A Sleepless Night
Starring out
at the star lit sky
To tired to sleep
Watch the night go by
The eerie sound
Of a hooting owl
Autum leaves falling down
The bold winds growl
Milk bottles rattle
Cats screeching
As they fight in battle
A falling star
Catches my eye
A distant dogs bark
Receives a reply
The clouds uncover
The midnight moon
That brings a pale light
To brighten my room
A branches shadows
Across my ceiling
Its approaching 4
I should sleeping
Lying next to my partner
Whose in deep slumber
What she is dreaming
I start to wonder
Its so intriguing
The world at night
The spooky sounds
The lack of sight
Resemblance to evil
Gives us fright
The night sky fades
At the break of dawn
A restless night
Now begin to yawn
An orange glow
Starts to creep
Above the horizon
I fall asleep

Power of the Night Star
The sun has set
The sky dusky brown
To remember you all night
I have that much right
To think about you all night
I have that much right
To worry about you
To care about you
All throughout the night
That is my right.
The sun sets down
And out goes the light
The world wears a gown
And sleeps all the night
For I also sleep, in my every heart beat
There is a dream for all that i keep
My night is prolonged
But dawn will come
Our faith love adorned
And spiritual distance not torn
At last my sun shall shine and rise
Oh all, lay down your heads
Close your tired eyes
Listen to loves lullaby
Aside your worries
Every moment happy
Sweetly sleep tonight.
In the night the moon shines light
And stars brighten up the sky
Your presence a star for me, Your smile
In this dark night we live out our life
Your guidance, You show us the right
The path on which with you we ride.

The significant sun
The glow grows by day
And the plants make food
Flowers bloom
Lovers meet
Nighttime heat
The sun shines not at night but
But by day
The birds of the air
Chirp a melody
Whistling and fooling
For the curious to see
Why they play
The sun shines not at night
But by day
He hides his glow
Cause he cannot bear to see
The fright of the dark night
And the rays are no more there
Instead cold, musty air
Cold as the heart of the night
Brought about by no light
The sun shines not at night
But by day
Joyful laughter emerges faces
Greeting the bright mourning
Leaving the eerie night behind
The sun brings hope
The night brings fright
And the innocent hearts
Too fragile to bear the sight
Closes its eyes and wishes
For light
The sun shines not at night
But by day

The Falling Leaves
it is not the leaves you care about
but the falling
it is not that the trees have become leafless ribs
or that the thorns and scabs have become so visible
it is not
but the falling you want to know
how does falling fall how does this falling feel
the past that pains you
the present that you do not give space
the future that you refuse to dream
i see you falling falling and falling like the leaves
that you are seeing this summer afternoon
for whom you love
they leave like birds flying away from the lonely tunnel
where you have long resided
i see you hugging the fallen leaves
feeling what falling means
treasuring the failures unnecessarily
tonight i see no stars like you seeing none in the skies
black night silent night dead night
i got this last stick of this match
i light this cigarrette i sigh i live some more
i sleep i dream i have this candle still
that tomorrow i may begin to light

Summer Nights
Oh, how I hate these hot summer nights,
When a good night's sleep is far from sight.
Lying on my bed, I constantly toss and turn,
While the air around me continuously burns.
My window is slightly ajar to let in some air;
I wonder if I'd be slightly cooler downstairs.
I have rolled down my blanket and my sheet,
But despite doing all this, I still feel the heat.
I watch the clock and the time ticks on by,
But, I just can't sleep, however hard I try.
Feeling restless in the middle of the night,
I climb out of bed and switch on the light.
Feeling so far away from the Land Of Nod,
I sit reading a book and then I play my iPod.
I'm having a bad night, and am not impressed:
I didn't sleep much last night, and need my rest.
As the night draws on, slightly cooler air arrives,
But, by this time, the clock has just struck five.
I hear the little birds singing out at dawn,
And it is only then that I give a big yawn.
My eyelids feel heavy and begin to close,
And, after sleepless hours, I begin to doze.
Finally, I fall asleep: inside my soul feels calm,
But a short time later, I'm woken by the alarm.
By now, my room is flooded by brilliant sunlight;
But I want to stay in bed, with my eyes shut tight.
I feel like I'm almost dead, rather than refreshed;
I certainly don't feel anywhere near my very best.
I don't have much energy: I've no get up and go,
And when I do get up, my movements are slow.
I wish that the temperature at night would dip,
Then I could finally get some much needed kip.

Oh, Halloween Eve
Owls are screeching
It’s icy cold outside,
The wind is howling
Leaves crackle under feet
On neighbor’s porches,
Glowing pumpkins greet
Arms are reaching
For candy baskets,
Kids are seeking
Shadows creep up on you
You almost scream,
When ghosts fly by n’ go boo!
Witches everywhere
On scruffy brooms,
Fly thru the night air
Costumes are a fright
Oh, Halloween Eve,
What a spooky night!

