The Suit

A man taken in or a suit left behind? Whichever one is it?
You decide!
Door opened man unleashed, pass found, embarrassed they were,
Ashamed she felt; separation and isolation begun.
In pain she silently suffered
In anguish she befriended sorrow since that was all she had and knew
All she was ever good for after that fateful day was a mere conversation comprising a word or two!
Pass me the salt he would at times gently yell
and knowing she had wronged him sometime back,
she would oblige and pass him the salt.
Not wanting to be isolated any longer she would make small talks
but for he was never interested he would pull a straight face
and continue with his meal.
Like a pride of lions feasting on their kill he would
not say a word more during his meal.
A man taken in or a suit left behind enough was enough!
She had decided that tomorrow at dawn all would come to a complete "halt"
Like a normal day he would sit there have his meal
but on this particular day she silently slipped into the other room
and hung herself to death.
In suffocation she kicked and screamed not for his help
but for she was going to suffer no more.
A man taken in or a suit left behind?
Whichever one is it you decide!

The Suit

The Suit

After the surgery my son come visiting
he had brought a dark suit along, hung
it in my wardrobe, said he had brought
it along in case we went to a party.
A fortnight later he flew back home but
left the suit behind so he didn’t have
to bring one next time he came visiting.

Mary to merry

Mary is going to marry', said friend,
May be in days but not in weeks,
'what! I shouted back with anger,
yes, my dear, make no wonder,

Story as such never you carry,
Simple not but still I feel worry,
No word even to feel so sorry,
Why Mary thought? Just to marry,

'Was I not her so close friend? '
She Left no way for me to mend,
I thought hurriedly and put message
Will she buckle and come up with new page?

Friend put a card in the table and ran away,
Wedding card just lay in small tray,
I thought "Was there left no other way? "
Annul the marriage and keep at bay?

Friend just inquired "Will you not come to grace? "
join and enjoy with everybody's embrace,
I was startled and thought "I may miss but not you miss"
offer me nice words with simple grace,

I opened card and just read words
'Mary to marry with bless of lord'
Words were written with ink of Gold
'May I be always with you '

'What a foolish ' I could not guess,
Such a simple thing I made it mess,
What more could I expect than less,
punish me not for being foolish

Words were inscribed with golden ink,
I rejoiced it with no more blink,
I thought no more but went deep to sink
Eyes remained wide open and failed to wink,

I just ran to make a suit,
As I had made long pursuit,
Never had I dreamed of Mary to be mine,
She has decided to marry me is also fine

anything is possible For M'lady Tara

I’d been driving since early morn
and some where I had gone astray
I was weary and travel worn.
I had to find a place to stay.

A good nights rest, a hearty meal
would make a new man out of me
I hoped the road would soon
reveal a wayside inn or hostelry.

I had not seen another soul
since I had left the main highway.
This single track seemed to unroll
in front of me in some strange way.

I was too tired to concentrate
I was fatigued and needed rest
I knew the hour was growing lat
and I decided it would be best

To book into the first hotel
or bed and breakfast I could find.
Either one would suit me well
I did not care I would not mind.

Just then I saw some way ahead
a building with a sign outside.
When I got closer I could read.
Be welcome stranger step inside.

I parked my car just off the track
and boldly knocked upon the door.
Which slowly opened just a crack
then gradually a little more

Until at last it opened wide.
That doors gey stiff, a sharp voice said.
An ancient lady stood inside.
I asked her if she had a bed.

I have two rooms and they’re both free
the season hasn’t started yet.
So come you in where you can see
It is not often that I get.

A visitor at all these days
not since they built the carrigeway
She fanned the fire into a blaze.
She was quite certain I would stay.

She showed me to a cosy room
and said she would prepare a meal.
An oil lamp would relieve the gloom.
It seemed that I had struck a deal.

I did not care how much it cost
I had to eat and needed rest
I told her that I had got lost
and had decided it was best

To find some place to spend the night
before I had an accident
She said she thought that I was right
and I should bide the night content.

