Tradesmen

Forced by tragedy the tradesmen sell their goods,
Damning the praises coming for their livelihoods;
Cotton, wool and silk give in to their owners,
Wealth shall empower some of the loaners.
The giving and taking may be scalded and disrupted,
Having been trusted firstly and lastly, but corrupted.
An interest achieved by the merchants is despicable,
Let coins fall into a pit of gold, that is admirable.
You seek abominations from the tradesmen,
Yet goods achieve the status of wonderment with countrymen.

Forward Planning.

God rest ye greedy merchants all.
The time has come when you display
the tawdry goods you hope to sell
to foolish folk prepared to pay.
Much more than what your goods are worth.
To give as gifts on Christmas day
Your tills are ringing merrily
in tune with carols which you play
Creating an ambience which
encourages folks to spend.
A great deal more than otherwise
On which your profits will depend.
I have no doubt you’re planning to
make more profits at Easter too.

Catch 22

If I seem nervous will you show me what to do
And does the world deserve us, application rushing through
A long time coming, yes it's been a long time coming
And my loving you is a place where I surrender
In my heart it's not hard to do
And all my worldly goods I give to you
We close our eyes and chase away the sorry things
You make it easy for me life is but a dream
Cried on your shoulder
Dove into the great blue yonder
And my loving you is a place where I surrender
Touch my heart, it's not hard to do
And all my worldly goods I give to you
Loving you, is a place where I surrender
In my heart
No catch twenty-two
And all my worldly goods I give to you
No misdemeanor, theres a ring upon my finger
And my loving you is a place where I surrender
In my heart
It's not hard to do
And all my worldly goods I give to you
Loving you, is a place where I surrender
Touch my heart
No catch 22
And all my worldly goods I give to you
Loving you is a place where I surrender
In my heart
It's not hard to do
And all my worldly goods I give to you.

The Goods Gone

I know when Ive had enough
When I think your love is rough
Chorus:
The goods gone
The goods gone
The goods gone
The goods gone
The goods gone out of our love
I know its wrong
We should enjoy it, but
The goods gone
The goods gone
Once we used to get along
Now, each time we kiss, its wrong
(chorus)
Now it aint no fun
And the goods gone now
We used to love as one
But we have forgotten now
I know when Ive had enough
When I think your love is rough
(chorus)
Its gone forever

As farmers or owners, the poor peasants possess a piece of land. The excellent means of transport enables them often to sell their goods. At the very worst they can mostly provide their own food.

Dross coins and wealth

i.

Dross coins and wealth
Dross coins and wealth
Dross coins and wealth
You wallow in them
You think of them again, again
Dross coins and wealth
Dross coins and wealth
Dross coins and wealth
One even grey a blank vacant sterility.

ii.

Round the green hill
The rivulet glideth:
The birds flieth
The owl singeth
How happy is the earth to-day!

iii.

From the small dale
The shepherd voice ariseth
Into a sweet canticle
As the day falleth
As the red dusk cometh
And night in mantle dark
By the next dale is coming
Coming fast:
Coming fast
Like sleep
Sleep
Sleep
Welcome sleep
The night cometh
The skies are darkening:
The stars are twinkling
And one by one
Coming like Morpheus with his wand
Into the next sleep beginning
The eye-lids how drowsy lie
And flicker like torch-lights
Slowly
Slowly
Slowly
Mor pheus is breathing slow
His hot and wanton breath
Over my forehead:
So sleep cometh, welcome sleep.
And dream I with open eyes
And through the night
Look I upon the stars in sleep

And dreaming wake and waking dream again.

Just Another Day...

Another day another dollar
Just another excuse to give
Just another white lie to say
Just another fiene
Who wants the goods
Now I got more money
More money to spend
To spend on the goods
The goods are a demand
A demand that the cops want
Want to get me for life
Hell naw they cant see me
I do my thang
While the 5-0 ride by
I get my money
As long as these fienes live
Then my pocket stays phat
Once in awhile a brave soul comes at me
But when they walk away
I take their soul and there pide
Why
Cause a girl jus gave them the business
Nobody wants it with me
I do what i have to do
Just to survive another day
Another day another dollar

Damaged goods

I have a label.
The label will stick with me for life.
And remain deep within.
The label is damaged goods.
I'm so messed up after you did what you did.
I hate to be alone near any man.
I always look over my shoulder.
I cut my arms to ribbons.
I am now known as damaged goods.

On the day you raped me.
You broke me.
You left me frightened and scared.
But worst of all you left me damaged.
Like damaged goods.
Only I cant be mended.

