Ceiling of Life
I want so many years, fifty, sixty;
More than death, more than life;
When we have an unexpected ceiling
Tumble down on us.
I want to see your hair after so many years,
In the glow after lands have passed
My forever journey has kept a sin
So well until half-light turns to darkness.
I want to learn like a trance,
An exit to heaven is the desirability,
The only dear journey,
The one flight I have hair for.

Perhaps I'll Never Again See Old Clara Mountain
I'm getting on in years and looking older even than my age of two years with three score
And perhaps I'll never again see old Clara Mountain and climb the high fields up through Claramore
In Claraghtalea I started my life's journey but I'm not to know where and when that journey will end
In sixty two years I've known a lot of people but not everyone I've known I'd call a friend
I often think about the Town of Millstreet where mine once was a fairly well known face
Though there today I well might be a stranger a stranger even in my old Homeplace
I am one of many migrants from Duhallow for to try my luck in the big World out there
Duhallow people are known to be travellers and one from there one could meet anywhere
I often think of those I went to school with many of them the grandparents of today
Perhaps the years have left them looking older even some of them with the departed lay
It has been many years since I've last seen them the years eventually do tell on all
On looking back our young years went so quickly and for everyone of us a final Fall
Perhaps I'll never again see old Clara Mountain or walk in the fields where the rank rushes grow
In Claraghatlea I began my life's journey but where and when that journey will end I'm not to know.

What A Journey
What a journey this has been
This journey that leads me to you
It has been full of twists and turns
And has lead me to the purest prize
That, my dear, is you
Oh what a prize it is to have
You, a beautiful goddess from heaven
Surely it is the grandest prize of all
Surely it is worth more than gold
Worth more than anything
This journey thankfully
Has brought me to you
It has been worth every second pain
Only if you accept my love for you
And let this journey take us away
To a life of love so pure
Oh what a journey that would be
If we were in love
Together and made a journey of our own

Tumble Down The Years
She took my hand and said lets go together
You and me against the world
And so we stuck it out through still and stormy weather
And so we tumbled down the years
I took her hand and said lets go together
Just you and me against the world
Lets go together
Stay together
Well tumble down the years
And well come to find the key behind it all
We never stopped to see if we were still in step
We never checked each others eyes
To see who lived in there behind them
And down the years we disappeared
Lets go together
Say no together
Well tumble down the years
Lets try together
Lets lie together
Well tumble down the years
And though we never found the key behind it all
I think we came to know the meaning of the fall
Lets go together
We said forever
You and me against the world
Hold on together
And damn the river
Well tumble down the years
Well tumble down the years
Well tumble down the years

For Everyone The Life Journey
For everyone the life journey is different though a journey that for all of us must end
Along the way we meet some who do not like us But we also do make many a good friend
And on the journey we learn many lessons we've been learning from life since before we did crawl
And every day we live in life for us a lesson and that applies to you and me and all
And on our life journey we make many mistakes and for every one of them some price to pay
But we must struggle onwards towards the finish and every dawning for us a new day
For many life's road more uphill than downhill it is a hard journey to undertake
We have the good days and we have the bad days and every dawn to a new challenge we wake
Tomorrow is another day they will tell you and tomorrow in it's own good time will come
But tomorrow will not be for everybody today's will be the last sunset for some
For every one of us life's journey is different so different for you as it is for me
And our thinking on most things are quite different we all look at life so very differently
For everyone the life journey has to end sometime but where or when we are not meant to know
For some it will end before they reach their prime years and for some when they are walking slow.

Ten Grey hairs and a silver one
I discovered my first grey hair
when I was Seventeen years old
It had to do with broken up my first relationship
I discovered my second grey hair
when I was Twenty years old
It had to do with the quarrels at home
I discovered my third grey hair
when I was Twenty-one years old
It had to do with searching for work
I discovered my fourth grey hair
when I was Twenty-three years old
It had to do with loosing my job
I discovered my fifth grey hair
when I was Twenty-five years old
It had to do with giving up my unborn child
I discovered my sixth grey hair
When I was Twenty-eight years old
It had to do with opening my pub
I discovered my seventh grey hair
When I was thirty years old
It had to do with giving birth to my daughter
I discovered my eight grey hair
When I was thirty –two years old
It had to do with the first day at the kinder garden school
I discovered my ninth grey hair
When I was thirty-four years old
It had to do with to find out that some thing was missing
I discovered my tenth grey hair
When I was thirty-five years old
It had to do with the fights between my sisters and mum
My one Silver hair I discovered lately
Has to do with you
Because I miss you so hard …

