The Past

Humming around the winter is the past,
This congratulates me as the last.

Years of daily amounts created laughter,
Mostly from seeds sown to glory and slaughter.

My music creates joy, all along and forever,
Lost is the happiness strongly in the endeavour.

May life contaminate the young and old,
Its powers feed us with triumph and gold.

Reach Out

If you can reach out across the miles
giving lots of smiles
life will one day reward you.
If you can reach out across the miles
and rekindle a flame
that may have lost its glow
in time the seeds of happiness
will begin to grow
and contentment within
will stand fast with you
for the seeds you have sown.

Forever Young

(r. stewart/j.cregan/k.savigar)
May the good lord be with you
Down every road you roam
And may sunshine and happiness
Surround you when youre far from home
And may you grow to be proud
Dignified and true
And do unto others
As youd have done to you
Be courageous and be brave
And in my heart youll always stay
Forever young, forever young
Forever young, forever young
May good fortune be with you
May your guiding light be strong
Build a stairway to heaven
With a prince or a vagabond
And may you never love in vain
And in my heart you will remain
Forever young, forever young
Forever young, forever young
Forever young
Forever young
And when you finally fly away
Ill be hoping that I served you well
For all the wisdom of a lifetime
No one can ever tell
But whatever road you choose
Im right behind you, win or lose
Forever young, forever young
Forever young ,forever young
Forever young, forever young
For, forever young, forever young

Where Has It Gone?

WHERE HAS IT GONE?

Where has it gone,
All the joy
All the music
All the laughter
All the life
All the years?

So much I have lived and known
Where has it gone?

It’s already in the past
I will never go there again
Gone.

What remains
Less
Much less.

Where has it gone?
God You gave this life to me-
So much joy so much music so much laughter so much love-
Where has it gone?

A Winter Message

A flake of snow in flurry thro’ the air
Had landed as a kiss upon my cheek:
A secret message, just for me to share;
To take to heart but never dare to speak
About or presuppose to other eyes
Your open feelings – distant though they are.
And so, upon your lips, my OWN surprise:
A flake of snow returned from me afar.

You Believe In Laughter, Do You?

since when have i seen you laughing?
twelve years ago?

really? you don't believe in laughter
anymore. I will take you to places
where laughters are planted
and grown. A stroll at the park

seeds of laughter are sown
by all the children. They run
without direction. Life is a
play, a game. Life is not
a thinking, but a mere

being there. I will take you
to these fancy restaurants.
See the lovey-dovey teeners
over there? They are engaged
in whispers-at-nothing really.
Cheek to cheek. The guy is
handing a spoonful of macaroni
to the girl. And the girl chews.
And the guy takes a glass
of coke, so she does not choke.

Laughters are made here.
And they are everywhere.

Do not follow them home.
You may not find the laughter
anymore in their own
lonely rooms.

Why should our room be
devoid of laughter?
Let me make them
for you. I start with a can.
I will open it. Don't look at me.

Do i look like a guilty
jilted lover?
Now you are laughing.
I told you. It is true.
That affair is over.

We start anew. This
canned laughter. Try it.
For once. Please.

Wedding anniversary

Wedding anniversary

A toast to two hearts who 25yrs ago
Started a hard journey together to grow
Love filled two hearts with gentle joy
Giving them many things to enjoy
Through sun, rain or stormy weather
Warm bright love kept them together
Love shone on throughout the years
Through joy, laughter, tears and fears
Together they fought the trials of life
So today still stand as husband and wife
In the life they've created together
May happiness be theirs today and forever
I send congratulations and heartfelt wishes, too,
For joyful happiness and love in everything you do.

