

Well, first, the situation in Afghanistan is much better than it was. But there is no comparison between Afghanistan and Iraq. Iraq has a bureaucracy, Iraq has wealth. Iraq has an educated class of people who are positioned to come in and take over.

I am neither a Guru,
Nor I can be that,

Sure to guide all! I am a teacher,

Back to Where I Belong
my body and i never meet eye to eye
the former always playing the other out
usually we go our own way doing each own business
so that sometimes we hardly recognise each other
a wrinkle has clawed its way through the side of the eyes
and it is not even telling me, keeping it as an open secret
so stealthily it always gets itself of me so near my eyes
and i am not even told
my friend alerted me but still i could not see myself
until i borrowed a mirror, yes the mirror seems
more helpful but still i could not see until i borrow
this pair of eyes snugly placed below the brows
yes, that's when the body is most generous
only then did i get to see the way it has tore through
my face, eagle flying, through the sky of fifty years
clawing at the core of my soul now, at my ego!
it is okay, one day my friend, these eyes
and even this body, my other friend, will bid me goodbye
one day they will all be gone leaving me alone in
a spot of of nirvana meditation where all the borrowed selves
take their leave, leaving me in a spot of nirvana

Waves Of Light
WAVES OF LIGHT
Indian guy blows light in my eyes,
It was glowing—totally mezmorized.
He says everything has a glowing aura
That he can see,
When he walks among the plants and the trees.
We are made of fast moving light,
we can’t see it in dark or night.
He says there is no karma to go through,
that we should just go with the flow and have fun too.
He lives in Vegas and travels the USA,
He was made fun of in India so he doesn’t go there today.
People don’t believe what they can’t see, so they don't conceive.
I will hopefully see Indian guru again,
have many more questions without end.

One day, Guru Ramakrishna
Told his disciple, Narendra,
“I shall now transfer
To you my spiritual power.”
Narendra got puzzled then,
And asked him, in turn,
“Will it help me in any way
To realize God from this day? ”
Guru replied, “No, it will not,
But in your work, it will assist.”
Naren said, “In that event,
Let me realize God first, ”
“I may misuse my power,
Forgetting God forever,
And if I use it for myself,

When he rejected power

Still in his rational mind,
He was trying to find,

The existing social differences,

That disturbed his thoughts.
The new Western culture
Over the old Indian culture,
Influenced the youth more
As a source of glamour.
He was no exception
To this prevailing situation.
He studied English literature
As well as their culture.
The Western philosophy
Their side of history,
And science, in particular,
He studied, over and over.
How the brain acted,
Also the spinal cord,
When one was in trance,
He studied at a glance.
All these steps he did,
They had only increased
Deeply his inner turmoil
And stirred his mind as usual..

In sorrow
She mourns her beloved son
What's next to follow
No one knows

Let Go Of Attachment
A guru said to his student
'Look at me, look at how I hug the tree.
Letting go of attachment the guru put his hands down
guru's hands pointed at the ground.
That's how easy it is to let go-
just let go and the universe will flow.
You will find things come to you-
some people might manipulate that's true
trying to make you react and be blue—
but that is their game they playin their mind
you can release them in no time.
Release them happily in your intent
it's that simple naturally when good endings are sent.

Surprise Before Christmas
was a couple of days before Christmas
And all through our house
Wrapping supplies were still scattered
When my wife first saw the mouse
I was dozing watching TV
When I hear her query
'What's that running across the floor? '
Her eyes showing signs of fear and fury
Then I saw it too and hoped it was
Heading out on his way back
It was a mouse for sure
Fury light brown with eyes coal black
I jumped to my feet
To see what to do
Could I be fast enough to catch him
Or just hit him with my shoe
I scared him all right
He again ran across the floor
Hid behind our presents
Instead of going out the door
Help was on the way
My son handed my a broom
My wife standing in her chair
Watching from the other room
Our daughter on her cell phone
Also seemed full of fright
I heard her asking a friend
If she could go there to spend the night
Then the mouse was gone
Fast as a shot
At least that's what I told my wife
I showed her the spot
'See the bottom of the new door
where the the rug used to be
That's where he went out.'
Sounded convincing to me
She made me check all the rooms
Even close up the chimney flue blockikng any crack
I thought better and didn't ask
How Santa was going to get in with his sack
Finally she went to bed
I was soon to follow
I'm sure she knew my promise of

The Hypocritical
So many people injured and more than fifty numbered with the dead
About the recent London bombings a lot has been written and said
Though such cowardly and callous attacks on civilians are happening in Iraq every day
That Country to us seems so foreign and from our thoughts seems far away.
One can only feel for the civilian casualties of London for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq they are not to blame
Though their Government will not admit to it at the sufferings of millions of Afghanis and Iraqis they ought to feel shame
They are part of the invading Coalition of the willing those who have managed for to stir up more hate
And though victory in Afghanistan and Iraq has been proclaimed one wonders what is to celebrate?
When I hear war leaders condemning acts of terror I say to myself how hypocritical they are
For to wage their wars on other Nations their fighter jets and their armies travel far
Thousands of civilians have died in their bombing missions though that to them seems quite okay
They do seem to have some strange values those who promote us against they.
The perpetrators of the London bombings their names not worthy of mention but the war leaders who condemn them no better than them 'twould seem
For them to wage war on other Nations is a boost to their egos and their self esteem
They must address the root cause of terrorism before the last hope of peace has gone
For if they keep on bombing other Nations then terror is bound to live on.