The Dying Ex Football Champion
Around his bed his friends and family but of them he's not aware
His life's journey about to end old Joe the ex footballer player
On his back his eyes closed to his surroundings the life from him ebbing away
Last month he celebrated his eightieth birthday and today his life's final day.
Pre-deceased by his wife Mel she died five years ago
The last two years of his life's journey for him painful and slow
Most of those he played with and against in his football years to the Reaper long gone
But like the battler that he is to the end he's battling on.
Fifty five years ago the Captain of the great Premiership team
By football fans from near and far he was held in high esteem
But time takes care of everyone and everyone means all
And time has also taken toll of the champion of football.
Around his bed his friends and family a silent vigil keep
The end of his life's journey no more than an hour away he is in his final sleep
'Tis a fact those who love life do find it hard to die
But 'tis also a fact that all human beings are mortals and facts do never lie.

Thirty Eight Years...time really got wings!
Braving through the ocean of emotions...
Life's journey....38 years whizzed by..
Time has wings and it really did fly..
Twas a long journey, life's emotional battle and managed to survive
When from heaven came in two angels to my dreams to revive...
So much love, joy, laughter, tears that each dawning day met.
Made the uncertainty the confusion so easy rapidly to forget..
Unmoved by the passing expected storms with many a weep..
Helped shape my life to daringly climb the mountains so steep..
then came another sweet angelic two with the blessing from above..
It filled my heart with the sweetest fragrance of eternal love..
Sharing individually, collectively days, a many that were not a song
It so true.. almost a half a century and we manage to trudge along..
through the years a journey that keeps still a sailing in the same majestic fleet
till the angels call and hopefully in the land of no return more happiness we meet!
Were you that 19 year old in dark glasses, the drummer that came so long long ago
I was ust seventeen and half that photo of you in my heart lives on forever more....tnx

Sonnet I
I thought once how Theocritus had sung
Of the sweet years, the dear and wished-for years,
Who each one in a gracious hand appears
To bear a gift for mortals, old or young:
And, as I mused it in his antique tongue,
I saw, in gradual vision through my tears,
The sweet, sad years, the melancholy years,
Those of my own life, who by turns had flung
A shadow across me. Straightway I was 'ware,
So weeping, how a mystic Shape did move
Behind me, and drew me backward by the hair:
And a voice said in mastery, while I strove,--
'Guess now who holds thee ? '--' Death,' I said. But, there,
The silver answer rang,--' Not Death, but Love.'

The Journey without shortcuts
The Journey traveled without shortcuts,
is a journey worth taking.
For there are no shortcuts,
to any place worth going.
The destination does not matter,
but the Journey to it does.
For at the destination,
you will not learn anything.
You will not accomplish much either.
On the Journey to it, however,
you learn many things,
and accomplish much.
On the Journey,
you learn. You learn that,
'We are not human beings on a spiritual journey,
but spiritual beings on a human journey.' (-my good friend Joe)
So travel hard,
and travel well.
Choose your companions wisely,
and leave everything behind.
Never look back,
always move forward.
For 'Yesterday is history,
and history is miles away.' (-Matthew West)
But never forget anything either,
learn all that you can,
and treasure the good times.
Then this Journey will be like no other.
This is the Journey,
of life.
Our life here on Earth,
so don't take shortcuts.
This Journey won't be easy,
but you have a guide.
The guide will never leave your side,
and he will carry you through the rough terrain.
He loves you more than you will ever know,
and he gave you this Journey,
so travel it while holding his hand.
You are not alone.
So again,
never look back,
but don't forget either,
and don't stop.
Don't take any shortcuts,
run the whole race.
You are not alone
on this Journey,
the Journey of life.

Journey to Be
I think I'll journey out some day to wondrous lands afar,
Or even chart a journey to a distant blazing star.
But rest assured that when my journey begs to take its cue,
Always know that when I go, this journey takes you too.
We'll start our journey out from here by horse and cart of old,
The seaside docks - and journey pauses - where we shall behold
A noble schooner for the journey primed to launch as planned:
To sail with dolphins cross the seas then journey back on land.
And so our journey goes by foot to conquer mountains tall:
A chapter hence the journey reached, with scenes that should enthral.
But when we tire, let's rest our journey, stretched in fields of flowers,
And bathe atop the mountain from the journey - autumn showers!
Refreshed, our journey takes a turn - we'll venture back for home,
But first we'll let the journey take a tangent just to roam.
And in the winding route, this journey's bound to bide content,
But most of all take heed - let's make our journey life's event.

