Knowing Your House
I don’t care what they say.
Pain is not, will not be a black beauty.
I stood at the edge of a living room
Chair, thinking of all the teachers instead.
Wedged in was the bar in the doorway,
I had to raise my chin and hit it,
But too late, my neck dripped with blood.
Undone,
I was not knowing the game instead,
Houses were weird today.
My mother of all people
Knocked on the entrance-door,
Dripping with raindrops and sweat,
I was a lover of mothers that heal.
A storm was bursting with summer heat,
Building since noon,
The other children had raced in,
Their shoes scratched across the plywood floor,
Placed by the previous owner.
Kissing, beating and cool gloom occurred,
The family mentioned their births,
The family retired to the basement.

Country Sweat
Sweat!
Sweat!
Sweat!
Born for trouble, poised for action
Ready to spring at a moment's notice
Nerves like a trigger, waiting to be pulled
Covered with sweat, it ain't nice
Sweat!
Help me please I'm burning up
I got this fire in my heart
Won't let me sleep, can't concentrate
Even when it's cold I'm dripping sweat
It ain't nice
Sweat!
Rivers running down my back
Makes me slippery, like a fish
If I don't stop, I might drown
Falling down, down, down, down, not dead yet
covered with
Sweat
CHORUS
The cool boys bit the dust
They couldn't take the pressure
The cool girls got knocked up
They only wanted to have fun
(Where did they go?)
They fell in low and suffered
(Where did they go?)
They picked up guns and hammers
(Where did they go?)
Without friction there's no heat
WIthout heat there's no fire
Without fire there's no desire
You're making me hot, hot, hot, hot!
Sweat! Sweat!
Take my baby, Saturday night
It's hundred and ten, it's alright
Close the door to my little room
Starting to sweat, fun starts soon
Sweat!
Principal caught me after school
Gave me hell, called me a fool
Pointed his finger, at my face
Started to sweat all over the place
Flowed like rivers, onto the floor
I can take it, give me some more
Sweat!
War breaks out throughout the land
Dodging bullets in the sand
Enemy's getting much to close
Sun beats down on the back of my neck
Fingers twitchin', covered with sweat
Covered with sweat
CHORUS
Sweat!

Home
I came back late and tired last night
Into my little room,
To the long chair and the firelight
And comfortable gloom.
But as I entered softly in
I saw a woman there,
The line of neck and cheek and chin,
The darkness of her hair,
The form of one I did not know
Sitting in my chair.
I stood a moment fierce and still,
Watching her neck and hair.
I made a step to her; and saw
That there was no one there.
It was some trick of the firelight
That made me see her there.
It was a chance of shade and light
And the cushion in the chair.
Oh, all you happy over the earth,
That night, how could I sleep?
I lay and watched the lonely gloom;
And watched the moonlight creep
From wall to basin, round the room,
All night I could not sleep.

I salute you
I salute you, all the ladies
who work late to keep on the
lights on and putting food on the
table to make the ends meet..
I salute every mother out there
who is responsible with looking
after the family, bringing joy, love
and happiness inspite of the dark
moments in the family...
I salute and put on all the single mothers who work up early and
work late just to keep on the lights on and putting food on
the table.
I salute and put on all mothers
on the radar, for the tremendous
efforts to keep the family happy
and striving to ensure the family
is happy through dark moments
of life...
I salute all mothers on the streets
who are making all ends to meet
inorder to earn a living for the survival of the family, and out of
love for the family's sake..
I salute every mothers out there
who are bringing a change to the

This is not a family
This is not a family...
No not to me... a family is people who are there for you they are the people that you trust to make sure your okay they are the people that believe in you and they are the people who will never lie to you and always be honest
This is not a family...
For a family its pretty sad to think we treat one another as nothing talk to eachother as if we dont care for one another and backstab and walk on one another because we can
This is not a family...
I use to think i had it good till i grew up and relized family shouldnt bring eachother down... family shouldnt make you cry... family shouldnt make you think you will be nothing and stay nothing for....
This is not a family...
Instead its just a sad excuse of people who put up with eachother not because they want to but because they have to... for this family that i have i hope that all of you will soon relize before its too late that i love my family... and i believe in my family... and that even though my household is not right at all... i know that i will become something... not because you make me think i cant... its because i believe in myself and with that i know i will someday do great things...
FOR this is not a family...
but it is my family

