Curses
Curses may belittle the mailing of thoughts
That are derived by the eye of intelligence.
Curses made munching a task by the wrong spider,
A slave-animal hasn’t got too many fleas.

Return
Once more. Look: a spent old scarecrow
shrivelled face
straw-dry shadow
swaying like a leaf
bending and swaying over books.
Once more. Look: a spent old crone
weaving and weaving
knitted stockings
mouth full of curses
lips forever mumbling curses.
There’s the household cat
has not moved since I left,
still dreaming by the stove
playing cat and mouse
in his dream.
And as ever, in darkness
the spider weaves
hanging its web
full of swollen fly corpses
in the dark west corner.
You’ve not changed:
All old as the hills.
Nothing new.
I’ll join you, old cronies!
Together we’ll rot till we stink.

The Connaughtman Returning
There's a grey fog over Dublin of the curses,
It blinds my eyes, mavrone, and stops my breath;
And I travel slow that once could run the swiftest,
And I fear ere I meet Mauryeen I'll meet Death.
There's a grey fog over Dublin of the curses,
And a grey fog dogs my footsteps as they go,
And it's long and sore to tread, the road to Connaught.
Is it fault of brogues or feet I fare so slow?
There's a grey fog over Dublin of the curses,
But the Connaught wind will blow it from my way,
And a Connaught girl will kiss it from my memory,
If the Death that walks beside me will delay.
(There's a grey fog over Dublin of the curses,
And no wind comes to break its stillness deep;
And a Connaughtman lies on the road to Connaught,
And Mauryeen will not kiss him from his sleep-Ululu!)

The pity of the old
The old man curses are akin
To that of a raped slave in that
Both are powerless to revolt
And die sans means to take revenge.

Descending
Have mercy baby
Im descending again
Open your eyes
This time its sink or its swim
No sermons on ascending
No verdict on deceit
No selfish memorandum
No confusion for me
Chorus:
Curses
Curses and clues
A feast for fools
Have mercy baby
And hand me downs
It was just a few years ago
Youd hand me ups and map
Right out of town
But I would let it slide
Like mercury
Silver and quick
Poisonous and deadly
So deadly

Justice is done by Him
Crying for His benediction
Thou lost somewhere
in the crowd of
Thy filthy desires.
Thou served thy petty self-interest
Amidst curses and sins,
Now thou wish to amend
When thy flesh is leaving thy bones,
When thy light is fading,
Thou art scared of Thy palsy,
Thy ruin,
Thy never ending
pain
Thou art at the threshold of
Thy final destination.
Now thou will never get respite
From thy misfortune,
Until thou art forgiven by them
Whose curses thou invited
For justice is done by Him.

Evangeline
(robbie robertson)
She stands on the banks of the mighty mississippi
Alone in the pale moonlight
Waitin for a man, a riverboat gambler
Said that hed return tonight
They used to waltz on the banks of the mighty mississippi
Lovin the whole night through
He was a riverboat gambler off to make a killin
And bring it on back to you
Evangeline evangeline
Curses the soul of the mississippi queen
That pulled her man away
Bayou sam from south louisian
Had gamblin in his veins
Evangeline from the maritime
Was slowly goin insane
High on the top of a hickory hill
She stands in the lightning and thunder
Down on the river the boat was a sinkin
She watched that queen go under
Evangeline evangeline
Curses the soul of the mississippi queen
That pulled her man away
Evangeline evangeline
Curses the soul of the mississippi queen
That pulled her man away

Cushions
Each one has got a set of grouse
Against people, events and rules.
Natural justice is elusive.
Curses are the alternatives.
Each one would compare and compete
To end up being dejected.
His solace is assessing lapses
From those better placed than him.
Each one consoles himself feeling
That he is still good in some respects
And waits for others’ downfall
Cursing for the self denial.
Each one resigns himself to the fact
That life is not fair to all and
That existence works in a mystery.
Fate and luck are the assigned roles.
Each one is helpless about future,
Taking credit for the success
And blaming others for failures.
Regrets and curses are cushions.