Tomorrow was another day.
I ate my meal and went to bed.
How long I slept I cannot say
When I awoke I found instead.

Of being warm and dry in bed
I was outside beneath the sky.
My old suit case pillowed my head.
Now I will wonder til I die.

If it was merely some strange dream
created by my tired mind.
Or had I entered some time stream
to find what I needed to find

Which took me back to yester year.
When folks lived at a slower pace
The memory is crystal clear
although I could not find a trace.

There was no record anywhere
to prove the house had ever been.
Officials thought me mad I fear
when I described the house I’d seen.

I had it researched thoroughly
By local experts in this field
But they found no more trace than I
At last I gave up forced to yield.

Admit my search had been in vain
Although it defies common sense
the memories which I retain
are not a matter of pretence.

I do not often share this tale
which I believe to be quite true.
I know quite well that I should fail
If I attempt to convince you.

I know from past experience.
Though there are some but very few.
Who listen to me with patience
and can admit it could be true.

Some things can never be explained
although they are improbable.
I only know that I’ve retained
Belief that all is possible.

If You Would, Please

Pass the salt dear, if you would, please,
I need to put some on these peas.
But not the pepper, now don’t tease,
you know it always makes me sneeze.

The horseradish sauce, is so nice,
it gives the meal a touch of spice.
But too much and you’ll pay the price,
it’ll burn your tongue in just a trice.

The tartare sauce is worth a try,
this is so true, I do not lie.
With luscious fish baked in a pie,
then served with a piquant stir fry.

What about chocolate dessert,
some extra calories won’t hurt.
then more cream, just maybe a squirt,
and watch it doesn’t stain your shirt.

Food of every kind I’ll eat,
I find it all a real treat.
I’m always ready for the sweet,
but slimming is a real feat.

Pass the salt dear, if you would, please,
and some lemon for me to squeeze
into my gin. Slices of cheese
would my sharp hunger pangs appease.

Pass the salt, Walt.

Condone my stupidity

Adjusting myself to suit your needs
reaping the wrong of your deeds
not saying out loud what i felt
not so sure if i could've dealt
with all the hate i had inside
for you, your body and your pride

Without you i felt bent, torn apart
knowing it was wrong from the start
staring at you i knew too well
that you were hurting me but refused to tell
anyone who asked why
i chased away and silently cried

Alone i sat in my room
with all those feelings of gloom
wishing that i could through them aside
i angrily felt that i had lost my pride
forgiving you, i never can
forgetting you, i am!

Behind Her Eyes

The pain she felt was behind her eyes
The eyes that were once the clear blue skys
Her face is clouded and dark
You can tell sorrow has left it's mark.

He left this pain in her face,
Left her clothed in faded lace,
He told her she wasn't worth it,
Wasn't worth the house he lit.

The pain was left with her, in her mind,
If you look past her eyes sorrows all you'll find.
She knew he'd do this, destroy her will to live,
She knew this would be all he would give.

The pain, she knows, will never pass,
It cuts through her like broken glass.
Her face is clouded and dark,
You can tell sorrow has left it's mark.

Cemetary Gates

Reverend, reverend,
Is this a conspiracy?
Crucified for no sins
No revenge... beneath me.
Lost within my plans for life,
It all seems so unreal.
Im a man cut in half in this world,
Left in my misery.
(instrumental)
The reverend he turned to me
Without a tear in his eyes.
Its nothing new for him to see,
I didnt ask him why.
I will remember...
The love our souls had sworn to make.
Now I watch the falling rain
All my mind can see now is your (face).
Well I guess
You took my youth
And gave it all away.
Like the birth of a new found joy,
This love would end in rage...
And when she died
I couldnt cry,
The pride within my soul.
You left me incomplete
All alone as the memories now unfold.
Believe the word.
I will unlock my door...
And pass the cemetery gates.
Sometimes when Im alone,
I wonder aloud,
If youre watching over me
Some place far abound.
I must reverse my life
I cant live in the past.
Then set my soul free,
Belong to me at last.
Through all those complex years
I thought I was alone.
I didnt care to look around
And make this world my own...
And when she died
I shouldve cried and spared myself some pain.
You left me incomplete,
All alone as the memories still remain.
The way we were,
The chance to save my soul...
And my concern is now in vain.
Believe the word,
I will unlock my door...
And pass the cemetery... gates
(instrumental)
The way we were,
The chance to save my soul...
And my concern is now in vain.
Believe the word,
I will unlock my door...
And pass the cemetery...
Gates!