Mothers Day
Mothers day
is not like valentine day
where you care for your mother like money
since in 2012 it was on monday
mothers love and care
its so good that it floats in the air
although mothers take care for the hair
since they sit bossy on the chair
children celebrate them and rejoice
while drinking coke and ice
een the mother sits while eating rice
since their day is so nice
we dance and sing
as the father gives the mother a valentine ring
she sits on the chair relaxing
since she doesnt need to be working
we thank all the mothers since they are not mean
as their day is tight like a skinny jean
their work is sweet like a dream
all you have to do is say
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

In My Father's Shoes
The lamp of the bright life darkened.
When my father life was taken by God.
It was the darkest moment ever
experienced by my mother and family.
We are family of ten. I am the eldest.
That time I was twenty years of age.
A new graduate and has no job yet.
My mother's teary, query eyes was on me.
I saw in her eyes what she meant
sickly diabetic mother, ten children
with five years old as the youngest.
Thats a lot to feed in one day and on.
I was dumbstruck. Like in a black cloak
on my face with small hole to peep.
I have to visualize the future. Survival
I have to toil and family to take care of.
In storm of life we are in. We should get out.
I step up, step in to my father's shoes.
And walk to search the sunshine of hope.
Then I took the road across the ocean.
From east, to west end road sunshine I found.
At that side of the world I got the decent job.
Earnings, enough to pay my mother's
health bills and family expenses.
Finally time came, self sacrifices paid off.
My brothers and sisters finished college.
Load to my shoulders time to unload
That's I think of, but I can't.
Poverty in my native land, social cancer of sort.
Still I have to run, carry the load to bear.
To take the shoes off? Nay. Still to wear, support.
I have conscience, a heart, I care.

The 'Memo Pause
I went into the other room
and stood still at the door
forgetting oh so double quick
what I'd gone there for!
I went back to my comfy chair
and scratched my itchy chin,
remembering what I'd forgot,
too spent to go back in!

We're All God's Children
Album: Peace In The Valley
Here comes a Baptist, here comes a Jew
There goes a Mormon and a Muslim too
I see a Buddist and a Hindu
I see a Catholic and I see you
We're all god's children
We're all god's children
We're all god's children
Why can't we be
One big happy family
You like the day, and I like the night
He's into country and he's isn't quit
There's folks on the left and the far right
But that doesn't mean that we have to fight
We're all god's children
All god's children
Yeah, We're all god's children
Why can't we be
One big happy family
White folks, yellow folks, black and tan
On the same planet in the same plan
A feminist woman and a he man
We're all playin' the magic hand
We're all god's children
We're all god's children
Oh, We're all god's children
Why can't we be
One big happy family
We're all god's children
All god's children
Yeah, We're all god's children
Why can't we be
One big happy family
We're all god's children
All god's children
We're all god's children
Why can't we be
One big happy family
We're all god's children
We're all god's children
Yeah, We're all god's children
Why can't we be
One big happy family
We're all god's children
We're all god's children
We're all god's children
We're all black and white
We're all precious in his sight
We're all god's children
We're all god's children
We're all god's children
Why can't we all be
One big happy family...

Why family?
WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE the FAMILY THAT DISREPECTS YOU?
WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE the FAMILY WHO TALK ABOUT YOU BEHIND YOUR BACK?
WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE THE FAMILY WHO CLOSES THE DOOR WHEN YOU NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO?
WHY IS IT THE FAMILY WHO COULD CARE LESS ABOUT YOU?
WHY IS IT THE FAMILY who tell others your buisness?
Why does the family try to put you down?
Why does the family act the way they do towards one another?
Why does the family act like they’re not your family?
Why can’t the family just be family?

