Blind Eye
On its own accord my eye changes
During the times of our society.
The other eye is heard by everyone somehow.
This is my connection to hearing,
For those blind see through no eyes
And so do not notice and explain and concoct.
My existence is mostly from the horizon,
It beams its thought on my head and ceases.
Well made is my eye, yours is to see,
Yet will you notice my blindness somehow?

I'm sorry, I didn't notice
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
When this started to happen
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
I just let it begin
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
The change in anythin'
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
When we stopped talkin'
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
We weren't letting each other in
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
That sad, sad trend
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
The beginning of the end
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
You were no longer my friend
But believe me, now I notice
And it hurts deep within
Now that I notice
I hope you'll be again

I've Come to Notice More Now
I've come to notice more now,
The falling snow.
I've come to notice more now,
A certain purpose...
I had disavowed.
I've come to notice more now,
The core of my being with more meaning.
A joy I can express...
With less emphasis on things collected.
And a happiness I always had,
But somehow did not allow.
I've come to notice more now,
I can.
I've come to notice more now,
I will!
I've come to notice more now,
My needs are basically fulfilled.
Without desire to seek approval,
Sought to identify my peace of mind!
I've come to notice more now,
Thoughts like that I have left behind.
And notice, I do...
My blessings!

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds.

Look At Me
Look at me
Look at my mouth,
the little up-curve at the ends;
Look at my hair
the way I flip it when I talk;
Look at what I wear
some of it is for you.
Notice how I smell.
Notice how I look,
and how I breathe
when you are near;
come close to me;
lean in when we talk.
Touch my face sometimes.
Notice the brown specks
in my green eyes;
touch me
when I walk by;
And laugh a little
for no reason
when you say hello.
Look at me
at odd times
from across the room.
Back into me at parties
expecting a hug
from behind
And thank you love
cause you do all this
all the time.

Obvious
[Shane:]
Yeah, ooooh...
We started as friends
But something happened inside me
Now I'm reading into everything
But there's no sign you hear the lightning, baby
You don't ever notice me turning on my charm
Or wonder why I'm always where you are
[Shane (Westlife):]
I've made it obvious
Done everything but say it
(I've crushed on you so long, but on and on you get me wrong)
I'm not so good with words
And since you never notice
The way that we belong
I'll say it in a love song
[Bryan (Westlife):]
I've heard you talk about
(Heard you talk about)
How you want someone just like me (Bryan echo: just like me)
But everytime I ask you out
(Time I ask you out)
We never move pass friendly, no no
And you don't ever notice how I stare when we're alone
Or wonder why I keep you on the phone
[Shane (Westlife):]
I've made it obvious
Done everything but say it
(I've crushed on you so long but on and on you get me wrong)
I'm not so good with words
And since you never notice
The way that we belong
I'll say it in a love song
Yeah...
[Mark:]
You are my very first thought in the morning
[Shane:]
And my last at nightfall
[Mark:]
You are the love that came without warning
[Mark & Shane:]
I need you, I want you to know
[Shane (Westlife):]
I've made it obvious
So finally I'll say it
(I've crushed on you so long)
I'm not so good with words
And since you never notice
The way that we belong
I'll say it in a love song
[Westlife:]
And sing it until the day you're holding me
I've wanted you so long but on and on you get me wrong
I more than adore you but since you never seem to see
[Shane:]
But you never seem to see
I'll say it in this love song

You Ask Me If I Change
you ask me if i change
i tell you, yes i always change
don't you notice it?
some hairs on my head
are whiter now, and some
have fallen without any
sound, my wrinkles move
and they beget wrinkles
my eyes fail, my hands
tremble, my feet dwindle,
my memory of names and
places are wanting of
particulars
i change. Everything in me
changes beside you and
how can you not notice it?
i know, we are too near
and we are always together
in this familiarity where
changes are everyday and
yes, how could we not notice
all these, my dear?
you are laughing, a lock
of your hair is falling too.