Soaring Love Heightened Red Roses

music carries young birth souls
through youth learning emotions
immense new teenage experiences
soaring love heightened red roses

plunging raw grief in lost partners
time razor steals pure innocent hearts
distorts aspiring life vision trust eyes
anger rage despair invite dark fires

music echoes aches eternal happiness
played through connecting emotions
peace permeating universe soul sings
through dark matter waves light glows

music in all ages infuses passion lives
vibrates renewal in devastation ruins
music flows on cosmic dust solar winds
music empowers fertile love flower seeds

planted in hearts to live sing happiness
winter chill must fade hot summer flames
roses pruned cut back birth new flowers
wild ramble rose brings forth many thorns

melody soars in many change cadences
life hears God's immense music borrows
fast drum beats aspires sound collects
kindness smiles in music which inspires

pains in music which hate revenge rages
withers birth right hope to heaven spheres
kind beings sing glory into radiant lights
instruments rise up soar into heaven souls

Aspenglow

This song appears on four albums, and was first released on the take me to tomorrow album, and has also been released on the the rocky mountain collection and the country roads collection albums
Ther version appears on the rocky mountain christmas album.
See the sunlight through the pine
Taste the warm of winter wine
Dream of softly falling snow
Winter snow aspenglow
As the winter days unfold
Hearts grow warmer with the cold
Peace of mind is all you know
Winter snow aspenglow
Aspen is a life to live
See how much there is to give
See how strongly you believe
See how much you may receive
Smiling faces all around
Laughter is the only sound
Memories that cant grow old
Winter snow aspenglow
Aspen is a life to live
See how much there is to give
See how strongly you believe
See how much you may receive
See the sunlight through the pine
Taste the warm of winter wine
Dream of softly falling snow
Winter snow aspenglow

‘To the Slaughter-house’- A Cattle-song!

To the slaughter-house! To the slaughter-house!
Here we cows all go;
We gave men milk and butter, ghee;
They want our beef now;
We’ve no other go.

To the slaughter-house! To the slaughter-house!
Here we oxen go;
We tilled their lands and milled oil-seeds;
They want our hide now;
We’ve no other go.

To the slaughter-house! To the slaughter-house!
Here we sheep all go;
We grazed their meadows, eating grass;
They want our mutton now;
We’ve no other go.

To the slaughter-house! To the slaughter-house!
Here we cattle go;
We served mankind as God said so;
Selfish men want our flesh now;
We’ve no other go.

To the slaughter-house! To the slaughter-house!
Here we animals go;
Jostled, huddled, unfed, crowded;
Men want our lives now;
This is our last ride, we all know;
We’ve no other go.

My Past

I can never let go of my past because my past has marked me

Every time I look down
Every time I look over
There is my past

The notches
The bold the non-mistakable scars
…the scars
My past

Each and every one has a story
Each and every one has a memory
Each and every one has brought tears to my eyes

For no story nor memory are of happiness, triumph, or glory

No, they are of fear, anxiety, self-hatred, paranoia, and loneliness

I can never let go of my past because my past will always be part of me

Emotions and Your Healh.

When your mind is at peace,
You have a calm, interesting life in this race.
Doing things, enjoy all, learn from all,
So, your body is healthy, well and happy and you don't fall.

However, if your thinking is about arguments, anger or fight,
You'll pick up the worst food combination, which is not right.
So, your whole body follows & you loose your balance,
Mind will show the way to the body with the wrong guidance.

If you crave strongly about happiness from the past,
Or you are greedy, you attract diabetes fast.
If you are angry for every dropp of a hat,
Your heart will suffer from that.

If you want to win anything real bad,
Your lungs will suffer and get sad.
If you hate others, thinking, they are all wrong,
Your liver will not sing a happy song.

Even, if you regret strongly something from your past,
That is the reason to attract cancer in your forecast.
The past is gone, the future is not here yet,
How you think today, surely tomorrow you will get.

However, if you make peace with your world,
What you created anyway, knowing or not,
Your life on this Earth will be a happy plot.
You will go from one adventure to the other,
On the ship of life you will be a healthy, happy passenger.

Just go on, believe that everything is necessary for your evolving.

Happiness defined.

Happiness is the feeling good,
A state where worry is absent.
Happiness is much sought after.
Happiness is the life's purpose.