Woman in Black
‘Come out, come out! ' I whispered to her,
‘Come out from your padded walls,
There's a world of love that waits you here,
There are hills and waterfalls,
The sky is blue in the summertime
And the swallows dive in the field,
Come out, come out, ' I knocked at her door,
But the door was barred and sealed.
‘You were bright and gay just yesterday,
When we walked in the park at noon,
You chattered in your excited way
Of your plans for the month of June,
You picked a posy of buttercups
And you plaited them into your hair,
Then skipped and danced as the breeze came up
For the joy of the day out there.'
‘So why have you barred your door to me
When my love is fastened on you,
What has become of our reverie
That you said was more than my due?
You've locked yourself in a gloomy room
At the end of an ancient hall,
What in the world's come over you…'
‘I stare at a crystal ball! '
Her voice came echoing through the door,
In the tone of a girl who'd cried,
Her sobs seeped up from the oaken floor
Of the room where she sat, inside,
‘The world outside is a sham, ' she said,
‘The meadows are barren and dry,
And over all like a leaden pall
Is the arch of a greying sky.'
I went to say that it wasn't so
But a cloud had covered the sun,
And out beyond me the fields were dry
The river had ceased to run,
The swallows, building their nests had gone
Where the sun still shone at noon,
Shadows formed, and my face was grim
As my soul was steeped in gloom.
‘What did you see in the crystal ball? '
I said, with a tongue so dry,
‘I saw our love to the end of it, '
She said, and started to cry,
‘I saw the woman in black that came
To shatter our marriage vow,
And tasted blood on the lip you split
That once you had kissed, ‘til now.'
‘That crystal ball is a lie, ' I said,
‘For none of it's happened yet,
You're looking far to a future that
My love will make you forget.'
But overhead was a thundercloud
And lightning shattered a tree,
While thunder rumbled and shook the ground
As if to admonish me.
‘I'll always love you, ' I shouted out,
But then it began to rain,
The thunder clattered and drowned me out,
And all I could feel was pain,
I begged my lover to let me in
But she just ignored my pleas,
And then I noticed a woman in black
Watching me through the trees!

Always Think Of Heaven
When Family loves you, you can tell
Always think of Heaven; never Hell
When Family photos are taken, they exude all
Always think of Heaven; Peter and Paul
When Family is together, there is a word 'kiss'
Always think of Heaven; Genesis
When Family creates, the best feeling around
Always think of Heaven; actually solid ground
When Family reunions, are the years' events
Always think of Heaven; you are Heaven sent
When Family members, are graduating school
Always think of Heaven; actually really cool
When Family takes a fall, then just has to rest
Always think of Heaven; it will be the best
When Family has turmoil, agony and pain
Always think of Heaven; it actually helps again
When Family needs a break, in life's' game
Always think of Heaven; that's where the Lord remains

Play Children Play
I came home late one night,
In my door stood my daughter-in-law,
Park your car, I have something to tell you,
As I entered the door, she said, "Mother left today."
Play children play, your mother left today.
There is no where for a writer to start,
When his wife leaves and breaks her children's heart,
When she walked out, she never said good by,
No one has ever known why.
Play children play, today your Mother went away.
Many things we planned to do that day,
For no reason she just walked away,
Twenty years has past and gone,
Some how we took care of our home,
You children have married, but still alone.
Play children play, for the day your Mother went away.

Family?
Do, I have a Family?
If you ask me
I have no family merely associates
For families are genarally suppose to be filled with love
Mine is filled with hatred and with pain.
I am the perfect example of a 21st century family
Due to the mishaps of this world, my mother is a single parent
Much like now most of the world.
And as the years go by it only gets worse.
Families used to be loving, or at least that's what I 've heard.
Why can't we bring back family to what it was?
A mother, a father and children, living under one roof with love
For me, for years I lived afraid for my life, a confused little girl
Without a helpful hand in sight.
Everytime I trusted a man I got burned in the proccess
Only six yet I was afraid because of this.
Because of my 'so-called' family.
Why do they do this to me? !
I can never even look upon my 'brother' the same
For to me he is no longer a brother.
And I do not know how to express my pain, with sorrow or laughter?
Someone please save me from this disaster!
Who do you run to for help
When your family is causing the pain
And the matters are to far- fetched for the police?
Who do you trust and who do you call?
Definetly not your family.
So, now again I ask you
DO I HAVE A FAMILY?

