I love the faces of people in triumph,
Trumpets blow to ride the falcons
Into skies of gold, golden skies are us.

I live along the periods of doubt
To suppress my dreams of taste,
Food concentrates its liquor in my puzzled
Mind. I do not know the tests of these
People.

Justice, despair,
Are worries of the soul
As the men of understanding concern
Themselves with desires and lusts
Of learning.

The courts are against the customs
And traditional desserts,
Foolish puddings blow apart
As just men preserve the jam

people in my neighborhood

undivided by vanity
an unbroken sea of humane humanity
people must rely on a shoulder to cry one
we all are people

rich or poor
used or new
let us be valued as people

Where do I start and where do I begin

Without you I know now I am nothing

After saying it to all the people I know

I never once took the time to say to you I love you so

To you I sincerely apologize

What was I thinking why did I criticize

Certainly I was being obtuse and unwise

I never looked close enough the see me in your eyes

To you I am really sorry

I was so foolish and angry

I took you for granted

But you was all that I ever needed

Now after all the things I’ve said and done

You never saw me as the villain

I swear that I am so sorry

Mine eyes were truly blurry

To the fountain of the coppersmiths, when first
The double cypress showed upon the east.
He's home, poor fool, hoarse as a moulting bird
From loud throat-loyalty.
'The banners burn
Still in my soul,' he cries, 'as then in air.
The gray air, the gray houses, and the flowers,
The flowers, my father! Thyme and twisted sweets
From the blue hills I dream of, and thin bells
Of faery folds; pomegranates spun in flame,
Flame of red rose and golden, flame of sound
Blown from hot-throated trumpets, and the flame
Of her proud eyes !–
She rode beside the duke
In velvet coloured as a pansy is
And threaded round with gold. Her mantle strained
On the warm wind behind her, golden too,
Gold as the spires of lilies, and her hair
And her dark eyes were danced across with gold.'
Gold, gold, poor fool, and she was bought for gold,
A golden grief to ride at a duke's rein.
Eh well ! The great grow love-in-idleness
About their courts. Did Guidarello see
Our general too ? 'A little, tired old man,
Clad in worn sables with a silver star,'
He told me, 'fain to find his house and sleep.'
