Half-Heard, Half-Seen

A half-heard gasp, and I go clothed to the tooth,
Of the night there is an empty market,
And now in imagination the fortnight arrives
Which is more or less obsolete.

The elemental forces are rather chaotic
In our endeavours and misdemeanours.
Upon the tiles we strut and walk haphazardly,
Finding what we have climbed in the thoughts.

As a result, seas make an act of burning and gasping,
Of herds of buffalo, of independent objects that slay
As the mighty ones more deadly.

My gasping is for you, my riding is for your belly,
Much deserved is your freedom, for we worry
From results of the melodies that are old.

My half-seen wonders amass, at hand I know
The actions and words of the ideal company.

A Tightwad Tooth Fairy Called Griselda

There was a tightwad tooth fairy
and Griselda was her name.
When you had your teeth out
and put them under the pillow
she would come along and pinch them
and leave nothing in return.
You would wake up in the morning;
look under your pillow for some dosh,
but under your pillow was empty there.
As you looked at the empty space,
you knew straight away
that Griselda the tightwad tooth fairy
had been about.
Complaints followed complaints
to fairly land
about this tightwad tooth fairy.
The fairy council
had never heard of such a thing.
A tightwad tooth fairy.
Oh, this could never be.
They had never had a case
of a tooth fairy leaving no money.
Something had to be done.
Griselda was called
and stood before the council
and asked to explain why
she was a tightwad
and left no money behind.
The miserly tooth fairy
thought for a moment.
She was saving some money
to buy herself a fairy yacht,
only it took a lot of teeth
to purchase one of them.
For her crimes,
she was sent to work with Santa’s Elves.
She sits in the toy factory
banging happily away,
because if the truth were known
she didn’t want to be a tooth fairy anyway.

Tooth And Nail

I'm tired of all this cheap talk
When you walk next to me
They say I ain't good enough for you
Why don't they come and tell me
When they see us out in the night
They can't wait to tear us apart
Now I hear them saying lovin' you ain't right
Well they'd better be ready 'cause honey I'll be there
I will fight tooth and nail
Count on me, I will not fail you
I will fight tooth and nail
They say I'm always breaking promises
And I'm just fooling with you
Then they try and come between the two of us
Man, that's a bad thing to do
I can say I had more than enough
But I ain't gonna take it too hard
I said hey, they want to play rough
Well let's see who backs down when the trouble starts
I will fight tooth and nail
Count on me, I will not fail you
I will fight tooth and nail
Come on try me, I won't give in
They take advantage, but they can't win
I'll be your man, baby, wait and see
Ain't nobody, nobody take your love from me
I will fight tooth and nail
I was wrong, I will not fail you
I will fight tooth and nail
I'll be your man, baby, wait and see
Ain't nobody, nowhere take your love away from me
I will fight tooth and nail
Count on me, I will not fail you
I will fight tooth and nail
Right now, tooth and nail
I am waiting for the fight
Tooth and nail
Right now, c'mon, tooth and nail
Right now, tooth and nail
C'mon, tooth and nail
Ah fight
Tooth and nail
Right now, c'mon, tooth and nail
C'mon, right now, tooth and nail

A Pen Gone Dry

Barren fields…empty places
Mind devoid of idea and rhyme
Sterile imagination…featureless faces
Webs in memories, frozen in time

Fingers flaccid, mind unwilling
Heavy lies this heart of mine
Creative forces not fulfilling
Empty flask of poetic wine

Dried up source of poetic spring
Used up store of poetic phrases
Emptied purse with untied string
Like worn out shoes and old frayed laces

Time away… might grow the field
Time away… might fill the empty places
Perhaps time will let the emptiness yield
To imagination…and full featured faces

Now...inkwell empty
Tear in eye
Pristine paper
Pen... gone dry...

Diamonds Are From Forever

Silent, they speak
of the elemental:
clear as water, clear as air,
bright as fire, sparkling as sunlight,
hot from the Sun, cold as ice,
yet created out of blackest earth
by forces beyond our imagination

and I wouldn’t be surprised
if one day they’ll be found
to emit a sound so far beyond heard sound
that only dolphins and eagles may
hear it a thousand miles away and smile;
elemental, the most beautiful paradox
of the so practical, created world

and sparkling at the throat, on ears,
the haloed tiara on the up-piled hair,
but most of all, upon the outstretched finger - look -
silent, they speak: he loves me; or,
I am loved; or, this is the love
I draw to me; or, this is the love
I have in me to give

silent, they speak
of the spark of a severed sun,
spinning a solar system of such
solemn, sparkling paradox – a burning Sun,
a fertile planet Earth, revolving
around each other like forever lovers
who need each other to be one -
an incandescent mass of already
cooling planet beyond all
measured heat; of something

even beyond paradox, that could create
by laws of nature which we can only now begin to imitate,
something so ordinary a pebble yet
so beautiful when polished, treasured,
that it’s a metaphor for love;
silent, sparkling with
the laughing, bright-eyed question -

who created love?