Youth
In my life, been all the places
That I dreamed of since I was a kid
Bury the past, I'm getting on with
Things I never thought I'd get through
So now I know
I don't know anything
Except I notice that
You're still here
I don't want anything
Well that's a lie because
I want you here with me
I made mistakes, I've done some things
That I just wish I could go back and change
But now I'm here, and now I know that I
Can learn from those things that I've done
So now I know
I don't know anything
Except I notice that
You're still here
I don't want anything
Well that's a lie because
I want you here with me
Don't want it back
I like who I've become
I'm right on track
I'm feeling half as young
As I did when I was a kid
In my life, been all the places
That I dreamed of since I was a kid
I don't know anything
Except I notice that
You're still here
I don't want anything
Well that's a lie because
I want you here with me
So now I know

Coppies
I sit and I hear them,
I see them,
But they sound the same,
They look the same.
I sit and I think about them,
Coppies of the same person,
All the same walk,
Same look,
They're all naive, all ignorant bastards!
I sit and I notice everything,
I notice the sounds,
And I notice the birds,
I notice the screaming of the city,
I notice the blindness of THEM.
I sit and wonder,
When will they see themselves,
In the mirror of the other's faces,
When will they tear eachother into pieces,
When will they remove their fake masks? !
I sit and I see the world,
I see it for what it is,
A great black pit,
Filled with people,
Who are filled with shit!
Oh, when will the great castrophony end,
Mm, when it does the sky's shall cry,
The mountains shall erupt with inevitable anger,
When this happens there will be fire! And then...
Nothing.
I sit and I wait,
For that fire to consume the Earth,
I wait for individuality to explode,
I wait for this firery Hell to engulf their minds,
I wait for their sameness to become different!
I sit and writhe in my own skin,
My heart screaming,
I can't live as one of them,
I shall not live that way,
I would rather slit my own damn throat!
I sit and I crawl in my skin,
As if the agony of America were my own,
And still they remain the same,
I scream, I cut, I rip at their minds,
And they remain the same!

Will you notice?
Will You notice when I'm gone?
Will you no when the phone just rings out?
Your sure to have no doubt.
Will you just think I'm sleeping?
Or in another mood.
Will you prejudge me again?
I'm guessing you'll just think.
I'm not near the brink.
But let me tell you this.
You are wrong plain wrong.
Death is taking my hand.
My life I am about to take.
But I only wonder this
Will you even notice I've gone.
But some how I doubt you'll care.
You allways made me feel small.
You never notticed my dipair.
But you'll have to notice my suicide

This Dang Mirror
I glance in the mirror
To only see the monster I have become
Tear drops sting my eyes
I try to hide them
But one by on they come down
Rolling down my cheek
Until I cannot take no more
Then they all start pouring down me
Like a rainy day
What is wrong with me?
That is the question that sings in my head
I cannot do anything right
The laceration is hidden inside
Not a soul can take notice
Take notice of this Emotion Pain
Looking in the mirror
Has made me see
I am truly barbarian
More tears struck my eyes
Knowing what I am
And Cannot Change
Tears me apart.
I am me
That is final
The pain is what I have to accept
You get what you deserve
God, I wish I knew
Exactly what I did
I cant sustain all this...
How long until I just give up?

The Psychiatrist In You
where all eyes feast
on the sexy woman walking down the street
you look the other way around
your eyes
look at their eyes and they do not notice
perhaps only I
notice it, i know that you are different
and i guess it takes one really to
know one
you are so beautiful
you are so mindful, and that makes the real difference

You 'Have' To Notice It
Lets...
Discuss,
Racism.
And how it affects you daily.
'It doesn't.'
Comeon.
You have to notice it?
'I do.'
So...
You are affected.
'No.
I am not.'
Of course you are.
You are obviously black.
A black man.
'And? '
If I were black I would notice that.
Everywhere I would notice it.
Everywhere I went...
It would be on my mind.
In my consciousness.
I'd be full of resentment.
I wouldn't be able to sleep,
Knowing I stood out amongst all people.
I would feel insecure.
Emotionally tormented inside,
With wishes to be white.
I would be...
Are you done?
'Yes.
But I just wanted you to know,
How I would feel...
IF I were a black man.'
Sorry to disappoint you.
Perhaps my commitment,
To having an identity with purpose first...
Has not prioritized my being black.
As much as you have.
Are you hoping one day I will feel inferiror?
'You don't? '
By what or who?
'Those who feel they are better than you.'
I don't fantasize.
But I realize there are many who do.
And I notice them everywhere I go.
You have to notice it too?
'I don't.'

Finding Me
I dont think you notice
When you see my face
I guess youre waiting
To spin me around again
Wheels I guess are turning
Somewhere inside my head
I know that this is
Deeper than you get
But youre coming back again
You dont mean to waste my time
But youre coming back so
Chorus
Dont tell me
How to be
cause I like some suffering
Dont ask me
What I need
Im just fine
Here finding me
Me
Ive already given
Up on getting through
I never question
Who Im talking to
Oh so much for nothing
But nothing means so much
I know its touching
But Ive been out of touch
And its all that I can do
Im a sight for my sore eyes
But its all I am so
Chorus
I dont think you notice
When I cant reach out
I guess youre waiting
On somebody else again
Oh so much for talking
Its all been said before
Im hearing something
But I wish youd just say more
But youre going off again
When I try to just hold on
But youre going off so
Chorus