I Made A Wish
I made a wish upon a
Falling star
“Hoping”
“Eagerly”
To make that one
Little wish
“In hoping”
My wish would prevail
Itself
To be true
And start the rain
“Or maybe snow”
And let me make it
To a Beauty salon
While I attempt to sing
Ain’t no sunshine when
He’s gone
“As”
The dogs howl at the
Moon.
“Or maybe”
My singing
“Lord”
My wish was not granted
For I still can’t sing
The dogs and cats seem
To appear disturb when I
Sing
They howl and meow
I wished upon a falling
Star
For a singing voice that
Would make me rich
“maybe a bit famous”
“Laugh”
So, that dream just
Blew away
Within the frosty winds
In the year of the rain
Washed away with the
High tide
I wished upon a falling
Star
Didn’t get my wish but
That beautiful little twinkling
Star
Was truly intriguing for the
Eye to see
“Thank God”
I went to a beauty salon
Got the works
Clean down to my toes
Ain’t that grand and I
And I feel brand new

Chamber
I lost myself last night, I lost myself in you,
Your world is a chamber,
I walk into your room, I wish this was my tomb,
You're pure,
burning slowly, she's sleeping softly
Your mind is a stranger,
If this is comfort, a mutual feeling,
I'm falling, myself,
In love and love,
Tell me why I am lying here with you
Just moving swinzy, but I am burning
It's dark but it's still so bright,
You kiss me softly, I stop and lips touch
I'm falling myself
In love and love,
(every night)
I'm never there for you,
Tell me why I am lying here with you every night,
I'll never know the truth,
Tell me why I am lying here with you every night,
I thought that you were gone, but you're still a part of me
Your spirit still holds on, playing cards with me
Emotions in this truck, made for if you dream,
I left my options stuck, still be thinking of you and me.
Why I am lying here with you
Why I am lying here with you
I'm never there for us,
Tell me why I am lying here with you every night,
I'll never know the truth,
Tell me why I am lying here with you every night,
I'm never there for you,
Tell me why I am lying here with you every night,
I'll never know the truth,
Why?

Halloween Night
Spooky night Cooky night
Listen to the cool wind blow
Cats screaching at the Jack o' lanterns glow
Bats wait for when it gets late as the trick or treaters do
Amoungst their bussell the leaves begin to russell
Its candy they cant wait to get to
Clouds are flying high high in the sky
Rain begins to fall
Halloween is the spookiest night of all
I Am The Dawn
Sun splashed drops of sugar candy
White gold flicks of molten light
A horizon boysenberry stained
Quick to come and fast to leave
Oh fickle is the dawn
I am this ever-changing dawn
Sweet and pleasing; a lovers candy
Yet men forget how quick I leave
Fleeting as those pale beams of morning moon light
"Come and stare, " they say " at this rising sun."
They yearn a kiss of my passion red lips stained
I am the harlot you see at night, shadow stained
Most who see me don't believe I am a child of the dawn
But as my grandmother would always say all women are part sun
She knew what I couldn't see, that I was sunlit orange candy
That even those who lives are lived in midnight darkness, must have star light
She told me that some lights never leave
To watch, dream and wish and my sun would never leave
But fickle and young I became stained
I forgot what I could be with light
I never watched the rising dawn
Dreamed of clouds of soft spun candy
Or wished of flying in the warming sun
I spent my thoughts in corners hidden from beams of sun
"I bid you leave me" I would yell, "Leave! "
Then in my night a man came to me with a gift of sunlit orange candy
A man so young, I called him boy, his cheeks becoming sunrise red stained
It was like he hadn't noticed I was living night, he called me dawn
No man had ever reminded me of my light
"I am a shadow! " And he would protest, "Even shadows need light"
""But I am wicked", "Yes", he would say, "So is the sun"
"But I am fickle", "Ah and so is the dawn"
"Stop! " he shouts "enough I will not leave"
I know you think you are darkened and stained
But to me you are filled of sunlit orange candy
So glow my dawn, your love filled light
You are my toot-sweet candy, my bright and burning sun
I am your light that shall not leave; your sunrise whirl has me stained

Lost Sun
The sun fading away
The sun ruining the day
Shadow sliding in
Time for night to begin
Lost the suns light
To the darkness of night
Sun light dreaming
To be the moon light beaming
But soon the world will see
When shadows of the night flee
That light is not far from sight
Removed are images of the night
Turned green to white
Snapped over night
Lost soon after none
Here comes the sun