A Jeremiad

As the swimmer propelled himself through the watery furrows
His arms thrashing admirably to clear a path
His legs churning admirably to push and be pulled
Into the vaccuum created by his sweeping arms
The cameras followed his course from every conceivable angle
Even-yes, even from below, leaving nothing to the imagination
The TV viewer being denied not a single drop
Not a single breath or gasp for air:
Such coverage is, indeed, admirable-
Nothing is left to the dull imagination:
To the dull imagination, thrashing away behind closed lids.
Nothing at all.
Soon, when there has long been nothing to imagine
When image replaces imagination, entirely,
When 'news' replaces reason entirely
When imagination is replaced entirely by technology
And reality by its virtual version
Imagination will prove an unnecessary, even risky, commodity
Soon the imagination will prove an encumbrance
And be forbidden completely by people with cameras and badges.
But please don't get me wrong, I've a camera myself-
In fact, my best friend is a photographer.

Justice And Revenge

the temptation is always there
that when a tooth is removed
then it must be paid with a tooth
that when life, to be frank about it,
is taken, then the taker must be put to death

there is this feeling
that an empty space must be filled
with revenge

they will wait for me now
and it will be long
too long that they will look for me
and ask me what i am doing
and i will tell them
i am just giving back
fairly
what you have all
taken from me

Sunset Heighting Aire

Barley sixteen and half unseen,
Who in battle engaged and never gave up,
When a sunset heights the air,
Tree's swaying, standing bare,
Like in that there,
Place of feelings where-
A sunset heights the are
Half empty filling up the day,
Empty empty full of rays,
A sunset heights the air,
The menacing mighty wind where,
This there place of feelings was,
Half empty, half full.

It Must Be Imagination

by Kenny Loggins & Tom Snow
When the feeling isn't right
They say you see it in a lovers eye
But I'm wide awake tonight
'N I'm looking for a reason why
It doesn't show
Still somehow I know
Tell me that it just ain't so
Say I made the whole thing up
It must be imagination
Why can't I forget it
God, you'd think I'd know better
It must be imagination
Gone completely out of my mind
It must be imagination
Tearin' me apart
'N breakin' my heart
You can say what is real
You can tell me if I'm in a dream
'Cause I know what I feel
But I don't know what to believe
Turn on the night light
Even if it takes us all night
I gotta be sure by daylight
If I've made this whole thing up
It must be imagination
Tell me if I'm right
'Cause it's changing my life
It must be imagination
Everybody knows
There ain't no way to fight it
It must be imagination
Breakin' my heart
'N tearing me apart
If I'm only dreamin'
Then I'm cryin' in my sleep
You should be shakin' me
Why ain't you wakin' me up?
It must be imagination
God I must be losin' my mind
It must be imagination
Does anybody know
Is there anyway to fight it?
It must be imagination
All in my mind, all in my mind
It must be imagination
If you wanna go, I just got to know
It must be imagination
Oooh tell me what's the problem
Why you wanna go on breakin' my heart?

merchandise food stalls await any takers

Lads of Highest Nature

Lads of highest nature can evolve one at a time,
Each other they share on their only mightiness.
A single feat has attained a finality in the argument,
As a controversy is obsolete, all, all obsolete.
My tailor is a dress-maker of higher repute than the next one,
A workman is glad, proud and necessary because of his trade.
My money has not arrived from my craft, just as craft,
I do also look at the individual who connects as much as possible.

The money is entrancing and I am enthralled,
Plato has never been so impressed by my imagination-
It carried me through the generations and my old age.
The old poem has written itself, and I am again in love with my word.
Plato and Aristotle are blinking and I am in the way of their thoughts.
Practical thinking is the most careful over the poem, of thought.

My Choice

There's a cup half full
and one half empty.
From which one shall I drink?
I will always drink
from the one half full
for I'm an optimist.
Iwill not drink
from a cup half empty
for then I will persist
with a fear of losing
and never having enough.
So set 2 cups before me
My decision isn't tough.

Ch 02 The Morals Of Dervishes Story 22

It is related that a hermit consumed during one night ten mann of food and perused the whole Quran till morning. A pious fellow who had heard of this said: ‘It would have been more excellent if he had eaten half a loaf and slept till the morning.’

Keep thy interior empty of food
That thou mayest behold therein the light of marifet.
Thou art empty of wisdom for the reason
That thou art replete with food up to the nose.

For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her

What a dream I had
Pressed in organdy
Clothed in crinoline
Of smoky burgundy
Softer than the rain
I wandered empty streets
Down past the shop displays
I heard cathedral bells
Tripping down the alleyways
As I walked on
And when you ran to me
Your cheeks flushed with the night
We walked on frosted fields
Of juniper and lamplight
I held your hand
And when I woke
And felt you warm and near
I kissed your honey hair
With my grateful tears
Oh I love you girl
