A domesticate little sparrow
My photogenic faded tattoo bird flies in the frequent deadlier dreams
And I realized the time has come to demobilize her.
My darling! You suffered a lot with me in my lonely battlefield.
I am so sorry my dear sweetheart.
This resentful life is heavier than lead
And I am still sounding the depths.
I open the cage door for my petite colleague to let you free
And I have no regrets; Birds should fly at least once in their lifetime.
* The Buddha said ' One has to understand clearly that craving and attachment to material and immaterial things are the main roots of stress and depression.'
I dedicate this poem to my beloved wife Manel.

Stateless Bird
The retarded Freedom fighter who realized one day
his bird in the cage should get her retirement soon.
He regrets that her confinement is not fair at all.
A starry night he opened the cage door to let her fly
and he waited till morning,
but the bird still remains in the cage and twittered,
'Dear comrade now only you realized the true freedom
and you opened the door at last,
but I am not familiar with this sky.
Who is going to teach me to fly? .
Please close the door and let me leave alone
at least to get my last breath'.

A Sunday Prayer 11
Dear Lord I am coming today
to you for some answers,
which keep plaguing me.
Answers for which you can only give.
Why it is each time you seem to open a door for me,
yet when I reach it to go in,
the door slams in my face.
So many times in my life this has happened,
my life of joy one minute is lead to despair the next.
Yet to my friends the door stays open for them.
It makes me feel like crying instead of carrying on.
I give my unconditional love to everyone,
friend and foe alike.
Yet your love like my late parents
keeps turning me away.
What have I done so very wrong
you want to deny the goals I seek in my life?
I cannot deny you have given me things,
a loving wife and family friends from all over the world.
Therefore, why then do you deny my dreams of a better life,
and dash them every time they come close.
Dear Lord you know the answers,
please help me to understand.
Because without those answers
I do not feel any kind of man.
So I am turning to you
Dear Lord help me understand.

Explorations: XXV
a journey,
an evolution...
a life long forgotten
i lived
as many times as i died...
i laughed as many times as i wept..
i rejoiced as many times as i suffered..
ironically, every time i emerged a shade better,
not bitter, whatever i went through..
there's always a trade off...
though i lost mostly
unknowingly or knowingly
i traded the security
of a cage and gave up the sky...
no regrets...
no remorse...
one always gets
what one asks for, i suppose
did i ever live the way i wished
is it possible to live the way one wishes?
will i ever move out of the cage
i confined myself to?
am i not habituated to the cage?
isn't that simpler and easier way to live...?
only a free-bird knows of the difficulties
of the endless skies it flies across
let's see, my friend...
this journey
this evolution

VI
The tame bird was in a cage, the free bird was in the forest.
They met when the time came, it was a decree of fate.
The free bird cries, "O my love, let us fly to wood."
The cage bird whispers, "Come hither, let us both live in the
cage."
Says the free bird, "Among bars, where is there room to spread
one's wings?"
"Alas," cries the cage bird, "I should not know where to sit
perched in the sky."
The free bird cries, "My darling, sing the songs of the
woodlands."
The cage bird says, "Sit by my side, I'll teach you the speech of
the learned."
The forest bird cries, "No, ah no! songs can never be taught."
The cage bird says, "Alas for me, I know not the songs of the
woodlands."
Their love is intense with longing, but they never can fly wing
to wing.
Through the bars of the cage they look, and vain is their wish to
know each other.
They flutter their wings in yearning, and sing, "Come closer, my
love!"
The free bird cries, "It cannot be, I fear the closed doors of
the cage."
The cage bird whispers, "Alas, my wings are powerless and dead."

A Bird Story, The Hint...
watching you in full beauty
is an attempt of my hand to set myself free
i have the key and the door is not locked
there is no use for the key even
no one is locking me in and i am always
free at any time of the day to go
and be the wings of the bird that
my mind imagines every hour of the
waking day
there was once a bird captured by an enemy
put inside a cage and well feed
and well attended
it sings of freedom and love and beauty
in one sad song
the enemy decides to open the cage to set it free
the bird doubts this time
the enemy has become a loyal friend
the cage has become its sweetest home
the words are the same as arranged in that desired ending
ah, they all live happily ever after....