Live For Today (R.E.M.)
You had this bright idea one late summer night.
Candy-coated popcorn strung like a beaded curtain hung over your door.
I guess the heat got to it, dripped and melted all over the floor.
Chocolate-covered cherries in tin foil boats float around the floorboard.
I had to laugh not to cry.
Now all your possessions, all of your things, all of your hopes, schemes, desires, all of your dreams.
All gone away.
"Live for today", you said, "live for today".
I had to laugh not to cry

Widows
My mother's playing cards with my aunt,
Spite and Malice, the family pastime, the game
my grandmother taught all her daughters.
Midsummer: too hot to go out.
Today, my aunt's ahead; she's getting the good cards.
My mother's dragging, having trouble with her concentration.
She can't get used to her own bed this summer.
She had no trouble last summer,
getting used to the floor. She learned to sleep there
to be near my father.
He was dying; he got a special bed.
My aunt doesn't give an inch, doesn't make
allowance for my mother's weariness.
It's how they were raised: you show respect by fighting.
To let up insults the opponent.
Each player has one pile to the left, five cards in the hand.
It's good to stay inside on days like this,
to stay where it's cool.
And this is better than other games, better than solitaire.
My grandmother thought ahead; she prepared her daughters.
They have cards; they have each other.
They don't need any more companionship.
All afternoon the game goes on but the sun doesn't move.
It just keeps beating down, turning the grass yellow.
That's how it must seem to my mother.
And then, suddenly, something is over.
My aunt's been at it longer; maybe that's why she's playing better.
Her cards evaporate: that's what you want, that's the object: in the end,
the one who has nothing wins.

My Family
My family will forever be in my heart,
My sister's mean the world to me,
More than life,
All I ever wanted was a complete family,
To have a mother whom I never met,
My family will always remain who they are in my heart and soul,
My family is more important than my friends and my lover,
Family will always come first,
Family is family,
No matter what they did they'll always remain family.

White Houses
Crashed on the floor when i moved in
This little bungalow with some strange new friends
Stayed up too late, and I'm too thin
We promise each other it's till the end
Now we're spinning empty bottles, it's the fives of us
With pretty-eyed boys girls die to trust
I can't resist the day oh no i can't resist the day
And Jenny screams out and it's no pose
'Cause when she dances she goes and goes
Beer through the nose on an inside joke
And I'm so excited I haven't spoken
And she's so pretty and she's so sure
Maybe I'm more clever than a girl like her
The summer's all in bloom
The summer's ending soon
It's all right
And it's nice not to be so alone
But I hold on to secrets in white houses
Maybe I'm a little bit over my head
I come undone at the things he said
He's so funny in his bright red shirt
we were all in love and we all got hurt
I sneak into his car's cracked leather seat
The smell of gasoline in the summer heat
Boy we're going way too fast
It's all too sweet to last...
It's alright and i put myself in his hands
but i hold on to secrets in White Houses
Love or something ignites in my veins
and i pray it never fades in white houses
My first time
Hard to explain
Rush of blood, oh
And a little bit of pain
On a cloudy day
It's more common than you think
He's my first mistake
Maybe you were all faster than me
We gave each other up so easily
These silly little wounds will never mend
I feel so far from where I've been
So I go and I will not be back here again
I'm gone as the day is fading on white houses
I lie, put my injuries all in the dust
In my heart is the 5 of us in white houses
And you, maybe you'll remember me
What I gave is yours to keep
In white houses
In white houses
In white houses.

Bad Behaviour
I'm heading up to London, sat on a train;
The children, sat near to me, are being a pain.
Two are lounged lengthways across the seats,
And constantly pester their mother for sweets.
The girl, sat behind me, keeps on kicking my seat;
Their belongings are strewn around, far from neat.
The boy is so comfy, that he's removed his shoes;
Their behaviour makes me want to blow a fuse!
The boy happily drops sweet wrappers everywhere,
But, about his behaviour, his mother does not care.
Bored, the boy steals his little sister's teddy bear:
About her being upset, he simply does not care.
Now the children are running round and about;
The children, and their mother, constantly shout.
All three children are constantly whinging:
Their behaviour has me inwardly cringing.
On his seat, the boy, aged about eight, is now stood;
Their behaviour is a galaxy away from being good.
I can't believe the mother lets them act this way:
She really needs to keep their behaviour at bay.
This is not how these children should behave:
About their behaviour, I want to rant and rave.
At Clapham Junction, the family leave the train:
I celebrate inside, as they were driving me insane.

On Purpose
I see the blood dripping down my arm.
Red liquid in a running line
I smell the blood dripping down my arm.
Irony and salty
I hear the blood dripping down my arm.
Making splashes as drops hit the floor
I taste the blood dripping down my arm.
Mineraly and smooth
I feel the blood dripping down my arm.
A tickle covering immense pain
Because I cut myself
On purpose