Buried Alive
I speak in verses prophecies and curses
I speak in verses prophecies and curses
I hate my life
The miracle is coming its just a hole
Nothings wrong with you, just maintain control
Everyones asking questions, your place is safe
Ill forfeit resurrection to escape the pain
I hate my life
I hate my life
I HATE MY LIFE
(I hate my life)
I HATE MY LIFE
(I hate my life)
I HATE MY LIFE
(I hate my life)
I speak in verses prophecies and curses
The storm of thorns is growing
There is no end in sight
Chaos claws my jaw
Thank Metal riot
Im in the mouth of madness with this tongue of poetry
I ate the spine of atlas, now the world is crushing me
I hate my life
I hate my life
I HATE MY LIFE
(I hate my life)
I HATE MY LIFE
(I hate my life)
I HATE MY LIFE
(I hate my life)

Fleas
My thoughts are like fleas,
Eternally skipping.
I try as I please
To prevent their slipping,
To probe them for more meant
Than my wit can utter;
But out of the torment
They quiver and flutter,
Dance, sparkle, and vanish
With insolent ease.
To hold or to banish
My thoughts are like fleas.

A Poem For J.M.
you don't bother me
even if you leave even if you are gone for weeks
and you do not tell me where you are
if you curse me i simply listen
i am attuned to curses
since birth
i can always remember how curses
hurt for the first time
but often repeated and repeated like a chant
in fact it becomes
comforting on the idea that you still make me
feel that i exist
if you are a thorn
i refuse to be another thorn
how can a rose bloom
if we are all thorns
in the garden
of Eden?
you don't irritate me
i have all discarded what sensitivity is left inside me
there is no more
lethargy
neither can you find its opposite
that unworded
ecstacy
you see at the age of thirty
i have already known myself
well rounded stone
hard and smooth
and
freed from the freckles of feelings

Spiderman
Spider man, spider man
Does whatever a spider can
Spins a web any size
Catches thieves just like flies
Look out!
There comes the spider man
Is he strong?
Listen, bud
Hes got radioactive blood
Can he swing from a thread?
Take a look overhead
Hey, there!
There goes the spider man
In the chill of the night
At the scene of a crime
Like a streak of light
He arrives just in time
Spider man, spider man
Friendly neighborhood spider man
Wealth and fame
Hes ignorant
Action is his reward
Look out!
Here comes the spider man
To him, lifes a big bang up
Whenever theres a hang up
Youll find the spider man.

My hand yearns not what my eyes have seen.
Though the eyes plead to hands,
'Show me again, learn it forever,
so when my heart aches I can look
to my memories of what I so love.
I never want to forget. wish to
memorize,
the features and the shadows,
even more - the eyes, ' Yet, Curses!
my graphite speaks Dark, and
too dark for those lite eyes
some who I love behold. And more,
Curses! If all these eyes be dark, can I never forget the dark eyes that torture and tempt.
If you look, you will fall.
Fall, fall, you have failed.

Big fleas have little fleas upon their backs to bite them, and little fleas have lesser fleas, and so ad infinitum.
Slave To Love
You're the hunter, I'm the game
Since we met, I'm not the same
The hunger in you can't be satisfied
You had a secret strategy
To take control and capture me
I lost my will and now I'm paralyzed
We made a slave to love
That's what I'll always be
A victim of your touch
You stole my soul and now I'm just a slave to love, yeah
It took one night at your hotel
To fall from grace into your spell
I can't believe you brought me to my knees
You kiss me once and love me twice
I'm on your mental sacrifice
Your target's touch was hot and aim to please
We made a slave to love
That's what I'll always be
A victim of your touch
You stole my soul and now I'm just a slave to love
Oh, I'm being used
Been held hostage for so long
Is this a one way love affair
Really wrong
We made a slave to love
That's what I'll always be
A victim of your touch
You stole my soul and now I'm just a slave to love
Just a slave to love
Just a slave to love
A victim of your touch