Happy Birthday Song
You are my love;
You are my life;
You’re all things to me,
Oh my dear wife!
My dear sweetheart,
If not for you,
Life would be empty,
What would I do?
My love for you,
No words can tell;
But it is so true;
May you live well!
My angel on earth,
Born for me, it seems;
You are my mirth,
My hopes and dreams.
Fondly dedicated to my beloved
Wife, Mercy, on her birthday

I Wait At The Door Of My Own Life
I WAIT AT THE DOOR OF MY OWN LIFE
I wait at the door of my own life
It does not open
The cities of the world go by
I do not visit them
Soon I will die
The great universe will go on spinning
My dreams will be forgotten
I wait at the end of my life for the door to open
And no one waits on the other side
I am alone with a lifetime of pages
Who will ever never read them?
This poem too waiting by the door
Knows it will never open.

Our Bird In Your Cage
we have this bird
we both own it and love it and care for it
our bird
and you have this cage
that you only own
golden, new and strong and as you say it
so reliable
that when our bird is in that cage
it will be safe
and cannot escape
we feed this bird together
and give it water and birdseeds
and a place of twigs and swing
where the bird can play
and perch upon
like it is on a tree
days and years
we keep this bird in your cage
and we see it is dying
and wanting to be free
yet you say, this sickness is just temporary
time heals what has wounded it
and shall forget the power of its wings
days and more years
we keep this bird in your cage
and i have not listened at all
to the sad song of that bird
her waning chirps
her weakened wings
her way of losing hold to the dreams of its wings
today we see this bird is dead
but you have no sadness at all
you say, you will buy another bird
again to be kept in your cage
i could have told you
i am the bird in your cage and i too have forgotten the power of
my wings
i could have told you, i have long died
and have forgotten what freedom is, what love is, what i am
in the first place. How can i ever tell you?
you are my cage.

My Love for You
My love for you has been the same,
As always from the very start;
For failures sometimes, I take blame;
In truth, I loved you from my heart.
Some things didn’t happen just my way;
Time did not favor me for years;
But things are so different today;
I know there can be no more tears!
You’re the only one in my life,
Until we must from earth depart;
You are my beloved and my wife!
So buck up lady, my sweetheart.
Fate played a cruel game before;
Lucre eluded me for long;
God opened me a newer door;
Let’s sing Him thanks-giving a song!
My love for you will never fade,
No matter what problems may come;
This is my promise which I made;
Nothing can break apart our home.
Let’s spend more time between ourselves,
And let our love grow even more;
Let no one come our way like elves;
And heaven-wards, our love must soar!
This is your ‘Happy Birthday’ dear!
God has been very kind to us;
Let’s forge ahead without a fear;
Our family, God will surely bless!

The Beautiful Bird On A Cage
a beautiful bird
is trapped
a boy transports
it in a cage
in their house in the village
the bird is asking some questions:
what crime have i committed
to deserve this sentence? :
is flying a crime?
little boy, do you really need to
keep beauty
inside your cage?
but the boy of course
in his youthfulness
does not care
he does not understand
his parents have not given him the need
to understand all these
his parents too
do not understand what flight is
what rights are
what beauty is
what cages are
and so life goes on and on
with birds inside a cage
boys devising traps
house having cages by their windows
parents proud of their boys
and boys watching the sadness of birds
every morning
in the little village

A bird escaping finally from its cage
Let me not speak about
This bird that finally finds a way
Out of its cage
New to its freedom
It whirls and circles the skies
A tryst with the wind
A feast with the sun
A dive to the sea
A rising up to the limitless
Space around it
Let me not speak about its
Final regret
Its wanting to be back in the cage
Again
Because for a time
It thinks again
It is really its home
Forever
The bird shall soon ask you
To open the cage
To spend its nights there
All its lifetime
Soon it will have the courage to say it
Freedom sometimes
Home it is not