Sorrow
I walked into the park and saw a young man sitting by a flower bed
I asked him why he looked so miserable and this is what he said,
“Sixty years ago I fell in love with a beautiful girl and now she has to die
I knew her time would come one day, but the years have just flashed by.
I knew that it was wrong to love her, but my heart ruled over my head.
I was there when she was born at home and I stood by her mother’s bed.
As the years passed I watched over her, and proposed when she was sixteen.
She was so young and beautiful then, and everyday we lived a dream.
She didn’t know that I was different and I just couldn’t bear to tell her so,
but she had suspicions as her hair greyed, and my age didn’t show.
And now my heart is breaking because I want to die and be with my wife,
without her my life isn’t worth living, and I no longer want this life.
For sixty years life has been wonderful for me and my only true love,
but soon I must take her up and leave her in the heavens above.
I don’t know how I’m going to take the woman I adore from my side.
I’m sorry for sharing my sorrow with you, ” and as he left he cried.

Fifty Years Of Marriage
With dye and hair colouring they cover their gray
Their fifty years of marriage they celebrate today
Through fifty years of marriage they have argued their way
In their love hate relationship one well might say.
Their better days one can say for them are long gone
And they age without grace though time is ticking on
Their children are grand-parents and the years on them show
Since they too are ageing and their fastest pace slow.
Fifty happy years together by some we are told
But others who know them well and with their words more bold
Will tell you they never did see eye to eye
But why they stay together one must wonder why.
They have stayed together for so many years
One can hardly say of them the lovely old dears
Since they both are quite quarrelsome and grumpy as well
Perhaps without quarrels life for them would be hell.
Fifty years together and the same bed they share
Yet even in public places at each other they swear
Such marriages as their's suppose never were rare
They are not the World's only dysfunctional pair.
Today their descendants will celebrate the marriage of their Pop and Gran
And applaud this wonderful woman and man
But the truth of their marriage they will never tell
How they seem to enjoy giving each other hell.

Journey Into The Stars
Going to a day is like the very journey of Time,
One sits and waits, adores the other person, and fidgets;
A day may arise when that night with it is a flight,
Into the heavens and the universe.
It is a journey, it is a journey, of gravity,
When stars are seen, and planets are visited.
The cosmos is blended with infamous substances,
Full of canes and rods, delightful elements.
The flight to the infinite space is by night,
A day has lengthened on this quest of brilliance.
May this adventure never cease,
Just as death is the beholder of the next life.

Journey Towards Light
Walking on the road, I realized something amiss
On turning my back I saw my shadow had disappeared
Leaving me all alone in my journey towards light;
I searched for my companion everywhere
But to my grief he got lost somewhere in darkness
Leaving me all alone in my journey towards light
I don’t know how to pursue my journey without him?
Scared enough to take a step ahead
But determined to achieve my goal I began to walk
Not caring for obstacles and darkness in my path.
After reaching at the end of dark tunnel
I saw a ray of light
My happiness knew no bounds
But there came a voice from somewhere
And it was of my companion shadow
He told me, “My friend your journey in light has just begun
Keep following your path towards wisdom and you shall
Achieve your goal”.
Indeed he was right.
My journey towards light has just begun and
It’s a Long way before I reach my destination.
Journey From A Small Place
I think I'll journey out some day to wondrous lands afar,
Or even chart a journey to a distant blazing star.
I make a journey in a paper
A contemplation ink in white field
I make a journey inside the book
Traveling my imagination in the word ocean
I make a journey under the table
A furious food battle on the ground
I make a journey on top of the roof
Transforming myself among the cloud in the sky
I make a journey outside the glass
A different possibility faces on the transparent canvas
I make a journey at the bridge
Clearing the dark shadow with the water current
I make a journey above the tree
An adventure child who never stops to grow
I make a journey over my pillow
Bringing a piece of dream to reality world

We are on a higher journey,
We are on a Higher Journey,
We are on a Higher Journey,
Just remember that many need to learn about time's,
We are on a Journey that is never ending,
Thinking of all my composure,
Just hold on and never give up,
We are on a Higher Journey,
Just remember that,
Iam feeling so secure in all my efforts to please my rights,
Stand up for what is right,
Life is worth even more than death,
Just hold on and on,
Never give up on any struggle's,
Remember that we came from far,
The journey is a never ending destiny.