To feed the senses gives happiness.
To feed ego gives happiness.
To spend libido gives happiness.
To feel safe also is happiness.

Let them come without prejudice
To the interest of others.
Discard such happiness that fails
In the conscience clearance.

Happiness that would accrue from
Showing mercy, giving pardon
And doing voluntary helps
Is higher as comes from goodwill.

Love (All Over The World)

unheard of love was dreaming inside her hair
the facts of life and me were screaming
i wasn't there
so we took upon myself to swallow
what i should see
and if the world should beg to follow
i'd disagree
we took her head outside and waited
until the rain
called all the dreams anticipated
and never came
she held him in her arms you wondered
is it to be
is love an everlasting thunder
or are we
are we lost forever
are we lost forever
lost forever
are we lost forever
are we lost forever
lost forever
unseen of worlds existing
inside the waves
of all unfolding in the mystery
in secret ways
the dreams are all becoming clearer
the clouds are green
is any way a wee bit nearer
or are we
are we lost forever
are we lost forever
are we lost forever
are we lost forever
lost forever
are we lost forever
are we lost forever
are we in lust forever
lost forever

Intellectuals

I have never fancied the logic of a tomorrow,
The future encompasses the reality in question.
We are being endowed with experience of a life
That creates shackles for its descendents.
The children of the generations to come
Shall endeavour to disembark and disagree.
The greatest of minds discontinue with intellect,
For it is far too challenging a human endeavour.

What is Greed?

Greed is black in color.
It is selfish in every aspect.
It is normally one sided in nature.
It's glory is only for a moment.
It is like a deflating balloon.
It eventually catches up, watch.

Greed is dark.
It thinks only of itself.
It is very imbalanced.
It's happiness is fleeting.
It gets real small in size.
The seeds sown will soon reap a harvest.

When the music stops

When the music stops, the dance is done
So listen and dance with all your heart and mind
Always dance as if… t'would be your last one
Live life to the fullest, let the dance and the music unwind

When the magic is gone, it's gone forever
So leave room for mystery, in your life every day
Leave a bit of the unknown, in your every endeavour
For when the magic is gone, it's gone to stay

For when the music stops
And when the magic is gone
You can smile and look back
At a life that's well done

For when the music once stops
You dance again never
And when the magic is gone
Sure…Tis gone forever

Everything You Don’t Know About Me

My mind is lost
My heart is lost
My body is lost
My spirit is lost
And I don’t know
If I can find it.

My pride is somewhat lost
My soul is somewhat lost
My thoughts are somewhat lost
My words are somewhat lost
Can not find what to say.

My life is confused
My daily happiness
Is still confused.
My smiles that I give
Are confused
But I don’t want to pretend
That I am happy when I’m not.

The smiles are numb to me
The laughs are numb to me
The good spirit is numb to me
The goals are lost and forever
Numb to me.

The love is no longer there
The happiness is no longer there
The smiles and pretending is
No longer there.
The happy thoughts are
No longer there.

Nowhere to be found
This is me.
But I don’t get it
They hurt me
Can’t they see?

Maybe I should just stay out
Of their lives.

To a fellow poet

What can I give you –
for only giving can I think of,
in this dark season of the year
which needs no festive name, to name the need…

this dark season, when hearts yearn
for all that’s bright, and warm, and love..
what can I give you, at this time?

I give you – music… music, heard
outside the heart’s dark winter door
to say, that all’s not lost; all’s never lost;
there’s music still and always, through the door…
you’ll hear, and know yourself to be that all…

I give you – laughter… laughter, on the face
of strangers, as you open that dark door;
strangers who laughing turn to you
and share their laughter and a proffered hand;
a room of laughter shared with you, illusions laughed away…

As poet gives to poet, these I give you;
they are – but poetry;
as poetry, may live.

*

[occasioned by discussion of ‘the three persons’ in poetry:
the confessional poetry of ‘I’;
the poetry that speaks and gives to ‘you’;
and the poetry of he, she, it, they – of universal truth..]