In Our Lifetime
There are things
I cant tell you
I love you too much to say
I stand undressed
But Im not naked
You look at me and who I am
Understand that it is hard to tell you
That Ive given all I have to give
And I can understand your feelings
But then everybody has a life to live
Once in a lifetime
You have seen what Ive seen
You will always swim for shore
Once in my lifetime
Ill never be in between
Some things you just cant ignore
Now reach out
You can touch me
Ill let you have my life to share
Years, the days
And the minutes
Yeh time has such a puzzling grace
Understand that it is hard to tell you
That Ive given all I have to give
And I can understand your feelings
But then everybody has a life to live
Once in a lifetime
You have seen what Ive seen
You will always swim for shore
Once in my lifetime
Ill never be in between
Some things you just cant ignore
Once in a lifetime
You have seen what Ive seen
You will always swim for shore
Once in my lifetime
Ill never be in between
Some things you just cant ignore
I just need to have your love
I just cant say no
Its a gift from way above
I just cant say no
Its the one big difference
If theres one thing I can have
I just cant say no
I just cant say no
Yeh yeh yeh
Once in a lifetime
You have seen what Ive seen
You will always swim for shore
Once in my lifetime
Ill never be in between
Some things you just cant ignore
Once in a lifetime
You have seen what Ive seen

Be My Sweetheart
Sweetheart, be my sweetheart
When birds are on the wing,
When bee and bud and babbling flood
Bespeak the birth of spring,
Come, sweetheart, be my sweetheart
And wear this posy-ring!
Sweetheart, be my sweetheart
In the mellow golden glow
Of earth aflush with the gracious blush
Which the ripening fields foreshow;
Dear sweetheart, be my sweetheart,
As into the noon we go!
Sweetheart, be my sweetheart
When falls the bounteous year,
When fruit and wine of tree and vine
Give us their harvest cheer;
Oh, sweetheart, be my sweetheart,
For winter it draweth near.
Sweetheart, be my sweetheart
When the year is white and old,
When the fire of youth is spent, forsooth,
And the hand of age is cold;
Yet, sweetheart, be my sweetheart
Till the year of our love be told!

Teenage Blues
I was a cool dude teenage,
Whose worst rival was bondage,
I badly hated people stopping me,
And always wanted to be free,
I loved ‘Speed-Weed & Rock ‘n’ Roll,
Lot’s of Fun & Life out of Control’,
I loved my mom but didn’t like when she stopped me,
In doing anything I happily did with glee,
I always shouted and argued,
And didn’t even care if I was rude,
I always said, “Hey mom try and understand,
Why do you have to handle my life in your hands?
“Because I’m your mom”, she always replied,
With watery eyes I always moaned, groaned & cried.
We fought on the clothes I was ought to wear,
And my fattening diet about which I never used to care,
We argued on my messy room & things which I never stored,
Gradually with time I was really bored,
With all the ‘Ifs & Buts & Don’ts,
No’s & Why’s & Won’ts’,
The only thing I felt missing in my life was freedom,
Without which I thought my life was full of boredom,
I very badly wanted to be free,
And then one day I was what I wanted to be,
Because I had to shift away,
To a hostel where I could peacefully stay,
With no more quarrels, arguments & taunts,
I could live my life the way I want,
With ‘Speed Weed & Rock ‘n’ Roll,
Lot’s of fun & life out of control’,
Like a free bird I had fun for few days,
Then I started missing my old ways,
I missed our quarrels, arguments & taunts,
And could not understand what exactly did I want,
Then I realized freedom is like an open cage,
Incomplete without restrictions and bondage,
Whatever my mom said was for my own good,
This I realized and dumb-foundedly I understood,
That without her my life was a mess,
After that what did I do can you guess?
I ran to my room and picked up the phone,
Desperate to hear her sweet and squeaky tone.
After that I don’t think I’ll have to explain more,
My life became normal and I seriously swore,
That I’ll never quarrel with mom again,
And listen to whatever she says without giving her
anymore pain,
So people, this was my life story,
From which I took a lot of time for recovery,
Dear teenagers don’t act like donkeys,
And do whatever your mom says just like monkeys.

Morning Song Of Love
Darling, my darling, my heart is on the wing,
It flies to thee this morning like a bird,
Like happy birds in springtime my spirits soar and sing,
The same sweet song thine ears have often heard.
The sun is in my window, the shadow on the lea,
The wind is moving in the branches green,
And all my life, my darling, is turning unto thee,
And kneeling at thy feet, my own, my queen.
The golden bells are ringing across the distant hill,
Their merry peals come to me soft and clear,
But in my heart's deep chapel all incense-filled and still
A sweeter bell is sounding for thee, dear.
The bell of love invites thee to come and seek the shrine
Whose altar is erected unto thee,
The offerings, the sacrifice, the prayers, the chants are thine,
And I, my love, thy humble priest will be.