Hey Tomorrow

Hey tomorrow, where are you goin'
Do you have some room for me
'Cause night is fallin' and the dawn is callin'
I'll have a new day if she'll have me
Hey tomorrow, I can't show you nothin'
You've seen it all pass by your door
So many times I said I been changin'
Then slipped into patterns of what happened before
"Cause I've been wasted and I've over-tasted
All the things that life gave to me
And I've been trusted, abused and busted
And I've been taken by those close to me
Hey tomorrow you've gotta believe that
I'm through wastin' whats left of me
'Cause night is fallin' and the dawn is callin'
I'll have a new day if she'll have me

Abort the child

"Please do me favor and abort the child"
He gently approached and sought my shield
I was taken a back and looked in his eyes
But failed to understand what he intended or tried to

"I want some more time to be father"
How can I permit him for such thing as mother?
He can run away from the responsibility
But what would I answer to the almighty?

I simply stared at him and wondered
What all he had promised and offered?
To keep me in good mood and safe
Now he wanted great sacrifice from me to be safe

I decided not to budge or relent
I kept mum and waited for his comments
He had taken me for granted and was very much sure
That I may consent and willingly assure

My heart bled for while and I cried
Eyes had shed too much and silently dried
He had almost in his command everything and tried
I stood firm in my stand and openly defied

"I shall not be part of inhuman act"
The child is mine and that is open fact
We are jointly responsible for birth
How can we offer untimely death?

I was in raging mood and disobeyed
My wished were silently conveyed
Either he must accept me as it is
Or make the way with his choice

I was not prepared to rebel against inner voice
Even if there was little left with me as choice
How can we be that cruel to birth of child?
When we had jointly explored the field

"No dear, there can't be any other way"
Child has to come on this earth any way
I shall take care of everything and survive
Tell me precisely what you think or believe?

Rabindranath Tagore

The Gardener IV: Ah Me

Ah me, why did they build my
house by the road to the market
town?
They moor their laden boats near
my trees.
They come and go and wander at
their will.
I sit and watch them; my time
wears on.
Turn them away I cannot. And
thus my days pass by.
Night and day their steps sound
by my door.
Vainly I cry, "I do not know
you."
Some of them are known to my
fingers, some to my nostrils, the
blood in my veins seems to know
them, and some are known to my
dreams.
Turn them away I cannot. I call
them and say, "Come to my house
whoever chooses. Yes, come."
In the morning the bell rings in the
temple.
They come with their baskets in
their hands.
Their feet are rosy red. The early
light of dawn is on their faces.
Turn them away I cannot. I call
them and I say, "Come to my garden
to gather flowers. Come hither."
In the mid-day the gong sounds
at the palace gate.
I know not why they leave their
work and linger near my hedge.
The flowers in their hair are pale
and faded; the notes are languid in
their flutes.
Turn them away I cannot. I call
them and say, "The shade is cool
under my trees. Come, friends."
At night the crickets chirp in the
woods.
Who is it that comes slowly to my
door and gently knocks?
I vaguely see the face, not a word
is spoken, the stillness of the sky is
all around.
Turn away my silent guest I
cannot. I look at the face through the
dark, and hours of dreams pass by.

Lewis Carroll

My Fairy

I have a fairy by my side
Which says I must not sleep,
When once in pain I loudly cried
It said "You must not weep"
If, full of mirth, I smile and grin,
It says "You must not laugh"
When once I wished to drink some gin
It said "You must not quaff".