Star
Maurice white, eddie del barrio & allee willis
In the sky, shines a star, spaces,
Near and far, calling out, who you are
And smiling in the night.
Star light, star bright beam across the
Sky -- falling, calling can you tell me why --
Star light, star bright mighty light to see.
Shining, smiling down on you and me --
Star hides from the rain, it turns
Against the pain, fooling many in the game
While smiling in the night --
I can feel the dark, take the night,
Apart, but then, the stars come out
And lift my heart --
Believing, theres a star, for everyone
Makes it easier, to recall, that together
For the children of the world -- theres
A star smiling for us all
Star, shining high, cultivating my desire
Graceful in the sky
And smiling in the night
Chorus out

When The Leaves Come Falling Down
I saw you standing with the wind and the rain in your face
And you were thinking bout the wisdom of the leaves and their grace
When the leaves come falling down
In september when the leaves, come falling down
And at night the moon is shining on a clear, cloudless sky
And when the evening shadows fall Ill be there by your side
When the leaves come falling down
In september when the leaves, come falling down
Follow me down, follow me down, follow me down
To the place beside the garden and the wall
Follow me down, follow me down
To the space before the twilight and the dawn
Oh, the last time I saw paris in the streets, in the rain
And as I walk along the boulevards with you, once again
And the leaves come falling down
In september, when the leaves come falling down
Follow me down, follow me down, follow me down
To the place between the garden and the wall
Follow me down, follow me down
To the space between the twilight and the dawn
And as Im looking at the colour of the leaves, in your hand
As were listening to chet baker on the beach, in the sand
When the leaves come falling down,
Woe in september, when the leaves come falling down
Oh when the leaves come falling down
Yeah in september when the leaves come falling down
When the leaves come falling down
In september, when the leaves come falling down
When the leaves come falling down in september, in the rain
When the leaves come falling down
When the leaves come falting down in september, in the rain
When the leaves come falling down

Let The Night Sleep
Let the night sleep
Sleep for ever deep
With the night I sleep
Beyond the world to peep
Universe will sleep
Plants and trees
Birds and bees
Stars and moon
To sleep very soon!
Fruits and flowers
Joy with showers
Will sleep with me and the night
Not to keep the life very tight!
No dawn of the day
Right upto the dooms day!
Sleep permanent
In the world impermanent
I'll sleep without light
My agonies will sleep
My worries will sleep
My pains will sleep
My sins will sleep!
While in sleep
I am pure
I am peace
I am noble!
While my body is asleep
Awake my soul I keep
Sleep akin to death
Death akin to sleep in mirth?
Let the night sleep
Sleep for ever deep
With night I sleep
Sleep to eternity
Soul to merge in Divinity!

Sleepwalker
Evrybody got problems, buddy. I got mine.
When midnight comes around, I start to lose my mind.
When the sun puts out the light,
I join the creatures of the night,
Oh yeah.
Im a sleepwalker.
Im a night stalker.
Im a street walker.
Im a night hawker.
Evrybody got secrets that they wanna hide.
When midnight comes along, I take a look inside.
Dont go talkin in your sleep:
I might come in for a peep,
Oh yeah.
Im a sleepwalker.
Im a night stalker.
When evrybodys fast asleep, I start to creep.
Through the shadows of the moonlight, I walk my beat.
Better close your window tight:
I might come in for a bite,
Oh yeah.
When the night time comes, I start to creep.
I prowl around when youre fast asleep.
I walk around on my tippy toes,
And I get into places that nobody knows.
Im always around if you wanna meet.
You can find me on almost evry street.
Youll always get me on the telephone.
Ill even come to your home if youre ever alone.
Im a sleepwalker.
Im a night stalker.
Im a street walker.
Im a night hawker.

Coldest Day
No I never heard through the grapevine
How you left long before your time
But in france on the radio
I could not understand a word
But I felt you go
We waited all night for the midnight lovers calling
It was the coldest day of the year
And Im still thawing
I didnt sleep a wink
But while radio played
I was day dreaming
Of what might have been
While the cold night air was freezing
The coldest night
The coldest day of the year
What is happening mother father please
Who will save us from the autumn breeze
Shivering to a halt no one wants to speak too soon
Although we all knew under the pale blue moon
The pale moon
The pale blue moon
What happens then when the sun goes down
Tell me whats the word johannesburg
When the rent goes up and the lights go down
On the coldest day outside the coldest town
We waited all night and Im still falling
I didnt sleep a wink
But while radio played
I was day dreaming
Of what might have been
While the cold night air was freezing
The coldest night
The coldest day of the year
The coldest night
The coldest day of the year
The coldest night, day, year.

That one star
Remember that summer, i used to lie down on the grass.
In the countryside, i used to watch the stars every night.
Were always lots of stars in the dark blue sky,
Were always rich lightened in the deep sky.
And there was only one star that i liked.
Was in different places everyday night,
But i would find it every time.
And there was one special star that i wondered.
Was the lightest one in my eyes,
But no one else could find it.
That one star stayed in my memories,
That one star is still in my mind.
Too far to catch it,
Too close to run away from it.
Every night it would appear in the sky.
Every day it would disappear in the light.
Someday i couldn't wait for the night.
Then i used to pray for the night to come quickly.
Still i see that one star,
Even on the another side of the earth.
Still i see that one star,
Even in the middle of my dream.
That one star never left me.
That one star never came close.
Just like in the beginning,
Same in the end.
That one star.
That one star.