Animal Boy
Gonna kill and destroy
I'm not an Animal Boy
Why don't they understand
I'm not an ape man
Don't have brain damage
I'm not an a wild savage
Don't push me around
Don't bring my head down
Animal Boy
Animal Boy
Animal Boy
I'm not an imbecile
Don't treat me like an animal
I'm not a creature in the zoo
Don't tell me what to do
Animal Boy
Animal Boy
Animal Boy
You don't know what it's like
You don't know how I feel
I don't have a monkey's brain
I'm not an animal
You can't lock me in a cage
This ain't the Stoneage
Better get out of my way
Someone's gonna have to pay
Animal boy
Animal boy
Animal boy
Animal boy

Peace Now
In the course of time
A child was taken up as before,
Who made a living answer
And should have peace now.
Farming his bit of land
He was the young, that should
Be sent to college
For a long string of tales.
I never saw a child
About curses and souls,
His fancy was but for heaps
Of laughter, in patience.
Fifty times a day he wept
For work was a fulltime wrong,
He flung the paper into the bin,
He had ways too tough.
Teaching made him linger
And so he reformed to the best,
Pride and gratitude he became,
An adult man was his inclination.
Relentless times sought him,
Yet he still did not suffer
Like the children of the farm,
Who never suffered.

Night Worker
A spider spun his web all night
and waited patiently.
A fly had circled all the morn
and buzzed there cautiously.
The spider watched and stayed so still.
No movement did he make.
And by and by the fly descended
and landed wide-awake.
He spotted the spider and tried his best
to escape the sticky trap.
The spider watched and slowly moved
and the fly with his handicap
became the bait inside the web
that the spider made at night.
The spider had his breakfast early
in the morning light.

Struck At The Core
You hurt and so are angry
For I have thus struck at the core
I can read your life like poetry
And can the trace the roots of the sore.
Your childhood days reflect the source
Of your curses and your words today
And your heart is controlled by an evil force
Led your tongue and your speech astray.
The anger there reacts when naked
Exposed of the tendrils that had it bound
Releasing pangs of language wicked
Curses, profanity where it abounds.
Unless that past of bitterness healed
The tongue will never speak what's right
And only in humble surrender must yield
To focus on God and follow all sight.

Isa Nutter
Doc Meyers said I had satyriasis,
And Doc Hill called it leucaemia --
But I know what brought me here:
I was sixty-four but strong as a man
Of thirty-five or forty.
And it wasn't writing a letter a day,
And it wasn't late hours seven nights a week,
And it wasn't the strain of thinking of Minnie,
And it wasn't fear or a jealous dread,
Or the endless task of trying to fathom
Her wonderful mind, or sympathy
For the wretched life she led
With her first and second husband --
It was none of these that laid me low --
But the clamor of daughters and threats of sons,
And the sneers and curses of all my kin
Right up to the day I sneaked to Peoria
And married Minnie in spite of them --
And why do you wonder my will was made
For the best and purest of women?

Ecclesiastes Of A Youth: Part 2
II:
Surely I’m sinful since I was born,
Vile from the very time of mybirth
From that time, I’ve missed the *mark of God,
Have fallen short of His righteousness!
So again I spoke to the Father,
“Curse ev’rything that my heart’s proud of
. if it cannot please You, O Father!
Let all my knowledge from me be off
. if they cannot please You, O Father!
Curse all my success to be worthless
. if I am not pleasing you, Father!
Let my self strengths to me be curses
. if am not pleasing You, Father!
Let all my pride became shame to me
. if I can’t make You smile, O Father!
Let all my golds be curses to me
. if I can’t make You smile, O Father!
Let all my laughter turn to sorrow
. if I can’t learn to please You, Father!
Let all my rejoices be hollow
. if I can’t learn to please You, Father! '