When once a meal I wished to taste
It said "You must not bite"
When to the wars I went in haste
It said "You must not fight".

"What may I do?" at length I cried,
Tired of the painful task.
The fairy quietly replied,
And said "You must not ask".

Moral: "You mustn't."

Room Service

Im feelin low, no place to go
And Im a-thinking that Im gonna scream
Because a hotel all alone is not a
Rock and roll stars dream
But just when Im about to shut the light and go to bed
A lady calls and asks if Im too tired or if Im just to dead for
Room service, baby I could use a meal
Room service, you do what you feel
Room service, I take the pleasure with the pain
I cant say no
My planes delayed and Im afraid
Theyre gonna keep me waiting here till nine
Then a stewardess in a tight blue dress says
I got the time
But just as Im about to take my coat and get my fly
She says oh please, shes on her knees
And one more time before I leave I get some
Room service, baby I could use a meal
Room service, you do what you feel
Room service, I take the pleasure with the pain
I cant say no, no
In my home town, Im hangin round
With all the ladies treatin me real good
A sweet sixteen lookin hot and mean says
I wish you would
But just as Im about to tell her yes, I think I can
I see her dad, hes getting mad
All the time he knows that Im in need of
Room service, baby I could use a meal
Room service, you do what you feel
Room service, I take the pleasure with the pain
I cant say no
Room service, baby I could use a meal
Room service, you do what you feel
Room service, I take the pleasure with the pain
I cant say no, I cant say no
Room service, baby I could use a meal
Room service, you do what you feel
Room service, you take the pleasure with the pain
I cant say no
Room service, well maybe baby, room service

Dark Trinity

Said I to Pain: "You would not dare
Do ill to me."
Said Pain: "Poor fool! Why should I care
Whom you may be?
To clown and king alike I bring
My meed of bane;
Why should you shirk my chastening?"
Said Pain.

Said I to Grief: "No tears have I,
Go on your way."
Said Grief: "Why should I pass you by,
While others pay?
All men must know the way of woe,
From saint to thief,
And tears were meant to overflow,"
Said Grief.

Said I to Death: "From ail and fret
Grant me relief."
Said Death: "I know you are beset
By Pain and Grief.
But my good will you must await
Since human breath
To suffering is consecrate,"
Said Death.

Said I to God: "Pale Sister Grief,
Bleak Brother Pain,
Bedevil me beyond belief,
And Death's unfain . . ."
Said God: "Curse not that blessed Three,
Poor human clod!
Have faith! Believe the One with Me,"
Said God.

Wherever You Are

These times have passed and gone
Its time that we moved on
Into a new tomorrow
And leave behind the hurt
The sorrow and the pain
cos tonight will never
Pass this way again
Wherever you are
Wherever you go
Wherever you stand
Let your shadow show
Whatever you think
Whatever you do
Whatever you want
Let your feelings show
These times have passed and gone
Its time that we moved on
Into a new tomorrow
And leave behind the hurt
The sorrow and the pain
cos tonight will never
Pass this way again
cos tonight will never
Pass this way again
Just like the winter sun
That hides behind the dawn
Just like the shifting sands
That ride upon the storm
Tonight will never
Pass this way again
cos tonight will never
Pass this way again
cos tonight will never
Pass this way again

Pass this way again

Yoy want anything

You want anything

"You want anything from me "
I told her to be frank and free"
She did not stop looking down
It was sheer fault of my own

I loved her and confided many times
Yet she had apprehensions sometimes
Any serious girl may think hundred times
Before making her self available on that line

I have great regard for her sense of pride
Many a times she opined and did not hide
I was afraid to face her in day light
As she never crossed the way to fight

This was my first encounter with her
She was bold and brave with no fear
"I shall face world but not go back"
To my words even if so much is at stake

I left her in lurch and went abroad
As I was poor and down with debt load
I had to make move with heavy heart
Even though I resolved in mind to make her part

Today I am back after many years
I wanted same original voice to be heard in ears
I sent for her a message with flower
To see me in private but not at place very far

I saw her with pale face but not completely down
She was in complete command and made it known
"I am unmarried yet" but paused in between
"I too same for these many years have been"

We both were passing through same phase
Life was normal but not with any fine base
It lacked warmth and life's discipline
How could everything be smooth and fine?