The Storm
The clouds turned to gray
The air turned to cold
And I knew by that day
Some evil would unfold.
It arrived without a warning
Along with the pounding rain
And it was gone by the morning
As violently as it came.
But for that night I lived in terror
That night I lived in fright
With every sound I heard
With every flash of light.
Violently came the wind
Terrorizing with no form
Then came the thunder and lightning,
Arriving, was the storm.
Many trees I saw bent
Then God clapped his mighty hand
While many trees were refusing to fall,
But then, a tree didn't stand.
Rushing came the wind
Pounding came the rain
Crashing came the thunder
Quickly, came my pain.
Underneath my bed I hid
From the terror of the storm
And in pain and terror I cried
In horror and pain I moaned.
That night I lived in terror
That night I lived in fright
With every sound I heard
With every flash of light.
And the rain just kept falling
More tears I began to weep
For the wind just kept calling,
Then that night; I fell asleep.
Then morning she finally came
I awoke to the sound of peace and birds
The sound of thunder and rain was gone
Which had awoke my sleeping world.
Then outside towards the sky I stared,
To the clouds God he did call
I saw Gods hand moving the wind
Commanding the rain not to fall.
Then the sun began to shine
So on my knees I fell to pray
Then again, I began to cry
Thanking God; the storm had went away.

An Altercation
when i step there
for the first time i know
the difference between
silence and
shutting up, that soundless scream
that only your ears
can hear and people wonder
what is happening inside
your tiny world
where you always live and
there is no
specific address
as the streets wind up to nowhere
the world is full of noise
and as you see you imagine people
as like you
all in the flurry of the winds
of disgust
and then i ask you to see the
light at the post
it is 6: 30 in the evening
and lights begin
to make a claim of their
own islands
amidst the crowd of
passers-by
i ask you once again
to listen to the clicking of the
watch inside your
heart
and try to erase the
imagined scream
i agree it is an evening
loveless in itself
there is only you
and no one else
for i am but a stone to you
in your garden
of sands
i urge you to listen
carefully and close your eyes
and open them
once again
searching for the red
color of the
longing
it is deep into the night
when trees are but
shadows
and the winds create
a stir of
falling leaves
those that last only
for the night
and i assure you
there is nothing
here but leaves
yes, leaves and
leaves
softly falling to the grass
carried by the
sounds of the flurry
of invisible wings
and i am telling you
it could be
hope dressed
like maple.

Full Moon
Havent you noticed a kind of madness in my eyes?
Its only me, dear, in my midnight disguise.
Pay no attention if I crawl across the room.
Its just another full moon.
Dont be afraid of me when Im walking in my sleep.
Dont get alarmed, dear, when I start to crawl and creep.
Try not to listen when I mumble like a loon.
Its just another full moon.
Its just another full moon.
You see before you a truly broken man.
cause when it gets to midnight, I dont know who I am.
Full moons a-callin, and its put a curse on me,
And it will never set me free.
The full moons still up there,
Like a great white balloon.
The owls are a-callin,
And theyre singin my tune.
The night keeps a-callin.
I wish the day would come soon,
To get away from another full moon.
Here comes another full moon.
If your hands start shakin
When night starts to fall,
If youre scared of the moonlight
And the shadows on the wall,
If the face in the mirror
Isnt you at all,
Its just another full moon.
Its just another full moon.
La la la la la la.
La la la la la la.
La la la la la la.
La la la la la la.
Its just another full moon.

Can't Sleep
I find myself yawning again and again,
But I can't sleep, which is a real pain.
I lie on my left side, then on my right,
But, for me, there is no sleep in sight.
Next, I turn and lie flat on my back,
But, of any sleep, there is still a lack.
I lie there, looking up at the ceiling:
Pretty drained, is how I am feeling.
I wish my system would just slow down,
But, through my mind, thoughts race round.
Feeling restless, I begin to huff and puff:
I know that, in the morning, I'll feel rough.
As a poet, my mind is still really busy rhyming,
But, when I'm trying to sleep, isn't great timing.
To try and get some sleep, I really endeavour,
But the night seems to go on forever and ever.
I am really willing my mind to take a rest,
But, night time is when my mind thinks best.
Over my sleeping patterns, I have no control:
On me, tomorrow, lack of sleep will take its toll.
As I snuggle myself down, under the covers,
My body wants one thing; my mind, another.
When lying in bed, I just want some peace:
I want all of this rhyming, for once, to cease.