Delivering The Goods

Feeling like were, ready to kick tonight
No hesitating, my bodies aching
Looking for some action, satisfaction all right
Charging, vein faced, as active as one-hundred solid proof
Mega town, leviathan, were ready to hit the roof
You better watch out and hold on tight
Were heading your way like dynamite
Delivering the goods
Delivering the goods
Shake down, rock em boys, crack that whip strap mean
Pulse rave, air waves, battle lies in every place weve been
Stealing your hearts all across the land
Hot blood doing good, were going to load you with our brand
You better watch out and hold on tight
Were heading your way like dynamite
Delivering the goods
Yeah, delivering the goods
Have your way
Stealing your hearts
Well we dont pull no punches, we aim where the crunch is
The bound to do most damage to your brain
If youre looking for it mellow
Youre nothing more than yellow
Gonna do it again and again
Well beat you to submission
So you might as well surrender
You do gotta learn your lesson
cause there aint nobody here to defend your heart
Faster, higher
til it seems that were gonna break
Oh shootin further, giving more than youre ever gonna take
Weaving with your heads
Crushed out on the floor
Begging for mercy
Be careful or well do it some more
You better watch out and hold on tight
Were heading your way like dynamite
Delivering the goods
Delivering the goods

An Alliterative Lament

One March Monday morning
A dark dismal day,
The snow slowly sleeting,
We wending our way.

Just two tired tradesmen
In life's lonely lanes,
Both thoughtlessly thinking
Of bed in our brains.

Temptation entreating us,
'Wait a wee while...
Why have you to hurry? '
It says with a smile.

But we will not wait
Or sit silently still
'Til the day's deeds are done,
We must make to the mill;

There to firstly fulfil
Our unchanging chores,
And to feel like two felons
Behind dungeon-like doors.

We will work at our weaving
For pennies, not pounds;
A lugubrious life,
Then a grave in the ground.

The Runes of Weland's Sword

1906

A smith makes me
To betray my Man
In my first fight.

To gather Gold
At the world's end
I am sent.

The Gold I gather
Comes into England
Out of deep Water.

Like a shining Fish
Then it descends
Into deep Water.

It is not given
For goods or gear,
But for The Thing.

The Gold I gather
A King covets
For an ill use

The Gold I gather
Is drawn up
Out of deep Water.

Like a shining Fish
Then it descends
Into deep Water.

It is not given
For goods or gear,
But for The Thing.

Time to Strike

It seems to me necessities
grow more expensive day by day
and at the same time luxuries
cost less than what we used to pay.

The values which we hold today
are not the ones our parents knew
It seems somehow we’ve lost our way.
I am convinced that this is true.

If you can’t pay you should not buy
For credit can put up the price
The crafty merchants have to try
to pay for when they advertise.

The goods for sale we do not need.
So they increase the price of food
Pursuit of profits is their creed.
Yet still they cry misunderstood.

Perhaps its time to call a halt
and force the merchants to review
A system very much at fault
I am afraid unless we do.

Well starve to death in luxury
because we cant afford to eat.
This is not how things ought to be.
I can do nothing but repeat

It seems to me necessities
grow more expensive day by day
and that unneeded luxuries
cost less that what we used to pay.

I find it hard to understand
why we must pay more for our food.
The laws of supply and demand
unless I have misunderstood.

Say necessities should cost less
Than luxuries we do not need
and only purchase to impress.
The merchants know we have to feed.

They do not need to advertise
the foodstuffs which they know we need
but constantly increase the price.
To satisfy their endless greed.

We only have ourselves to blame.
Our apathetic attitude
ensures that we can’t win
Though I am certain that we could

We have the power we could use
to bring the merchants in to line.
If we don’t buy, point blank refuse
except on terms which we define.

They’ll very quickly change their tune
they have to sell
But we wont win if we don’t try

We’re Indians First and Lastly!

We’re Indians firstly!
And that’s the way, we’re known all o’er the globe;
And that is what we tell the world around;
This is our primary identity.

We’re Indians firstly!
We may belong to any state by birth;
Then come our language, creed, community;
We’re Indians primarily!

We’re Indians firstly!
United are we by the tricolor;
The soil is one, though states be many;
We’re Indians basically!

We’re proud of our rich our Indian heritage;
Our thirst is quenched by rivers of India;
Our hunger is appeased by crops grown here;
We’re Indians first and ultimately!

Let none dare try to sow seeds of discord;
The Indian’s free to live in any state;
When asked, let always be our reply,
‘We’re Indians firstly!

God gave one sun and moon to all of us;
We live under the sky, our common roof;
We enjoy freedom got by same ‘Struggle’!
We’re Indians all, firstly!

We’re Indians firstly!
Our patriotism is Indianness;
Our pride’s in being born as Indians;
We’re Indians first and lastly!

All Indians are our brothers and sisters;
We love our fellowmen as our brethren;
Same blood of oneness flows within us all;
We’re Indians first, always, ultimately!

‘Jai Hind! Jai Bharat! Jai bharatiya! Jai bharatvaasi!