"I am reformed and at my best"
The past was past and passed off as test
Let us be one again and spend the rest of the journey
She smiled for a while and I thanked almighty

You said that I

You said that I "was Great"—one Day—
Then "Great" it be—if that please Thee—
Or Small—or any size at all—
Nay—I'm the size suit Thee—

Tall—like the Stag—would that?
Or lower—like the Wren—
Or other heights of Other Ones
I've seen?

Tell which—it's dull to guess—
And I must be Rhinoceros
Or Mouse—
At once—for Thee—

So say—if Queen it be—
Or Page—please Thee—
I'm that—or nought—
Or other thing—if other thing there be—
With just this Stipulus—
I suit Thee—

Shine Silently

Just another room
Just another town
Same old crazy people hanging around
Still you shine silently
Staring into space
Comin' down alone
Feel like packin' all my bags
And running home
Shine silently
Shine shine silently
I don't need no light in the darkness
Shine silently
No I won't get lost while your loves shines
Shines on me shines on me
People at the door
People on the phone
Same old story
No time on my own
Still shine silently
Nothing left to say
Nothing left to prove
When it's said and done
There's nothing left but you babe
Shine silently
chorus
Shine shine silently
I don't need no light in the darkness
Shine silently
No I won't get lost while your loves shines

The Quarrel

Our quarrel seemed a giant thing,
It made the room feel mean and small,
The books, the lamp, the furniture,
The very pictures on the wall--

Crowded upon us as we sat
Pale and terrified, face to face.
"Why do you stay?" she said, "my room
Can never be your resting place."

"Katinka, ere we part for life,
I pray you walk once more with me."
So down the dark, familiar road
We paced together, silently.

The sky--it seemed on fire with stars!
I said:--"Katinka dear, look up!"
Like thirsty children, both of us
Drank from the giant loving cup.

"Who were those dolls?" Katinka said
"What were their stupid, vague alarms?"
And suddenly we turned and laughed
And rushed into each other's arms.

Gearhead

Written by John Mellencamp
As the sound bounds in the street
And you settle down to your back seat
And the movement seems to be
.......
And all the jokes that you use to poke
At all the dopes you were once seen with
And every word that you had ??
Was looking up to you for a reason
And you joke at all the words that you spoke
And you say hey man I was only teasing
And the rhyme is no longer in time
And all the words are not the words you been needin'
Well your not alone, you can feel right at home
You've been fully wronged, into position
Its the nature of the race, in an old type of place ??
Cause they'll spit in your face in their conditioned
And now you think to yourself, what is left for tomorrow
And it seems kinda strange, there's nothing left to gain
And nothing left to borrow
And the mistake your about to make
Will be the final take of your sorrow
(Chorus)

The Dress-Maker

A CLOISTERED nun had a lover
Dwelling in the neighb'ring town;
Both racked their brains to discover
How they best their love might crown.
The swain to pass the convent-door!--
No easy matter!--Thus they swore,
And wished it light.--I ne'er knew a nun
In such a pass to be outdone:--
In woman's clothes the youth must dress,
And gain admission. I confess
The ruse has oft been tried before,
But it succeeded as of yore.
Together in a close barred cell
The lovers were, and sewed all day,
Nor heeded how time flew away.--
"What's that I hear? Refection bell!
"'Tis time to part. Adieu!--Farewell!--
"How's this?" exclaimed the abbess, "why
"The last at table?"--"Madam, I
"Have had my dress-maker."--"The rent
"On which you've both been so intent
"Is hard to stop, for the whole day
"To sew and mend, you made her stay;
"Much work indeed you've had to do!
"--Madam, 't would last the whole night through,
"When in our task we find enjoyment
"There is no end of the employment."