A Desparate Song
Mockingbirds are the only
birds to sing all the colors.
The most beautiful of them all
is the saddest, and she sings
her lonely song to him,
but he does not notice.
He does not realize that
they are the same.
He only has eyes
for the bluebird.
The very same bluebird
that has tortured the mockingbird
with her songs many times,
claiming to be his only love.
As the mockingbird sings
her sad songs, she is careful
not to sound like the bluebird.
She sings only to him,
only for him,
but he is the only one
that doesn't listen.
Everyone sees her beauty,
except for him.
They see her as a broken heart,
but he doesn't see her.
He doesn't notice whether
she's there or not.
He doesn't notice
the love in her eyes,
or the pain in her voice.
He only knows the bluebird,
and sees her alone
as the beauty of Life,
although he will never
know true beauty:
the beaury of the mockingbird,
or the love that she
would give to him.

A One-way Ticket
I bought a one-way ticket
so I would not return.
No one seemed to notice.
No one showed concern.
The ticket got me nowhere
that I wanted to be.
No one seemed to notice,
no one 'cept for me.
The strangeness of this new place
made me feel so sad.
No one seemed to notice.
Now I really felt bad.
I wish I had that ticket
so I could return
even if no one noticed
or ever showed concern,
no one 'cept for me.

Eclipse
I watch the moon eclipse the sun,
Curving over it in half-light,
Draining its dazzling beams into obscurity.
The moon looks like a king,
Hoisting the dead-sun's crown above its head
The corona latticing over the sky.
It takes dominion—for a brief period—
Of the astral realms that were once warmed
By the explosive temper of an imposing star.
I can look up to the sky,
Unaided by filters or indirect projection,
And admire its curious vastness and vacuity.
I can notice the well painted colors and balance
Of all things—
How spaces defines what I see.
Just then,
As my eyes relax to the diminished, cooling shade,
The sun pushes the moon to the side,
Recapturing control of the day-time
And golden flows cascade down into each open orifice.
The inky tints of my pupils shrink, bleach and bun
White into blindness.
Now I don't see at all.

Confused
A girl at 15 sits in her room and begins to write in her journal.
I just started to notice certain people in a romantic way.
I notice their scent as they walk by.
I remember the sound of their laugh.
I notice ever muscle tone in their body.
And I daydream about their lips kissing mine and taking my breath away.
But I’m confused because those who I have romantic feeling about are the same sex as me
The Rainbow Connection
Why are there so many songs about rainbows and what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions, and rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some choose to believe it.
I know they're wrong wait and see.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.
Who said that wishes would be heard and answered when wished on the morningstar?
Someone thought of that and someone believed it.
Look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing and what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and me.
All of us under its spell.
We know that it's probably magic.
Have you been half asleep and have you heard voices?
I've heard them calling my name.
Is this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors.
The voice might be one and the same.
I've heard it too many times to ignore it.
It's something that I'm supposed to be.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection, the lovers, the dreamers and me.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection, the lovers, the dreamers and me.

Who I'm Starting To See
i use to let you tell me what to do,
i don't know why,
maybe because at the time,
i couldn't think for myself,
it was just something about you,
that made me feel special,
but, now i see what you doing,
little by little,
i see where i went wrong,
giving up part of my power,
and letting you have what you want,
i feel as if you can't trust me,
you snoop through my phone,
when i'm not looking,
just to see who i dial,
i caught you one or twice,
but you thought it was fun and games,
what is wrong with you?
little by little,
i'm starting to think i will be better off,
if only i wasn't with you,
i'm starting to feel trapped,
rather than free and opened,
my friend seem to say,
you're abit controling,
am i being blind sided?
can't really see,
what's in front of me, the whole time?
i think back of when you notice me,
it wasn't until you realize,
what you were slowly losing,
that you put in a little effort,
just to try and be with me,
but, in my eyes,
i'm starting to think it was fake,
you put up a front,
rather than just be yourself,
people don't see,
what i'm starting to see,
a guy who does more talk,
rather than take action,
i don't know why i'm still with you,
i know i'm better than this,
but, i get sucked in,
when you tell me that you miss me,
i don't know why, maybe because,
i don't like the feeling of being alone,
i've been through so much,
at times you helped me through,
other times you made jokes,
about the mistakes i made,
what kind of help are you?
you wanted to perade it,
like it was you business to tell,
what kind of friend are you?
slowly i'm starting to see the real you,
the part i lost sight on,
when everything fell apart,
to make me think,
you just wasn't the one for me.
